Only 4 stars because…
Let me start off by saying this device has been a God send to me and my family. It has caught RSV twice with my daughter, the warnings are very prompt and I’ve never had any glitch issues. It’s been 5 stars in my book for almost 2 years!! HOWEVER, the reason for only 4 stars is just from a recent discovery. I recently changed jobs and I now work night shifts while my husband now stays home with our daughter while I’m at work. I told him to download the app so he could have the alerts on his phone. He created himself an account, registered the device and IM NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE THE SOCK REGISTERED TOO. When I keep her during the day, and she lays down for a nap the sock cannot be registered for BOTH parents. This is INSANE to me. Like only one parent can have the app downloaded because they’re the constant monitor of the child. BOGUS. The sock is on the same wifi where BOTH parents live with SEPARATE owlet accounts. But if he registers the sock it’s only on his app, if I add it back to mine it deletes it from his. Seriously, so stupid. Technology is TOO ADVANCED these days for this.

Sock itself is great, App is worthless
This app needs serious improvement. It claims to “clinacally proven, medical grade accuracy” which is true, as long as you can get the app to stay open long enough to load the levels. The app is constantly quitting while in the middle of “loading” my babies vitals and sleep state. It takes 10 or so minutes to update the current sleep state. And often times, I click on my babies profile to see the sleep state and it shows there is no sock connected, causing me to reset everything at 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 in the morning. The range from sock to base is not designed for bigger houses. When we bring our babies from their room to the living room, the base will beep at you constantly because of connectivity issues. And our living room is the same distance as their room. Even if you turn the base off completly, it seems to still beep after a few minutes of getting readings. And when it is beeping at you, trying to open the app takes even longer so I’m sitting there overstimulated with a screaming baby and a phone & base that won’t stop beeping because the app takes FOREVER to load. I love that this is designed to alert me and to keep my baby safe and I will say it has helped me get better sleep since my twins were born. But we spent almost $700 on these two owlet socks. For that money, this app should be working way better than what it is. Do better, Owlet. Do way way better.

App needs improvement
I only use the Owlet Dream Sock and although I am pleased with the sock itself and it’s designed purpose of helping keep my mind at ease while my baby sleeps, I am not impressed with the app itself. It takes several “refreshes” and even closing and re-opening the app in order to see the current sleep state. I wish the app would provide some sort of chart that shows awake, light and deep sleep patterns. My Apple Watch tells me more about my sleep patterns than the Owlet does for my baby. Lastly there should be some sort of turn off or check-in button when it’s having “difficulty getting readings”. There will be times where I’m holding my baby, I know he’s fine and even though I dismiss the notification the base will still continue to sound and it’s frustrating. Also I had to move the base to his actual changing table because otherwise when I take it off the base as I’m getting him ready for bed the sock will start alarming if I don’t put it on asap. I’ll snooze the base and it will literally go off in what feels like another minute. There could maybe be some sort of, ready to start tracking sleep button. Overall, the sock does it’s job of keeping track of my baby’s heart rate, oxygen level and sleep status but doesn’t do much more than that. You’d think for $300 the app would be better.

App need work
The app is the worst. The price is not worth it, I wish I had done my research before purchasing it. I will say the sock is a great idea giving your baby's heart rate and oxygen level, however, it causes more anxiety when not working and how poorly supported it is by the app. The way it works in regards to the charging station, the location of where it needs to be, and troubleshooting any connection issue is the most annoying and inconvenient. The sock needs to be in the charging station when not in use or else you set off the alerts, and that is also where the alerts noise comes in as well as the app, so you can't have it near a sleeping baby and there is no off button on it (there is snooze) or else levels are not monitored and the app reflects as base station off, in other words not reading levels. We have it outside of the nursery and have to run back and forth when putting it on baby. Just another step in our bed/nap time routine at this point. I continue to use it because when it works it's awesome and I love to see how his hr/O2 fluctuates between sleep cycles, just frustrated with the poor connectivity to the app and the troubleshooting anxiety that one has to go through to get back online/refreshing app especially at 3 am when you are already sleep deprived.

App needs work…
The product is great the camera works pretty well, but the temperature sensor always seems to read uncomfortable. The app definitely needs some help though the seemed to have fixed a few things like returned the history function and got rid of the routine thankfully because the routines was crap. Few other issues is that they need to have some kind of timer on notifications so they don’t just appear and the stay on screen indefinitely until you dismiss them, such as the “sleeping peacefully” notification. When I have the app on when I’m showering and she’s sleeping sometimes it goes on and the doesn’t go away until I have to manually dismiss it. App developers if you’re listening, make that one dismiss itself after some time passes so that it goes back to the live video feed. I get it for warnings but not that one. Also, the warning about connection issues always goes on at the worst moments like right at the moment she’s dozing off which is annoying because it just keeps playing the music and the it sometimes wakes her or it’s just really annoying and far away from where I am to silence it. But overall ok once they brought back history and tossed the routines.

