I would be ok with paying a one time price for this app but there is no way I am ever going to pay a monthly fee to use an app like this. Also why does a ruler app need to track you other than what you are doing on this app? Please refuse to use apps that insist on tracking you if there is no reason.
Tried to use this on an iPhone 14. Went around in circles trying to use it. Tried to start a free trial. Then asked me agree, then back to step on. Don’t waste your time.
You would think app designers would figure out that you have to figure out how to learn do use the app before switching to a poker game. Took it off my phone within minutes
I wanted a free app. This ‘locked’ my screen and wouldn’t allow me to leave without hitting ‘continue’..at which point I was charged. No clear way to cancel. Going to have to waste time figuring it out.
This app dosent even let you to flip you’re camera and this app dosent even measure the right length if it does measure it will make a big circle and do whatever don’t download this!
Even for tech savvy person, unusable as a simple tape measure. Needed to measure a window for a blind, spend 30 minutes with this app and could not make it work….
I have yet to find one of these virtual tape measure apps that’s even close to accurate. This one is no different. A what is actually 12 inches is measured at over 14 inches. They are all junk.
This is by far the most inaccurate measurement app I've used. It doesn't calculate the distance of what you're measuring correctly at all, or update the focus grid when the camera or objects in front of the camera move, even if you 'reset' it while the dot (or the whole screen) is on the new object you're trying to measure. It doesn't tell you how far you should stand away from the object you're measuring in order for it to get an accurate reading, and the further away it thinks the object is, the tinier the text is. (PS: The text disappears before you can actually read it in most cases. It stores in a History tab if you can get the buttons to work.) But I am certain the a 5-6cm object at most is not in the triple digits in cm--inches were not more accurate--not counting decimals, and the app doesn't make accurate points measuring large or small objects. At least, not that I can see. There aren't measurement lines or points when measuring, just a teardrop looking thing where you end the point. I think parts of my table were 6-or-more digits in cm, but I couldn't read most of the table measurements because they were too small to show on my very tiny iPhone 12 Pro display. So tiny indeed. I honestly thought it stoppes measuring things because I couldn't see anything until I piled up measurement lines in bulk. I don't know what the trick is to using this app, but if it can't tell you how to do it with the pre-made virtual measurements in the oh-so-unhelpful tutorial, I don't see why you think anybody would willingly pay for the app. Probably why they try to take your money while you're pressing through all of the 'continue' buttons which honestly gave me red flags even before it gave me options that were worded in a way that made it seem like if I didn't pay upfront I couldn't continue to use the app. What I did when I pressed 'continue' thinking the app would just ask me to pay later: exited out of the pay screen where it asked me to doubt-tap the lock button to confirm the purchase. Props to everybody who manage to use this thing in their daily life. Please share your mental user manual.
I have had this app since the beginning and initially would have agreed that the measuring is poor when compared to just bringing a tape measure or a laser. I almost chucked my phone down the chute more than a few times at the start. However, once you learn how to pick points and make sure your plane of measurement is correct, it never fails. Take muktiple measurements, too! Remember measure twice (or 3x) and cut once or recheck your calculations a few times. I use it for quick estimates on site and get things done fast and accurate. Go get your tape measure or laser beam and waste a few hours while I can use my phone and get as close a measurement as we need until we set up shop. Do you need to be 10.000 or is about 10 good enough to get started? The other thing is to remember that it is an app and will never be as accurate as a micrometer; if you think that it should be best of luck in your career. Buy good tools for when you need dead-on measurements but use this app when you need to be close and save time/money. Lastly, spend a bit of time initially to learn how it works and save the annoyance of trying to figure it out at the last minute.
I measured a 12” ruler, App says 10.2 inches. I measured a 3 foot yard stick. App says 26.67 inches. I measured a 7 foot door opening. App says 5 foot 3 inches.
