Hey, so my last review got taken down or something. No worries, I’m back to tell you about exciting new feature these amazing developers put into this app. Remember when if you’re looking through your kid’s activity and you see something to block and you couldn’t block them from there? You had to remember some sketchy website name and hoped you typed it in correctly after going through a million screens to get there. People they solved it. Kind of. Ok not really. You still can’t block a site from the activity feed because, come on that’s too hard. Now, you can copy the website name to the clipboard. Yeah. That’s it. That’s the only improvement this app got. It’s still a flaming dumpster fire of bad UI and really terrible filters that literally even a 12 year old can bypass. On top of that, they’ve totally broken parent blacklists and whitelists. A trying to change these lists is just an invitation to watch a spinner for 30 seconds and get a timeout error message. Useless. This app is so bad because parents aren’t who they sell to. We’re not Securly’s customers, so they have this app made by the lowest bidder. They sell to your district’s IT dept. If you’re also tired of dealing with this trash app, let your district board know. They’re the only people Securly cares about.

First of all, I can only block stuff on my kids school computer when they’re on my home Wi-Fi network. Anything I blocked does not apply to the schools Wi-Fi which is absolutely infuriating. I have an autistic kid I’m trying to prevent from downloading and playing video games all day at school instead of what he is supposed to be doing. Second of all, I am a blind parent, which means I am a blind user of this app. When I reached out to let them know that their app was at best clunky for a user who interacts with screen readers on their devices, they said, no, it isn’t… So even when I try to use it on my own, I end up needing to ask for help because it’s very inaccessible even though they say it’s fine …

this is the most creepy, disgusting thing i’ve ever seen. this should NOT be used on high schoolers! my parents and I think this is a disgusting controlling app. I have no respect for anyone’s parents who use this. If you’re worried about your child considering suicide, get them a bloody therapist. The audacity of this app is insane, honestly. I’m telling any parent reading this right now, controlling parents lead to sneaky kids. Every friend I have with strict parents are the most sneakiest, daring, rule-breaking people I’ve ever met. Let your child grow up without too many restrictions because that is how they learn. without strict parents I am more successful, smart, and independent than my friends who have helicopter parents. Seriously. Get a life <3

The app sound good. Last year it worked better, but this year it doesn’t block anything on the blocked lists. It’s incredibly difficult to add things to the blocked list—you have to list each website individually and correctly, yet nothing will be blocked. The activity feed still shows use of the exact apps on the blocked list. Now the only thing I can use this for is to shut down my kids school chromebooks when I’m not home. As a single mom who has to work, this makes it so they can’t do homework unless I’m home. Utterly useless and a waste of time. I’ve tried asking for help from support with no response.

The app is fine just to show you a summary of your child’s web browsing and activities, juts the links and names of sites. But! If you want to click/tap on a particular site to open and see the content of the site, if you want to know more about it, the little wheel keeps on spinning as if it’s connecting you to that site but it doesn’t. It gets stuck. So you have to write the site and try and search it yourself.

The app is slow to load and doesn’t work. It’s note useful for what it was designed for. The activity feed either doesn’t load, shows no activity, or shows the wrong times for activity. The app will alert you when one of their defined flagged activities occurs, but you can’t choose or add flagged activities. It appears only one parent can register for an account per child, so both parents aren’t able to make accounts. The only redeeming feature is maybe the “pause internet” option, but that didn’t seem to work the one time I tried it.

Super cool app that my kid’s school recommended! I’m able to see all their activity during school and when at home. More importantly there’s a flagged section for when my kid is doing things in the internet related to suicide or depression. It’s a really nice safety net to have so I can step in.

So I use this app to track what my kids are doing. I want to block some sites but it won’t let me. It says the request timed out. Also, one time, I was trying to see what my child is doing but it showed thar my child did nothing. But it got fixed. It takes a long time to load. Edit: nothing has changed really. I like the new features, but I can’t add any sites to rhe blocked sites

my whole entire school district decided to give this app to parents to monitor their children. honestly unless you are genuinely concerned that your child is doing something illegal you should not be downloading something like this. it’s an invasion of privacy and it only teaches your children how to be more sneaky. restricting certain social media apps is especially cruel, as that is where most children find joy nowadays. you are a sick sick person if you download this app just to restrict things and see what your child is up to without them knowing. i understand getting the app if you’re worried for the safety of your child, hence them doing something illegal, but other than that there should be no reason to get this app.

Simply put, the Securly Home app is incredibly easy to use, and provides insight that I would otherwise not have. It isn’t packed with gizmos and gadgets that i don’t need which makes the experience fast and thorough. Great job!

Wow, this app is one of the most user unfriendly app I’ve been forced to use. I should not have to go to a separate website to sort through how this app works. Apps parents use should be intuitive and inherently easy to use. Why? I’m already juggling and multitasking a million things. If this is supposed to be helpful then make it so. I’d rather be spending time with my kids than trying to figure this app out.

I love this app. It makes it so easy to look at what my kids are up to, and monitor what they’re doing online. We feel so much more relaxed after we started using this SecurlyHome app. It’s made it really easy.

