Good but needs much more pencil support
The audio features are great and really helpful. It makes notetaking for lectures much easier and I am really glad I have a subscription. I really wish it had more drawing functionality. I like to draw on top of my typed notes, draw arrows between things, and make other small notes. The ability to use boxes for drawing is essentially useless for me and that is the only drawing functionality this app has. I also wish it was easier to add notes without the time stamp later. If I’m listening to the recording but want to go and add another bullet somewhere, I have to bring the recording all the way back to the beginning unless I want to add an additional timestamp. This is annoying when users could just be able to delete time stamps if they want.

Mediocre experience
The fact that dictation processing happens in the cloud and requires a subscription is really annoying. The user interface has a bewildering number of buttons and it isn’t instantly clear what each button does. Most bring up new menus with too many options. There’s things like a gear menu and a hamburger menu visible at the same time, or a record button and a microphone button on the same screen. If your cursor is in a text field, you still may need to manually open a keyboard. Dumb design choices are everywhere. I frequently found myself wondering how to do something as simple add text or god-forbid dictate to the dictation app. Mind you, I could figure it out after some tinkering, but this is a note taking app and it shouldn’t need a tutorial or a manual. No one needs half these features. The features that are needed aren’t the design priority. This is shoddily done. These people aren’t selling an app, they’re allowing you to pay them to keep developing their half-baked project. They got me suckered into a free trial and I still couldn’t find the premium features. Yikes.

The best note taking app available
I truly believe this app is the perfect app for anyone in school or who is in a professional atmosphere where note taking is important- honestly you could even expand that to include anyone, using this app to organize their day to day life in general. I love how organized you can be, recordings, text notes, pictures all set into specific notebooks. There was an issue I had where I had accidentally placed my recordings from one of my notebooks into the “archives” and I could no longer share them with my classmates or continue to use them in the way I had been. I could not for the life of me figure out how to move them back into the folder I had intended them to be in, so I sent an email to support and they got right back to me explaining how to fix the issue! I was very impressed to say the least:)

NOT for TRANSCRIPTION - What’s the purpose again?
I’m sure the app can do something useful for a certain population subset, but that target audience just doesn’t include me. So disappointing. I thought the purpose of this app was TRANSCRIPTION (with some extra tag features to find important audio info quickly). When I read the app description prior to download, I had a picture in my mind that was completely different than the actual app. For those with poor verbal memory, like me, I thought I would be able to read an article out loud or record someone speaking, and the app would do a better than average job understanding and transcribing the audio into written type. Uh, Nope. Transcription is such a non-strategic part of the app that the owners had to write how to get a transcription of a recorded audio. I followed those directions and still couldn’t get the app to transcribe. I could search more or contact the developer, but it really should not be this difficult. This is what I thought would happen… Push a button. Record. Either transcribe while the person is speaking or…Push another button. Transcribe. Unless I use dictation, instead of record, I have yet to get the app to transcribe the audio. BTW, using the dictate microphone instead of record means you CANNOT SWITCH APPS to read the article you want to record. Hmmm.

Where is the Support
I recently download the Noted app. Tried it at church on Easter Sunday, 4-1-18 and and was pleased even though it requires some additional practice to fully understand the features. On Sunday 4-8-18 I tried using it again to record and take notes at a conference. It seemed to work, but then later it disappeared. Actually both of the notes/recording disappeared. Then Yesterday they reappeared. Now today they disappeared again. Frustrated I tried to find support. Went back to the App Store found “?” which led me to a promotional site, which was no help at all. I am now asking where are my notebooks and where is the support for this app. I will be glad to update my rating and my review when I get answers and hopefully my notes and recording back. Bert

Great potential, a joy to use
It’s a joy to use this application. This Noted iOS app puts audio notes front and center and makes the audio location explicit and easy to jump back to. I can listen to my audio books, annotate them and easily find the interesting sections again later. And when listening to a recording again, I can now finally see my previous notes and edit them as necessary or add anything missing. Let’s just hope that this app will be further improved and supported for many years, which sadly doesn’t seem to be the norm with mobile apps of this category. A missing feature that I cannot live without is audio controls on lock screen (rewind/fast-forward by x seconds)

My favorite note taking app ♥️
I adore Noted! It’s simple, fast and makes capturing my thoughts on a whim a breeze. I use it as my short term memory tool. I store everything in there from time tagged meeting recordings via iOS and Apple Watch to more in depth planning and scheduling via the Mac app. Recently I had an issue with the new dictation feature on iOS not working for me, and their support was able to help me out and get the issue sorted in a matter of hours. (Turns out it’s a weird glitch in iOS rather than the app; if dictation isn’t working for you try disabling your dictation language in iOS’ settings and re-enabling it, fixed things up for me and dictation works flawlessly now.)

