The app has been ok up until the weekends. Spending info doesn’t update fast enough and there’s not enough information even when it does. Oh, you have a pending transaction for $100? Well, you won’t know what you spent that on until Tuesday. All you get is a pending transaction and the amount spent; no time, no date, no info on where you spent that money. First Midwest Bank’s app had all of that info the second you swiped your card. Please add these features. Until then this app is a 1 star for me
I’m sooooo sick of ONB and all these glitches they have for various things. It’s been a nightmare ever since the changeover from FMB… literally one of the worst experiences of my life. It’s the ongoing, ever changing, constant issue of one thing after another. This time, check deposit doesn’t work and hasn’t worked for at least three weeks now. As soon as you get to the point where you would normally take a picture to deposit a check, that’s where it happens. Tells you to rotate your camera. You rotate it. Tells you to rotate it again. Where? Back to my original position where you first told me to rotate it? Yes. And it doesn’t like any position you’re in. You never actually get to the point where you can take the pictures you want. Also kicks you out of going backwards so you have to kill the entire app, open it again, and go back into the check deposit just to start all over. It’s. Always. Something. And. I’m. Over. It.
When I use this app for a check deposit, it will not recognize that I have “rotated my device” in order to take a picture of my check. VERY inconvenient! Every once in a blue moon, after rotating it every which way, it will go to camera mode. Yesterday I had 2 checks to deposit. It was 6 minutes before I was able to snap a picture of my check. When I tried to deposit the other check, it was the same problem all over again. This time, the camera was never able to come into focus, and I was logged out automatically for inactivity. Also, when there is a pending transaction, it does not list the vendor. If I don’t recognize the amount it panics me, as I have had my account compromised before. NOT a good feeling.
The pending transactions should show you where it’s pending from. Every other bank app I’ve used, shows you the merchant that is accessing your account. Also, the current and available balances can get confusing. The app is not very easy to read. zelle should be able to have access to your contacts and not have a minimum of $10 to send out. Zelle with the First Midwest Bank app didn’t have a minimum. If I need to send a “test” zelle to someone, I have to send $10? That’s a bit much, don’t you think? Transfers from your own accounts after 9pm are not available right away either. What if I’m out late and need to transfer funds over to cover my expenses? ONB did not do proper research in the Chicago market before acquiring First Midwest.
Everyone I have talked to with iOS16 on their iPhones are not able to use the check deposit feature. I spoke with our local bank (30 minutes away) and they said they have heard of the issue but couldn’t help me. They gave me the cooperate number to call since this has been happening for 2 weeks now. Cooperate said they hadn’t heard of any problems with their app and it had to be my iPhones and iPads (6 total in my home). Later she said maybe 2 in every 1000 people are having issues. I said I could name 5 right now not counting my family. Needless to say they were absolutely NO HELP! I’ll be looking for a closer bank if they don’t get this fixed soon. Hopefully the bank I switch to won’t be closing the local branch like Old National did.
I am trying to mobile deposit a check in the ONB bank app and it is saying to rotate the phone but the screen doesn’t do anything. My Daughter and one other person is having the same issue. Apple support said the app hasn’t been updated for a month. Can you look at this issue so we are able to deposit a check?
This has been the hardest transition I have ver been through, cards not working / or cards getting turned off when I use them at the same places I have always been going to. For one this morning I had to stop and get gas at a place I have always stopped and got it at. I tried to use the tap and go and it wouldn’t let me so I stuck it in and then it declined the card. Thankfully I had another card I could use for gas where it was 4am in the morning and no one was around and I was almost on e. If you call the number your on waiting for over 30 minutes. When use to call and talk to someone friendly most of the time you know the person that you are talking to. I’ll probably end up switching my banking with another
The changeover from First Midwest to Old National has been a nightmare all around. Its just constant issues since. Not being able to see what pending transactions are, not being able to see past statements before the merge, app not working correctly. It's all extremely frustrating. The app keeps telling me to rotate my device when I get to the point of taking a picture for mobile deposits. Hasn't worked for probably 2 months now. It's really inconvenient because I'm not very close to an Old National to make in person deposits frequently. I'm seeing and hearing from alot of people with the same issues. It doesn't seem like ONB cares enough to fix any of them. I'll be switching banks.