As a teacher and parent, I could not be more impressed with what Securly has done here. The information I get has allowed me to better converse with my child about their online habits while giving me the control I need.

Love this app! I can easily see what my children are looking at in their school Chrome-books and I can get alerts when they try to go to a site that has been blocked! Great parenting tool!

Needed something to monitor our kids usage and sites they try to go to on their devices and this is it!!! I can now control what they can get to... Thanks!

I love this app. This has become one of my daily night routine to see what my kid’s up to the whole day. Pause button is my favorite. I wish they had blocked sites notifications.

Seemed to work for a week or two but now the app does not seem to refresh. I get a weekly email with activity highlights ( not a complete list) and when I go to the app to check the details, I do not see any activity except where I left off two weeks back. I do not even see what I see in the email. So this is clearly not working.

I think this app is taking privacy away from kids older to like 12-13 I’m 12 and my mom has this app for me just for me and sometimes I forget my mom can see but can you guys give me more pictures because I don’t understand the pictures compared to the app I downloaded to see what it is in my moms account but it’s not there ?

We are in back to school mode, which included some new technology for us this year. Love the Securly home solution. Easy to set and see what our kids are doing.

This has totally changed the conversation we have with our boys! It gives us so much more to discuss, which has been very positive for all of us. Thanks!

I like the emailed updates I get but agree with other reviews that it doesnt easily let you block certain websites. My biggest complaint is that I cant set a bedtime schedule or pause the Internet anymore from my phone. I have to physically take the computer away. I need to find an app that really lets you set limits. It’s not this one!

Are they trying to drive people bonkers?? It’s a nice idea and has seemed easy to use but there’s a notification badge on the icon that CANNOT BE CLEARED for the past few weeks. I’ve been through every single nook and cranny of the app, and deleted/reinstalled it, but it won’t go away.

This app provides a list of sites visited but would be more helpful if time spent on each site were plotted graphically like the screen time feature of iOS.

I love this app. It's so easy to use and let's me see what my kiddos are doing on their school devices. Pausing the internet for dinner and family convos is a game changer! Amazing 🙌🏼

Very easy to understand and use, Sends alerts on a fly of what my kid is doing at home, love it !

A useless app. Even when it did work, links that my child used were unclickable, saying things like “access denied” or “forbidden”. Now I cannot pause her “downtime”, so she cannot even complete homework at home because it’s stick unconnected to the internet.

I kinda like it but for kids with ADHD it’s SO FLIPPING HARD to get off the device. I would recommend this app but wish it was lil bit better

My children’s account are not showing any history. They have been trying to fix this since the beginning of the school year 2023, still nothing has been done.

My kids school uses this app, it doesn’t block anything kids have ways around it. When you try and change something in the app it times out and crashes.

So cool seeing my kids online activity. Very helpful as a parent.

Please fix the app. It has not been working for a week and this is important to parent like me who use this to check my children’s activities.

I can't figure out why the sites I add to the block list don't seem to be blocked.

Would be nice if the app actually updated and displayed data from my children’s network activity. It worked once at the time of set-up, then nothing.

I use this app to do a check for what sites the kids have hit each week or worked on through virtual school. I am especially interested in what they watch on YouTube. I love how I can do a quick glance through the Securly app without having to switch to view the YouTube app; there is a quick glance view of the video within the Securly app!

I liked this app at first but now it doesn’t work. “Won’t connect with server” have tried deleting and reinstalling the app with no luck. I am over it until it is fixed!

Sends password reset that fails completely on iPhone. Not ready for prime time.

Specifically, I have repeatedly tried to block access to YouTube, yet the app consistently returns an error message stating that "something went wrong." This persistent issue severely undermines the app's functionality and reliability. Moreover, the app's overall performance leaves much to be desired. It does not provide the level of security and control that is expected from a product of its nature. As a result, I am unable to confidently rely on this app to safeguard my family's online activities. I kindly request that you look into these issues as a matter of urgency and provide a solution that ensures the app performs as advertised. I believe that addressing these concerns will not only improve the app's functionality but also restore user confidence in your product. Thank you for your attention to this matter. This COULD be a great product, but after nothing but problems with random YouTube blocks (Pokémon game reviews, BTS music videos, etc) it was a constant “mom/dad... it stopped working AGAIN”. Monitoring the network was great, every time a new device logged on, I got a notice. We got this device to keep tabs on time online and shut down access at a certain time. Not an option with this device. I really wanted to like this product. The price is great, the device and app are super easy to use but when YouTube is specifically unblocked but 3 of every 4 safe videos are still blocked and lead to complaining kids, I have to go a different route.

Need a shopping filter. My daughter is shopping at school when she should be studying. Make a filter that they can't do anything except schoolwork. Is that not the purpose of the Chromebook initiative? My kid is surfing Facebook and YouTube at school. Both sites are blocked on the app. I think you need to update your app. Circle is able to filter traffic much better at home. In response to the developer response: I don't need help using your app. It is very simple. I am just letting you know that it doesn't work. 1 star stands for your broke app. My high schooler defeated your app.
