Received a brand-new faulty machine that didn’t work. They tried troubleshooting remotely, but after multiple attempts realized it was a faulty machine. After numerous emails and having to explain the problem every time to a new service personnel, we realized getting help remotely is no easy feat in case a problem arises in future. We decided to return the product for a full refund as we were within our 30-day trial period. After multiple back and forth emails, we were able to return the product for a full refund. However, they initially charged us a restocking fee of $199, but when pointed out we were returning a faulty product, we were refunded that as well without further questions. Overall the experience was a hassle, if not a trying one. We are just glad that we did not lose any money on it, but a lot of our time was wasted. The quality check department should be doing a better job. Having to explain a problem every time to someone new doesn’t count as good support either. Have to mention that whoever we spoke to/emailed to were pleasant to deal with, even if things didn’t work out! Cannot give a rating on the product as we didn’t get to make even a single roti. Customer support gets a 3 star for trying to help, but it is a hassle. Would probably give this product a try again if and when it becomes available in store with in-person service.
Despite all the flashy videos, marketing, “testimonials” - this is a defective product, expensive to fix, and they have THE LOUSIEST, dishonest, customer service. Our first Rotimatic started leaking oil internally in 2020 - after months of useless back and forth with their “engineers” (glorified call center techs who waste your time regurgitating incorrect info to you) we escalated to the CEOs and got a replacement Rotimatic. Less than 100 rotis into the new one, it malfunctioned. Their call center staff (who has extremely rudimentary diagnosis techniques) tried to convince two software engineers that their “sophisticated sensors” detected that we were using the wrong brand of flour. When we took them into our pantry to show them their recommended flour brand, they started stuttering new nonsense. Email to the CEO - unanswered. We’re debated filming a video dropping this piece of junk off a second floor parking structure - then decided against dirtying the ground with the subpar quality of this true piece of garbage. We are giving it away for free to someone who likes to tinker with gadgets - that’s the only use for this pathetic machinery. Don’t buy it - saves you no time, you spend hours diagnosing and fixing.
Doesn’t follow privacy policies and forced user to share location. If location info is set to “don’t use” , it just hangs without providing why it just hang there. Very difficult login/account setup as backend service doesn’t handle requests properly. it took 2 weeks to resolve them. Then stuck with “connect” operation. Did the steps as described to setup network and connect to machine on local network but after couple of screen it just shows cancel connection setup without letting know why it can’t find rotimatic even though wifi is connected to rotimatic networks. It seems app is not test and costumer ready but has been pushed to customers.
Haven’t been able to make Roti’s in my rotimatic from the past 5 months. Everyone I try doing it it only adds to the labor on my work by the Rotimatic spraying out loose atta mix with water and telling me either the four is not right. I even tried changing the flour with the one I originally used but still the same thing keeps repeating every time. I had even bought extra warranty for the machine but team Rotimatic doesn’t even respond so cannot reach them for support. Very upset.
Wish I could give negative stars. Cannot even make a 10 rotis without any error or problem. Roti comes out folded, or not cooked, or sometimes the roti dough just comes out without getting flattened (just a ball cooked from top and bottom). Then there is a problem where it keeps saying dough not perfect, remove and clean - 40% of the time. Then its horrible when it scatters all the flour and does not even make a dough and I have clean everything.... Looks like they didn’t even test it and no upgrades work. Waste of time and energy.
This is the company which is ready to take our money all the time. Their machine is not reliable and every year you keep buying this expensive machine. Their customer service is worst which here in the USA is treated as an insult. For repair, they need half of the cost of the machine or buy a new one. I hope people realize that using this is waste of time and money. Building up the fake expectation that this machine is gonna last for long, plus save our money.....not possible. I wish I could minus rating but not possible.
Worst app ever. The app just gets stuck in the initial connection step to rotimatic wifi, even though my phone is connected to the machines wifi. I have restarted the machine, reinstalled the app, tried different account on a different iphone, made sure my wifi is on and LTE is off, nothjng works. If there is an award for the worst app of the year, this app will win it hands down. How do you build an app that fails in the first user setup flow !?! Shows you the amount of thought and engineering that went into the app.
Hi, I purchased this product about a month agao and since then we have been trying to set up the machine but have not been able to get a single roti out of it. My parents are old and they have been remotly troubleshooting without any luck and that too after too many calls from our end. They are not doing any quality check and just shipping everything for money. Kindly refund my money as soon as possible
The app has not been working for me. The machine has not been working for me for months. I’ve tried to contact the team via Facebook and I am always told to contact through the app. There is no way to reach them when both the machine and app are not working properly. They have zero customer support and zero willingness to help. The whole experience has been so disappointing and unacceptable given the price paid for the rotimatic!
