This game is incredibly fun, and is a great way to port Samba de Amigo to mobile since you can’t really do the motion controls. On top of that, the fact there are no motion controls means that the charts can be much more complicated since we have 10 fingers total, and 6 areas to tap. The only real problem with the game is that the tracklist feels somewhat limited. There’s only so many songs, and so playing the same ones over and over will probably get stale. Either consistent updates adding new songs or some sort of song maker would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve been a player since day 1 and I have a few complaints. The only two big issues I have are with the song variety and the online features: 1: Song selection. The original Samba de Amigo had an obviously Latin American sound track, something this game lacks. While it makes sense given the new direction the series is taking, I don’t really enjoy the abundance of popular pop songs. The game could really benefit from some variety in its soundtrack. 2: it is dang near impossible to find someone to do online matches with, probably because there’s almost zero incentive to do so. The only time I encountered a player in an online match was about a week or two ago when the feature first got added, and I just ended up scaring them away because I performed better than they did. My suggestion would be making a ranking based competitive system, similar to the weekly star tournament thing (I’m blanking on the name right now) but where you actually compete against players in real time.
Now I’m not gonna lie the gameplay is incredible, but the song choice is not great at least in my book. I mean I do get that it’s supposed to be a more funky and upbeat game, but imagine having a song like Enter Sandman or Crazy Train in there. I mean you already added You Give Love A Bad Name, so adding a few heavier songs would be a welcome addition for me and others who enjoy the game. So I’m just saying a few heavier songs wouldn’t hurt.
Fantastic game. Incredible music (just not enough of it). And a great story mode. This game is amazing though it does have some problems. For starters, the music list simply doesn’t have enough songs for me to call it replayable. After a few hours it gets plain repetitive how much songs are reused and isn’t very fun after getting all of the achievements. But for what’s there, it’s great! This is my first samba de amigo game and I plan on buying the switch version for more responsive controls, but I had fun with one 4/5 stars.
this game is literally so sigma! its so awesome and erm its so cool and it has songs i like (baka mitai, the vampire, KING, and fist bump) and i honestly wouldnt be surprised if they added Whistle by Flo Rida (please do it would be HILARIOUS) and i like the gameplay its pretty simple. im actually a sweat at this game so consider your game SWEATED ON 🤤🤤🤤 i mean its really good. WE NEED MORE RHYTHM GAMES ON APPLE ARCADE. - Sincerely, (Insert Professional Name Here).
This is fun to play! The switch version is more fun though because you get to actually shake the joycons. I like that this version of Samba has a story mode and has achievements. I wish you could buy apple arcade games but I doubt that will ever happen.
This game is fun its amazing just what i wanted except for the fact is doesnt have as many songs i thought it would so if possible please try and add more songs when possible (please respond fast)
It’s really fun I really like it because it’s really challenging but the thing is Linda what is she she looks like a butterfly I just don’t like how she looks but don’t judge a book by its cover anyways it’s amazing I love it you should play it
Hi SEGA you are my fav! And I am a BIG Sonic fan (Especially Shadow) and I love Samba de Amigo! Except I have a Song request for it. can you do Flames of disaster?? It is my favorite Song! (Thank you for making Series Knuckles in Sonic forces’ power ups by the way) It would really be a help!
Nothing is wrong with these game one of the best games on the App Store and can’t wait to see what else you guys have in stored in the future for these game ones again 10/10 game.
I swear, Sega makes the best mobile editions (like Sonic 1&2, Monkey Ball, and Crazy Taxi) and this is no exception, It’s like a modern take on the original, but it can now fit in your pocket, It’s amazing!
I have been looking for a rhythm game on Apple Arcade but I only found one since this app released I’ve been having fun good mechanics and other stuff good customization I love this app!
Well made game, but it just feels pointless without the maracas. It tells you to do poses and shake the maracas, but really you’re just poking the screen. There’s even a warning at the beginning of the game not to actually do the things it says to do.
Just finished dancing with sonic and I’m happy, but the songs might get old after a while, other than that it’s amazing. Banana suit had me slipping and sliding all day!!!
Another Sega ripoff - bad controls no sense of care in design
Not much to say. Sega WAS a good game company once. They are horrible now, with poor company support of games, such as their failure to support The Cave and The Phantasy Star Collection. Controls in this game are horrific. Don’t expect Sega to do any updates, outside of EA, they are the worst game company around. Apple should wise up and not allow Sega to do anything with them anymore.
This is one of the best rhythm games of all time, it’s just that when you use a item in a song the restart the song the item is gone and it’s a waist of coins.
The game is pretty good although some of the music is trash in my opinion the game is still pretty fun and it reminds me of FNF which is a good thing since I like that game a lot
The story is amazing! And I love the song’s. And the magical, poses, and that’s the one that moves, I also love it. You should play it, and the developer, keep it up!
A fun game with some good songs. The game is pretty forgiving with hitting notes and combos. The achievements are obtainable but require some grinding.
this game is really fun its a rhythm game thats extremely good they made it good every bit just one thing clear conditions are really confusing but i’m in love with the game its so friggin fun everyone who likes rhythm games will like this one
This game would be more fun if it didn't require you to do dumb poses. I would honestly rather play Taiko no Tatsujin. Doesn't have quirky things like Sega made.
A great throwback to the old titles, though a bit rough around the edges when using a controller
This game was a blast to go through from start to near finish - while I do have a few questions about certain songs in the track listing (You don’t have Samba De Janeiro but you have Psy’s DADDY?) I really enjoyed the charts, as ridiculous as they can get at points. The game plays well with touch, but I used a controller with the sticks and buttons for most of my play through. The thing is, this game was designed for touch first and controller second. The story mode map sometimes doesn’t respond to controllers that just connected to your iPhone, meaning you have to tap to navigate, but you can’t start a song with touch, otherwise you’re locked into using it to play the stage. On the plus side, you can fully interact with the charts (including slides and copy actions) with just the buttons and the sticks. But there is one major deal breaker if you’re using a controller in story mode - mission 10-4 cannot be full combo’d if you use buttons. Period. The actions required for that song (upper and lower left circles at once) can’t be rolled as those two spots map to up and down on the D-Pad, and you can’t press those down at the same time on most controllers. It’s a real show stopping issue since I now need to relearn the game using a different control scheme to get by without using an item. QA issues aside, the game is a solid addition to Apple Arcade, and one I would definitely suggest trying out, controller or no!
