Just a simple and easy as the website

I LOVE the quality of my photo prints from Nations Photo Lab. I haven’t ordered from any other photo print company since discovering NPL over 5 years ago. I’m thrilled they now have an app and so far I have found I can do everything on the app that I do on the website. I haven’t run into any glitches. I like that I can easily access photos from my phone and social media accounts for quick and easy printing.

Does the job, but very basic

I've ordered through Nations before, so I wanted to give the app a shot. (Getting 10 free 5"x7" prints definitely enticed me!) I felt the app worked fine for what it was. But as it is with many apps, you're getting a "dumbed down" version of what you can do with desktop. For example, I could only figure out how to change print size. There was no apparent way to change paper type to glossy or metallic, you just got "lustre" (known as matte anywhere else.) Nor could you turn off color correction (conveniently an extra charge), add borders, etc. I had to go into the main website via laptop for that. And you can obviously select pics from your phone. The app also allows integration with Instagram/Facebook and Google. But there's no way to directly add pics from Flickr, SmugMug, or other more photo-dedicated social media. Instagram images are notoriously lo-res, so there's no way I'd want to use them as a template for a 5"x7" (or larger) photo. So I had to first download images from Flickr to upload to the app. Not the end of the world, but Flickr integration would make things a lot easier. And when I got to check-out, the only payment option was PayPal, which seemed pretty bizarre. The app was easy enough to use, but I doubt I'd use it again, unless I wanted to quickly upload iPhone shot images.

Really frustrating and time intensive

The app closing down any time you try to do anything is really frustrating. Honestly, without getting the free 5x7’s, I would not have continued to fight the app (you wouldn’t believe what I would do for a Klondike bar). There are a lot of thing you need to go to the browser for, even on your phone works better than the app. Each screen really needs a search function, and you should be able to go to the cart from any screen. It can be difficult to navigate to specific products. Somehow, I ended up with cc on 5 of my images, even though I was very careful to deselect it on every item added. I hope they work out; not only did I waste the funds on it, my monitor has been calibrated to NPL prints, and I can’t afford the time to reorder if they are bad. These are the mistakes made when you spend 2 hours on a task that should take 15 minutes.

Doesn’t work with all iPhone files

Extremely annoying that it seems this app does not work with uploading iPhone RAW files. I think it has something to do probably with with the file type but there’s little info online. It only gives an error that something went wrong and to try again later. Just tell me I uploaded an incompatible file so I don’t wonder what’s wrong for a month. Otherwise, I like the app. It is a little buggy, previews sometimes disappear. Zoom is a little granular and makes big step changes when trying to move the image in the crop window. I wish it would display printing dpi based on the image and printing size. I also wish it wouldn’t group the photos by size but I understand if you are ordering 100s it probably necessary.

very different from the desktop version

The reason I downloaded this app was because the desktop version was being very laggy. So i open the app and put in the same exact photos in, and its almost 3 times the price?? On desktop the same exact photos were about 150$ meanwhile, in the app it was a little over 400$. i don't understand how there was such a huge difference in price. i just ended up deleting this app and using rhe laggy website instead. i also dont like how it automatically put color correction on which is an extra charge. i spent half the day going through every single photo and turning it off so it wouldnt charge me. its also difficult to properly crop the images. Also I was using my phone on the website so maybe this is why but when i was scrolling through the photos some wouldnt show up or the formatting would be weird.

The app is great, and I’ve heard fantastic things about this company. However, there is one thing about this app that was extremely frustrating for me. I fat finger things all... the... time. Normally that’s not an issue, but in this app, fat-fingering an interactive element can register as a click on the background which effectively returns to the previous screen. I did this twice when editing different photos and a whopping three times when just trying to click the “make primary” button on the enter payment screen. It’s super annoying to have to enter credit card info FOUR times. Please either increase the interactive area of elements or remove the “click the background to go back” feature. If it wasn’t for this, I’d be giving this app 5 stars.

Limited on the iPad

With all the recent iPad hype for transitioning from desktop to tablet, I was expecting more iPad functionality. I was hoping for “Files” access, add to an existing “Gallery” that was previously created and perhaps an actual iPad app opposed the iOS version. The “Photos” access is good, and social connectivity is great for users on the go, but projects exported from Lightroom, or similar software, leaves you needing to use a very specific procedure to get your photos uploaded or being pushed back to needing a desktop computer. And yes, the website does have some issues with multi-file uploads from the iPad Files app. I’m sure it will improve and looking forward to future releases, but Files and iPad users... better export to an album in Photos and be ready to create a brand new gallery or use a desktop.

