This is my wife and I’s first mortgage and we could not be more disappointed and unsatisfied. In our most recent run in with this horrid company we were attempting to set up the bi-weekly autopay method. For starters you have to be one month paid in advance and then they still take the money from your account next month. The representative sent us the form to complete and lo and behold it was the incorrect form. So now since the representative messed things up we now have to pay our mortgage for a THIRD time this month to continue to be eligible for this program. No one has tried to help us in any way with the situation caused by them. All we get is “sorry for the inconvenience” or “I know it’s frustrating.” Every time you try and speak with a representative it’s about a 5 min battle with their recorded voice. Then you have a 50/50 shot of being hung-up on. As soon as you finally conquer the voice recording and it’s time to speak with a representative the voice recording will hang-up and you get to start the process all over again or as soon as you hear the representative say “hello” the call will be dropped. The only thing I want is to get as far away from this company as I can and NEVER look back.
The app crashes all the time, and is very difficult to get into. Today it tells me I can’t open until I update and it has a link to the App Store, once in the App Store, there is no update available and it just prompts you to open the app which doesn’t work without being updated. If you call, you have to go through the horribly unhelpful automated service which only 50% of the internet even gives an option to talk to a representative and still takes 5-8 mins through automation to get to. Everything on the phone tells you to go to the app, which you can’t get into…. None of the resources they use are reliable at all.
I called the company and half way through the conversation I was hung up on. On the next call they told me they were too busy and I needed to get my paperwork through the app, the employee simply did not have time to do the request. With little choice I downloaded the app and have thus far been unsuccessful in getting the info I need. Twice when I have tried to create my profile, after I’m done retyping in the information the application resets back to the opening screen asking me to login with a profile it does not let me create. There is very important mortgage information I need, this has been a very frustrating experience.
I am very disappointed with this app today I logged on only to see there’s another loan on my account and no I didn’t register the account because it’s not my loan. I called and was rerouted to another company and then rerouted back to the original customer service. I was told by the first customer representative this other account was associated to me which is incorrect again I only have have one mortgage. When I was able to speak to the last representative she clarified they only showed my one existing mortgage & would reach out to their servicing IT dept - hope this matter is rectified promptly because I take accuracy seriously.
Half the time the app just crashes for no reason. After it crashes, you can no longer look up your loan by loan number. Does not have an easy way to just log in to look at your loan. Should open to log in page instead of look up your loan page. Once log in page is open - it should give the option to just look up loan without logging in. Couldn’t tell you how well the rest of the app is set up because after setting up my account it crashed, and continues to crash and not allow me to easily log in or even look up my loan. Just use the website and avoid this disaster.
As others have mentioned, I’m having to enter my loan number, login information and OTP verification each time to access my account on the app. The app does accept my credentials passed from my password manager, like from the website on Safari from my laptop. I successfully completed Face Id enrollment and verified the setting is turned on in the IOS app’s settings. Each subsequent launch of the app never brings up Face Id for authentication. Again, I have to enter my loan number, credentials and finally go through OTP verification EVERY time. Simpler just to make a web shortcut and use it instead. It works with my password manager.
This has got to be the most not user-friendly app ever developed. This is a mobile web, not a mobile interface app. It’s like having a standalone browser. Why do I gotta enter my login info over and over again? Why it doesn’t give me the option to save my credentials? Why does the the app even ask me to remember login info when it doesn’t? It’s better to open your google chrome or safari and go from there. I’ve spent more time fiddling through than doing something more productive. Do yourself a favor. Stop wasting your time. Delete the app.
I love being able to access my loan on my phone, and this app provides the info I need right at my fingertips. The interface is well designed and easy to use. So glad I went through a mortgage broker to refinance, since I saved money and the process was so easy; and I’m glad my broker worked with UWM! If you have a loan with UWM, you should download this app!
This app is horrible. It doesn’t even work. The login screen just glitches endlessly. I’ve tried on so many occasions to use this app and am now just deleting it because it never takes me anywhere after logging in. I know I’m providing the correct login info because I can log in on the website. It even glitches out when using my Face ID. You’d think when we’re paying them over a million dollars for our loan, that they could afford to make a decent app.
App is doable but poorly designed and not very intuitive. But I find the website to be the same so I kind of anticipated it. I was able to access loan and make a payment. Irritation… loan was completely funded on my income alone but since my husband and I are both on the loan he was automatically put as primary. When I tried to use my credentials to upload the loan - no go. When I put in his credentials- bingo, no problem. I’m SO over the embedded patriarchal systems.
The app is complete garbage. It always defaults to the first time login screen instead of taking you to the actual log in screen, meaning you need your social or account number every time. It crashes in the middle of logging in and makes you go back to the new customer first time log in pages over and over. I just want to pay my mortgage and they are making it impossible. I’ve had this mortgage for a year and the app has actually continued to get WORSE during this timeframe.
