Consistently unable to schedule a payment for a future date. The only process that works is “Pay Bill Today”. Also, there is no confirmation screen asking if you sure that this is the step you want to take. If you don’t want a customer to schedule a payment for the due date, just say so. Don’t pretend that there is actually a choice to do that. I was unable to post this review with the 1star rating I wanted to give. The same way I was unable to post a payment at a future date. System is rigged.
I had an issue last month that still has not been resolved. I tried to switch to a payment plan to help me with a larger bill and it didn’t end up going through in time. I was enrolled in autopay, so the payment ended up going through in full. I had initially tried to handle the issue with several weeks notice, but my request for escalation was never noted on my file, so by the time I followed up, it was the Friday before the bill was due and it was too late. Now, even though the bill was paid in full, I found out I am still enrolled in a payment plan and there is no way to undo it. Also there’s a glitch with my current bill and it errors out when I try to download it to see the breakdown. When I called customer service they have the same issue on the backend trying to view my bill, so now they have to mail it to me and the issue is getting delayed for several more weeks. PECO is great until you have an issue and it is incredibly frustrating trying to get it fixed or understood.
Power is out due to the big Nor’easter. Last night I try to report my outage online. Says “can’t do this online, must download app”. I download app and try again. 1) lists 2 address for me to choose but the address text is blank. I pick one and success (I think) it takes me to my status page and says “Your power is on”. I click report outage and it says “Your outage is reported”. I go back and do the same thing for the other address listed because, remember, I can’t actually see the text on the list. I check an hour later and it says...”Your power is on” for both mystery addresses. So I repeat my steps to report again. I then check outage map in my neighborhood and it says “Customers affected, less than five.” !?!?!? Our entire neighborhood of 35 houses are affected, along with the street that leads to our neighborhood with probably another 20 houses on it! Anyway, this morning I check my status and, you guessed it, it says “Your power is on.” !?!?!? Neighborhood status on the outage map...yep, “Customers affected, less than five.” Unbelievable!!! Don’t force me use your app to report if it’s not going to work!!!
This app is a little bit wonky to use but not bad. Better than I think you might expect from a utility. I like how I can view usage and and actual cost data over time, as well as average temp in each billing cycle and compare against a neighborhood benchmark. That is something a customer wants! Seeing how your usage is trending - very important and meaningful especially as costs are rising. The usability is just ok hence 4 stars from me and not 5. For example moving back and forth from the part of the app that shows you current usage to usage history requires lots of taps to get back to the view you want to see. Adding a dashboard where you could see current usage, estimated usage this billing cycle, at the same time as detailed historic usage data year over year - would be cool. Maybe an enhanced wider view on iPad would be useful to the customers.
I’ve been using this app for more than a year and overall have been very pleased with it. Today I opened the app to set up a bill payment and without much thought I slid the button under the words “to pay your bill slide here” Bam! My bill was paid! The problem is that I wanted to set up my payment, not pay it instantly. OK. I made a mistake— but there was no going back. I tried to cancel it on the app— couldn’t do it. I called customer service— couldn’t do it. A second person at customer service said I would need to call my bank to stop the payment. I strongly suggest that the app designers add a follow up question when you slide that button, such as: “Are you sure you want to pay this bill now?” It’s as if PECO is trying to dupe you into the bill ASAP.
This is a 41MB energy draining PECO advertising site. It has a small utility that let’s you pay your bill online via mobile device. Just remember how big PECO is and that YOU are paying for this “free” App anyway. PECO hasn’t updated their electric grid in almost a century, but their executives & large shareholders have increased in wealth exponentially over that time. My power is out anytime there is moisture in the area. This can be from snow, rain, or even a wet fart. If I had a cost efficient choice, I’d change, but the “power industry” will never let that happen.
I’m an app developer and don’t give 5 star reviews very often. This is an amazing app. The fact that it updates quickly with real time data on power outages is very impressive. I’m sure it required a high level of system integration expertise and I want to commend everyone involved who made it possible. I’m not just complimenting the app but also the fact that’s it’s so elegantly tied into PECO’s systems. The whole company should be proud.
On 2 separate occasions, after having used the app for moths, I THOUGHT I made payments towards my bill. I’ve made payments through the app before with no problem but the last 2 times, it didn’t go through and instead of making the payment right then, it scheduled the payment. Now I have a shut off notice. I never had to change the date to make the payment for that day that I was making the payment. There’s no pop up box making sure you want to make payment now or later since you changed the date option to a scheduled date.
Who is EUMobile? Version 2.17.0 insist I give EUMobile permission to install and use my info before I can sign in, but only after it’s been installed on phone. Should have been a third party app warning before downloading. Was going to uninstall, however earlier versions no longer available. Attempted to go in as a guest, and online sign in, but was told information required to sign in. (Email, act #, and amount were already used) Duh! Of course no one is available on the weekend. Please stop giving customer info to parties we don’t know , or least post a warning so we can choose not to use them.