Extremely frustrating

I’ve ordered prints from Nations before and found them easy to work with and high quality, so I was very excited to find this app. I uploaded 508 photos, edited the size (why did they default to 5x7 instead of 4x6? Why does adding a duplicate picture in a different print size go to the beginning of the pictures instead of staying in order? Why do they want you to scroll to the end by swiping individually instead if having an option to go to the one you haven’t reviewed yet?), selected many for duplicates in larger sizes, and tried to upload. After multiple failures I started deleting edited photos. 50 at a time until I had less than 50, and it still wouldn’t upload. Just don’t bother with this app. Edit them on a laptop and upload to Nations that way, because this app is a frustrating waste of time.

Terrible App- very buggy. Budget 4x the time to order prints

This is an AWFUL app. It’s like they want to lose customers. The company is absolutely leaving money on the table by not improving this app. Chief complaints: * It takes SO long for the photo library to load. I ended up selecting the photos I wanted to print in my regular photo app and saving it to a district album and then only giving the app permission to those select photos in my phone share settings else literally the photos wouldn’t have loaded. I recommend doing this or you’ll just drive yourself mad. * if you select photos from a google album and my iPhone photos then it errored out * it just errors out randomly in the flow— when I tried to save the shopping address it just closed the app In the end printing ten photos took me 30+ minutes and I pretty much knew what I needed to print. If they weren’t well reviewed for the print quality and I hadn’t already had a subpar experience on a different print service (in terms of print quality), I’d have abandoned ship!

Horrendous Product Quality

Absolutely not do not use this company. I ordered a personalized Christmas stocking for my daughter, the photo fit perfectly, was not close to any edges, etc. The product I got had white around a few of the sides (this was NOT part of the design). I contacted them saying that this had happened and asked what could be done. They said “this is not our normal quality” and said they could either replace or refund. I gave them benefit of the doubt and had it replaced. NOPE, waste of time. I received the same horrible quality product-white edging in new places. So I am not in the process of demanding a refund, and the stockings are going in the garbage. Very VERY disappointed in everything that has happened.

Technical issues

The app seems not quite as full-featured as the websites, with some photo paper options not available. But I decided to use the app out of convenience. I added a few prints on the default paper, with no problem. But then when I went to select a metallic print the app suddenly had a completely white screen. I force quit the app and I selected the option to pick up where I left off, but the white screen returned. I’ll now see if the website works on my iPad instead. Although right off the bat, I don’t see a “sign in with Apple” option on the website, even though I created an account via that method on their app.

Convenient and great prints!

The app is easy to use, but as with most mobile apps, there are not as many options compared to the desktop website. They offer color correction through the desktop version but I have not seen it in the app. You may want to consider adjusting the exposure of your photos on your mobile device or computer prior to uploading and submitting your order. The prints tend to be darker than what is seen on the screen. I have had framing, matting, loose prints, metallic prints, lustre prints, and foam backed prints from NPL. All of which was packaged well and of good quality.

Still unable to purchase through app

The is fine right up to when you want to make a purchase and it quits. Unable to use the free 5x7s for first purchase through the app. Last time I tried to purchase through the app was two years ago, but after trying again yesterday I see they have not fixed the issue. Last time I contacted the customer support, but that was no help. If you want to place your items in the cart to purchase through the website then it works fine. However if you want to complete a purchase through the app, good luck because I have yet to be able to.

Deleting App

I downloaded app after a google search for photo prints lead me to them. That was 7 hours ago! I uploaded over 100 photos, for some reason, after changing the size and saving all photos, I was left with 32 photos. I went back out and started over… and over … and over. The app fails constantly and loses all your photos and edits. You’ll have to start over. It automatically uploads to purchases 5x7 and you have to manually change each photo size, and the app crashes constantly. Cropping is nearly impossible. Don’t bother with this app. I’m deleting and going back to Snapfish. I wish I had the lost 7 hours of my life back.

Pretty great. Not perfect but good enough

I was excited to see they added an app. It works well enough but still a little limited, was unable to add photos from a shared album easily. I had to use the website to upload first then come back to app. Also a little clunky changing all photo settings from a batch of photos. However it had my account and cart from the website, worked smoothly, and was generally great to use. I hope it continues getting refined and seems like the base to a great app!

I love it!!!

The best costumer services. Easy to use app. Coupons are always available. Amazing quality. There's nothing more satisfying for me as a photographer than holding my prints in my hand. I’m in love with the metallic finish. Nations Photo Lab has become my best friend and I’m sure that they aren’t aware. I wish I lived closer. I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from ordering prints daily. I’ve never been been disappointed.

Was great for about 30 min....

It was great for about 30 min! I installed it today because i was having trouble with the website. With the time i had available right after installing it i was able to order about 1/3 of 2 of my galleries and i planned to order the rest when i got free this evening. Fast forward get in this evening and now 3 of my 5 have no photos. Ive restarted the app probably 15 times. I’ve reinstalled it. I’ve turned my phone on and off. Still all gone. And the website no longer works with safari i guess is what I’m told after doing a live chat.... so I’m pretty disappointed and now i get to go to another photo service to try to finish.

