I really like the game except I’m seeing the same facts repeated in the different categories. Also, in “Days Gone By”, I have one left to complete that somehow is set up to have 6 letters; all the others are 5 in this category. Can’t finish until this is fixed because, no matter what you put, it isn’t accepted - am guessing because it should be set up for 5 letters. Please fix.
There’s no free trial. The description is misleading.
Do NOT choose the 2-week free trial. It doesn’t exist. You will be charged a subscription immediately. If you try to manage the subscription through the app you can’t. It throws a page of errors. If you want to contact app support you can’t unless you sign up for a Google account. It appears app support is nothing more than a Google form. The game itself looks really good. The app contains so many errors and the weirdest subscription page I’ve ever seen (it appears to choose a subscription at random if you try to activate the free trial they claim to offer). Stay away.
Upon first glance, this game seems easy. How hard can it be to guess a four letter word, right? Wrong. This is a challenging game that requires knowledge of language and logic. It’s a great way to work my brain and is oh so satisfying when you actually guess the word!
Why doesn’t everyone have this? This is amazing, educational, and mostly fun! It can help with decrypting skills and many others. Thank you for making this outstanding game.
I’ve just about finished all your puzzles. Hurry up and create more puzzles. If you think I’m going to answer the round about Trump, you have no idea how much most of America hates that Insurrectionist traitor. Get him out of the game.
I really enjoyed the free parts of this, but rather than have you purchase new word packs, they ask you to subscribe. With auto-renew. Without a subscription, there's about 50 words you can play, with no free content ever added (as far as I could tell).
I love No Such Thing As A Fish and this game does not disappoint with its weird and wonderful random facts. It is addicting, so be warned! Perfect to play on the bus/train or during an extended sit in the W.C. 5/5 would play again.
Really enjoyed the limited amount of games they let you play at first. Loved it so much and almost went to purchase until I saw it was a monthly subscription. Why is everything a monthly subscription now? I just want to buy a game and be done not pay for it monthly for the rest of my life.
I love No Such Thing as a Fish but honestly was not interested in this game. Finally gave it a go and I may be hooked. It's fun, simple, and well designed
In my opinion this game would be so much better if you didn't have to pay for full access to all the words it is a very good game and fun to play but it is only a trial until you pay for the full game and all the words very upsetting ta say the least :(
This game is entertaining, challenging, and you can learn (mostly) interesting facts from it. Great way to fill time in doctors offices, long lines, etc.
I played this game on a friend’s phone and when I try to download it and play, it keeps on freezing and doesn’t work. I tried redownloading it too but it doesn’t help.
I so wish that u could make your games accessible for the blind too cause I would love to play your games they really sound fun :-) but I was disappointed when I couldn't interact with your word games. So I downloaded them for nothing sad face
A phone game with a $3.49 a month subscription isn’t worth it, add some ads and more free content, or let people pay $0.99 for a pack of words, and then maybe I would play some more.
Aaaaand then I was asked to pay $3.50/mo. I really enjoyed the idea of this game, but that's so costly over time for a phone app. It's most of the way toward what I pay for Apple Arcade for one simple game.
I absolutely loved this app...UNTIL it stopped recognizing my subscription. One reinstall and an email to the developer, and the problem still exists six weeks later.
Fantastic game! I think the game would be much more addictive if your "golf points" actually were used in the game. In each game pack, points should be kept up with. I think it would be cool to know how you did overall when you finish a pack. Did you finish over or under par? Maybe you scored a hole in one by finishing a certain amount of points under par. Maybe you scored an eagle (-2 par) or double eagle (-3 par). I think scoring each game with an over/under par is neat, but you could really add a whole other level to the game if you kept up with the overall score. Just my two cents! Great game though!
This app freezes as soon as it loads unless I am in airplane mode. This means I cannot buy in app purchases. I have played all the free levels and now I’m stuck.
The game is fun, but once you go through the free parts, you have to subscribe, auto-renew, no replay of free parts. So that is $24/year! Too bad, so greedy!