PECO’s reporting is not perfect, but I’m happy to have them focus on recovery instead. This app allows me to report an outage and check on progress. Usually, PECO fixes things before promised. That’s fine with me and I won’t hold them to a missed time as long as they continue to provide updates.
Crash numerous times. I’ve been a customer for over 40 years. Attempting to login or register a new account is futile. Any info I give comes back not recognized including my account number on the bill. I’ve called customer service and was told the web app is a joke. I managed to get access from customer service, however any information wanted is to call and wait till someone answers. The best explanation is we’re sorry and they are able to get on account on their end. I’m just going to switch companies. Oh wait, PECO is the only supplier in the area but it’s not a monopoly.
I just want to say how easy it is to pay my electric bill. It has become my favorite bill to pay for several reasons; my hill is reasonable every month then when it’s time to pay its a 2 step process and that’s it. Never no problems I really appreciate PECO making part of the process of bill paying a joy. Shalana Thomas
I am evaluating a solar system and would be very helpful to get my hourly usage data in order to evaluate or verify the economics of the solar. The Usage graphs can drill down only to daily usage. Using the daily usage makes the solar system payback deceptively short because the panels are not generating at night and sending back to the grid for a net meter credit. However, the net meter credit is not based upon the full cost of electricity, but only the generation portion. I have contacted peco customer service and there seems to be nowhere else that can provide this data to me. Otherwise this app has been very convenient for me. Especially to quickly find my current statement balances for multiple accounts.
It’s so frustrating to do something on the APP to save time and turn around calling customer service to confirm it, but they don’t have nothing in record. In addition I want to be able to pick a date to bill my bill not just slide and it goes right away. It needs a lot of work though.
I think PECO came up with this app to get your banking information... I downloaded the app yesterday but did not get the chance to register as of yet, so I just decided that I will go ahead and pay my bill over the phone, when I call the 877#, the automated system asked me if I wanted to use my account from the bank that I bank with. The system repeated the name of my bank and the last four digits of my checking account number. I never gave PECO my account numbers or the bank for that matter. App deleted, no thank you very much, to invasion of my privacy.
If you want to encourage people to download your app and make payments, etc. you should not charge a fee for them to do so. I love the ease of knowing what my bill will be and paying it through the app but if I have to pay $2.35 each time I pay it, I’m better off just submitting my payment through US mail.
Works fine when there are no outages, but when you need to utilize it, everything times out. “Storm mode” is on so only essential features work? Great! Except they don’t work either. All I want to do is report my outage or check on the status and expected restoration and I can’t even load a page. Year after year, storm after storm, this app and the services behind it always disappoint. And yet I keep trying. Guess there’s no incentive for them to improve it since they’re the only game in town.
The app logged me off. Won’t let me log back in. Everytime I try to log back in it says the information is wrong. Got the temporary password and the app still says it’s wrong. Now I see why people pay their bills in person. This is very very irritating. What’s the point of having this app if it isn’t going to work. Why is it so hard to change a password. What’s the point of having a temporary password if that’s not going to work neither. Over all if I didn’t have to use this app I wouldn’t.
Very easy to use. Everything at my fingertips. I no longer have to go through the internet and search PECO to report an outage or pay my bill. I can look up how much energy my home is using and make needed improvements. Highly recommended.
Peco is not a good company they charge you extra money for nothing can even explain why I'm been charged all this money bill keep going from 300 to a 1000 dollars in a month they should be allowed to do this when I figure this bill thing out I'm going suit y'all I mean that
The app has plenty of good information, including outage information, but I don’t know where anyone is paying the bill from this app. The only bill paying procedures I can find is setting up automatic, recurring payments. I prefer to pay monthly on MY schedule.
I guess you could say I didn’t expect much from a PECO app. But, this is a well-designed app that makes paying my bill easy. On top of that, I just got a push notification that the power went out at home, and an estimated time of repair. Helpful information. Nice work, PECO.
Auto pay is set up but dies not perform. We get charged interest. You cant pay without being warned if you have auto pay you will be charged twice. Can’t contact online with photo attachment. You have none to speak to on weekends. Time is finite and wasted time is costly. Time list can never be recovered. Getting a text your account is past due that you cant reply to is thoughtless. Looking forward to some credits and a 5 star rating. Whats the problem?
I love this app! I had such a long process and things to remember to get to the amount due as well as sign in and all. The app I just open it and with 2-3 touches I have confirmed and paid my bill! It’s extremely easy very user friendly. I love it! Thanks PECO
I changed my autopay bank and the app says it will take 7 days to take effect. It says nothing about needing to make a payment for the current billing cycle while autopay switches. However if you go into the regular one time payment, it tells you there. How can I know that if I’m just trying to set up autopay? I only saw that note after getting a late fee and calling PECO. Fix it so it says it under autopay please.
