As of June, 2023, version 2.04 of the app works great for me on an iPhone. My only minor complaint is having to type my login to the app every time I use it. Many apps support Face ID/touch ID, and that would be handy here
It seems like businesses do not cater to the customers anymore, but my experience with Red Pocket has been absolutely top-notch! My service plan ran out the day before a very important phone interview for a job that I desperately need. I did not have the money to turn my service back on until three days after my service got shut off. I got on with the chat care of Red Pocket, and although it took them a while, they got my service turned back on for two more days so that I could take my phone call. I was absolutely shocked. I was 99% sure they were going to come back and tell me there was nothing they could do because it seems like that’s the norm these days. Nobody wants to help the small guy! Well, the small gal in this situation! But Red Pocket came through and hopefully they will be an integral part of me obtaining a new job! I just cannot thank them enough! This is the worst phone service ever, better to go with a tin can a string than this service. No one knows what they’re doing on customer service, it’s just a circle around for hours. My phone stopped working about 2 weeks after buying it, wasn’t getting any data and wasn’t able to text or make calls. Contacted support, they’re only advice was resetting my device, I spoke to tens of people all telling me to “ just reset your device” and when I told them that I’ve done that multiple times they just insisted on me doing it. Even canceling this garbage company took way to long. I know it’s one of the cheapest options out there, however save your money and time and go somewhere else.
My experience with Red Pocket has been great. I assume it’s because I understand how and why the 3G shut off works lol most of the reviews are people complaining about things they had more than enough time to prepare for. SERVICE - The service itself has been great. No dropped calls, clear calling with no echo or cracking, visual VM, Wi-Fi calling and plenty of data. My favorite part is the Hotspot that piggie backs off the 100GB data I get with the unlimited plan. They are one of the best MVNO’s in my opinion. Just know they use AT&T network so 3G is a no go. Have the proper phone the network supports 😉 THE APP - Basic and simple to use. Nothing special. Would be nice if they had a section that shows you how much you’ve used, even on the unlimited plan. All in all, I’d recommend Red Pocket Mobile to my friends and family.
seriously people, this is the slowest app i ever used. logging in takes 15sec. and you need to click first to confirm that you want to use face ID, well, that’s not the sense of Face ID. and i might understand that you can’t stay logged in when you close the app, but switching to another app for a second and coming back to this one, makes it rotate for 10-15 sec., even if there is no data that needs to be reloaded. And in the end, there's not much you can do with the app, it shows you how much data and minutes you have left, but not when and how you used it. everything else you click on, takes you to the website.
Again two more updates on this app and still cannot log on when using voice over screen reader, please fix this seems like such a small issue this app use to work fine until it got updated...... I am blind and cannot login anymore since latest two updates This app use to work with Voice Over screen reader but since latest two updates i cannot login anymore , i think they should fix this instantly .. turn on voice over screen reader and try to login please yourself who ever updated this then you will see what mean. The app is okay. If you’re considering paying for service do the free trial or buy one month to start. Send texts, make calls, send emails, try every feature and app you have both on cellular and WiFi. If there’s a problem you’ll have no leverage if you’ve paid for a year. My experience has been that customer support are friendly but often offer no solution.
I’m not joking!! First of all, if you use data at all, make sure you get the plan that has double the data you think you’ll need. Why? Because THE SECOND you hit your data limit, THE INTERNET SHUTS OFF COMPLETELY. No iMessage, no checking your bank account app, you can’t even check the Red Pocket app!! And I have no idea what others are saying about excellent customer service. When my girlfriend (who is on my plan with her kids) reached out to Red Pocket the first time the internet was shut off, she was told it was the kids’ fault for being so “irresponsible”with their internet usage!! Are you kidding me?? And, as if to add insult to injury, I’m STILL paying for the “unlimited” plan ($40/month); my current phone update on the app SAYS unlimited, AND I DON’T HAVE INTERNET. Absolute garbage. I’m going back to AT&T. At least my loved ones won’t be called irresponsible by their customer service.
I am not sure why there a people saying the app doesn’t work. I have three lines with red pocket. The app shows all three lines and all the pertinent information. I have been a customer many years and red pocket has saved me a ton of money. The Plans are the best I can find out there.
The Red Pocket app has come a long way since the beginning of the year. It no longer crashes every time I open it. I am able to log in and get to my account details to process my service payments.
When I tried to port out my number, they refused to release my number and terminated my line immediately even though I paid until the end of the month. Their customer service accused me for doing fraud even though it’s their company who terminated my paid service and refused to give me a refund. Also, the company is racist because they use fake avatars of white people for their customer service agents.
The RP app has been broken for what feels like ever in the fast paced MVNO game. Real improvements have been made. I will probably still switch to H2O when my yearly plan runs out unless RP offers unlimited talk and text for $60 bucks.
This app was never very good. Try to get it to refresh and it goes off and sometime doesn’t come back. A time or two I had to restart my phone to reset this darn app. Better off logging in from a browser and delete this app. It had been this way for time immemorial so don’t expect any improvement.
RP is proved right and works. But it’s a constant battle to keep everything working. This app, while slow, used to allow me to check on how much data each number day left that month. Now, it no longer shows data left… Which was the only useful thing about the app. 4* for red pocket overall 1* for a worthless app
Feels a lot less clunky than it used to, but functionality is still subpar. It doesn’t refresh your stats when you pull the window down, even though you get the spinning icon that is supposed to indicate a refresh.
I’ve been pretty happy with red pockets mobile service, but this app is a nightmare…everytime I log in it just goes to a plain white screen … I get that red pocket is a “low cost leader” - but given that the text to get data balance doesn’t work anymore and this mobile app is garbage, not sure how anyone is expected to reasonably monitor their usage
The app and Red Pocket service is poor because it seldom works and after many emails and calls it didn’t improve. I have used 6 carriers in the past 15 years and can say unequivocally that Red Pocket is the worst. Poor customer service because of their accent.
The signal quality is really poor even it shows few bars. Feels as if you do not have network at all. Recently moved and requested support to shift to GSMT due to no network coverage on GSMA and was denied help as I got annual plan. What a crazy reason. Forced to shift to other network.
These guys false advertise unlimited data when it’s really not unlimited. I paid for the 10$ plan and after my 1gb ran out I had no more low speed data and customer service didn’t help! Just get visible it’s way better.
Terrible customer service. Their customer service us so inept they should have to pay the customers they alienate. App is garbage. Good luck, trying to change a credit card payment. The level of basic intelligence is just not there for this crew.
Do not buy their unlimited plan, after 30gb, they turnoff my network. Then said , they only offer low speed usage on network. And , then, after use couples data. They turn off everything. Suuuuuuper low performance, low recommended
Just use the web interface instead. It’s a lot faster than the app and doesn’t crash. They have some work to do. RedPucker is a great carrier any rate.. once everything is settled.
They cant port me in or release my phone from red-pocket I bought there e-sim with Red-pocket and its showing an error while activating Esim. I have Confirmation number for red pocket Imei number of my phone Account number of old carrier Passcode/port out number of old carrier By providing there details to service provider they cant port me in or release my phone from redpocket
Disappointment. I love my Redpocket but not so much this app. I have iPhone XS Max and after putting my log in and password it just went blank. Nothing happened. Nada. When are you going to fix it? The last review of this app not working was on 2018! Unbelievable…..
