This is a great app. It has easy functionality and is aesthetically pleasing. The only complaint I have is that they use very thin fonts without increasing the contrast to help old people be able to read the small type on screen. They need to choose a bold font that doesn’t look bunched together. when reduced for viewing on the app. Also increasing the contrast between the type color and the background would greatly help people with diminished eyesight to use their app more effectively. Bold black type against a very light background would solve the problem. I can hardly read the type on screen it is so light and thin
I do not like the Orion app and at this point it’s making me not even want to continue banking with them. I can’t remember when the update occurred but I’ve been very frustrated since. For one, if you check your balance on your checking account you better actually check to see what’s available because it has a bad habit of reflecting two different numbers and it’s caused me problems with keeping track of my money. It doesn’t update as soon as you make certain transactions, so if you aren’t careful you’ll find yourself trying to figure out how you went wrong. And just recently I transferred money into my account that took TWO days to become available so I had transactions that didn’t go through. Then when it finally reflected, suddenly I’m missing money that I didn’t spend and I’m not seeing where it even went. Just all around frustrated with this bank and their app at this point. I’d be better off with Bank of America
All in all, this is a REALLY good banking app. Comparing to Regions, Orion’s is way better. I like the budget tool, but there are a couple slight changes that need to happen to make it excellent: Each month needs to be independent of the last and next month. When editing a line item, it should not effect the last month. That being said, the way that everything is automatically categorized (you can edit each) is very helpful when creating and maintaining your budget. And it’s all in one app! My wife and I highly recommend utilizing these tools they offer.
I have always been pleased with Orion FCU. They have provided me with exceptional service over the years, including online banking and the app I recently downloaded. What earned my complete loyalty with Orion, was when my accounts were frozen by one of my creditors. Orion contacted me and notified me about the freeze the day it happened. Nothing I could do to stop it, yes - the freeze was warranted. However, that timely notice provided me with the opportunity to pause my deposits and make other arrangements. Everything was straightened out eventually. Thank you Orion!
The app is very straightforward! It is easy for people of all ages to understand. You can do mobile transfers, cancel cards if you need to, and view your all your accounts plus your credit score. You can also submit pictures of checks and it goes in somewhat fast! Highly secure with multiple different verification options, and you get notified when your account has been tried to get logged into or when it has been logged into on a different device. Highly recommended for any Orion members.
The deposit check on my iPhone is a bit confusing. If you try to deposit a large check it will fail but not tell you why. Also, if a direct deposit from a pension or other monthly auto deposit falls on a weekend at the end of the month it doesn’t show the deposit for the month it was deposited. So you lose the bonus interest. And have to pay a service charge for that month. You could lose hundreds of dollars because the credit union doesn’t process deposits on the weekends .
1. Please add ability to set instant push notifications for things such as debit card usage/ purchases, etc. 2. Please add ability to modify more settings through app vs online 3. Please update login process so that when quick access is enabled (Face ID, Touch ID, etc.) that we are immediately logged in and not have to go through the extra step of selecting login from welcome screen. The welcome tab is already available once logged in if we need to do something else, so the current process is redundant. 4. On the account tab, could you either give us the option to choose between viewing “balance” or “available” or just change it to “available”? For example, my share account balance shows $30 but only $5 is available for use so it’s kind of misleading I also noticed that on the App Store, one of the screenshots for the Orion mobile app shows a section called card controls but I do not see it on my app. I verified I have the latest version per what’s showing in the App Store description.
Could have a little redesign to look better and have smoother flow. I cannot see my credit card info directly in the app and 90% of the time when I try to see it from the app, the webpage tries to send me a 0byte file instead of loading. I have to log into my account directly on the Orion website to be able to successfully view my cc info.
The app is worry free. I love the Face ID, the explanation of funds distributed such as if it was debit or checking withdrawals, the transfer of funds and it doesn’t shut down overnight unless it’s upgrading. It shows the history of fund accounts activities and after so many entrances it does not allow anymore that day. On the other side, I do not like that my funds can be seen from my family who are a member and listed but other than that I trust the app and I have never experienced any problems using it.
An almost elegant app. Took some time to locate how to edit reoccurring bill payments. That’s not so intuitive, but the rest of the app works great. May need to work on joint account access. Since joining Orion, I have not been able to use my credentials to pay bills. As not the primary, on a joint account, with my credentials, I cannot see the bill pay program. I must sign on with spouse credentials to pay bills. Many phone calls later to correct, no avail. Thank You!
I do like the way each account is broken out on the home screen. However there’s no way to see your full account number and routing number. The menu button is at the bottom plus there’s a “more” button at the top right where the memu button should be, that only has transfer money option under it. Also all the buttons and selections are rather small for larger fingers. Also, no one ever answers messages. I have sent several since moving to this new app and no one has ever answered me.
Update: After testing their app on multiple devices, I discovered that you can only view balances on iPhone 6; iPhone 7 is needed to view transactions. This change occurred early 2020. Giving a star back; please communicate to your customers better re: these changes on minimum phone requirements. ———— Please fix app. Each of the recent improvements have gotten worse. Please fix: 1. app closing when clicking on your account after authenticating, 2. Transactions not listed in order by date. Authentication process seems good on a positive note.