Rage Inducing
This product and app is absolutely terrible for the absurd price they sell it for. Yes, it’s fine when it works, but even then the price is not justifiable. My Apple Watch has 100 more features at essentially the same price of an Owlet Dream sock. If you want to be woken up numerous times throughout the night for no reason then absolutely buy this product. The base and app are constantly beeping at the loudest volume telling you there is a sock placement issue. The sock is fitted exactly as instructed! My baby is sound asleep not moving. The Owlet provides BPM and oxygen readings one minute and the next starts going off and will continue to do so unless you turn off the base. I’ve adjusted the sock multiple times throughout the night and tried both feet with no success. The last thing you want to do is chance of waking your baby to adjust the placement of the sock! The app is sluggish, lags and lacks features. Not a fan of how it displays the history and for some reason breaks it up in chunks. The very last thing you want after spending sometimes hours putting your baby to sleep, and finally dozing off yourself to get hopefully a couple hours of sleep, is this thing blasting the loudest beeping of false notifications. I am extremely disappointed and frankly want to smash this product into pieces.

Zero stars. Rarely works.
I bought this thinking it would give me peace of mind but all it’s done is make me worry constantly because I never know if it is working or not. The app never loads, and if it does it is several hours behind and won’t update, even after closing the app a ridiculous amount of times as well as resetting the base several times or it just tells me to put the stock on to start a session when it’s already been on at least an hour. When it does work it takes a very long time to connect to the base and show readings, yet I haven’t had a single time that it automatically shows current readings without having to close the app a few times. I’ve had to unplug the base and reset it in the middle of the night on way too many occasions. There are always missing sections of the night where there are no readings. It goes off very loud when feeding my baby even though it is placed correctly and no way to adjust the volume. I’m so glad I bought a different baby monitor camera that actually works that I can check on my baby with as this is so unreliable and stress inducing. You’d think after paying so much for this that it would actually work. 7 months later and it just seems to be getting worse by the day. Would not recommend.

App closes throughout the night
I used the owlet baby monitor and sock with my first child three years ago. I bought the new updated version for our second child and the experience has been horrible. The app will shut down if a asleep or awake notification from the sock comes through and is not dismissed. Sometimes we will be asleep and get these notifications and the Apple shut down and so we are no longer monitoring our child unknowingly. I feel that this is extremely dangerous since the whole reason why you have a monitor is to alert you for your babies needs. I have tried to troubleshoot this for several months with my baby being five months old now. I have talked to countless technical support members, and none of them have given me an answer, except for “sorry. Really disappointed, and I will let, but our first experience was stellar. That’s a little rough or you think that’s. A review of the app on an apple I feel like I have nowhere else to like air my grievances on star. I have been able to find a workaround by assigning the sock to another child…for some reason if the camera and sock are not associated those prompts will not close the app. Now I just have to toggle between the two “children”, one to view the camera and the other to view the sock stats.

The app is horrible and getting worse
The hardware is ok but the app is absolute garbage. There are almost no settings option for the camera or the dream sock. The app is laggy and glitchy. It used to play a tune but now it just has a wretched beep which I understand the point is to have it be something you're going to hear if there is a problem, but it beeps for EVERYTHING. there is no way to disable the extra unnecessary beeping it does for literally everything you do. Keep in mind, your phone, the base station and ANY other phone (ie your spouse or other house hold members) connected will all go off even when just doing basic things, like starting a session or disabling the auto reconnect features, which is so annoying when you have a sleeping child. If you enable or disable the monitoring on the app is beeps which is annoying when you're trying to GET YOUR BABY TO SLEEP. if you enable or disable the automatic function so it doesn't reconnect all on its own, IT BEEPS. If the amount of time passes that would be required for the auto reconnect regular flees if you have it enabled or not, IT BEEPS. there are no options to fix this which I absolute despite this company for. We will be looking for an alternative option and I recommend you do not buy this product.

The app is very unreliable
We are happy with the sock and that it works even when the internet is out…but the app is horrible and incredibly unreliable. We had an unexpected/unexplained episode with our son (5 weeks old) that required a 911 call. Thankfully, he was ok! But the night following said episode, our sock was “disconnected” from the app. We desperately needed to monitor his heart rate and oxygen throughout the night, especially for our own peace of mind and it was impossible. And there was NO WAY to speak to anyone with Owlet support bc it happened at like 12:30am…Owlet’s customer service was closed! We tried every troubleshooting we could find online…after a few very rough and sleepless hours later, their app just starts working normal again and our sock was “reconnected” - it was incredibly frustrating. Then, a few nights later our camera was “offline” even though it was showing connected to the internet and working properly…it’s assumed it was another app failure bc we had no way (once again) to fix it…even after all troubleshooting completed. This sock and camera are incredibly expensive! And for these things to happen is unacceptable. For the price, at least Owlet can include a monitor for the camera. The phone is nice, but it drains the battery.

Should Be Better
I’m embarrassed for recommending this product to so many friends. for as expensive the camera and sock are, this app should be way better. When our son was born, back in July ‘22, this app was great. Had 0 complaints. Worked flawlessly. But ever since August/September, there have been countless bugs. -Have to close out of the app completely for the camera to load. Just spins and spins when trying to go back into the app without fully closing it. -A full night of sleep history is never viewable, it gets chopped up into naps/sleep/nap and cuts off before the sock is removed in the morning, by hours! Ie, bed time is 830-8am if he wakes at 1 to eat, it’s chopped off and doesn’t resume for an hour or so, if he wakes at 5, it cuts off and doesn’t finish out the night when the sock is removed in the morning. -Not sure what’s going on with the temp sensor on the camera but it is a steady 10-15° less than the actual room temp. -Have to restart the camera at least twice a week from it stating it’s ‘offline’ when trying to view. All that being said, we’ve had a great peace of mind using the sock at night and the camera (when it works) is a great convenience. Especially sound and motion alerts.