This app changed my entire workflow
LOVE Noted+. Really, they have seriously changed the game for me in regards to note taking, dictation and referencing. As a project manager, it literally cuts down my time reviewing notes by more than 75% and I never miss important details (I actually capture way more of them!) The Apple Watch version is also on point. I honestly don’t even remember how things were before I found this app. I cant rave about it enough. Blows ALL other note taking apps OUT of the water. I cant wait to see what they have in store for its future. A special thanks to Rachael from the support team who recently helped me renew my yearly subscription! Thanks Rachael!

College Notebook
As a college student using this as my lecture notebook for multiple classes I have found that there is a lot that this app can and can’t do. You can gracefully drop screenshots into your notes, easily review lecture notes and audio, and scroll between different subjects very quickly. The best feature is having all your notes together in one convenient place! But as I continue to use the app more I wish that it could do more things like change font types and colors, insert PDFs, and allow you to format your notes in any different way than everything to the right. I plan to continue using my subscription but I hope there will be an update that will allow me to do those things!

Noted Plus
If you are a creative; ie, if you have spur of the moment ideas that need to translate into action or something that needs to come alive in this realm (not like an ogre or something, but it very well could be) then You need to Subscribe to Noted+…by all means save your money because 190 banks are in the midst of failing…. And if you worry about that kind of thing you probably shouldn’t worry about anything but the freee version. But if you invest in yourself and like your ideas and want to eventually bring your thoughts to this dimension later in the day week month or marketing campaign then trust and believe you me there is a price point affordable for you.

A fantastic lecture note/recording app
And very knowledgeable, personal, prompt customer support. I am not a techie, but I do rely on my iPad to be my do all. Noted fits everything I want in a lecture recording/note taking app - it is simple to run, simple to reference, complete re-play of the lectures, and I can print or use my pencil taking notes. It is sophisticated app. When I did have problems opening the app, customer support was quick to diagnose the problem and update the app. Everything is backed up in iCloud, so no worries if things go really wrong. I would recommend the subscription; for just a few dollars, I get no worries and great lecture review ability. - Dr. J. Osborn

Record online meetings audio
I like this app, I used it for last couple of days at office recording meetings, adding tags at key points, then going back to listen to audio to fill in the details. Allows me to discus with out worrying about missing something important. A lot of my meetings are over Skype for Business, or Zoom, Microsoft Teams will be coming in next month to replace Skype for Business. Love for this to record my call made on my iPad Pro 11” 2018 using my headset and mic. I have dongle for wired headset and mic, but would also love to use over Bluetooth headsets. Also, and I see it mentioned in FAQ, yes some of us do read them, Transcribing Audio would be awesome.! Also, more sharing abilities, especially with those not on iOS or MacOS. Ability to share text and audio with the tags with my PC office mates would be terrific. May need a Windows version or at least an HTML 5 Browser edition to do that I imagine. Keep up good work, I look forward to your updates to this useful app.

App Review: Noted
I've been using Noted for a while now, and I have to say, it's been a game-changer for me. The way it transcribes text is spot on. I don't have to worry about missing any important details during meetings anymore. Plus, the options for recording meetings are super detailed. It really helps keep everything organized. As a lifetime subscriber, I've been really happy with the regular updates. The app keeps getting better and better. One thing that would make it perfect is a feature to summarize meetings. That would save even more time. Keep up the great work!

The Struggles of a Subpar Note-Taking App
I regret to say that this might be one of the least user-friendly note-taking apps I've ever encountered. I opted for the lifetime subscription, but it turned out to be a disappointment. For starters, the experience of writing while recording is incredibly awkward; you're confined to typing in a tiny square box. Although it can be expanded, it's utterly illogical. Essentially, it's impossible to comfortably write in the note. Adding hashtags was another cumbersome task. Furthermore, the translation feature was a letdown; only the basic level functioned, while the AI intermediate and advanced levels were ineffective, and the translation process was excruciatingly slow. I've decided to seek a refund, as there are simpler, more streamlined apps available that offer a much smoother experience.