I like the fact that pico has its own application for paying bills it makes it very easy for me to pay my bill online and I think that the application is intuitive and easy to use
This app is very easy to use and I love how the bill is broken down to show carry over and balances. The only issue I have with Peco is one power outage damaged my new Cor Carrier Thermostat and no response despite claims sent to Peco. Would have been a 5 or 6.
The option to pay by bank account (which has no fee associated) never works, but of course the option to pay by debit or credit card (which comes with what is a $3 fee) always seems to be the only working option. It’s a small fee, but if you’re paying that every month in obviously adds up in the grand scheme of things.
I’ve been unable to set up Alerts in the app since the last IOS update. Every time I try to set up an Alert I get the same “try again later…” message. Yes- I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled it. Contacting PECO customer service was a dead end… otherwise it’s fine as apps go.
Terrible on both app and secure site to pay a bill online
Unfortunately I was unable to make payment for the teens time to my bill because of some default in your system on both the app again and the online website I don’t understand why I have to keep calling CSR talking on the phone to pay A bill makes no sense I thought it was easy to do it through an app and unfortunately you have not made it easier..
It’s really sad and frustrating that every time I need answers to my bill I can never get a supervisor I’m always being told that a supervisor has notified me which I have not seen on my phone log it’s very very frustrating that this is how a customers is being treated the representatives are very rude.
When we loose electricity power, I use this app, to verify power outage status. Also I pay our PECO bill each month using this app. Easy to Navigate,,,,, all on my 📱
PECO always shady. I have notifications set up to tell me *before* the bill is due to pay it (app says 1-7 days prior). I only ever get the notification one day after it was due, saying it’s late. They are definitely doing this on purpose. 3 stars only because I can use the apps to pay. That’s it.
Yet another online billing scam, charging nearly $2 to accept payment of a utility we have no choice in using or paying. If anything, paying online avoids having a physical person on payroll to open a bill and process a check payment, therefore lowering costs. A $2 fee isn’t a lot, but it’s the principle of the matter and feels like a rip off. Charge us LESS for paying online.
Great team !! Thank you Peco customer service team !! Above and beyond , that is what this team will do for you 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Thank you for all your hard work 💪🏼
I absolutely love this PECo app. It makes paying bills each month so easy. All the Utilities should have an App this convenient (hint hint PGW). And you see see your billing history and monthly usage.
Really impressed with the PECO app. Beautiful and well designed interface and some great features like the ability to see if power is out during a big storm etc. Great job!
The most ineffective phone support anywhere. Only occasionally do you get someone who actually listens, speaks politely or understandably. Had to repeat my account info 4 times to 4 different people. All I was trying to do was get access to your website to pay my bill. Was given conflicting and inaccurate information 4 times. Is this because you are the only game in town? SHAME ON YOU!
I just downloaded and used the app and there were three things I didn’t like: (1) it doesn’t give you a confirmation number, it sends it in an email; (2) they charge you a “convenience fee” for using a credit card; and (3) there’s no way to give feedback in the app.
App does not work constantly says it cannot login at the moment that there is a server area… I’ve been having this issue for the last two months. I’ve had to ask other people to help me pay the bill, especially since I’m vision impaired. This is extremely frustrating. They need to fix this ASAP
It won’t let me set up another account # that I recently added to my account (my son’s new apt) with the same email address that I have for my existing account and gives me no other options other than to use a different email address. I want to be able to view all my PECO account #’s under jus my email address.
Please do not download!!! Better off calling in or attempting to pay on the website.. this app won’t let you log in and will continuously give you sign in errors even after changing password and etc.. tried calling customer service and they had the nerve to tell me there’s nothing they can do 😂😂😂DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME..
Outage info is pretty good. Would like to see these improvements: — view more than most recent 2 statements — view graphs of usage over various intervals (e.g. day, month, year, billing period)
You’re killing me with this monthly GAS BILL. My current gas charges are double the amount of the past year. I’m retired and live on a fixed budget. I don’t have enough money to pay my February bill. Money grubbers!!!’ You tell me how this could happen? I call it taking advantage of us during the pandemic and using as an excuse to increase rates. SHAME ON YOU !!!!’
The app was working last month now it does not load up!!!! And this is how people are supposed to pay there bill with a non working app don’t even receive alerts no more!!!
When bill is select it needs to be a second stop page before payment And a confirmation of surety…. This is too frequent I click and one tap it’s submitting a payment and no way to stop it…. No way to easily pay Portion I done overdraft my banks and messed up files and relationships over this
Site has been down for payment, tried to make payment over phone- it’s not automated- it transfers you to an agent- extreme long wait times. I finally got through to someone and his system was loading slow too- I will be deleting the app there’s nothing convenient about this- peco has everything designed to go to a live agent there’s no getting around it
I am enrolled in automatic bill pay but the app says that my bill is overdue and payment is due immediately. I checked my bank account and the bill was paid. Also, the amount due as shown in the app is not the correct amount.