Please update app & fix base station issue
Our baby is 12 weeks old and we’ve been using the Owlet sock and camera since she came home and loved the set up. We had been using the Owlet Care app up until last week when the base station kept saying it was trying to connect to the sock. We would lose her readings multiple times during the night even when we repaired the sock and the station and checked the connection. We thought the app was out of date so we downloaded the Owlet Dream and the issues continue…the app constantly crashes which means we have no readings, camera or sound when that happens in the night. We are still getting error messages saying the base station is trying to connect or is offline (though the camera still works). The Owlet Dream app doesn’t show readings when you take it to full screen and you can’t go back to see the previous nights’ history of awake/light sleep/deep sleep. Owlet’s support team told us THE APP WASN’T MEANT TO BE KEPT ON ALL NIGHT, which is why it is crashing (!!!) For $400 I should be able to keep this app and product running as long as I want to give me peace of mind my child is okay. I might as well just buy a normal baby monitor…

Owlet dream sock camera
I love that I can monitor my twins using the owlet camera and sock. I just have a issue with it being I have twins. Now that it’s updated, if I have just one twin on my phone I can read the heart rate oxygen level in the screen. But if I put both up I only see the one. I think it be real helpful, especially with mommas with twins to be able to see the heart rate and oxygen in the screen when turned over. Just to put the parents mind at ease. I also will say sometimes it does take forever to really know if they are asleep if I look on my camera or just the sock readings, more than I go look in their rooms. Just wanted to put insight for moms with multiple’s especially due to the fact they come early more than likely, and just to put ease on our minds. Otherwise I recommend the owlet to everyone. Even though the price is a little higher than I think. But much easier now for families who have to use these non stop at home than going through insurance. Or hopefully they can have the option for this to help them too.

RSV
Wanted to start off by saying I know the Owlet is not a “medical device” or recommended for “diagnosis” BUT my daughter had RSV at about 7/8 months old and seemed to be doing just fine, until she wasn’t. It happened so quickly and this sock was one of the main reasons I brought my LO to the ER and was admitted twice! It gives parents a little piece of mind, and a base to go off of. You kind of learn what your child’s numbers typically are, and when they’re off.. you check on them, and if they’re fine check the fit of the sock bc if it isn’t on correctly or tight enough it will be off a little from your typical readings. The app does have a lot of crashes and bugs, and the biggest thing I think the app needs is customizable notification settings, if levels get to a certain limit of my choosing I want it to notify me so I can check on my child. I’d so much rather get a low false reading and get notified than to not get any notification at all. I do always recommend this to my friends and family but I hope they continue to make improvements in the app and customization settings.

Frame frozen
So I chose the option to minimize the screen so I could see my daughter while also listening to a tik tok live while I was in the shower. I was constantly checking the picture and she was sound asleep. When I got out of the shower I thought I heard my daughter cry but when I looked at the screen my daughter was sound asleep. When I opened the bathroom door, I could hear my daughter screaming crying and looked at the app again and it showed that she was still sound asleep in the same position she was when I minimized the picture! Even when I went in to get her and pick her up, I looked at my phone again and it was still showing me the picture that she was sound asleep!! It’s like the frame was frozen on the picture I saw when I minimized it and it never updated at all! This is scary and makes me not trust the video feed I’m seeing when minimizing the picture. I will say I did test it out when in the app normally and it works, but lags by about 2 seconds which I feel is normal for any video feed.

Slow App
I have fast internet, latest WiFi, iPhone, etc. this app is SLOW to get you to see what is going on. It connects to base station…and connects to base station…and connects to the base station every time you open it it just takes forever. Would be nice to be able to see a graph of the real time readings too…this shoes you what they kind of are but they jump around a bit so it would be nice to see O2 sat and HR graphed over a period of time even if it is just like 5-10 minutes. Also only runs on 2.4ghz. Sock is ok without this I guess but I want to see what is happening in real time with some historical data and not have to wait. Also the little base station isn’t battery powered so you can’t take it around the house with you. It’s also not very loud so if you are in another room you have to find another outlet or carry a portable battery pack around with it. You should be able to adjust the volume. This thing is kind of expensive for the lack of features and I probably wouldn’t buy it again and look for other alternatives from other companies. Another reviewer was right - their Apple Watch provides way more info.

