Very handy, a real joy to share old photos

For most of my career, I have worked in graphic design and the media. When I discovered this software, I thought I’d give it a try, and tried similar ones. This one stuck around. When I started using it, I really took to it. It is so easy to use. I have no complaints. It’s great for scanning documents and photos. The real trick is placing your items onto a background that contrasts with the edges of your item. (So, dark for white papers or photos with white edges, light for most other photographs). Over the years, it has helped so much, when I go through old family photos in my mother‘s house, and my house, and share them with my siblings and the rest of the family. The scanned images resulting might not be perfect reproduction, but it beats having to slap them on a flat scanner and scan them that way, or ship them off to have somebody else do the same thing. The value is in the memories and the sharing, not if it’s perfectly square. It provides a great result almost every time.

Best in class

I rarely take the time to write reviews, but I wanted to thank the developers. To my fellow photo documentarians, this app is the best of its kind, and it merits praise. My rating is authoritative, as I have tested over 100 photo scanning apps, from the Apple App Store (e.g., Adobe Scan, Scannable, Scan Thing, SnapScan, BaiOCR Text grabber scanner, etc...). This app is the only app that is not only affordable, but that has a simple and easy to use interface. The other scanner apps cannot handle bulk scanning, and crash after loading 50 or more photos (even the ones with exorbitantly high subscription fees). So aggravating. This app has the power to scan 458 photos at once, and automatically saves your work. With no hidden fees, I can’t say enough good things about this app. I wish I’d of found it sooner. Thank you to the developers.

Love this app- it on my top 3 essential apps

Takes crisp images of original old fashioned photographs, if you angle your phone just right, they come out looking like they were taken with my phone. It has a crop option too. The very cool thing is that I can take boxes and boxes of old family photographs and have them on my phone for easy access, whenever I want to reprint or show off my baby pics lol. I do like this app, I like that you have the option of storing them on the app or transfer your pics to your phone, I do both. Perfect way to back up those priceless memories, than just having the originals in a box and running the risks of being damaged or lost forever.

Sustaining memories for lifetimes to come

This app is amazing! It’s not perfect by any means but it takes about 5 mins to get through over 40 photos, which would take so much longer to individually scan into a computer. So easy and automatically crops them for you. Just amazing. Now I can help my family digitize our (thousands) of photos from growing up for cheap!!

Unbelievable photo preservation

I was able to preserve photos for my wife on her 50th surprise birthday party of pictures that were taken throughout her lifetime. These are extra special photo preservations since my wife has multiple sclerosis. These pictures are now preserved for our children and grandchildren. Great quality and very easy to use. Thank you for developing this product

Makes preservation and sharing easy

My mother and her siblings have been working on the task of going through their parents home recently and this app has made the task much easier and quicker, not to mention the rest of us get to see some of the things. Well designed and easy to use. Great app.

Love this app!

Really quick and easy. Sometimes you have to be mindful of the angle you’re taking it because it might capture part of the background of the physical photo, but other than that, it’s awesome! It also allows you to edit the photos within the app — super cool!

Super easy

Fantastic app. Easy to use and the crop like feature for getting the photo uploaded lets you make torn edges and angles clean and just a Fab product all the way around. My only regret is that I didn't use it once I got it, I waited months before checking it out.

Photo Scanning

App worked very well, and helped us save some memories that were fading away in old photo albums. Thanks. Easy to use. Would be nice if there was a free text box in the picture information screen.

Just what I needed!

I have been dragging around hundreds of pounds of photo albums with me through so many moves. This app has given me the motivation to lessen that burden. So easy, brings the old, faded photos back to life like magic! This will be my winter project!!

Just what I needed, Perfect

I needed to take pictures of documents. This app was able to see the edges and took really good pictures. The app also allowed me to save the pictures to the photos app. Excellent experience!!!!

Perfect for capturing old photos

Love this app for taking pictures of old photos. I didn’t have many so I took a bunch of pictures of my mom’s collection. They look so great and now I have them digitally. Great app

From files??

Great app but I have old photos that only exist electronically on my iPhone. Would be great to be able to add those to my photo album as well without having to making a print so I can scan with this app. Please consider adding this feature. Thanks.

Very nice... except you must take camera shots

The fact it does not support opening an image from camera roll seems to be the most absurd decision I have seen... I have tons of film negatives digitally scanned, which could do with processing, but I’d have to print first then take a photo, so I can print the final result — again? Fix this one and it merits 5 stars!

Impressive results

This app was crucial for creating a slide show of old photos for a funeral. I could not have done it otherwise. I was thankful for how easy it is to use even in a stressful situation.

The BEST

UnFade is the best, or one the best apps for restoring pictures. I also use it as a scanner! The app is user friendly and the features are great! Definitely recommend!

Excellent

So far I have scanned some older (1960s) faded pictures - and they look brand new! Like I just took them yesterday! Let’s see how it works with iCloud now. More to come.

Great Way to Save photos

Brings old worn out photo to life and easy to enlarge the pictures for greater details. A lot less costly than having prints made. Very easy app to you.

The best...

I have lots of old Polaroid photos that are losing their finesse...this app makes it possible to save those memories in a ‘true’ color. I luv this app...it’s the best!

Stupidest app ever

You can only fix photos that you can use your phone’s camera on. I have like thousands of digitized photos that I would like to fix but can’t unless I print them messed up, then take a picture of them. This is stupid.