I was having issue with mobile deposit but I guess I was mobile depositing my check during the time when they are having a maintenance on their network. I tried to make another mobile deposit the next day and it went through. So far, I had made 4 mobile deposits already and I no longer have any issues.
I like the app for checking and savings but the Orion credit card takes you out of the app and to a web browser. I don’t find this particularly good, safe, or convenient to view card details like transaction history or pay balance. I’d like to see these added to the app as well as rewards section. Also the credit card link doesn’t work most of the time, instead giving a download prompt in web browser and never opening the card details.
I do not make use of all the resources in the app, but I enjoy it overall the only mark against the app is when I click on the credit card option it will open safari and typically does not send me to the ezcard site.
I’ve had many issues with this from constant crashing to being unable to unlock my card. The card preferences seriously need to be fixed or at least explain why there was “a problem updating your card. Please try again later.” My card was perfectly fine 1 second before locking, and there are no FAQs to this on the official website. In the past, it kept crashing whenever I tried to view my balance, but that works now thankfully. There needs to be a way to lock and unlock your card from your PC or laptop, NOT just the app.

I love the fact that I can check on my accounts, transfer funds, and pay bills using the app. The one downfall is that there doesn’t seem to be a timely report when transactions have been made. A text message or email reporting transactions would be a welcome addition.
The app is easy to use. It keeps a running balance after each transaction which I love. It helps me balance the checkbook faster. I have another banking app that does not do that and it’s very frustrating, so I really appreciate this feature.
I love this app because it’s always dependable and reliable. I can always easily check on my account throughout the day especially if I am checking on my monthly deposits. I also love how easily I can deposit my checks via of mobile deposits.
This app usually works just fine but sometimes it sends me two notifications to my email at the same time. That is a bit annoying but it usually is reliable and helps me a lot. And saves me a lot of time.
I rely on my app for all things financial. I can find things out concerning my finances the tools available within the app teach many things on saving’s building better credit if you’re not using the app you really should download it TODAY!!!
I utilize my IPad to access my account. Before the update, i had no problem making mobile deposits. Currently I don’t see where I can make a mobile deposit using my iPad. I spoke with a representative and she explained that I need to use the mobile app on my phone which I have never done before today. Am I missing something on my iPad App or is it not there?
Easy to use and provides enough info that is usable in starting to know where to look if more is needed. I’m a slow learner so I’ve not used everything that’s available, but I’m working on it on my pace.
I use this app for my vehicle loan. It doesn’t tell you how much you owe, nor does it make it easy to keep track of payments. My other vehicle loan app shows you exactly how much you owe and you just press a button to pay. This app you have to manually transfer the money from one account to the other. It’s just not user friendly. It also took me a while to figure it out.
With the latest update my bank statements does not let me see my recent purchases. If I was to go to my safari it would show my recent activity, unlike the app. On the app it doesn’t show any of my 2020 purchases. Very frustrating when I go out and want to take a quick glance at my account and see that nothing has updated. Ever since the update I now go to safari to look at my account.

This app is easy to use, when it’s working properly. Sometimes face ID does not work and today deposit a check does not work. So I’m logging out and logging back in hoping that will work today
Works great but when I transfer a fund it takes forever to let me know that I’ve transferred something and it doesn’t even tell me one amount. Like if I transfer $1000 it’ll say I transferred $800 and $200. Weird i don’t know why
I am giving this 1 star. This app is so hard to use. I try everything it says and not one time have I ever gotten into my account. I would really like to be able to use this.
This app is easy to use and so much better than using the phone system. I wouldn’t change it again and the easy access to your account using 4 digits is a PLUS
This app stays updated for the most part see your notifications and funds progress accurately according to your spending habits would recommend to others.
After upgrading to the latest version, I lost the capability of being able to login with touch ID and have to type in the password every time. Apparently my phone is not supporting that capacity to interact with the app and I am not going to buy a new phone just to be able to login.
I am having trouble with setting up quick access it keeps popping up “there is a problem” And it’s not allowing me to send money anymore I tried to delete the card information and put in a new one but it doesn’t let me. I have delete and install the app again and no results. Help !
Mobile deposit through Orion’s app is so easy and convenient. I also use this product with another financial institution and like the Orion product better. Very user friendly.
I am missing 3 days of account information and can no longer see pending transactions I do like the ability to group different accounts together but that does not overcome the previous 2 issues I have with this updated version and the type of customer service experience this update to the app provides
This app allows me to be aware of any and all transactions with my account. I recommend it to anyone who would like to know if there are any transactions you did not approve of.
The money desktop feature makes this bank and it's app stand out among the rest. I don't have to get a third-party app to create a budget and keep tabs on my spending.
The last update was way better. I say this because every time I entered the app it asked for my fingerprint and now it doesn’t. Yet every time I try to “enable quick access” there’s a problem and I have to log in every time I go into the app even though I turned on “remember password”.
I love the friendly staff. Everyone is so helpful (over the phone and at a branch). They always go beyond their duties to make sure I’m satisfied. I would recommend to everyone.