Lacking for my scenario
I was hoping noted would bridge audio recordings and text based notes by enabling capture of audio on watch and then help transcribing this into text based notes. Unfortunately it doesn’t appear to support this scenario currently. It seems more tuned to typing in notes while recording and cross referencing the two which isn’t a scenario I personally use much. There are other small niggles eg not supporting apple keyboard for iPad to control note playback (eg space bar play pause). Watch app doesn’t appear to support recording / playback from AirPods unlike the built in voice recorder. Can’t recommend for my personal scenarios, hope these points are addressed.

Meaningful recordings
I’ve gone on a quest to reduce the number of apps that I have on my phone, and keep only the ones that make sense to me. This app is one that makes sense because it gives context to any recording you take in your life. Rather than having to search through all kinds of recordings from the past and figure out which important topic was said when, Noted makes it easy for you to parse out key bits while keeping entire recordings as back ups. Fantastic support as well, and app will continue to be part of my workflow. Look forward to future updates!

It’s not free, there are zero free features whatsoever
You simply cannot use this app at all unless you subscribe. So the fact that it’s editor recommended and listed as free is a complete joke. I can’t even look at the interface without choosing a subscription, which I have zero interest in subscribing for such a ridiculous price when this was marketed to me as a free app. That means there should be at least ONE free feature. I open the app and am immediately met with a pop up that has no X to exit from that says to pick a sub. Don’t be conned by these con artists. They know exactly what they are doing. They want you to accidentally forget you got the free trial for their app that is a glorified voice memos. Which you have for free on your phone babes. Not worth it

Seemed promising
App seemed promising as it has all the right features that I need, but it is extremely buggy. CMD+Z doesn’t undo - you have to use the on screen button, which requires several taps to uncover. The devs suggested I update my iPad and the app - my things stay updated and all issues have followed me across two iPads and multiple reinstalls. Copy and paste operations will sometimes shift bullets across the entire document, so you no longer know what’s a bullet, what’s a sub bullet, etc. In the first week I spent hours fixing issues caused by the app. Ended up requesting a refund. The app is not suitable for use in a fast-paced lecture environment. The features are great, but unfortunately plagued by issues.

Undo is Too Close to "O" and "P"
Loved this app. Tried it out on a whim and quickly made four recordings and will more than likely buy the full version. The premise is great - being able to write notes and see the timestamps while you're recording, to be specific. I have yet to explore the full extents of the app, and I'm excited. However, my only complaint so far is that "undo" is too close to the "O" and "P" keys. And it doesn't just delete one letter; it depends sections. I take short, concise notes that extend to four lines. If I over-extend and press that button accidentally, I lose a significant amount of data. If I didn't develop a habit of capturing screenshots, there's plenty of information I never would have captured. And it cost money to be able to create more than a handful of notes? Please fix this. Add a "redo" button if anything. Whatever's easiest. It's a stain on what's otherwise a stellar app. I won't feel comfortable purchasing the full version until then. 😕

Good app, horrible support
Actually, I have no problem with the app, at least not so far. My problem comes from having a different facing the images shown here on the site. I wanted to understand what the icons were for so I came here to see and there’s nothing I went to their website and there’s nothing. They have a users guide, but there’s no pictures, no explanation of icons, and the “Contact Us” button does not work. For an app with all of these accolades, and good - great reviews, you’d think they could afford a Customer Service department or at least some photos with explanations. It is in my frustration that I’m writing this review so 2 stars is all I can give.

So glad that I’ve discovered it!, so much potential
I was looking for an app like this a time ago, to efficiently jot down notes whilst capturing audio, and notes does it marvelously, tagging is amazing, I can easily go back to the moments in a lecture, conference or meeting that were important. The only negative side of notes is unfortunately the monetizing model of subscription based (vs one time payment), sure we can understand and have arguments about the profitability model, but it this market of cluttered apps, the subscription based model has become a bit overwhelming.