Crashes during checkout

The photo quality of NPL is excellent so thought I would try the app. Well I’ve spent the entire morning trying to get it to work. We just got back from a trip and wanted to get a large number of prints and I’ve spent the entire morning trying to get this app to work. Inevitably every time I get to the checkout page, I load my credit card or pay pal and click check out and the whole thing crashes. Had issues with getting my account set up before that so I have had to load 200+ pictures 6 different times only for it not to work. Super frustrating.

Terrible app and service

I downloaded this app after reading about it on the New York Times Wirecutter. The app is TERRIBLE. It crashes every time I tried to place an order and deleting and reinstalling the app didn’t help. When I tried to use the website instead, it didn’t have any of the photos I had uploaded on the app. There’s also no option to delete photos from the app. When I finally contacted Customer Support, no one was available to speak so I did a live chat and all they said was to delete and reinstall the app - and then the chat ended before I could follow up! Not worth installing.

App is clunky, photos are beautiful

The app doesn’t work well for figuring out a large order with multiple different sizes. I will change the size of a photo only to have it default back to 5x7, or I won’t be able to review every photo that I’ve chosen as it just shows up as a blank tile. Also, once I placed an order, I never got any kind of confirmation email or indication that the order went through. But it still showed up! I loved the prints, they were lovely.

app doesn’t work well

i have been able to order prints through the app once. i currently have prints in my cart but as soon as i hit place order from the checkout/order summary screen the app goes away. i have had many issues with the app suddenly quitting. ive been trying to place this particular order for a few weeks now. i have been able to place one order thru the app and it turned out well. overall i like the quality of NPL and thats why i will be persistent with the app.

Why did I wait SO long?

This app was seamless and so very easy! Can't wait until I get my photos as I have recently moved and am in prices of updating and changing. photos I have framed. Sick of degrading, crappy drug store photos! Great reviews, so we'll see how these come out. I'm almost 60 years old and working of an older IPhone, and this was super easy. What a wonderful surprise to find that I get free prints for download! Gonna be a GREAT DAY! YAY! THANKS!

Easy to order pics

It was really easy to order pictures and upload the ones you wanted. The only complaint was changing every pic from 5x7 to a different size and had to flip through each one. If you add a second size print to a picture it sends you back to the very first one and have to flip back through them all again.

Way Better than the Website

This is app is so much easier to use than the website. I love the functionality when you’re looking at all the pictures in your cart and how to edit them. I will say, it could be easier or more clear on how to add pictures to your cart once you’ve gotten away from that page. But otherwise, great app.

Love

I use NPL for both personal pictures and for my photography business. The turn around is great, paper quality is stellar, and prices that are some of the most cost effective for the quality of print. I have never been disappointed by their products, and my customers love that the pics don’t fade or get curled.

Guessing Ok Printer

Haven’t printed in years. Guessing the major printing sites have changed. Did a test order enlargement. I must have missed the cropping feature because it was mis-cropped because camera format didn’t match the the 8x10. I have to reorder the print. The image wasn’t perfect (soft rear focus) but the image had personal meaning. I will order again from them. I am guessing the lab is solid.

Good but a little quirky

Easy to choose and edit photos, but I had a hard time getting the photo to update after editing. It would require hitting the update button several times before it would take. When you’re working with an order of more than a few photos it can be quite time consuming. Besides that quirk I found it to be pretty intuitive.

VERY buggy

App keeps freezing. It’s very frustrating, especially when I’ve spent time selecting and cropping pictures to have to begin all over again. Even the most simple tasks like selecting photos that are already uploaded to the website will freeze the app. I thought maybe it was my phone, so I tried my iPad. Not only did it freeze even more, but the app isn’t formatted correctly to fit the iPad screen. It’s unfortunate, because I was excited to order multiple frames for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day

Where are my albums?

It would be nice if I could access all of my photo albums. I went through all of my 30,000 pictures and made an album of specific photos I want to print. In the app the only albums I can access are “all photos” and “Instagram”. So I had to go back through all 30,000 pictures in the app to select the photos I wanted to print. Still deciding if I want to place an order after wasting all that time…

Lots of Issues

I couldn’t ever get my order to place through the app. I had a large purchase to make, but if I tried to add too many pictures at once it would shut down. Then after spending 3 hours going through pictures and picking out the right sizes, I hit place order. I got a message that my order needed to upload. Well, 45 minutes later my order is still uploading with no progress made. I’m so disappointed that I wasted so much time and will have to start over and miss out on the great sale they were having.