It’s just you’d think it knows when a baby is crying
I like the sock, it gives me some peace of mind st night when I’m sleeping and i think it’s all pretty straight forward as far as placing and set up. It’s just that you’d think this sock made for babies would know not to go off when a baby is crying, but what I’ve experienced the last 2 nights is my baby wakes up crying for whatever reason and sure enough a minute later the port goes off and the apo shows “a problem with placement”, but the sock’s where it’s been the last 5 hours!! It is very upsetting to have a crying baby at 4 am and have this nonsense going on too so you have remove and place again after you put your baby down, which leads me to another complaint which is the app only has an option to stop the alarm for like 30 seconds and then it gives you the same message again and again

History/reads never available
First off, customer service was terrible. I needed a new cord because for some reason the one provided stopped working. Having the function of messaging with them was nice but three separate times I sent pictures of the cord and the adapter part only to be shipped the wrong cord 3x! How does that happen.. finally fourth time the woman said they were all out and couldn’t put me on a waitlist. So I had to buy a $15 cord which wouldn’t be a problem but what’s the point of paying for a warranty then..When I first started using the sock everything was great back in beginning of July. I updated the app and now it’s gone down the tubes. Constantly saying connection issues and will go off all the time unless I manually turn the base on then off. I never can see any data while she has it on anymore nor do I see the quality of sleep. Worst part is you try looking at past days and you can’t even see the sleep quality anymore. What’s the point of the $400 sock? This app need major work fast because it’s not right as a first time parent to just want a little peace of mind and this type of stuff happens.

I love it but it needs some fixes!
This SAVED my sanity! I love using this sock for three things. 1, knowing that my baby is breathing. 2, knowing if he’s asleep or not, I can take my phone with me to a different room and can tell if his BPM are in the sleeping range. And 3, I love looking at how his night went. There are a few improvements that need to be made. The threshold for when the red alert goes off is too low for the BPM. It doesn’t go off until 50 beats per minute and it’s way too low. I should be able to edit what I want it to alert me at. The app also needs fixing for refresh issues as well. It takes way too long to get a current reading on sleep. (It is super fast with oxygen and BPM). It also sometimes isn’t accurate when he is actually sleeping vs. awake, sometimes it says he’s awake and he is in active sleep and sometimes it says he’s in light sleep when he’s actually wide awake. Overall I love it but it just needs some improvements.

Camera Connection Issues
I’ve really enjoyed the sock feature on the owlet and I know it gets some hate from a lot of different places but it worked really well for us. The only issue I have is the camera disconnects or has connection problems all the time. There is so many times I can’t even check on my baby through the app because it won’t connection to the camera. I’m sure most would say it’s a Wi-Fi problem but our Wi-Fi will be working on everything else just not on the app. When it doesn’t want to connect it will usually be out for 3-4 hours before I can even try to use it again. There is also times when it’s on throughout the night and it just randomly disconnects. It’s super frustrating that I can’t rely on it to work all the time. I feel like there is so many other camera options out there that work a lot better. We do have another one for our other child that was a fraction of the price and I have never had one issue with it not working. I don’t think I will use this again for our next baby unless it gets some serious updates.

Product gives peace of mind but app does not work
I can confidently say this is the worst app I’ve ever used. 95% of the time it doesn’t work nimbuo writing this at 3:45 am after fighting with it for an hour because it said the base station was disconnected - the whole while it was just the app malfunctioning. That’s been the worst if it but on a typical day and use I have to quit out of the app and refresh it to get a real time reading. When that doesn’t work I switch back and forth between home and history tabs. Basically I am constantly trying different things to get the app to show me any data. This is meant to give me peace of mind but it can’t do that if it never works. I’m holding on to the fact that I think the sock still works when the app doesn’t. The sock/base station hasn’t failed to notify me when there has been a placement issue (the sock moves and isn’t reading properly) and i have been able to see data retroactively during a session so that’s comforting. But somehow when I check the history after a session ends, there is frequent loss of data/the report says there is no data for large chunks of time.

Constant issues with connectivity
I’ve used the sock with both of my kids. The app is always “searching for base” or “Wi-Fi not connected” even though the base is 6 feet way or the Wi-Fi booster is literally on the other side if the wall(had to get a booster because my 650sqft ranch style house was too much area to cover for range). Sock constantly falls off with just the slightest wiggle unless you make the Velcro so tight you fear that it’s hurting them. And you still need to put an actual sock on to hold it in place. Maybe have a better design so it stays on better. The notifications for sock placement issue almost always only rings at the base but not the app so it’s only waking the baby not the parent. When it does work it provides tremendous peace of mind, but unfortunately that’s rarely the case. For the insane amount of money spent on this device I shouldn’t have to still worry about my child’s vitals crashing and not being made aware. That’s literally all this sock is supposed to do. Save your money, just set an alarm and check in on them like parents have done forever.

Unbelievably terrible app
I can’t even believe how terrible this app is for such an “advanced” concept of baby monitoring and for how expensive this system is. I regret registering for it and should’ve gone with a less expensive basic system. The sock is so difficult to put on and stay on (why not just make an actual sock that slips and fastens on?). The camera is always going out and SO delayed. The app doesn’t have options for anything really (would be nice to customize it more, change the annoying song of the base when it goes off or the volume of it, etc). I saw so many reviews like this but stupidly ignored them and now I wish I had paid attention. Don’t buy this system. I see so many reviews and even see they’ve responded but nothing has changed and it’s been a while? THEIRRESPONSES ARE SO GENERIC AND NOTHING CHANGES!!! Please sit down with real parents who have used this app and could give valuable feedback, whenever and if ever you decide to listen and update it. I will now need to spend money on another camera because this one is GARBAGE. Not sure how the stars are still high on this it should be in the negatives. Such TRASH.

