Gets the job done

This app is a great resource to keep track of my retirement account’s performance. While it doesn’t show me actual statements like when I log into my Mac, it helps me focus on the big picture: I know this month my investment might be down but overall in the last 12 months I’m still on the gain side of things. Great snapshot so I don’t get stuck in the uncertainty. I’ve used it once a month from my iPhone for the last year and it hasn’t given me any issues in log in. The 2-step authentication also helps me maintain peace of mind. Full disclosure, I also have investments in Northwestern Mutual, and the experience is on-par with both.

Please fix the bugs

This is one of the least stable financial apps I’ve used. The two issues bugging me at the moment: 1. When logging in, after 2FA step, I get “There was an unexpected error. Please close the app and try again.” FWIW, I’m traveling outside the US at the moment. But attempted with a US VPN and still no luck. I’ve definitely seen this error while at home too. If the app doesn’t allow login from overseas, fine, but say that. The vague error with zero detail just makes me think the app is faulty. 2. In the settings, I turned on FaceID. But the app forgets this preference almost right away. Next time I open the app it says I need to put the password. I know this happens in my other banking apps, but maybe monthly. This is nonstop with this app. It doesn’t hold the preference for more than a couple days. I figured maybe it needs updates for iOS 17. But I just saw my old review from November and I mentioned the same issues even back then!

Too many issues

This app has so many issues freezes and the formatting issues make it basically useless. It’s takes multiple times to finally access it and now there is a message that I can’t remove once I’m logged in. I doubt anyone at One America has ever used this app otherwise they would realize how useless and dysfunctional it actually is. I’m hoping our organization finds a new option for our retirement plan.

Easy to use

I didn’t have any trouble logging in or navigating the app. I found it intuitive and easy to use. Love being able to change my contribution percentage so quickly!

Potential Improvements

I would love to be able to see the total amount that’s been contributed to the account. Would also love to see a growth chart. This is a long term account, therefore I understand it may be discouraging for some, but it’s nice to see how my account is performing year over year. This is not displayed through the current app, but could be a great improvement! Enjoy seeing the morning star reports, but the overall investments could be improved as well.

Update Carefully

Updates turn off Face ID and require you to log in with your password in order to re-enable it. So, don’t make an update unless you have your password handy. Otherwise, it’s like most of these sorts of apps. You can view your balance, view and change your contribution and investments. The user interface is typical and good enough. As a curious annoyance, you can’t copy numbers out of it. If you want to copy your balance to then paste into some other app, no go.

Just as poor as their web based portal

Doesn’t work right. This company’s interface has been poor on the web with log in issues all the time, poorly conceived navigation traits and now this app just confirms the lack of competent designers. Doesn’t work well with late model iPhone with current iOS. Wish I didn’t need to deal with this company but that’s who my employer picked so it is what it is…frustrating, problematic and time consuming!

An app for those who never look at their 401k

This app is so limited compared to something like Fidelity. I can’t even find the date when my last investment change happened. My company is switching to Fidelity because of this. There’s simply no excuse for hiding detailed and relevant information from clients.

So glitchy the app won’t even open

It takes 5-10 attempts to simply open the app much less sign in to my account. I wish the app had more tools for analysis and tracking. It seems to be a bare bones platform. Some of the features on the app seem to be unnecessary all together.

Useless

This app is almost useless. When it does work I can’t view anything more than the balance and contribution percentage. There is zero functionality. I can’t see or edit beneficiaries, I can’t see Roth vs traditional balances, or view statements.

Does not show my current value if I have a loan

The app does not show my current value of my 401k since I have a loan. This used to work but since last few months this shows negative value.

Forced app update - here we go again!

You FORCE me to update the app for ‘minor bug fixes’ and it now I can’t view account details without the app producing an error and closing. So sick of app developers and their complete negligence when it comes to verifying updates are working properly. STOP FORCING UPDATES!!!

You can view very basic info on the app, but lacks many many functions. Good for checking balance, but otherwise fairly useless

app usability

both the app in the website are not user-friendly at all. They do this weird thing of combining all your accounts together in a ground total and make it impossible to see how your contributions are coming in.

Roth v Traditional

Nice quick access to balances and investments, but functionality is lacking and I cannot access the balance in Roth 401k and balance in Traditional 401k. It’s difficult on website and impossible on app.

It’s a pain to have your password reset. It needs to be dimples even when calling customer service.

Crash

This worked for me before but it won’t anymore. Every time I log in it crashes. I’ve tried deleting the app and installing it again, and nothing :/

Face ID on iPhone regularly disables itself completely. I’m constantly having to look up my password to login because the biometric access is so spotty.

Insufficient info on mobile app

This app doesn’t show the graphical presentation of any period to monitor the movement of the fund which is bit a disappointment. I also use TSP (Thrift Saving Plans) and it’s fantastic as to displays. Very transparent.

Freezes

I started the app and goes directly to the “tour” of using app… then freezes!!! Unable to do anything or go back… no option given to decline the “tour”😡😡😡😡

Can’t login

Can login via website but app does not recognize my login. Help! Update: Apparently the have multiple data centers and they are not all active for the app. Stay Tuned I guess.

Worst Money Management App Ever

This app is horrible. My other money management apps provide way more features, are easy to use, and are way more detailed. Practically useless.

Can’t login

I have an account with OA. I try accessing it via this app to no avail, yet I can access my info on their website using a MAC or PC. Frustrating.

Worst web service I have ever used

Logging in takes me approx 15 minutes every time. It takes 3 seconds for vanguard and fidelity