Almost perfect
Works well, I like the audio tagging a lot, and the Home Screen widget is a good reminder for me to journal more. The fact that I can both ramble via audio and create a succinct overview immediately after is a game changer for me. One thing that I would love to see in the future is collaborative notebooks. Connecting in new ways with loved ones has become a priority during the pandemic, and I feel your app could easily allow parents, siblings, distant friends and relatives, etc. to keep up on each other’s lives in a more personal way. Love this app overall, keep up the good work!

Oops—I was hasty and gave it five stars but... No looping?
It’s amazing as is, but what I need it for most often (Writing and/or learning my own lyrics and melodies.) requires looping the audio file. Full file would be GREAT, but an A-B Loop option would be SUPER AWESOME!—That would deserve a 10 Star rating! I do have audio editing apps for that, but this would blow those out of the water for various reasons. Also, exporting audio as a video file directly to the photo app (Something they also do.) would be the ultimate third feature I’d like to see added to this, otherwise, it’s a great app.

Not much a review but a request
I like the app and it gives me a one time payment option for a lifetime subscription which I am willing to pay but I don’t want to enter my credit card information in my iPhone. I looked on your website if I could pay there but the lifetime subscription option is not showing on your website. If you can find a way for me to pay you the one time lifetime subscription amount, that would be awesome. Thanks!

Apple Watch Problems
It is taking a long time to sync my Apple Watch recordings to the iPhone. Even with the Apple Watch recharging. Second, the Apple Watch app should record from AirPod pros when they are being worn as the native Apple recorder would do. Instead it is recording from my watch which means it is almost completely in Audible. To make this work I would have to raise the watch to my mouth when I'm working out at the gym which is not practical. third I have not found any way to move my recordings from the Watch folder to the custom folders on my account. They all are just marooned in the Watch folder forever which is not ideal.

Lifetime subscriber
I’m glad I got a lifetime subscription. I wish this had 2 features which would make this app the best in the AppStore. 1. The app or the AI recognizes that there are x number of people in the discussion of meeting. And then the transcription be done like Person 1: says so and so person 2: says so and so. And let the user give name to the person. This way the notes will show real meeting minutes on who said what. 2. Way to do a 1 click send via email.

Was great at first, then got much worse.
So in the beginning of having this app, I did the one week free trial and it was great. The app was very responsive and never froze. Now, after having purchased the year subscription, the app is now: - Slow to respond to touch - Freezes after taking pictures - Freezes when typing - Freezes in camera when trying to cancel - Keyboard glitches out after coming back from taking a picture - Not even touching the screen and still freezes (can tell it is freezing because the time stops counting on the recording) - No time stamps happens when there are empty lines past where the cursor is - Highlighting is slow to respond to dragging If these things get fixed and these things added, then I might consider paying for another subscription period. - Should be able to back out of a note that is recording to look at another note and still stay recording - More colors to highlights - Audio connected to each word, not line

Such a great tool that I wanted years ago
This app reminds me of Livescribe where you were able take written notes and replay conversation that happened during the time you wrote something. One thing that would make this a killer app is to add the option of recording computer audio on top of whatever mic you have. This would allow you to capture conversation in a conference call while having headphones on. That’s how this app gets to 5 stars for me.

It looked like what I wanted
Edit: I gave this app another chance because I need to find a dictation and transcribing app that actually WORKS, and it still doesn’t work. It picked up my voice for one or two words and can’t hear anything else. I don’t understand. I am a consulting attorney in desperate need of an app that actually does decent dictation of me or a streaming video. The dictation of a video on this was scary bad, some of the worst I’ve seen, ESPECIALLY considering the subscription price. It recorded one line, deleted half of it, then randomly picked up a word or 2, and deleted one of those two. Needs major improvement and I really hoped I finally found a good one.

Audio Visual Learning Fully Engaged
This is what’s been missing and I never believed no key had anything of the sort. And out of nowhere, boom! The app is incredibly easy to use and well thought through. All the way down to the EQ, which helps you sharpen room sound which is not always the best right? The genius here is the ease of use and accessibility of the “#” key. It simply changed my note taking experience, including capturing those illisible ideas I have when writing a screenplay! Kudos guys!