I really appreciate this app. I use it all of the time. First off, I don’t give 5’s. This would be a 4 star if it weren’t for one thing which I have discussed with the branch manager of my branch and they acknowledged that other customers agree. The issue is that the app does not take away immediately or add immediately after a bill pay or a deposit. It waits until after it clears. This is not what competitors do. Once you make the transaction on competitors it shows up, changes the balance and shows as pending until it clears the bank. The Old National app procedure is not good.
1. it doesn’t show your recent purchases until like a day after, so you can’t even tell how much money is actually in your account. First Midwest always showed it immediately after. 2. I’ve gotten “sorry we can’t display your account info at this time” pop ups when I login about 4 separate days over the past month. This is a major issue, I can’t see anything related to my account including amount of money I have, if a check went through, purchases I’ve made etc. This is the absolute worst bank and bank app I’ve had, and this is my third bank. Genuinely don’t know how their rating is 4.7.
I have tried for two days to scan a check in for deposit. I’ve never had issues until two days ago. It keeps telling me to rotate my phone. My phone acknowledges that I’ve rotated it but the app doesn’t. This needs fixed ASAP. Others are experiencing the same issue. I’ve been a long time customer of ONB but this will cause me to find another bank considering I’m not immediately near a bank to do a deposit on site. The banks site advertises mobile banking and the option to electronically deposit checks via app but if it’s not working it isn’t a honest advertisement.
You can check your balances which is good but the notifications are horrible. They are either very delayed or non existent. With Chime mobile banking I don’t have that problem. It’s instant. ONB also needs to get with the times and and virtual card support. There are many perks to having that available to use online for accounts rather than the physical card because it takes 6-10 days to get a replacement unlike resetting a virtual card number instantly.
I had this app for a while and it worked great but I recently had gotten a new phone and downloaded the app and they needed to confirm my identity in a text or call. It would not let me click on the text option so I tried the calling option and even after multiple tries it kept saying “unable to confirm my identity at this time.” So I’m not even able to see my account information now unless I go to the bank or login through their website. I also tried fixing it through their help suggestions and it still wouldn’t work. I’d suggest the app if it would actually work for me
There are a couple issues that I have with this app. First, the pending transactions need to be viewable. I want to be able to see what the charges are so I can make sure it was me who made the purchase. Second, when I try to deposit a check the camera doesn't work correctly. It takes multiple tries for me to get it to finally work. Other than that, the app is fine. Please fix these issues. Thank you.
Hoping to get some resolution from the developer! App is great but there seems to be some malfunction with the check deposit portion. Won’t allow me to take a photo of the check. Screen freezes. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and I’m running on newest iOS. I have deleted and reinstalled app, updated to newest version and iOS. Not sure what else to do to get it to work.
I had this bank originally my mom used to have it and figured why not it was close to home and convenient. The lady who set up my account was so angry for some reason for gods sake I was opening an account. I had issues with the mobile checking, the transactions always show pending and never showed me where they originated from. It’s a wish washy bank if you want to be valued as a customer bank elsewhere. They pride themselves on the one bank for all, they are not. I encourage you to look elsewhere as their customer service is horrible, both in person and on the phone.
The app won’t allow me to do a mobile check deposit. I get a prompt saying “rotate your device…..” but nothing happens when I rotate my iPhone. I called customer service and they said it’s a known issue that will not be fixed until end of this year. This is very disappointing. Never experienced any problems with first Midwest bank app. ONB needs to get its act together.
I switched to a new iPhone 11 Pro Max. When I try to login, it wants me to confirm with a phone call. The text message option is grayed out. As soon as you hit the call button, it immediately says it couldn’t call. Tried dozens of times over a week. App is broken. Everything works fine on website.
Instead of saying pending transactions, you should show the customer where the charge is coming from. It would help the customer to cancel the card if they see charges at a place they were not at instead of waiting like one or two days to see where the charge was and then it’s to late. So if card was stolen multiple charges need to be fixed That’s the purpose of having mobile so u can see right away.
Hi! I have been using your app to deposit checks for about a month straight without an issue, but two days ago and today I have found that I cannot deposit any checks because the app won’t recognize when I have rotated my phone to take a photo of the front of the check, consequently I am stuck with a screen that won’t shift to taking the picture.
In 2019, I just feel that an app should be quicker to post transaction information that reassures the user of the exact location in which the card was charged. Some of these transactions sit as pending for days, which is fine, but should at lease show the merchant in the description while pending. My wife uses my card more than I do so I like to see exactly what was spent for budget and I also was hacked on this account a couple years back.