I am updating my review to reflect that it is back to working normally again. If you have issues with game icons spinning interminably, lost hints, no communication to challengers etc., sign out of the Game Center and then sign back in. This may be obvious to more tech-savvy folks but to old folk like me, it was a revelation. I deleted and reinstalled the app but never considered the Game Center. My previous review: This is a fun game! Very engaging, but I have a hard time sometimes tying the words to the category. My biggest gripe is that I wished there were a reward of a token or two for solving well under par. Really, really love the facts at the end. Also, call me naive, but I wish they had explained that the tokens don't replenish at the end of the round. I used them all up on the first round when I was learning to play. Ergonomically, I wish the hint button were positioned away from the keyboard. I have hit it a few times now by accident when I didn't even need a hint!
I have been enjoying the podcast no such thing as a fish ever since I discovered it this last January and when I heard that the brilliant minds behind my favorite way to spend an afternoon had created an app I immediately downloaded the game, and I have not in the least been disappointed. Normally a very stingy App Store purchaser and wary of in app purchases I will happily buy more word packs when I run out of the fairly extensive list of free words. While playing this game I feel as if I am learning things even before the fascinating little tidbits show up to reward me for my hard work. All in all this is by far the most entertaining and perfectly challenging game I have ever downloaded from the App Store.
My daughter introduced me to this game and I was really enjoying it until I ran into a big problem...get so far in any of the difficulty levels and you'll get stuck. The reason for this is that you are given a puzzle that once you reveal the correct letters, they don't form any English word, and believe me, I looked. One set of letters in the four letter game are "LAUF". Lauf is a word, but it's not the answer and there are no other words that exist with those letters. The same thing happens when you play the five letter game, the letters are "TLAIN". I'm quite certain of my letters so there begs the question of why. I almost wanted to pay for the hints to see what they'd claim the answers are but I don't like the method they use to keep me playing. I was considering paying for more packs, but I don't like being manipulated. I'm moving on to something else instead.
I love playing this game and trying to figure out the words. It's a great setup - you find out the letters but not the location of them in the word. Super fun! I would probably play it everyday if they made just a few adjustments. I really enjoy the 5-word puzzles, but there's no way of knowing what you're buying when you buy an individual word pack. I would more buy more packs if I could tell what level the packs are and how many letters. You don't know until you purchase it. Also, I'm not a fan of monthly subscriptions. I much prefer buying more puzzles, but wish you got more puzzles per pack.
I love it. The fun facts given for each word are actually interesting and even funny. The initial collection of games that you get for free is so large that you play for months before running out of games. The only thing I don't like is that they only offer subscription instead of a one time payment. *it is not a recurring charge though! U pay for one month, you wont be charged a second month. But I still wish it was a 1 time payment.. Bottom line: this app is worth trying.
I love games that are challenging (but not ridiculously so), straightforward, and not too gimmicky or convoluted, and this one is right on the money! Not only a good word game, Quiktionary is also a fun logic puzzle, calling on deductive thinking skills ("if this, then that...") Not that it's a big deal, but I'm not crazy about the title, indicating the game involves speed and/or word definitions, neither of which are true. Also, I was surprised that proper nouns and potty slang terms are included. Overall, a really good game though, so give it a whirl!
Wasn't sure what this game was about but figured it out on the first attempt. Seems insurmountable at first but once you apply the rules for Sudoko and the process of elimination, it's still hard but it's a brainy-crossfit, simple, brutal, extremely addicting mind fk!! i love it. it's a must for any wordsmith or puzzle mind. trust me. you have to play to understand. it has to be good for the mind. this much deduction and invention has to be a good brain exercise.
I love word games and this one is no exception! It's easy to play and addicting. No ads on the free version, though I think the single player games will run out, eventually, and you'll have to pay for more wordpacks. The only limit on the multiplayer mode is you can only play 2 games at a time. I do wish they would add stats so you know how you're doing against other players. Love it!
I have subscribed more than once, and I'm going to cancel it, because the puzzle packs aren't changed out often enough (I've finished them all). I didn't play them ridiculously quick, there just isn't any new content. Weeks have passed and I have had none to do. You can replay packs, but, boring. This could get 5 stars even though the value of the app calls more for a small one time fee than a subscription. All they need to do is care about the subscribers and give us more puzzles.
