The app isn’t feature complete. It still doesn’t have visual voicemails which is present on the Switchvox app and lacks integration with the chat features found on the desktop app. You have to get a whole different app for the chat features. You’ll still have to utilize multiple apps to get a complete experience.
To start, I agree with TheGiaKz: there are systemic issues that need to be resolved before Sangoma Connect can be considered enterprise-ready. However, if you are running a smaller FreePBX system and find that Zulu is inadequate for your users — whether it’s the lack of a device-specific mute or other UI/UX concerns, or a matter of on-boarding difficulty — then you will find some solace with Sangoma Connect. Once Acrobits and Sangoma bring security up to modern standards, I’m hoping it will pick up enough momentum to get resources for features like custom interactive BLFs.
Many of us had to suffer through the indignity of using Switchvox mobile whilst knowing that generic SIP-capable apps (Acrobits, Bria, Wave) work much better. Finally, we have a good replacement, and it’s all because this app is based on Acrobits and even uses their SIPIS servers for SIP registration, finally providing reliable incoming calling. Feature parity with Switchvox mobile isn’t all there yet. Visual voicemail doesn’t work and call recordings currently save to your iPhone under the “Files” app. You must browse your local file system and open the “Sangoma Connect” folder. You cannot change your status (yet), but a future update is supposed to revive this feature. The important this is: calling actually works. When future releases bring back the lost features, this app will get 5 stars.
This app was bad for a long time. So bad that I deleted the app and gave up on it. I had to recently reinstall it as I would be traveling without my laptop and I was pleasantly surprised. A lot of the issues it once had seem to be resolved. I gave a 4 star because It’s still early days in the evaluation, but so far so good.
My biggest complaint is that the calls i get for work show up in my regular phone I’ve mistakenly dialed patient’s phone numbers and had to hang up quickly before patients think their PHI has been given out to people. Please please please fix this. Other than that the app is really simple and easy to use
1- Please make it so calls from this app do not show up under my regular phone app. 2- When a call is rejected while the phone is unlocked, the call should be silenced instead of it continuing to say ‘incoming call’. 3- When a call is rejected from the Lock Screen, it shouldn’t pop up 20 secs later and ring again.
Before update you were able to call a number from an email by clicking on it and choosing Call from Sangoma. Now it loads the app but takes you to a blank dial pad.. Please fix!!
Is there anyway we could get an update where we could see if our connects are on their line? This would help ensure we are able to service every customer and increase customer service satisfaction.
For whatever reason I don’t receive incoming calls in the app unless it is open. I don’t receive a notification of a missed call. I can however make and receive calls when it is open on the screen. So it seems to be a background function that is not working properly. I’m on os 16.6.1
This app is amazing. Been using it for more than a year. Great compatibility with iOS. No hickups. Easy to use. Great call quality. Efficient call handling with three-way conference, transfer, dialing etc.
It works well enough, but lately it will only ring if the app is opened. It didn’t use to act this was. I removed and reinstalled the app. Reset the cloud connect agent and resent the invite. I also verified all notifications are enabled. Still works when app is opened and not if it is closed.
I’m using this on my iPad. It works but in iPhone emulation mode and it forces the iPad into portrait orientation. That is a pain as I am using the iPad with a keyboard as a mini-laptop. If they at least made it work in landscape I’d give it another star.
Sangoma Connect is a big improvement in stability over the old Switchvox apps, but it is not feature complete. Still really needs visual voicemail and rapid dials that are synced with the main extension.
This app is completely useless for me. It maybe works 10% of the time which has caused huge issues with my job. I would drop this service in a heartbeat if it were up to me. It’s infuriatingly unreliable.
The app is no good. It doesn’t work much of the time and i can’t afford to keep missing important calls. Star2Star and Sangoma are in my opinion the lowest of the low quality voip services. Wish we knew this before installing. Wasted a lot of time and money on this. Looking forward to getting off this train wreck. Hope others don’t get roped into this like I did.