Bad software quality

I see a developer response saying they were going to fix the back button in the next release. 2 months later, I still couldn’t use the back button. My recent photos never appear, so I can’t select them. I downloaded this app because their website was so bad—constantly popping up offers over the content, but then failing to actually load anything in the offer. In e-commerce, you may have an excellent product to ship, but if the storefronts are all broken, people should take that as a bad sign.

Keeps crashing and they sent incorrectly cropped pictures

First time w this company- just got a stack of terrible prints - some are super contrasty and others have heads and other integral bodyparts looped off, inexplicably, and quite contrary to how I uploaded them. Please return my son’s forehead. And maybe invest in a printer I can’t buy myself for $500. Kind if wanted professional prints. Kind of the whole point. And maybe don’t flood your app reviews w fake reviews. A month ago it only showed 10 reviews and they were starred reflecting the truth.

Easy to use and fast!

Just loaded the app after using the website for prints. Love the quality of the items I’ve received and the app has made ordering that much easier. I still get to choose and edit my photos like on the website, but the process is much smoother. Highly recommended!

Simple

Downloaded the app and ordered my first pictures. Took 5 minutes to download the app, log in, select my photos I want prints, enter my payment info and hit place order. 5 minutes and done!!!! SUPER EASY to use!!! Cant wait to see my pictures on professional quality paper and show them off to everyone!!!

Easy to Use & Quality Prints

I have ordered from them before and have been very impressed with the quality of the prints. Just placed my first order with the app. It’s so easy to upload straight from my phone and skip the hassle of uploading photos to the computer beforehand!

Trouble placing orders

Every time I go to place an order it says. “Adding your photos” you can still work on your order. Even tried deleting and re adding photos multiple times. The photos uploaded don’t line up on my account in the desktop so not sure how to get my order placed. I love their work and have tons, but having lots of issues lately.

Won’t Load

I’ve been trying to purchase prints from my wedding multiple times on the app. It won’t load some of my photos despite restarting app, clearing our cart and starting from scratch, and even trying different photos for the size I want. I’ve usually had no problems in the past, not sure why the app isn’t working for me now.

Always a great job!

I’ve ordered several times through Nations Photo Lab - everything from people to landscapes to animals and every finish you can imagine - glossy, matte, and metallic, and they always do such a great job with the photos. Also a great job packaging. Have never received a bent photo. Will continue using!

Great to do a quick print order!

I wish you could order more than just prints, which I’m sure you are working on! Other than that, ordering prints using the app is simple and it’s great that now I can order from anywhere and don’t need my pc for the most part, as long as you can get to your pictures through your phone, it works great!

Really Great

The only, literally only thing I would want is to have a better way to figure out how to get long prints printed with allll of the subjects in the print area, besides just scrolling through and picking a size. Other than that, it met my expectations and exceeded them at some parts! :)

Very difficult, basic, and outdated app

This app is very difficult to use and not phone friendly whatsoever. I spent over 30 minutes editing my photos and uploading them for my cart to randomly delete the photos I was working on. Very confusing app layout and NOT user friendly. Don’t recommend using this app when there are plenty of other apps out there. Will be deleting this app and using one of the 20 other companies out there.

Never been disappointed

Found this lab by accident and wow... my lucky day. I’ve placed countless orders and haven’t had one that wasn’t printed exactly as I ordered. Never a redo, priced right and super easy to use their ordering process. So glad they now have an app, makes it even easier. They have my continued business.

High quality prints, finally an app to match

I didn’t order prints in a while, however NPL always offered top quality prints, my problem was an outdated app and cumbersome process from Mac, no good option from iOS. Now we’ll order more, as all our photos live in the iCloud.

Good product, bad app

Loyal customer who wasted multiple hours putting together an order that won’t process in the mobile app because photos won’t upload properly, complete waste of my time, and nothing offered other than report a bug and having to start order from scratch. Usually very satisfied with NPL as their product is very high quality but not sure I’ll be a returning customer using the app after this experience.

Best quality of pictures

I was looking for a place that gives you the quality of professional pictures and thanks to a dear friend, I finally for it. I’ve been getting my prints for over a year and I have been pleased every time

I’ve been using their service for years and have never ever been disappointed! I’m a photographer and I tried many companies before I found nations and I just love the quality of their prints! Highly recommend!

Superb

Easy to set up an order on their website or through the app, prints look fantastic, and are shipped promptly. Most important, and a detail some print services skip, prints are shipped in robust cardboard packaging rather than an envelope. My prints arrived in perfect shape despite the box sitting on my porch in near freezing rain.

Love this app!

I love that I can pick any picture in my library and turn it into a wall art in minutes! Love this so much! Found the right size for my frames and they look amazing in my walls. Easy to navigate and pick the right size you need!

I’ve used this company for years.... they have never failed me.... they are willing to print the not so perfect picture that I submit, because it’s the only one that could be gotten... they always make it a good one!!! Thank you for that!!!!