Why was the meter taken off?
There was an update, I was like nice probably fix those bugs. Then I opened the app expecting glory and the meter was gone, and the words echoed it cannot be undone. Whyyyy? After a few days of using the new update version it feels like a downgrade. I’ve only used this sock for 3 months and I was aware of the bugs, but was not bad I was able use it and fix it when it went on its little tirade. It felt like the main purpose was there. The live feed was pretty good not perfect but it was good. With this updated version, hated that they took off the meter. It really helped us see where she was in her progress of sleeping. They took off a lot of useful visuals in understanding where she was in her sleep . I cannot understand why? The reading feel more random idk why, it used to feel more stable. It’s now constantly shooting to either direction in seconds. It does not have that feeling of reliability as it once had. Makes me nervous now. Hope they fix it or return to the original version.

App Fixes
I love the dream sock, the stats I’m able to see, and the peace of mind. HOWEVER for the price of the sock, I expected a lot more from the app. For example, none of the sleep sessions are separated, even though the sock is taken off between sessions. The section below the health stats titled sleep quality is counting my daughters last nap of the day from 2 days ago, her sleep that night, all of the naps the next day and now her second night of sleep as one session. The app has done this before, but it typically resets at some point. I really hate that when this happens I’m unable to see how long she was in each stage of sleep for as that stat is helpful for us. Instead, her session is accounting for 30+ hours. Again, I love everything about the sock and the features of the app, they are just not executed well and need technical tweaks. Yes I did update the app. My session is still over 30 hours long. There is no way to manually edit it, as this is under sleep quality on the home page and not the history section.

App Needs Significant Improvement
Their hardware is perfect. The sock is perfect for measuring heart rate and pulse ox, and letting you know your baby is asleep. The camera is great for viewing in light and pitch black conditions, lets you hear what’s going on, and also lets you communicate back to the crib. However, the software is just annoying and at worst infuriating. You have to close out the app multiple times sometimes for it to actually show the sleep status or other stats. Also, when you take the sock off the base, it feels like you have 30 seconds to put the sock on the baby before it starts giving warning sounds. There should be a way to signal to the app to “start” and “stop” reading. It also needs a stat history option so you can go back and evaluate how your baby has been sleeping over time. Once the sock is off, the stats are gone. The software needs much more improvement to make sense compared to other less expensive options that can give you the same peace of mind.

Must have
I thought about purchasing Owlet before my baby was born but decided it was not necessary, just an extra thing to add to the endless must have baby items on the market this days. But on my baby boys second month of life he contracted Covid. And even though that particular strand of covid doesn't necessarily attack the lungs I decided to buy this item and rush shipping so I can monitor my babies heartbeat and oxygen levels. Owlet does so much more than that though. it tells you if your baby is moving. It tracks sleep patterns and It even tells you if the room is too hot or too cold and if the humidity level is too high or too low. To all parents, this item is not just a must have, it can be the thing that saves your baby's life. Highly recommend! I will continue to use Owlet after my baby is well so I can sleep easy knowing that my baby is breathing throughout the night.

Horrible app.
Have had the sock and monitor for 2.5 years. We stopped using the sock almost 4 months in because it would blare alerts throughout the night that her sock has fallen off or whatever. Go look, and snuggly secure, where we put it… The monitor is beyond trash. It seems to work better on my wife’s Samsung than my iPhone. Sometimes my phone will stay on, sometimes it just goes into sleep mode like normal. It’ll be working fine, then a wheel will start spinning, then it’ll freeze. Then I have to close the app and reopen it. Almost always pixelated and more often than not it say connection lost. Probably more but can’t think of them.. now this is all happening ONLY when I can actually get the thing to load. I have to close, open, close, open, close, open etc etc.. until it finally gets past a black screen with a spinning wheel and finally loads a picture. Like another review, since it moved from Owlet Care to this new Owlet.. whatever.. the monitor has been garbage and the sock was garbage before that. I’d never recommend any of their products. Especially at their prices..

App needs work
The owlet sock is why we purchased the owlet cam. The app needs refreshed to update the current status of what you’re seeing on the camera, which often means closing out the app and reopening every time. Lately it has started to go offline in the middle of the night 4-5 times. At first I thought it was the Wifi but it’s not. Our wifi has gone out before and the camera has disconnected because of it. It will go offline and the camera will actually go off into pairing mode and I will have to re pair it, normal. But when it goes off in the middle of the night consistently it says offline and I’ll hit “try again” or whatever message that pops up to go back to camera screen and it loads right up. The camera does not need repairing all I have to do is open my phone and app again. This is concerning since I want to be monitoring my baby all night and now I can’t even hear if he is crying or not because my app shuts off when I’m sleeping. Lots of money to pay for something that doesn’t work

Horrible
This is like a faulty smoke alarm. It goes off all the time so when there really is a fire, I won’t react appropriately. Ok first off, this device doesn’t work when the snoo is on level 4. It says trouble getting reading. It took me a long time to figure that out but trust me, if its 4am and your trying to soothe your baby, you’ll figure it out too. In our small home, the sock is bluetooth so the base and sock have to be in the same room. Every time you remove the sock from the room, you have to go into the app and because the developers are idiots, this app doesn't run in the background. It takes forever to load. Currently its not loading at all. When giving the baby a bath, we bathe the baby in one room, dry and dress the baby in another and put the sock on in another. As soon as the sock is on, the app automatically enables and starts taking readings. You have to manually go in the app and disable this or it will wake the baby and partner when it alarms. Device doesn't work without power, app or internet. Its been like the boy that cried wolf so we tossed it.

