We started with Philips/ Magnavox in 1990, with Maggie Provost. Our factory had a branch in the building. Top notch. When we moved, we started on line with what had become Partners 1st. They have been rather innovative and out front with features that made on line banking easy. As time has gone on, +35years, there have been bumps along the way, but nothing that would cause me to leave. However, I don’t use the phone app much.
This app is...ok. Obviously it’s for a credit union and not a giant bank like PNC or Chase, but it just doesn’t work well. What features it has can be (and are) spotty, sometime going months without working, only to surprise you one day to “have it back”. (I’m looking at you quick balance!) debits and credits can sometimes take days to post and show on your account, the layout and annoying reminder to rate it (here it is, leave me alone!) often hide features because the page doesn’t scale properly, and a lot of other little things that make this app my least favorite app on my iPad. I understand app development is pricey, but when many people are banking online/over apps more and more, it is necessary for it to compete, which in my opinion, it does not. The only reason I don’t leave my bank is because I know the people and they know me, otherwise, I’d go elsewhere with a better app.
Just got all of my bank stuff set up yesterday at partners and today I decide to try to set up my login and get the app. I started it up and it starts as a loading screen saying “Please wait, we are getting the information you’ve requested” and continues to not load or talk about bad connection when I’m clearly connected to WiFi. So maybe I thought it was just the app, nope turns out the website itself is fairly slow and won’t even let me log on or anything. So after I came to the conclusion after deleting the app and downloading it again multiple times, restarting my phone, restarting my WiFi, etc. I will most likely be moving banks already if the problem is not fixed soon, but if fixed I’d gladly give it more stars.
Partners 1st has been my bank since I opened my first bank account. I’ve always had a good experience with them and even convinced my wife when she was still my girlfriend to switch to them because of how great they are. Unfortunately, their app has gone through an update and my experience with it is unsatisfactory. In its previous state the app was easy to understand and navigate, now I can’t even tell how much I’ve saved from my last paycheck let alone what I need to pay off on my credit card. I hope they change the app to where things are much easier to understand.
The app used to be good. Within the past week they updated their entire banking system, and I’m not happy with this “new system” at all. Now the banking is set up very differently and it literally won’t even show the credit card balance unless you log in, click it, then it sends you to this external website for the balance/for paying it off. It’s so much more complicated, to the point where my husband and I may even just switch banks at this point. We liked how easy and straightforward the old system was, then upgrading it was a complete downgrade in my opinion.
They finally seemed to ditch that crap app developer who made the old app. Except the new dev doesn’t understand current technology practices. App is super clunky and won’t let you stay signed in, even after registering the device multiple times in a row. Forget having Face ID enabled, also doesn’t stay enabled. If I wanted to talk to a person to get my banking information I would drive myself to a branch!! AND you need a separate login for the secure messaging system, really?
I usually don’t have any trouble with the mobile app but tonight the mobile deposit feature froze on me twice. The first time I got a green screen, so had to close and log in again. The 2nd time I was stuck on a screen that had a 2nd tab, which I pressed and which then showed the deposit confirmation screen. In general, I like the app and it works well.
I have noticed the past few months that I’m not able to scroll through the entire list under my bill pay. I have to do a search for the company to come up. Also, this week, the app has been crashing a lot. I’ll sign into it and I’ll check my account and within a few seconds seconds, the app crashes. I have to log back in and am lucky if it doesn’t crash again while trying to do something in my account.
I find the app to be basic in nature needing upgrade with graphics and fonts. It gives the information needed but is slow compared to major banks. You have to become more familiar with usage and navigation or it will feel clumsy. I give it four stars for being accurate but basic.
I’ve been using this app for over five years and have never once had a problem or issue of any kind. I do banking with several banks and have never had any issues transferring between accounts, banks, investment accounts, and making bill payments.
Though any app that has to verify so much is apt to be a bit clunky, this Partners1st app works well. It is simple to view and use, pretty straightforward, and, of major import, it saves me multiple trips to the bank. I am not sure how it could be better.
Can move around the app but it’s often slow and unresponsive especially frustrating when trying to do a transfer of funds between account quickly and you have to restart the app a couple times to unfreeze it.
Signing in is the absolute worst, slow, if it the app even loads at all. If you get in you see current balances by product category. Seeing available balances would be more beneficial. Also seeing my child’s savings balance grouped into my balance is misleading & annoying. I have no complaints against this credit union however this is probably the worst online banking I’ve ever experienced.
I also bank with Truist, formerly Sun Trust and also Chase. Partners 1st app is so far advanced and has so many more features than both these two huge banks combined! Thank you for such a tremendous app with so many features.
When checking my balance for any account via “Quick Balance” its never up to date. If I log in from desktop the balance is current/accurate, but the app has no consistency as to how or when it updates with regards to account balances. Not sure why it even matters anymore, but this review app popped up and thought I would throw my two cents in. Called the corporate office about this problem a year ago but nothing has changed.
The app shows only a few transactions at at time and one needs to be clicking the next page button countless time, when looking for a transaction you are not sure of the date. Why not show the whole period. We can scroll…..
As with many apps the Partner’s 1st mobile app continues to evolve & improve. As a nonresident of Fort Wayne the mobile app provides a quick overall visual. With ease to monitor, transfer, process payments. A basic app that is appreciated.
this upgrade made paying credit card harder and is NOT better than previous version. this is a hassle! not for nothing it’s shady that the new app is getting the positive ratings from the old app ! any of the new ratings are honest and all the 5 stars are from before this disastrous “upgrade”
Have been using this app for my banking for a lot of years. I have had no problems with it, it is user friendly! Partners 1st is a good cu to work with!!
The app is super slow, takes forever to change to the next screen, the fingerprint option doesn’t work at all. I just spent the last 30 minutes trying to make it work and it won’t. I thought partners first was awesome but they really to update this app. There’s too many menu options with sub options. Totally irritated
When the pending amount is not subtracted from the available balance it could be misleading and cause an overdraft. I hope this issue will be addressed in the future
It takes at least 5 minutes to get logged in, if you click on anything it’s another 10 minutes of waiting, and then it times out and says it’s having connection errors to check your connection. I had to give it one star but it doesn’t even deserve that. Get it together Partners 1st.
The app is not user friendly at all. It won’t let you use an external account to make payments. It charges you a fee to use their quick pay option. This app needs to be re-done… There will be a lot of refinances because of this.
I use the Partners 1st FCU app on a regular basis to check balances and make transactions. The App works well for me and is updated on a regular basis.
This app either takes 5 minutes to load every time you click a button or it just doesn’t load at all. The website all together is horrible and completely unreliable.
🤬 “Please wait, we’re getting the information you’ve requested “ Anyone that has used this App is very familiar with the message above. It is usually all I see when I attempt to open the App 😫
The app is extremely slow. Doesn't load half the time you open it. The colors scheme makes it hard to read the amounts in your account. Also, the app doesn't have Touch ID to recognize the user, so therefore, the user has to fully login every time.
