Coming from the old pefcu app the current one is a massive upgrade. Services and features are easy to locate, and it makes managing my accounts and payments really easy. Being able to access account information like routing numbers easily is also a massive plus. My only gripe is that occasionally things feel unresponsive when something is working in the background. For example, when scanning checks after submitting them the app will hang for a moment while processing things, but the front end shows not indication of this so it feels like the app freezes even though it's working as intended. Other than small user experience things like that this app is excellent and a major improvement from how it used to be.
Application has recently started having issues with face-id and login on my iPhone XR iOS 15.8.1. The app sometimes states digital backing isn't properly configured. Restarting the app usually fixes this error but then another problem springs up when entering 2FA responses. I choose “I don’t have access” to my account-linked phone number. ~I don’t want texts or calls when logging into my accounts. The Authenticator screen reloads twice then a third time when I click “I don’t have access…” I copy and paste my secret question response directly from my password vault but then get an error to contact member services. This usually results in being locked out of my account. At this rate, I’ll have to use a web browser instead of the app for all online banking. Hopefully, you can add an option for an OTP or Yubikey Authenticator in the future. Challange questions don’t seem to be working for me. App was great for digital banking otherwise. Digital check deposit is amazing.
Whenever I deposit a check, it’s hard to take a picture because the camera push is in the middle of the window. You almost always have to submit by pressing it twice. I went to bill pay her today and try to pay a Talbots bill and it would not come up. When I try and scroll through my bill pay your accounts, It gets stuck and I have to continually go up and down. It is this way on my iPad and my iPhone. I also don’t know why you didn’t make it appear bigger on both of these devices. Very frustrating
The bank itself has poor customer service to ensure that you incur fees. 1. have to call in to a general phone number and talk to a customer service rep who isn’t authorized or knowledgeable about anything with mortgages. 2. Every year when your mortgage payment changes, you have to manually go into the bank system and update it to pull out the new amount. I have a few mortgages through different companies, and nobody else makes you do this. 3. when you forget to do this every year, they then use the opportunity to slap you with fees 4. has no ability to make a principle only mortgage payment by transferring money from an external banking account, even though this is how you can set up to pay a mortgage automatically each month. 5. When a fee does occur, have to fight with them to get it removed even though you did everything they told you to do in order to avoid a fee. The “customer service” practices of this bank reflect that they are not making it easy to pay your mortgage (so you incur more fees).
I’m loving the new feel of the app, much better than the previous one. The icons are a bit too large but I’m sure most people will appreciate it. It still takes time to load information but nothing terribly noticeable. So overall I’d say the update is in the right direction- way to go guys! However, there is one feature I was reallyyyy hoping this new app would have and that’s being able to access the budget feature. I started using the budget feature on the desktop version and it’s really helped me to keep my spending habits in line. But it’s a shame that I can’t access my budget on my phone to see how much I have left to spend in a certain category. Such a bummer not to be able to access it through my phone and be forced to use a third party app like Mint.
We’ve not lived in Laffy for years! But PEFCU has been our primary banking service no matter where in the country we’ve moved. You know who your friends are if stranded in an airport on the west coast with many little ones. PEFCU fixed my card with a chat! We’ve bought and sold homes, and bought cars with them just remote signing. My kids think of getting PEFCU accounts and they live in AZ! Any problem we faced a chat or a message in The app would make them call me even when they were closed. We love them!
I have an updated iPhone that worked fine with the old app but this app freezes frequently. I like the fact that bill pay will be easier, but it’s still too many ads and it’s slow to move from one page to the other, sometimes unresponsive and freezes. I’m not having that trouble with any other app, so it’s not my phone. I say keep working on it, please, it needs it.
This new mobile banking app is better than the previous app in that it works. However, the UI is lacking. For instance I have to scroll through adds for loans like I’m on a website from the early 2000s and the top of the screen is a different color from the menu bar. Also, each page takes longer to load than it took to download the entire app. Hopefully they continue to work on and improve the app because it still has a long way to go. If it is 3 years between updates, like it was last time, then this app will quickly become obsolete.
This new version brings the Purdue Fed Credit Union app up to the level of most other financial apps. Full functionality to see and manipulate accounts, make deposits and some administrative changes. Enabling the biometric function is a bit clunky, but still easy. Only negative comment - the only way I knew the app was updated was because my phone told me a newer version needed to be downloaded. Really, couldn’t include a note with our monthly statements??
Had been, as mentioned prior , just getting a white screen. So! After I went to log in through my browser, apparently online was down for server maintenance. That may have been the problem. Since then, I’ve logged in and the layout seems fairly intuitive and straight-forward. We’ll see how it goes!
I suggested this on the last app and I’ll suggest it again: I don’t know if others prefer this but I would rather see my credit card’s available credit, like on the website, rather than the available balance. I would think that the whole point of this app is to quickly provide information but just seeing what I owe on my card is not nearly as beneficial as seeing what I can still spend.
