Please add Log for iPhone 15 and lut option

Could you please incorporate the feature to log recording, considering that the new iPhone 15 Pro now supports this capability? Additionally, it would be great if we could also include the option to apply LUTs so that we can preview the final look of the footage we intend to capture with these LUTs.

Mic Problems

It’s not a bad app, but through two different phones, and two different pairs of Bluetooth headphones, I haven’t been able to use Bluetooth headphone mics as external audio on this app. I used it for a film project once, and using my phone’s audio was honestly terrible. Why is this? There’s an option for external audio, but I’ve never been able to get it to work. I used to have a pair of skull candy Bluetooth headphones. My current pair is the Jabra GN Elite 25e. Both have mics which work perfectly fine on phone calls, the memo app, and Siri, but not here. Is there anything I can do about this? It would help greatly, and definitely bump my rating up a star or two.

Replaced Filmic Pro

I have used Filmic Pro for years, but the interface is becoming old and difficult to use. I was searching for a new professional and found it with REC. The quality it produces is on par with Filmic with a far better interface and menu system. It has a similar interface as the built in iOS camera app, but with all the pro features you need. Great Job!

The seasonal icon bug is fixed—thank you! On my home screen I have a folder with several pages of video apps, all the usual suspects, but this is the one I’m using due to excellent timecode integration. Overall excellent interface too. One wish: please give the option to display some version of a ‘leveler’ in the viewfinder, like most video/photo apps do.

More, More, More is how I Like it.

Every time I come to this app I learn something new so I say keep it coming. The more I use it the better I get and the more I use it the easier it gets. Like an app should be in 2023! It works for me

I bought REC because I use Camera+ and want to support the developers. it has more options than the native Apple video app and the controls are easier to use. I can switch inside Camera+ to REC and vice versa, which is handy.

Love it so far but have questions

I love the manual focus on the Camera+2 and Rec apps but just learning to use. Is zoom limited to 6x with manual focus on camera? And is the only zoom choice for video the Tele choice or is there a sliding scale function?

Time stamp timecode not working

Purchased this to sync several iPhones bc it advertised it would record time stamp timecode but it only records elapsed time. Maybe I’m doing something wrong but can’t make it work. Wrote developer using link in app but no reply yet but it’s only been 3 days. If this really doesn’t work it’s important before you buy.

I rely on this as my primary video recording app. The settings and controls are intuitive and powerful. I wish more people would find this app and see how great it is!

Great UI/UX, lacking features

This app is beautiful and fun to use, but it’s lacking some features. Can you please add some additional color profiles such as LOG and the ability to save and switch between presets?

If I could rate this app 0 stars I would.

I’m not sure if the app developer is aware of an app killing bug that is RAMPANT in this System but it will CONTINUOUSLY NOT SAVE the video and deletes them…. THANKS! I have the 1 Year subscription and cannot wait to cancel it when it comes to an end. I am a Content Creator and this Paid For App isn’t even doing the basics. My Brand New IPhone 13 pro max is not compatible, NO GOOD.

I want to give it 5 stars but...

I like the simple easy to use UI, but no LOG? I love using it with my TentacleSync Track E, but no LUTs, presets or LOG? Want me to use this app more? Give me just a little more control.

I wouldn’t trust the developer as far as I could throw them

This is the same developer that threw their Camera+ customers under the bus by “selling” it to another developer who will not honor previous purchases. Beware, the same will probably happen with this when they decide they need more money.

I had to laugh at the description of the 5.2.1 update. Three paragraphs of revolutionary, incredible, etc. Yet I come away with absolutely no idea what the update includes that’s new and how it works. Looks like it was written by ChatGPT. 🥴

Limited

No zoom?! At minimum it needs the ability to zoom. It also needs a quick tap ability to switch from video to Camera +2. I purchased this app and I have NOT been available to use it because of these limitations.

Easily one of the best

I have FilmicPro and Mavis but I also liked this app for it's simplicity, clean UI, ease of use and capability. One of my favorites!

These are the same people that created Camera+ and then decided to take everyone’s lifetime unlocks away and try to charge them again. Don’t waste your money on ANY of their products!

Great App, needs more features

I really like a lot about this app, but really need to turn the cameras flash on during video recording.

Not ready

Their camera app is far more feature-packed and fleshed out. The good: Dolby Vision. Great controls for quickly switching between auto, spot, locked and manual exposer/focus. Audio levels. Mic choices plus pickup patterns. Timecodes. ProRes. The bad: No focus loop. No focus peaking. No focus racking. No zebra stripes. No false colors. Very little bitrate control. Not many resolution options.

App crashes when connected to an audio interface

I use audient id14 and the app crashes as soon as I hit record. The built-in camera app works fine.

Audio is awful

Great features but no manual to read about features and the audio has a horrible hiss. If the audio is fixed it’s a 5 star app. I’ve used other video recording apps no hiss. Please fix and I’ll amend the rating.

Needs an apple watch companion app!

This app is near perfect. Although i do wish it had the color grading options that Filmic Pro has, this is not a big deal because I can tweak the footage in post. I do love that it has Tentacle compatibility as well as 29.97 fps! But the one glaring omission is the lack of an Apple Watch companion app. I rely on that app with both the native camera and with Filmic Pro in order to put the camera on a stand and the. Make sure i’m framed properly before I start filming myself for my YouTube reviews. This is a critical part of my workflow. So please add a mini apple watch monitoring app!

So close to the perfect camera app for me

Update: I am now downgrading from a 4 star to 2, beyond the non 59.94p support I have found that the video recording cannot be deleted and instead remains on the phone as “other system data” which means if I’m doing a long shoot the only way to clear the data is to either completely wipe my phone and restore or hope that there is an iPhone update that will remove that data. This makes it completely unusable in back to back long shoot days. What drew me to the camera was the comparability with the tentacle Sync E. However the Rec app records 60 FPS at 60.03p compared to the more traditional 59.94p. This causes quite a noticeable drift in the video that negates the reason why I bought this app to begin with. Hopefully the developers can add a 59.94p frame rate option and also a offset option (like what the tentacle time bar app has for its GoPro synchronizations) However, I do realize that using this app to sync time code for 60fps videos is pretty niche so unless you are planning on doing such videos then this app is amazing.

Useless

After downloading the app to my iPhone 8 Plus, using it was impossible. Every time I open the app it automatically starts recording for about two seconds, then another two seconds, then another two seconds, and so on and so forth. I try hitting the stop button but it’s no use.When I open the video library I had about 20 clipsThat were two seconds each.