Tried inputting my info ( both loan # and name etc) was then brought to the same login page as the website but despite literally copying and pasting my login ID and pass. , worked fine on website but was saying that I had to put in a password through the app ( which I did , just didn’t recognize it was there). Been waiting a long time to be able to pay my mortgage through an app, unfortunately it looks like I’ll have to wait a bit longer.
It is mobile WEB, not mobile native app. UI and interaction is not what you would expect. Totally unusable. Try to tap dashboard button twice and you will be kicked out and will need to start over again: enter your loan number, register your device (again and again?), login again. I wish this app designers use only applications like this on their phones. I am glad I do not need to use it much. I can use desktop. Avoid this and keep yourself sane.
This is one of the worst apps, and the website is not much better. EVERY SINGLE ATTEMPT TO LOG IN RESULTS IN HAVING TO RESET THE PASSWORD AND ENTER LOAN NUMBER OR OTHER DETAILS. How do we access our mortgage details and get messages we have been emailed about, when it is next to impossible to log in?!?! Calling customer service is not much better. Instead of trying to figure out the problem and help, all she said was, ‘Oh its not supposed to do that,’ and then asked if there was anything else I needed. WOW.
Horrible navigation and set up. Go with different lender!
I’ve spent over an hour trying to set up the app so I can make my first mortgage payment. The screen keeps disappearing and going back to the beginning steps. There is no website to create an account online so you’re stuck with this app. I don’t see how anyone can continue with this company. I am looking to refinance immediately because they do not have the appropriate tools to make it easy for a customer
UWM really needs to figure out what the heck is going on with log-in credentials and verification. Third party log in has been disabled for months for literally everyone, you have to maintain two different sets of login credentials to use all their services, and their two step verification process is completely broken. It's ridiculous for a service that you can't even choose not to work with to have such poor security and service.
Have been waiting for years for an improvement, nothing
The app never seems to work. I log in with my credentials and then it goes to an external captcha screen, with no options to choose, click, or move on from. I have to access my loan from my computer any time I want to check on it. Thought about refinancing just to get away from this company and their poorly designed app and non-user friendly website.
This web app keeps kicking me out if I can even log in. I have to constantly verify my credentials, and if I click a wrong button, it kicks me out and I have to start over. Then, when I try to login on desktop with the same valid credentials, it says my email or password is incorrect. Frustrating! UWM should fix both their desktop website and mobile app, as both do no function properly.
I was hoping for an actual useful app that would expedite the payment process. Instead, after 10 minutes of going back and forth between text verification codes and passwords, you have to log in again. Why doesn’t the app offer facial recognition and the ability to store the user info? Who designed this? Spend more on the app and less on advertising.
Loaded right up…found my loan…logged right in. No access codes or anything. Made a payment within about 3 minutes of downloading the app. Not sure what everyone else is talking about.
Finding the right UWM site online was such a nightmare, so I went into this app expecting nothing. It showed my account details in seconds. Works perfectly well for me
I don’t understand why you would release an app before testing it. The app can not be even considered in the “development mode”. Lots of issues with login, SMS verification every time you open the app, can’t stay logged in and numerous other issues. The app is clearly not tested before getting published on App Store. Don’t waste your time installing it. Hopefully next versions it can become more stable. Until then 0 stars.
I rarely review apps, but I just had to comment so that they would hopefully improve this. The login process is atrocious. It would be fine for the first time you ever login, but it doesn’t save your credentials even behind faceID. When you are finally in and click on various places of the app it will log you out. Multi-tasking to a different app will log you out. Terrible experience. Don’t even have an app.
Most of these reviews are about the bank. This is not. I have no issue with the bank. The app is terrible. The app is very glitchy. I rarely and able to login successfully the first time, regardless if I authenticate my credentials correctly. Today, when I launch the app and brought to the screen that indicates there was a problem finding my loan. The try again, and the find my loan button, just refresh the page and do no function. Additionally tried to login on the actual website multiple times but I never receive a password reset email (no it’s not in my junk mail). I do not want to call a 1800 number to pay my mortgage.
It’s easy to login and make my payment. The face recognition is super helpful so I don’t have to deal with the lengthy password process. Great job so far, can’t wait to see what else is coming!
Cannot even log in. There should be a button for me to click to be able to log in with facial recognition instead of it asking me before I click “agree” to terms. Why in the world do I need to agree to terms every time I want to log in? And why in the world before all of this, I need to put my loan number, then close the app and reopen it. Absolutely trash.