Giving this a 1 star until this developer addresses issues that are long standing and have been ignored. Based on previous reviews, the developer was made aware of the issue when depositing checks in at least October 2022. The image is completely backwards and the navigation is awful. It takes at least twice as long to mobile deposit a check because of this. It is completely unacceptable that this has not been addressed in the MONTHS since the dev was made aware of this. PLEASE FIX THIS!
The mobile deposited feature needs work. Make sure you make it clear to write pfcu mobile deposit on the back early into the process make it better at reading terrible hand writing and make sure it’s deposited by the next morning please
I love the convenience of mobile deposit. Other banks seem to put a hold on money before it is deposited. PEFCU has been the only bank that treats my money like it is really my money. I deposit funds and they go right into my account. Other Banks I have banked with have held “my money” for 24-48 hours before “my money, my paycheck” would show up in the bank.

I love everything about this app except there have been a few times recently that the deposit photo does not read the endorsement line. Sometimes it has taken me up to five attempts before it reads it. Other than that, it’s been a great experience!
The so works perfectly for me so far. I scheduled a future car payment and I enrolled and used fingerprint login. The functionality of the previous PFCU was virtually worthless do the rollout for this version addressed those issues apparently. Nice to have ability for deposits using the so as well. Nice job.
"Deposit amount does not match the amount listed on the check" is so frustrating. Sometimes it's great. Sometimes I have to try it 10 times. Also, the app doesn't support normal MFA, such as with an authenticator app.
PFCU mobile deposit system is ages behind most banks. The system can’t self capture check images. One has to inverse the check direction to get upright image of checks for deposit. It’s been so for the last 2 to 3 years with no one bothering to fix it with updates. This is frustrating as one has to make average 4 to 5 attempts to get checks deposited. Other banks are more efficient and less time wasting to deposit checks. Dr. Quansah
I was very happy for many years, now I’ve had my credit card hacked three times and I have concerns about the security of my accounts. I’m considering transferring my funds and would like to have someone from management give me a call.
I liked the old app well enough but they improvements they have made here are really fantastic. PFCU is outstanding and the fact that they have an app that keeps up with major credit card providers is one thing that keeps me from wanting to switch.
I have had never a negative experience. Very helpful when you need any kind of service Pefcu provides. A couple of times when something looked suspicious, I was contacted.
The user interface needs to be made easier for a better experience. So of the layouts are just unpleasant and you have to spend a lot of time going through the sub-groups in Menu to find where you need to go. The my member perks option should simplify the details on what gets you points.
You can conveniently do most things you’d do at a branch, but from your phone. The check depositing feature, however, is severely lacking. It often rejects most of the well-lit pictures I take of legitimate, clearly displayed checks. Other banking apps have accepted the check pictures that PEFCU rejects. This feature needs revision.
Not a new fan of the update bill pay. I had to re-enter all my company info again to see bill and then even got notice that I did not pay or missed payment when it had been paid
It’s useless! Previous one much better for bill payments. Slow for details to pop up even with LTE 5 bars. Not all contacts that were added show up consistently to pay on pop money. This is the worst app I have ever used.
I had to retake the photos of my check to deposit several times before it was eventually accepted. I’ve had a much easier time with other credit union apps regarding the same task. Needs improvement.
PFCU takes 3 business days to transfer money from an external account that has already been connected electronically to a PFCU account. In this time of electronic connection between financial institutions, this is unreasonable. I also find your website difficult to navigate. It is not user-friendly.

I used to be able to pay a month's worth of bills in 5 minutes for the website and I just struggled through the new app for 15 minutes to get one bill paid. The print is much too large, it cuts off the name of the bill I am trying to pay. The key pad launches in portrait even though I'm working in landscape on an iPad. Too much back and continue is needing. I just want it all on one page so I can click the bills and dates I need. Please fix this.
The new app is great but if I had a complaint/suggestion I would like to see a logout option along the bottom instead of in the pull down tab just for quick convenience.
I have banked with Purdue Federal for a long time and I have always loved them! I love this new app! It’s a great app and I can’t wait to use it more in the future! Also the staff at Purdue Federal is always helpful and amazing! One of the best credit unions in the country!
I love the new, updated app! I don’t know whose idea it was to add the finger print log in, but THANK YOU!!! I’m also happy that I can see my loans on my app now. I was never able to see/transfer to those before. Keep up the great work!
Sometimes I have a check to deposit, and every single time I use this app I think “oh yes, this bank’s app does not have a useful check deposit function” when the deposit rejects. Then I got to an app for a different bank and it works fine. Every time.
I’ve been with Purdue Federal Credit Union for many years and am completely satisfied! They have always treated me exceptionally… I highly recommend this credit union.
Directions should be given on what direction for back of check photo. If the signature area is on right side when taking photo it gets rejected…but front of check should be upside down.
I was happy it had Face ID, but honestly the app has A LOT going on in it. I absolutely hate the 'available' and 'current' balance thing. It makes no sense. Just tell me one line of what I have to spend. There's no point of having 2 different lines, bc only one is actually "accurate" ... the other is irrelevant. Also, I've only had the new app for 3 days now and it's already messing up. Ugh!
