Great app for tenant!!

If you are looking for the app which can help you to search for the right rental property for yourself and your family, then this app is perfect fit for you. It's user friendly, just write down the name in the area where you want to search then the system will do the rest for you. I love the way it shows on the map, all available rental property along with price and pictures when you tap on it. You can request to apply or request a tour for a house you like by just a click. Also, I love the "heart" aka favorite feature so you don't loose the property which you are interested in but need more time to think about it. This app is absolutely helpful for all tenant. Easy to use, easy to apply. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Great to find places. Tech could improve

This app is great to find places on. Filters are helpful and mostly accurate except for when people list their basement apt as a home. Applying through Rentler is great! The price is great! No hard inquiries on credit. What needs to improve: photos! Poor handling of photos on the web and app. Can’t see the entire photo unless I tap twice because the software is cropping the photos on listing. So to see the whole photo tap twice on said photo. Then I can’t scroll thru photos quickly tho. This really slows down the speed and efficacy of looking thru listings. And They are cropped enough that most of the time I want to see the whole photo. Next.. the directions link simply doesn’t work. Doesn’t matter the listing, it fails. Photos are massively important! Directions help but not as important as the photos.

Extremely User-friendly app

Highly recommend if you are looking for a rental property and doesn’t know where to start! This app is highly easy to use, it helps you compares properties in the area so much easier. I have been using Rentler for a couple of years now! So happy that they finally launch an app. I am in search of a place to move and this came just in time. I easily could browse using the map & the filters, I can look at all availability so much faster. Another great feature is that the map give me instant price of a property. The absolute best is the message feature, it makes communication with landlord so much easier! I can get information quicker and stay extra organized.

Terrible

This app is useless to pay rent through! I can fill out an application, or search rentals through it. My landlord used it to create my entire lease. But EVERY TIME I pull up my rental via this app, it does NOT allow me to pay my rent grouch it, nor does it show my payment history. So as a renter, it’s one pointless app to download when I have to go to the Rentler web browser directly just to pull all that info up.

ALMOST perfect

I’ve been using Rentler on my desktop for a year or more, and it runs well if I visit the website through mobile chrome or safari. The website is well built and easy to navigate. When I saw the app, I thought, how great! But I can’t seem to find a way to pay my rent to my landlord through the app. I searched for my address, thinking I could sort it out by manual plug in but no luck. It only shows places available to rent. I will continue to use Rentler. As it’s been a breeze to make payments. I just hope this feature comes to the app because that would be make the experience perfect 🙂

Rent price sorting

I really like the app overall. It’s easy to use and accurate but I have complaint that is pretty annoying. I don’t like when you are sorting through monthly rental prices that you can only set it to “$1000 or less, or $2000 or less”, as I am looking for prices in between. It would greatly increase efficiency, especially because I am also looking for a rental in a downtown area, and it pops up a crazy amount of units within that prices range. Even adding a $1500/month or less option would be helpful.

Easy to use!

I loved how easy this app was to navigate through, and how many options were available that fit our exact needs! We were able to find the perfect place through Rentler, and suggest it to everyone looking for a new place!

Not Great

App frequently freezes and crashes. Places I browse don’t pop up when I click on them, or other listings pop up instead. I encounter loading issues almost every time I use the app. Once you exceed $900 in the price menu, highest and lowest prices can only be set by the thousands, so if your price isn’t set on an even 1000, you will be shown listings you aren’t interested in or you cannot afford. This app wants to be convenient and user-friendly, but is sloppy in its execution. Feels unfinished.

So many flaws

This app doesn’t remember login in info, making you log in again and again. It doesn’t remember what properties you’ve already looked at, only the ones you saved (so you end up looking at all the ones you weren’t interested in over and over). And worse if all doesn’t let you pay rent on the app! You have to use the website and web browser! There is a reason Zillow is favored and I am deleting this one.

Rentler

I have used Rentler Service before. They found the perfect summer apartment, for my enjoyment. Now I have in the process of finding a long term home to occupy and find the process easy to navigate and have picked a home I like. Kathleen

Great experience

I like Rentler’s interface and navigation more than any other apps! Also, I like how this app shows all the listings on the map and how easy it is to navigate it. We used it with my husband to find a new rental in Salt Lake, and it was so much helpful!