This review is primarily for rotimatic support through their app. I have had to reach out to them on few occasions and they have been patient and helpful. The initial response time is generally high - few hours but they are quick and accommodating to setup a remote session for live troubleshooting.
our machine got damaged a month ago and we get a replacement machine in a few weeks, the customer service was very helpful overall from shipping to getting a new one in replacement.
Rotimatic works alright but has NEVER been able to connect to the app on my iPhone. It never went online to get latest firmware and additional menu options. Even after numerous calls and support tickets the app is still busted. Support team keeps sending the same OLD docs and video links that do not work on iPhone 12 Pro Max model. It also does not work on iPad Air and iPhone XS Max models. This app deserves 0 stars.
Started well but no good support mechanism once my machine part were deemed unfixable
I don’t like their support staff and the way they handled my case when my machine stopped working was very unprofessional. They diagnosed and stated that my machine was unrepairable and then offered me to buy a new machine at a much higher price than what I had paid initially. No more falling into this trap. So no more Rotimatic for our house hold. Getting fresh rotis again now. :-( Bad after sales, support.
We had an issue with our Rotimatic and decided to contact the technical help team. They were great! Quick to aid us and help us schedule an appointment. Our issue was resolved within 15 minutes and remotely! Very efficient and friendly staff.
When we got the rotimatic, the other couples who had it told us to be ready for frustrating errors and around 10-20% wastage. We were. What we were not ready, was for pathetic and useless customer service. No one responds from the support, unless its a standard answer of “we have forwarded your query to right department”. Than, we keep waiting. No one will contact customer back with resolutions, courtesy messages.. nothing. Complete silence. Right now, i have ordered substitute parts (for the current faulty ones), and waiting since 15+ weeks.. and their FB support page tells me to connect with someone over Rotimatic apps chat. The app WHICH IS NOT EVEN WORKING! Why do they even have this on app-store?
We haven’t had a ‘good’ week with this experimental toy in the almost 4 months ownership. It just doesn’t seem to be able to do the basics right - make a half decent round roti that isn’t getting stuck in the dough making process and getting cooked evenly. Every session with tech support has ended with new settings getting pushed and then to watch over next few days as the machine ‘learns’. Well, it doesn’t seem to be a good learner. While customer support team tries all options including to increase using more oil, nothing has worked out consistently since this was delivered on Dec 27, 2023. Huge watch out to those still considering it.
Machine doesn’t work Then app does not work - every support call drop in 5-10 mins. Trying to get support through app is painful i received replacement machine after torcher of deleting with support many times. To setup new machine, I have to go to the setting on the app, Every time I click on setting - app closes. Product just doesn’t work - machine, app and service.
My personal dashboard helps me to keep track of my rotis so far and actually tells me how much time I have saved so far. Although I would like to have the capability to operate machine remotely to have more convenience.
I was a prospect buyer but everyone is complaining about the machine breaking down and extremely poor customer service when trying reach them for help. I hope people who cares about their product reads it and fixes it or someone better buys them out. It’s a great concept in right hands. May be the founders made enough money and do not care if the company has any future.
The app experience is so bad that I wasn’t even able to sign up. I have been waiting for two days and still haven’t received an OTP. And the support team is responding to my emails, with incorrect soliton, without even understanding the problem fully. I don’t know when will I be able to start using this expensive piece of garbage.
We are also getting frequent troubles with Rotimatic. It fails consistently on first couple of rotis, if not later. Recently, it has started warning us about kinder part misaligned, and it does not go away by following suggested fix by Rotimatic. Funnily it goes away if I unplug and replug Rotimatic. Very frustrating.
Got my new rotimatic today, as instructed tried connecting to app and wifi. But this app has “white on white “ text, so obviously can’t read anything. Can you people fix this. This is a horrible example of your software unfortunately. Other reviews yet to come when I am actually able to use my rotimatic. Thank you
App is really crappy. I don’t think they test it thoroughly. For instance, the app says my rotimatic is not connected to internet but the machine says it is (and it indeed is connected) And if you need help from customer service (which you will), good luck! Also, keep in mind you still have to clean it every day and the cleaning is quite tedious. Rotimatic is way overpriced for what you get.
I forgot my password. The “Forgot your password” link doesn’t work on the website. So then, the support pages on the website tell you to use the mobile app for chat support. I download the mobile app. IT DOESN'T WORK!! It won’t load anything past the ‘Rotimatic’ banner. Is this company still in business?