You would think a multi million dollar company such as UWM would have a better ap. Can never login, doesn’t remember password, Face ID does not work. Have to get a new password every time I want to login. Ridiculous. But when I login with my computer on the internet it works just fine. Ap is trash. And so is UWM. Called and talked to UWM about this issue for over 2 hours and still not resolved.
Having received access to my mortgage online, I promptly signed up to make an account on their app. Putting in my loan number I am greeted with what is a well laid out app, however found myself signed out a few days later. App does not give any indication as to why I was signed out, and if I have to enter the login information each time, why have an app at all?
I’m having the same issue as everyone else. Every time I have to pay my mortgage, its a headache. I have to constantly enter my loan information & its just a cycle of going back & forth. I try on the website & it redirects to the app. I’ve tried calling to pay but they have a service fee, they told me to pay through the app. Super frustrating! This app was designed so poorly.
Both the app and the website are TRASH. You can neither log in, nor create an account to pay your mortgage. You guys are causing customer’s difficulty, and possibly even late fees to be added to their mortgages payments due to payments not being made on time because your website and app aren’t functioning. Please fix this.
The app is definitely an improvement from having to go to a website everytime and login to view your statement. It appears to stay logged in. I would love to be able to use faceID with it. Baby steps though I suppose.
Doesn’t recognize that I have stored credentials in iPhone, unlike almost every other website I use. Then, the SMS codes need to be entered one digit at a time, with my iPhone keyboard reverting to letters after each key. All of these criticisms apply to the full site as well. The app does nothing special.
After seeing a couple of 5-stars reviews, I was hopeful something had changed. It did not! The authentication works horribly, and the application is not designed for mobile devices. Had I had the option, I’d move my mortgage to a different company just to protect my mental health. Update: With the changes to “Find my Loan”, now it asks for the full SSN and date of birth. Are the developers aware that some apps collect all this data?!?! Finding the loan should not be necessary. Entering the loan number should be a one-time task when signing up for the first time. Then, just use a safe authentication method like other financial apps.
The app is fine and all, but it is extremely frustrating that it asks if you want to save your login info then still requires you to always retype it even though when you open the app initially you can see your login info on the screen.
On my iphone when ever i login it is opening captcha screen but nothing for me click or type i did clicked done couple of times sometimes i lucky move forward in login process. Under autopay enrollment the addpayment method link is not clickable. Why the account name is fixed. It is a joint loan shouldnt we have an option do it from two cards?
My app when logging in just pops up a CAPTCHA screen with nothing that I can do. When I close out, it just keeps spinning like it is trying to login in but never does. The layout of the app when I was able to login was cumbersome and not easy to navigate to document notices, making a payment, etc. Needs a great deal of improvement ASAP.
Are used to have a user ID and a password to sign into my account, now they want to have my Social Security number. That’s ridiculous. This last update has made me remove this app from my phone. There’s no way my Social Security number is going out over the Internet to enter into any kind of program or app, you get a zero star
Don’t waste the space on your phone by downloading this app and make sure you have a unlimited calling plan because you will be making all your mortgage payments by phone. You will never be able to access your account via this app because you will never make it past the login screen
Far and away, the worst financial app I ever used. Have to manually login each time, no Face ID available. After I sign in and tap on my loan, it takes me back to the login screen again. It doesn’t appear to really be an app because it keeps wanting to take you to the “loan servicing website.” I’m sorry I ever made this online account. Deleting the app.
Don’t have your app coded by an elementary schooler
There’s almost what seems to be a 2 part log in where it asks for your number and a second page where you enter your account log in. You just get stuck in a loop between these two at least making the app unusable for me and by the look of these reviews everyone else as well lol
This app was so great and I used to log in and get all my information and documents from there. Very user friendly. Recently, the app doesn’t work and I can only use the web to log in. It’s been a week that website doesn’t work either and doesn’t load. What’s going on? Please look into this matter. Thanks.
By far the worst financial app I have ever used. Logging in is a pain (not optimized at all), requires three different layers (and fails half the time). Layout is awful and makes no sense. App is slow and buggy. Everything takes 5 times as long compared to other apps. Not sure if it’s safe to trust this company with your financial data…
Never have i ever seen an app that requires you to enter loan information every single time you try and log in. I have 4 loans with UWM and it is a big gigantic pain in the “you know what” to look up my loans. The worst part is that this app has 1 stat review “i am sure if 0 was an option it would be it” and UWM has done nothing to fix it
There is no personal profile to view or change current mailing address. I looked on the app to check my address and there is nothing. I tried to compose a message but there is no submit button, only the X to cancel is visible. The website is another disappointment.
This is my first time using this after being with a previous lender. The other lender allowed me to see real time documents, payment history, payoff amounts and a bunch of other things. I’m trying to add an additional payment method and this app will only allow you to enter one. That makes no sense whatsoever!!!!
