Surveys are still bug riddled, and the Pinecone app doesn’t refresh when completing a survey. Still needs a LOT of work to be a professional app. Also, would it kill you to make it iPadOS compatible so it doesn’t look like a tiny phone app on a giant screen??? Come on, these are basic programming skills that this app lacks.

Got an email saying Pinecone Research wanted me to use their app. Wow! So riddled with bugs and so frustrating to use. Click on a link to take you to a survey and the link just spins and spins and doesn’t take you any where. If you click on the link more than once it comes up stating you are not qualified for this survey. Then it keeps saying you have a survey available and every time you try it states you’re not eligible. Also their payment methods have become really crappy. You used to be able just get a check or the amount deposited into your PayPal account. Now they want you to get their MasterCard gift card which I have never found a place that accepts those unless you have a great amount of money on them. They never seem to work right either. Or you can have it transferred into your bank account. Why does everyone want access to my bank account?? I’m really tired of that and really don’t want yet another company having access to my bank account. Or better yet save your survey money and buy one of their gift items that you could buy way cheaper somewhere else. Yep. Sorry I think I’m done. This has become not worth it to me.

I have been a member for a few years now and have no issues. I had 1200 points in my account and just earned points for a completed survey the other day. Today I go to log in to my account to cash out my points for a gift card and my account is now saying I have 0 points. I don’t know what is going on but for them to just take all 1200 of my points for zero reason is not cool. I contacted support but I’m not holding my breath they will correct their actions.

Have been a panelist since July of 2024 and at first I was having trouble with surveys and they would just continue to load if I used the link from my email. So I started using the browser or app and it was fine. Also I think that they should pay a little more than 300 points/$ for certain surveys but other than that my experience has been nothing but good!

It’s really easy to use! This is one of the best survey companies out there. You earn the same amount for each survey you take. You can earn a lot quickly. The only problem is that it should be easier to get back to the home screen after redeeming your points. Edit: The surveys do not load. They show up as unavailable, but they work on the website.

This app and the website can be clunky. Often the survey will freeze right in the middle, or pages will take 10 minutes or more to move on. However, this is still a legit survey site - and they actually pay you (one of the few). All in all, I still think it’s worth it.

A decade ago this was a great survey company, but in 2021 Pinecone Research (owned by the massive Nielsen ratings conglomerate) will just waste your time, make you jump through hoops, and will often still not pay you the $3 promised/survey after spending 20 minutes of your time. Please save yourself a great deal of grief and avoid this website & Karen Scott who runs this miserable survey company. P.S. There are so many other survey providers that will treat you 10 times better than Pinecone Research.

I love this app. You won’t get too much money but it’s guaranteed $3 per survey and you can transfer it right into your bank account. It will transfer in just a few days. I love this app for a little extra in my savings account

Even though I has an open survey available (sent to my email, it never showed up as being available in the app. Makes me wonder if the app even works. On top of that, I tried to update my demographics but it doesn’t allow me to. Edit or drop down menus don’t work. I’m not sure why they have an app available for their participants and not make sure it actually works. Please fix!!

I have loved this survey program for 3 years then I started having technical problems this year. I’ve emailed 5 or 6 times at least with no response. I’ve had the same technical problems all this year. Guess they don’t care about their participants anymore. Don’t go through the trouble of signing up as you’ll receive no help ever

This has got to be the worst app yet. I'll get an email at least twice a week inviting me to participate in a survey, I click on the link only to be told "thank you for your interest but unfortunately you don't quality for this study". When I open the app it shows a list of studies that are "in process". Makes absolutely no sense.

I still have to use the website to access surveys. Got an email saying rewards page would be down from Oct 1 - Oct 5 and it's now the 8th and still can't access it. Always bugs in the beginning and I hope they are fixed!

Used to be the best, but now they’re just awful. I haven’t had a survey in months that I actually got compensated for because they do like the scam companies and tell you that you don’t qualify after providing them with lots of data. If they ever give you a survey to begin with.

List of available surveys shows surveys in progress. When I click on them, I am not eligible. The list should update so they no longer appear.

I love doing the survey’s but, sometimes it freezes while trying to complete a survey and I’m having a problem redeeming my points. I’ve deleted and added the app numerous times and I’m still experiencing these problems.