App isn’t functional
We used this product (sock + camera) for about two months and it only got worse and worse. The app was always buggy and we’d have to restart it almost every time we’d want to check on our baby; if would freeze up or sometimes just not have any sound. They say it doesn’t work well with more than one user, but that’s simply not practical when you have your spouse and a family member helping to watch the baby. For a solution that costs $320 I’d expect it to bare minimum have a functional app. Then about two months in, for multiple nights it would alert us in the night that the sock was misaligned -- however it would ONLY alert loudly in the nursery where we kept the base station, and wouldn’t alert our phones. This was very worrisome for us because (1) it would wake our baby, but more importantly (2) we knew we couldn’t count on it to alert our phones in the bedroom if there was a dip in his oxygen levels, which is the whole point of us using the Owlet. Save your money and don’t bother with this product.

App Needs Improved
First and foremost, the sock works wonderfully. It’s constantly lighting up green on the base station letting me know that it is monitoring; now with that being said, when the app decides to work, it’s great. What I mean by that is once it “connects” to the base station, it will kick me off several times. It will do this whether I’m 2 foot away or 20 feet away so distancing isn’t the issue. I have to close out the app and restart it about 25/30(if I’m lucky) times for it to “connect” again. I have the keep the app pulled up all night with my phone unlocked or it will take forever to get the sock to reconnect to my phone. It creates more anxiety of not having access to the vitals as easy as it should be. Now like I said, the sock? Amazing. Considering the price of everything, I understand the app is a perk, but it should work way better than it does and it should be more secured for us parents who buy the sock for comfort with their babies.

Same as previous users
As previous users have written, this has been a completely different experience with the Owlet compared to our previous child. With our middle child in 2018, we never once got a alarm for anything. It worked well and the app was easy to use - not so much now. They changed the lullaby when it’s having trouble connecting to the sock to this annoying alarm. If you turn it off, it turns back on itself - no longer are the days when I could turn it off and leave the room to rock baby back to sleep while my husband is sleeping as I now have to unplug the base itself or it will turn itself back on within 30 minutes. The original Owlet came with three sock sizes - this one comes with two and my baby is currently in the “in between” stage where neither fit, therefore we get an alarm at least once a night because it has fallen off. Overall I really wish something else similar to this was on the market because this has been truly a negative experience compared to our previous baby.

RSV and COVID
My 6 week old baby was airlifted to a children’s hospital due to RSV and COVID. There were quite a few variables that saved his life - the OWELET included. We were watching him closely because he wasn’t feeling well, but I think we could have mistaken him not breathing for sleeping (as there was no coughing or anything leading up to it). The Owelet was alerting so we checked him and he was turning blue. Thank you for this product. I feel like I could go on and on as it was quite the journey, but long story short: we are thankful the Owelet was on our baby that moment and still is every night. We are a one income family, but I am so relieved we decided to make this purchase (my husband said it was my birthday present - turned out to be the best gift ever). We are thankful to God for working out so many details that saved his life.

Sock is Good, Camera is a waste
We have been using our Owlet sock religiously since our 18 month old was born. After our original camera broke when our child was about 6 months we decided to spring for the owlet camera since we already had the sock. Since day one this camera has been a pain in my side. The setup process is aggravating to say the least. They are VERY clear about only using 2.4 gigahertz for WiFi and we made sure we followed through with that. However despite closely following owlets instructions and their “support“, we are constantly having to go into our routers settings and entirely reboot the entire thing. We are missing notifications when our child wakes in the morning and the occasional night waking. We aren’t able to check on him 75% of the time due to it “being offline”. Our backup camera from VTech also only runs 2.4 gHz and NEVER has this problem. Please fix this. The sock and camera bundle was very expensive and this is such a letdown.

Tons of room for improvement
The sock itself is great. The idea is great. However, the app is severely lacking. It is very glitchy. It crashes frequently. I am constantly having to restart the app. Sleep sessions will randomly disappear or a chunk of sleep data will go missing just for it to all reappear a few hours later. The sleep quality reports are okay but the data goes away every time you take the sock off in between sleep sessions & it doesn’t save to the nap or sleep session on the history tab so you lose helpful information such as how much deep sleep your baby got during each session that day. Then the sleep start/end times always manage to be off on the history tab & don’t match what the home tab says & oftentimes, it takes a very long time for the “current session” to show up on the history tab. It’s just hard to believe that the app that pairs with a $300 device is this faulty. I really wish it was a better & smoother experience to use the app.