Faulty App+ unresponsive customer care
Recordings are often stuck in “preparing your audio mode” forever (!) which means that one can’t listen to them and/or transfer them. Consumer services are totally unresponsive. I have emailed them twice with two different issues (the first one was why don't they allow us to transfer multiple recordings at once? Why do they only allow one at a time? The second was about the recording that got stack) but didn't get a single response to any of them!!! Not happy at all! I wanted to support this developer but it turns out to be a lemon.

Needs more features
This is a good app so far, but it misses some features that would normally be included in other notetaking apps. The first one is the ability to indent bullet points. When you’re writing notes, it’s usually a given that you’ll have nested bullet points, but this app doesn’t allow for that. There should be more headings, even customizable ones. The highlighting on iPad is very buggy, as in sometimes it won’t highlight something I select. It also doesn’t highlight any tagged words. Overall, this app is good, but missing some key features.

The Best ❤️
I really like this App. I like the design and functionality. I’d like to request an additional feature such as the possibility to link to calendar, and/or to give a date to a note. I record everything that is important to me, and also as TO DO, and future appointments. If the notes within a Notebook (Monthly notebooks for me), would be excellent. Thank you for your time and congratulations on you App.

Great Note Taking App for VoiceOver Users
I have been waiting for a VoiceOver accessible app with this functionality for quite a while now. With a recent update, VoiceOver users can now record and take text notes at the same time quite easily. I also love how easy it is to quickly jump to any point in the recording from anywhere in the text. Where was this app when I was in college many years ago...?

My Experience With Noted Thus Far
I was excited to find this app on my new iPad. After having read all that i found I decided to give it a try. It seems like it has most of the features I need; however, I cannot seem to make them work in concert. What i want to do is dictate my papers and record what i say while seeing the text of what I have said. I then want to export that text into Microsoft Word. I have given up trying to do that although the product information seems to say it is possible. I have sent 4-5 emails trying to get support for Noted. I have come to the conclusion there is NONE, NADA, ZERO !! There is not even a bot to let me know my emails are ever going to be answered. I wish the developer had a chat feature but there is none. I wish there was suitable documentation but there is none. I wish the developer would raise their prices to hire customer support personnel; but, … well you know. Jon Moore

Great App but it Consistently Delays
The app is amazing and makes taking notes as student much easier, but the app consistently freezes when I switch between pages. Maybe it has to do with the length of my recordings (lectures) but with the purpose of this app, I think its functionality should account for and be able to handle that. Otherwise, a great and innovative app!

They should have a bunch video tutorial, which you cannot find online, I was hoping you could! Seems pretty complicated! All I want is to see my actual conversation on the screen, but all I get is a bunch of hashtags, I actually don’t get anything because I can’t figure it out! Feature Request!
The fact that I can have recordings with my notes can be helpful in many instances so I’m enjoying this app so far but it’d be great if there was a Dark/Night theme so my eyes aren’t being strained when in a darker setting. Also, being able to change the text size of the body of text within the settings of the app would be welcomed.

Good for students, but not as a personal notes app
For all personal (non-academic) use cases I've had, Noted falls sort of my preferred notes app: Bear. However, the user interface is beautiful and the audio recording feature would probably be very useful if I were still in school, or working as a medical scribe or something. One major recommendation to the developers: if you allowed for sub-notebooks within other notebooks, or folders, for additional levels of organization, I would consider paying $30/year for this to use it for my work-related notes. For now though, I use Bear as my personal notes app / writing app, and I use OneNote for work notes since it has that multi-layer notebook/folder functionality. Well executed overall though.

Greatest note taking app
Greatest note taking app that I have seen so far on iOS. My favorite feature is that I can back to a certain point by just searching for the keywords and clicking on it, and boom I am at that exact point of the recording. This is definitely a game changer for you if you are struggling to keep your notes and recording organized.

Great Tool
This is a great tool, and a very affordable one. It actually learns words as you correct them, so when you have an odd one you can highlight it, type in the correction, and next time you say it the app knows what it’s supposed to be. It’s not perfect, but for the price the quality is awesome. Highly recommend.

One tap recording gone?
Still a great app but what happened to the one tap recording start? Now it just opens the app and you have to fiddle around opening a folder then starting it. Please add feature to automatically start the speech to text every time. Starting it is another button press. When trying not to forget something, less taps to entry please. One tap record and voice to speech.