There was an error in the 1 survey I received for the 2+ weeks I had this account. I wasn’t able to finish the survey due to the error. Also only received 1 survey that you couldn’t even finish. Waste of time and space

Should be zero star. Website is slow as it gets. Takes minutes to go between questions. This company should be as made to have such a worthless web site.

I seriously love this app but lately haven’t been qualified for a survey. This is one of my favorite place to do surveys. Need more surveys!!!!

Thought this app would be great and wanted it to be but I’ve only gotten two surveys in the app and when I completed them I didn’t get any points. Emails say I have surveys but are never in the app frustrating. So far disappointing.

This app used to be good, but now every survey they send me never works, it always tells me I don’t qualify. Can no longer cash out at 300 points now you need 1000 or more. I’m done with this app. Not worth my time anymore.

App still crashes, surveys don’t load in, can’t go to redeem on it because it says error occurred. Never had any luck with this app. Don’t waste your time

The payout has gone from no minimum payout to $10 payout. That would be ok if I could get more surveys

Asking for my phone number to 2-Step verification but proceeds to tell me that my “phone number is already in use”. That just makes the app unusable because I can’t get past the page.

I have not been able to com I ate with customer. I only get automatic response, and that doesn’t solve my problems. Until they get this fixed I can not recommend

They used to allow you to cashout your 300 points immediately now it’s $10 minimum and they don’t send me enough surveys to acquire that before points expire. I am livid

Can’t redeem my points in App. Error message when you try to go to the page. Fix it please

This is the worst app ever. You either get kicked out of the survey or you never actually get the survey to load. Not worth the space on my phone

I been trying to redeem my points thru the app but i alway get a error message.

Doesn’t work with any other browser than Safari. In Safari, the survey questions aren’t rendered correctly and you can’t complete the survey.

I took many surveys after saving $50 bocks, they stopped sending me more surveys and than the closed my account without let in me cash my money. Big thieves a plus

Just downloaded app and entered user ID and password and app freezes up! Doesn’t open

Been like. Few days since i redeemed my points towards their cardcentral rewards card and still havent received the redemtion email. I tell pinecone they say i have to wait for card central to send the email i called card central they say i have to call the issuer for them to send the email because card central doesnt send it. Everyone just gives me the runaround. Frustrating.

Been a panelist over 10 years and it’s high time Pinecone pays more than the same $3.00 per survey. While $3.00 is better than $1.00, is it worth my time to take surveys and only get paid pennies. Please bump up your pay scale. I am more than sure $5.00 per survey won’t hurt your bottom dollar. Furthermore, there used to be plenty at home testing products to try. I haven’t received any at home testing products in years. Testing products is a part of why I stayed with this company. I don’t want to rate products based on a description, but on actual use of that product. As for people not wanting to use prepaid virtual card, I can understand that. Where can you spend $3.00? I use my card to purchase Amazon gift cards. I go to Amazon and pick the Amazon gift card and put in the amount. Then I use virtual card to pay for it. $3.00 goes into my account balance. As stated above, Pinecone Research needs to pay minimum of $5.00 per survey. Everything costs way more today. You can’t buy anything with $3.00.

Yeah, the reviews that say the app is buggy and not well-developed are accurate! It's pretty crappily designed. HOWEVER, I absolutely LOVE the way this company is doing product evaluation and testing. The surveys are basically the same every time so you know what to expect in terms of questions and time required to complete them. They pay the same every time, and instead of most sites where it's like $0.01 for taking a 45-minute survey, they give you $3 for less than 15 minutes of your time. Best of all-- You don't have to go through an hour of qualification questions just to get told you don't qualify or earn anything! The money adds up quickly and I've earned $100-200 each year from this. Probably one of the best, if not THE BEST, side cash apps out there that doesn't violate your privacy or ask suspicious questions. I've even been sent several products to try out, which is super cool and fun, and can earn you more money sometimes. Yes, the app is horrible, so I use the website most of the time. Which can still be buggy but I've never had any serious problems. They don't really have a limit on what you can cash out after the first time, so I usually just do it about every $15-24 just in case something happens with their website. You can also buy things with points but I prefer the flexibility of currency. They don't have Paypal cash-out anymore, which is sad, but they have other good options too. Karen Scott is usually pretty good about answering questions and helping with issues as well over email. So yeah, more of a review of the company than the app, but if they just had better developers, this could easily be the best (and actually legit) side cash and product-testing app out there. Just so many good things to say about the company, despite its weaknesses in programming.