I love it
Honestly all these reviews are from the past and the app has definitely worked out it’s bugs and i absolutely love the dream sock. It gives me so much peace of mind, i use this every single night since having my baby and i can sleep so much easier now without any stress or worry. I love the live readings and all the alerts for sound detection and movement from the cam. I’ve only had a issue with this app ONCE and it was last year when they were in the process of updating their app when they became FDA approved and the app glitched and wasn’t showing me readings but that was before LIVE readings. It was only a mess up for that one night, ever since then it’s been easy sailing and great service. I recommend this sock and app to every new mom who struggles with anxiety and worry over their babies at night

Scam
$300 down the drain. This sock is designed to EASE our anxiety when our precious babies are sleeping. The app/sock NEVER works properly. I have the correct sock size on, the sock is on baby’s foot properly, and the app is updated. The app will have GAPs of time with no readings even though I was not notified there was no reading. Notifications are turned on. Most recently my daughter had an incident and I really needed to watch her oxygen, the app would not open, I checked the App Store and it said I did not have the app, so I deleted the app and it would not re download. Had to have my husband download it on his phone. And it still didn’t work properly on his phone! It took 45 minutes of “tracking” to finally get my baby’s oxygen level. I was finally able to get the app downloaded back on my phone after restarting my phone and we decided to compare the stats on mine and my husbands phone(he has Samsung) and the stats show different levels. I will be staying up all night watching my baby because i just can’t trust this app/sock.

It has its flaws, but overall I’m satisfied.
My child will be one next week. We’ve had the sock/camera combo since birth. It always put my mind at ease even after we moved her into her own room at 4 months. We never had issues with the base going off unless our crappy internet provider at the time (charter spectrum) did their 3AM maintenance. I have problems however with the new update. We have recently switched internet providers to a fiber network, which has excellent connections and speed, but for some reason I cannot get the background sound to work for longer than 30 seconds at a time. If I close the app and reopen it it will work for the 20-30 seconds and then back off again. If tried reconnecting and restarting. I’m kinda at a loss. I use the background sound as a monitor in our room and without it I suppose I’ll have to switch to the basic two way system.

Disappointing for the price
For a $299 price tag I really expected the app to be better. There are a lot of inconsistencies with what their FAQs/instructions claim to be able to do and what you can actually do. For instance, there is nowhere in the settings to change notification volume or parameters. It’s annoying when you know baby is perfectly fine in your arms or when changing diapers to have to constantly snooze the connection notification. I would argue it’s more dangerous to have those alarms going off trying to snooze the notification with your hands full than to not have it. There is no setting to turn them off or temporarily disable them. Also, I’m waiting for the promised update for real-time O2 sat monitoring since FDA approval. I’ll be using the Eufy we purchased until the update rolls out, which has much better customization options and real-time O2 sat/heart rate monitoring. If it doesn’t update within the next 30 days, we might be returning this one for good.

App is infuriating
Update: worry less about adding stars to your app launch screen and worry more about connectivity issues. 90% of the time, especially at night, the app does not work. I get an “Owlet Camera Offline” notification more than anything and have to click Try Again over and over again, and opening/closing the app to try and reset. If the camera does work, it freezes and I am constantly having to ask my husband “is that what your screen is showing?” Because most times, it will have our screens showing two different things. These issues only started happening after about 5 months of use. The 10% that it does work, it’s fantastic. But not enough to outweigh the frustrations when it’s not working and I want to check on him. Most of the time, I just wish we had gotten a hardwired, non-WiFi/cloud monitor. I refuse to believe it’s our WiFi signal because we live in a 2000sqft single story and our router is nearby.

No Excuse
So with the last update the app removed the ability to see vitals while in full screen. This is essentially the only way to both see your babies vitals and your baby at the same time. Its basically the entire reason the product exists and someone accidentally killed that part of the app during an update. Look. I’m a software engineering manager. The fact that the mistake happened, is understandable. Someone screwed up, touched something without realizing it would break something else, and QA missed it. Not a good story but it happens. HOWEVER, apparently telling customers that it will take 2-3 weeks to get it fixed is ABSOLUTELY absurd. Either the leadership in charge are absolutely terrible, or the engineers working on this are absolutely the bottom of the barrel. There is no excuse for it. Engineers in basically any industry would have to have a hot fix out in hours. Not days, not weeks. There is no excuse for that kind of a timeline. This is a premium product that is delivering a below budget level experience.

Do Not Purchase
Do Not Update to the newest version. If you still have a Sock 2 or 3 do not upgrade to a Dream Sock. The sock is only good until the kid reaches 2.5 at which point you will no longer get the notifications but also won’t get any pulse rate or oxygen readings at all. When I bought the product it was advertised as being good from age 0 - 5. Not the case obviously anymore. If the FDA no longer approved it, this product should have been recalled and credit given back. Then re advertised once approved explaining this isn’t good anymore after age 2.5. Only being good till 2.5 maybe doesn’t justify the price anymore. It’s nice to be able to see these stats in older children even if not for the alerts but it helps to tell when your child is sick. Apart from that terrible update. The Cam 1 is terrible and about impossible to ever rely on it for a live feed or background sound. Then Cam two is a bit better but your better off putting your money into a different camera. Nanit is probably the way to go.