The changeover from First Midwest to Old National was abysmal and I’m trying to be nice. NOW Zelle doesn’t work, nor does external transfers. Just get a blank screen. I set up bill pay and they charged me $10 for the transaction but NEVER SENT THE CHECK. So can’t trust their bill pay either. (And they have the audacity to try to charge me for stopping payment on a check they never wrote or sent.) Basically once your money is in your account it’s stuck there, you can’t Zelle it, external transfer funds or use Bill Pay and not just this app but their website as well. Avoid this bank at all costs, their app is indicative of the type of “service” you’ll get from them in any form. Read their reviews online, you’ll run towards any other bank after reading those. Such a shame to lose a really excellent bank (First Midwest) for this travesty of a bank. Fix the Zelle already!
Every time I try to login on my iPhone they have to text me. That’s fine if it would come in a timely manner. By the time the text comes it’s so long after I try to login that the app times out and I get the same message. Ive gotten 4 texts today but have been unable to login due to the delay. Last night I wanted to transfer $$ to an outside account that I registered. It said they would send me an email to verify my identity. That was 20 hours ago , no email yet. I also checked spam folder.
Pending transactions sit there for days on end, and are never labeled as to what they are/where they’re from. My local doctor’s office has repeated issues with taking my payment and they said they have the same issue with any patient trying to use ONB cards for payments. This app needs to be updated/corrected. There are a ton of reviews here, ALL citing the same issues I have, and even more. Is anyone there paying attention to the input you’re receiving from your customers?? Looking at removing my $$ and finding another place to entrust my funds with.
This app is need of a major overhaul. I’ve personally had prepaid cards with apps that update with in seconds of a transaction. I’ve see this app take days to update. Completed transactions on one end show pending on this app days later. I’ve always been under the impression that banks help manage your money. This app causes chaos when it comes to financial planning. I understand that apps have there technical issues. But when it comes to a person’s money, this app should run almost flawlessly. I’m currently considering other banks just because of this app.
love the app!!! besides the latest update is not working when you try to mobile deposit a check. it keeps telling me to rotate my phone to take a picture of the check, but as I do rotate my phone, the camera never shows up. disappointed because I used mobile deposit a lot! please switch back to the old system!
Neither my husband or I can make mobile deposits as on Oct 2022. When we click on the camera icon to take the photo the screen is very fuzzy and tells us to rotate our camera, which it already is. We’ve always done mobile deposits in the past. Customer service tells us to uninstall and then reinstall the app. Done that multiple times but doesn’t work. Checked settings, they’re all good. CS told us we can go into a bank to make the deposit. That kind of defeats the purpose of an online mobile deposit.
Seems this has been an ongoing issue for over a month now and they’ve not fixed the issue yet. First Midwest Bank NEVER had issues with their mobile banking app and they were a smaller company. This is unacceptable in today’s tech world. I hope they fix this quicker than the issues they had when they switched over hundreds of thousands of customers from FMB. I NEED this option as I do not have time to run to the bank every time I need to deposit a check!
So far so good. The only thing I dislike 100% is that it doesn’t show where your pending charges are from. That’s hard when you have multiple people on one account. I don’t want to have to ask where you spent such and such when balancing my check book
Since the most recent update I am no longer able to use the mobile deposit portion of the app. It keeps telling me to rotate phone when I try to take a photo of a check. I have tried to rotate the phone numerous times in different directions but it does not work. Spoke with local branch and was told the “trick” to get the app to function correctly- did not help. They also report that this has affected other banks who use same app builder. Prior to this update it was a 5 star app- now it is a 1. Please fix!
As I have seen with many other reviewers, the app will no longer support check deposits on my iPhone. It will not recognize my camera. I called the bank, they have no clue if or when the issue with the app will be resolved. With so many customers being dependent on mobile banking, one would think this would be a priority. Another reason why I am looking for a new bank. Nothing but issues since the First Midwest merge, this bank truly has the worst service, and their app is old and outdated.
I’ve been having this issue for several months. Every time I select the option to deposit a check, it says to rotate my device and to take a picture. I rotate, and took my phone off the orientation lock, but it still doesn’t register that it’s rotated. The screen is blurred and you can see that the camera function is on, but it still doesn’t let me take a picture of the check to deposit. I have an iPhone 14 with the latest iOS and my app is up to date. Please fix.