Make renting great again

The Rentler team - they’re tremendous people - believe me when I say they’ve put a lot of money in making renting an easier experience for both landlords and renters. Truly magnificent app but truly magnificent people.

Crappy app

You can never even get to the “enter” button because the keyboard only swipes up or down. Biggest nuisance is when this happens on the price filter.

Main bug in search

Great app– I’ve found some nice listings. Only thing is there’s a bug with the bedroom search, I can select it but when it comes to actually choosing how many bedrooms, it doesn’t do anything. Hope this helps

Why not as interactive as the website?

The app is great if you’re looking for a rental. But, I downloaded because of the features on the website; like being able to pay rent. Kinda shocked it’s not even a feature on the app. Are you planning on upgrading any time soon

Great! Could use small improvements.

There is no way to enter exact numbers for price ranges. You can sort by 100 increments but only under 1000... not much help there. Also I wish you could filter by certain types of parking, not just if there is any or not.

Love + tip

Love the app, it’s fantastic. One piece of feedback id add is the ability to gray out places that you’ve already seen (over the entire time spent on app for logged in accounts).

AMAZING APP!!

What an easy to navigate app! So easy to see all the the properties available to rent in a desired area whether traditional apartments, shared rooms or entire households. Will definitely be recommending to friends and family looking for a place to rent!

User friendly Landlord/Tenant App

Worked perfectly for my tenants. Rentler screens the tenants and does a background check. Rentler has all the tools needed, so I don’t need a property manager. Highly recommend!

Incredible user interface

Rentler spent a long time ensuring they had all the data needed to make a great app! I love the map feature on it. Very easy to find what you’re looking for.

Rentler has been such a great partner for me. With the free screenings and the background check, and also payment collections. It makes my life so much easier.

Needs mobile app help

Cool concept similar to Zillow but the application process is wonky and has some major roadblocks that don’t allow you to continue unless you guess and avoid getting locked out.

Session constantly expires

I sent a landlord a message using this app. I was never asked to allow notifications from this app, so I assume I won’t get any when they DO message back. On top of that, my session expires periodically, so I have to constantly sign back in. There’s no biometric auth options, so I have to type out my email and password every time.

Always logs me out

the app is fine other than every time I open it, it tells me the session has expired and I have to login again. It doesn’t remember my email. No option for Face ID. If I go out of the app for more than an hour, I’m logged out again. Suuuuuuper time consuming.

Horrible all around

App has constant force closes, the website can’t keep you logged in when changing through pages on multiple browsers, customer support just dismissed any issues you have, no one from tech support reaches out and the devs don’t care about these comments. Trash all around.

Almost perfect

The app needs more improvement when it comes to speed, interface, functionality, features, and the biggest thing is it always lag. Update 6/5: developers, please make the app crash proof. It always crashes and it’s being useless right now.

Lazy programming for the price filter

So I can filter in $100 increments if I am looking for a rental under $1000 but only in thousand dollar increments after that. If I am looking for a $1200 rental I don’t want to have to see those among a bunch of $1700 and $1800 rentals. Would love this app otherwise.

Manage rent & maintenance requests?

If I remember right I think I used the app to find my place. But for current tenants/landlords, there really needs to be a feature to manage maintenance requests and pay rent

Can't even log in

It's silly that in 2022 an app in the app store would still lack iPad support, but when pulling up this app and attempting to use the "sign in" button on any page, they are all inert.

Garbage app.

I would rate this app higher if it wouldn’t crap out every 15 minutes and then not be able to reload it for another hour. How am I suppose to find a place to rent if the app won’t work?

Filters don’t work

I have to waste my time sorting through apartments that don’t meet my requirements despite selecting filters to remove them. Customer service couldn’t fix the issue.

As a Landlord

This all is completely useless unless you are searching for a rental to rent. Cant communicate with your tenant. Cant see payments or billing history or any features that are useful to Landlords (or tenants trying to pay their landlord)

Good For Tenant Not For Landlord.

The app is supported for tenants only and has no landlord version. Hopefully that in the future Rentler can add an landlord version to it.

False marketing on free credit reporting

Although Rentler’s marketing claims free credit reporting, this feature is only supported for properties located in Utah. Any other out-of-state properties will be redirected to an affiliate company TenantCloud which incurs a regular monthly charge.

Inaccurate listings

Landlords are allowed to inaccurately list their properties to get views, wasting tenants time. There should be an option to mark properties as “inaccurate listing.”