Most Frustrating Thing I’ve Dealt With
The whole point of having a monitor is to monitor your child. The connection issues have been a problem since day one. I’ve had our internet company come several times to see if our wifi needed improvement, but it’s just the camera. I have to wake up every night to hit “try again” because it won’t stay connected. Not to mention I have to leave my phone on all night to keep the monitor on. I originally was hoping that the notifications it’s supposed to send when it sees motion or heard a cry would be enough, but those notifications don’t pop up until 3 minutes after the fact. So that’s why I’ve had to keep my phone on. Thankfully my child has always been okay, but I can’t imagine if something could happen in the middle of the night and I wouldn’t receive any kind of notification because this camera can’t even do it’s one job. Honestly I don’t know what the hype is all about over this brand. It’s been nothing but a pain. Waste of money.

Inconsistent video feed
I have two cameras in my child’s room. Less than 15 feet from one another. On a daily basis I experience being able to access video feed for anywhere from 0 to 2 cameras. More often than not, it’s 1 or 0. Currently looking at the ap now and I’m only getting 1 cameras feed, other with ‘offline error’. But if I check in 6 hours, likely the error camera will be working again. (For reference- our Wi-Fi also has nest cameras, blink cameras, and even a set of off brand cameras - I run into no issues accessing feed for ANY of them via their apps.) When the owlet app does connect to the owlet cameraa, it always says ‘fair’ Cam Wi-Fi. But my husband works on IT and looks up from our router that it’s connected with 99% signal strength. This app is inconsistent, unreliable, and frustrating for any user. After first day using this cam/app with my newborn infant, I got an old school audio only baby monitor, because I could not trust this app.

Love/Hate relationship
I love the concept of this application; being able to use it from virtually anywhere was a win for me. But we’ve experienced so many problems. For. Long time the new dream app kept constantly crashing throughout the night which made it basically useless. That seems to have gotten better but now the camera quite often goes offline for reasons I do not understand. I’ll click the button to try again and sometimes it reconnects and sometimes it doesn’t. If it reconnects, it might be good for the rest of the sleep session but there are times when it just goes offline or freezes. So many of these problems started for us when it switched from the original app to the dream app… We have spent so much money on this monitor and in so fed up with it. Honestly debating switching to a more traditional monitor so we don’t experience this issue anymore.

Incredibly bad
It’s honestly amazing how unreliable and terrible this thing is. This thing is so bad that Owlet had to lock reviews on the camera because there were so many negative reviews and every positive review was very clearly bought. You could see that every single review had the same marketing speak and talking points. As for this app, it’s unreliable and needs to be restarted every ten minutes or so. After ten minutes the signal to the camera just drops, it’s seriously that bad. This junk has one purpose and that’s to be connected while my child sleeps and it can’t do that. This isn’t a case of the extra features not being up to snuff or it’s slow (it’s for sure slow too), this app can’t do the one basic thing it needs to do. It’s really incredible how bad it is. I’m assuming owlet’s business model was to farm out a barely functioning app on Fiverr then push marketing hard to sell to an investment firm, which is exactly what happened right before they were ordered to discontinue the sock by the FDA.

Sock is decent, app is terrible
Like most of the other recent reviews say, the sock itself serves its purpose, due to lawsuits it no longer alerts to things it should like changes in heart rate and oxygen levels, you have to watch them yourself. The app on the other hand is terrible. It rarely connects without multiple attempts, on multiple attempts we have never been succesful about connecting to a different wifi network while traveling, fortunately it works at home but that is it. Customer service is also non-existent. Hours are terrible and when you do get in contact the help is even worse. There are many cheaper options with better reviews, I have never tried any of those, but for the price, they can’t be much worse than the Owlet, it is no wonder they continue to lose marketshare. Hopefully they will make necessary changes and get things lined out, but I will not be buying any additional product until they do.

Not worth it
I bought the owlet sock based on a cousins recommendation. However, she had the old version where there were far less glitches. I love the sock when it works. It gives me peace of mind at night when my son is sleeping and I like being able to check his live readings and track his sleep. But this isn’t always the case. The app crashes constantly and says it’s not connected to the wifi meanwhile the wifi light on the base is on! It takes me a bit of time to get it to work again and it’s starting to become a nightly thing. When I reached out to express my concerns, I was told to delete the app and download it again, which yes that did work, but then I had to do it the next night and the night after. I’ve seen so many reviews also complaining about the app, please listen to your customers and fix it. For customers debating on this product: No, I don’t recommend. Find something cheaper and more effective.

Small updates would make big difference for my family-3 year no changes with my issues!!!
Have to open and close the app anytime I want to click through the app. Once you click the screen split button you can no longer click through the app unless you minimize it and the reopen to maximize the other child’s screen (To see both kids cams at the sometime at night) do this every night before bed. Very annoying!!!! if you have to explain this to a babysitter, nobody knows what you’re talking about😩😩😩 Anytime my power goes out I have to re sync the Wi-Fi to the camera and I wake my child every time I have to do it and it’s like a 20 minute process to “hear the chime!” Only have to reconnect my Wi-Fi on my original old cam not the new one. Support has told me multiple times it should not be an issue but it is. I live near the water, so we lose power quite frequently when there is a storm. ruins, my three year old sleep and ultimately affects her day the next day at school, which intern ruins, a workday for me if she gets sent home for being upset at school for a poor night’s sleep …quite the trickle down effect!!!! Have two kids would like the ability to see them side by side. Not small corner screen verse big screen. Seems like very basic changes in software that would be the difference of me recommending to a friend and I have had for 3 year and no changes ever made!!!!! So annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!