We were thrilled to receive our Rotimatic and tried to set up. Downloaded app has only a video but no functionality. We tried to remove and install multiple times but no use. This app was uploaded a day ago and I think they screwed up. Very disappointing not sure when this will work
This App does not work with my I phone 7 plus. Reinstalled several times but can not get chat from support. The support team can see my messages but I can not see their response. Please fix it. Thanks
I just bought a brand new Rotimatic. Received it today. My first day experience: Day 1 : - website user id and pw didn’t work on app - tried setting up new credentials, app crashed - went to log in on web site, I get message the user id doesn’t exist - used Apple id to log in - cannot set up wifi - system hangs after I enter the wifi credentials - app crashes when I go to setting to check wifi - been on chat with support for few hours - no luck And this is day 1 as a brand new owner. After paying almost 1500 and waiting 3 months to get the machine.
This company is a hoax! DO NOT Buy unless you have $1000 to waste. When you call customer service, each day ther is a new person who will claim to call you but never does. When you are ready to return it within the 30 day warranty period, they will not call you back. I have contemplated suing them for a violation of terms and conditions. Never buy this !!!!
I’ve had my machine for years now. Trying to clean a part bc i found mold- i didnt even think it could grow there. And now i’m trying to connect the machine to wifi, it suggested i connect using the app. And the app keeps crashing - in either option i select, sign. In via fb or regular. Frustrated.
it took over my house oh god oh gd oh help help oh god pls help oh god. It has the unique ability to learn and adapt in a way similar to humans. It follows the principle of Darwinism, because it is able to evolve so no human can defeat it. Good rotis tho.
Ordered rotimatic plus with the intention of easing my work but so far it has been the worst experience. Sometimes it says flour is not proper, dough is stuck . Paid $1800 with over $129 for shipping which is ridiculous. I think ninja does a fine job of making dough than rotimatic . Definitely returning it. $1800 for uncooked improper roti is disappointing
I am trying to sign up to Rotimatic through app, but can’t see countries to select. When you select countries, you can see white selection box to choose countries from, but can’t see countries name. You can feel it’s scrolling but can’t see names. Am using Apple iPhone 12 Pro.
Is anyone still maintaining this pathetic app?? The last update was a year back. Are the founders of this company still alive ?? When i click on settings it keeps crashing, and no hope of this ever getting fixed coz the app has seen its last update more than a year back !!
If I could give it 0 stars I would. The app is not responsive, text shows up white on a white background. The machine makes Rotis, but then errors and you need app to update the software, which doesn’t work. Do not spend the money to buy this machine if they cannot fix the app.
I am not sure how these companies release apps without fully testing them. The app does not recognize that the iPhone is already connected to rotomatic wifi. No troubleshooting help nothing..absolute rubbish. It’s beyond me why does this app need access to your location information to work.
The app does not load up even after 5 mins. I don’t have network bandwidth issues as other services work. There is no other way to chat with their support team so a very frustrating experience
Unable to use the app as it keeps crashing as soon as I start. Reinstalling doesn’t help. Are you paying your developers enough? Just so you know, you also need a QA team to test new versions before you release them. Wonder how Apple approved this version.
Had very bad support experience when I was having issues with machine last time, support tried to quote super high charges instead of understanding the issue. Turned off the machine for 3 months and it started working again.
Does not work, have to call tech support each time when we need to make roti. So far Rotimatic has refused to provide us a refund while we are still within the 30 day period nor are they providing a replacement machine. $1600 down the drain so far.
My Rotimatic is stopping in between while making rotis. Trying to contact the support team but the app is not working either. It looks like company has shut down or something. Nothing is working and no support either…

Machine is malfunctioning, but they won't accept support requests on their website, only their app. Their app is stuck at the logo screen forever and won't start So I'm other words they're saying, don't contact us with your problems
App crashes when I click on settings. Every time on iOS latest, latest iPhone. WiFi connection process is a mess. Poorly designed. App needs more work - not intuitive. Privacy policy looks sketchy. Login process not easy. Machine is finicky- need to experiment several times to get it to do right. Ok results. Wait for someone to design a gen 2 machine without the problems of first attempt. At $2k, not worth the money. Just buy from someone who bought and put it in storage.
This app won’t run on iPhone X. I tried deleting the app and reinstalled it. And tried restarting my phone and no way I’m able to access the app. It’s just stuck on launch page. What else would I expect from a 2 star rated app.
The machine is not stable yet have so many issues and if you are under warranty you r saved, if you out of warranty and even if the product design issue they don’t care and need a min of $400 to replace unit. Don’t buy unless you want to make them rich.
It seems like new installs of the app are not working for almost 2-3 months and yet Rotimatic doesn’t care about putting a working version on the AppStore. Rotimatic costs a lot and the app + its support isn’t up to expectation for that cost. Very disappointing.
