Don’t waist your money on Speechify; this app is just as good.

This app helps me read and keep up with my reading. This app may not have Gwyneth Paltrow as a voice, but it does not lag and also you do not have to spend $150 just for a membership. I recommend this app for those who struggle with ADHD or struggle with reading. Don’t waste your money on speechify.

Great app BUT

I cannot for the life of me figure out why it makes my phone so hot and kills the battery. There is no other app, no Matter how graphically intensive, that kills my battery as fast as this app and that’s with the screen off. So, given that it can use my my entire battery in less than two hours it puts a huge limit on my ability to use. It’s a great app, works perfect just what I was looking for otherwise.

Cheap and easy

I’m currently trying to act more productively than I used to cause I just felt like the May of 2022 was the time for me.I’ve been trying to find read aloud apps that don’t require a ton of money like speechify and this was perfect,cause all you have to do is find a PDF online for free and just transfer it to the app.

Dope app!

I use audible usually but I can get pretty much any books PDF online for free so I copy the pdf and listen to it on here for free. You can choose the speed, voice and pitch which is cool, def recommend 💯 I’m sure the paid version is better on here but the free version works just as well for me

Does not work....

Kind of shocked by the reviews on this app. First off the user interface is no intuitive at all (Would highly suggest looking into some Human-Computer Interaction design principles) Secondly, the stop/pause buttons do not work. When I click the sound button it starts reading from the very top and does not stop unless I close the application. When I try to start at a different paragrah it starts to read out loud both??? Not sure what's going on with this app, but clearly not functionin as designed.

For a free app it’s tough to beat

Had a 1200 page doc I wanted to “read” but wanted to be able to listen. For a free ad with out super invasive ads, this is perfect. Voice isn’t terrible to listen to and playback speed control makes a huge difference. 10/10 for me.

Great App

Overall the app is very very good. It is a little tricky to figure out how to get PDFs into a directory were the app can find them. I am using the United States voice Aaron I believe and it is pretty good but not as smooth as I would like. I think one of the US girl voices is a little smoother. Great work!

About time

I downloaded a ton of read aloud apps and all of them was hard to use. And most of them would not turn the page or stop when the app was closed. This dose it all. For free unless I’m getting tricked with a trail. I love it.

One of the best PDF read aloud apps

Can’t ask for more. It retains the same PDF format while it reads aloud while highlighting each word. Would love to be able to pay for pro to remove ads. Good job by the developer.

Great app

One of the best audiobook and document reading apps. I use others for different document types since most don’t support PDF and if they do usually have file size limits and the like.

Weird Voices

The voices are really creepy…Some of them sing the words which is very odd. The voices sound like those creepy 90’s recordings of voices but like way more eerie. Anyways, it does what it is supposed to do I can’t get mad at it. Definitely not using this app anymore though.

Work Nicely

Would love to change the he speaker voice, but so far so good. Works well, and would recommend to follow students.

The app has the best potential

The app has the best potential and service on the App Store that I’ve seen, but often times the app crashes upon opening up, causing it to be almost impossible app to use in my phone simultaneously. I would love if the app would just power up and open up like a normal app does.

Works well - would like a paid version w/o ads

I wish I could get rid of the ads so I could use more of my screen space. For a good American voice, I recommend “Aaron”

Barely Functional

Super laggy, monotone and very computerized voice if you can even get it to start. There’s controls to adjust pitch and speed. But adjusting it causes it to break. It also read some of the punctuation in the paragraph I had it attempt.

Playback doesn’t work,loads constantly but never opens! Sadly this is the only reason I’ll have to delete the app

No automatic page turn

It is a stupid app: always needs intervention to continue reading next page although auto scrolling is on. Almost useless

Quality app that would excel with simple literature. Pros: -Adjustable speed -Adjustable voices -Easy to comprehend -98% correct pronunciations Cons: -Reads the heading and page number on every page -Struggles with figures -Struggles with hyphenated words -Slow to start the next page

There are bugs

It’s nice cause it’s free but the narrator spells every tenth word or so rather than saying it. For example, “In the beginning there was the h-e-a-v-a-n a-n-d the earth.” Really weird