I was a 1st Midwest customer. The transfer was said to go smoothly. I tried following the instructions last year before the deadline. I could not sign up. did all the steps and honestly don’t remember why but? This year? still cannot sign up. I will NOT give SSN over the phone verbally or through an APP! Sad part is, last year I was actually in search of a new bank, but after the rude customer service person when I called last year trying to get access. I chose not to use this bank.
I’ve been using the ONB app for about a year now. It has made my life a lot easier. I travel a lot and this way I can keep track of all my business and personal checking and savings accounts. It’s easy to use. I often use bill payment on the app, I can transfer money and pay other bills. So, I highly recommend it.
I like the personal old way of being able to walk in and discuss banking with real people as well as the modern advantage of doing things drive up and more online. I believe Old National has found a way to meet both of those personal and business banking needs.
I don't like your app totally because I can't do everything on the app that I can do on the website until you finish that problem it's not totally a five star for me. Also I think that your app should show where outstanding checks are once I send a check and before it's cash
You check depositing feature has been broken on this app for at least three weeks. This is unacceptable. When I try and take a picture of the check (front and back), I get a blurry screen that says rotate your device. It’s not just me because it’s also happening on my husband’s app. Please fix or we will be forced to go with another bank. Another reason I rated at one star is because the history of my purchases and transactions doesn’t go back far enough.
I love the convenience of the mobile app! Especially mobile deposit. One suggestion I would like to make, if possible, would be on remote deposits to be able to also see a copy of the check on our online transaction history as well as the amount.
We just merged from first Midwest and we can’t stand the set up of this app. Our old bank showed where the pending purchases were from..this is important because in the past we’ve had are info stolen and if I can’t see where purchases were from while pending I don’t know if they’re mine, my husbands, or fraud. They don’t show up until they are accounted for. So If I need to stop or cancel something, I can’t see where it’s from
I love the convenience of the app and bill pay, but wish the calendar (when you schedule bill pay or make a payment) was an actual calendar or at least had the week day with it. It’s hard to know if you or picking a non business day when looking at date only. Other than that, I really like the app function.
On line was just a convenience until my bank moved out of town. I used direct deposit until I didn’t but that was ok cause I used my mobile and they left the ATM so I got cash with no charge. Now there’s no bank and no ATM but that’s ok. I moved away so now I use my mobile for deposits and Walmart for cash back. It’s all good. TY
The app is amazing. I spend 75% less time paying bills and monitoring my accounts due to the app! I love the check deposit function and bill pay and basically all of it! Also, when I use my debit card I am notified I order to ensure security.
Some screens the app shows you are not compatible with a phone and, after spending 30 min filling out forms to open an account in the app it wouldn’t let me do the last step because it requires a computer screen for no reason. Also, linking credit cards to manage them in the app is a dumpster fire. Totally worthless.
I’ve been with this bank for over 20 years and this is absolutely ridiculous. We are going on almost 30 days and they still have not updated this app. The mobile deposit part of it is broken and you cannot deposit your checks through the phone. The last update has been over nine months to this bank just all of a sudden forget that a large part of their clientele in today’s age use the mobile version.
I called customer service yesterday morning so they know about the issue. It doesn’t scan the photo of the checks. It has been an issue for about five days now.
First Midwest bank never did me wrong but since the take over from old national I can’t specifically identify what charges are associated with where or we’ll any detail for that matter other than which card was used. Not much of a way to see spending and check to make sure everything looks right when it looks wrong from the beginning.
Old National is a great bank overall, except they keep acquiring and closing branches. I’m very frustrated about that. I’ve been with them a number of years. One problem is that they have closed all the easily accessible ones close to me. The reason for the low review is the last update. This last update has been a nightmare trying to deposit checks. Apparently several are experiencing issues, but nothing is being done. So irritating.
I use the app almost every day and it does almost everything I want. It used to show my mortgage account too. Why is that gone? Also, I very much like the switch to showing available balance larger. Please make the same change on the Apple Watch.
I was with First-Midwest when I transferred to ONB and it has been great so far. The only bad thing about this app is that it takes too long to update your payments usually, and sometimes I can’t see cash spent and deposited for hours after I make a purchase, withdrawal, or deposit.
I have used the app seamlessly for my personal and business banking until about a month ago. The deposit feature is glitchy and will not allow me to take a picture to do mobile deposit. I gave it some time to be worked out, but we are now 5 weeks into this, which causes me to make near daily trips to my local branch. This will literally cause me to change banks if it’s not fixed soon. Please fix it.
