This app wants to be great but is a great example of how banks just struggle to build apps people can easily use. Let me cite a few issues. Most recently, I had extra funds in the account. Took what seemed 800 emails to customer support (nice people and reasonably responsive to be fair), to figure out I couldn't exercise some options because shareworks wanted more cash to cover taxes. I'm sorry but that's not up to them to pay my taxes and when they extracted the extra thousands. I digress. The issue is that I could not easily exercise over that issue and the app doesn't tell you that's the issue. Can't pull cash out that's extra money because the app has decided I don't have an account linked. Well guys, if that's the case, how did I exercise stock recently? Hmm. Add account workflow breaks again, saying you already have an account. Infuriating. This app has a long way to go. I mean, a really long way to go.
This app is supposed to be for Morgan Stanley Stock Plan Administrators. Could not log in with same credentials as web site so I called. After spending nearly 2 hours on the phone with Morgan Stanley and getting bounced from one department to another and back to the same guy (Roger) in the original department, Level 2 support tells him “we do not support the Shareworks mobile app on the iPhone.”. Why the heck is it on the Apple App Store then? I asked that question and they gave me yet another number to call. Very frustrating!
Terrible app. Terrible company. The most unreliable trading platform in the market. They will cost you thousands as you watch the market move and find yourself totally unable to log into the system. When you do log in you get endless error messages. Don’t bother calling customer service at those times, they can’t login either and can’t note that you even called in. When you try to ask them to make things right, they will just claim that they have no evidence that you did anything, which of course is true because their system totally crashes and doesn’t record any attempts to login or transact. Some commands like Back or Change are way in the corners and don’t respond easily. Have to click on it several times. Then when I hit Done on the keyboard to hide it, it kicks me out and have to login again. Needs improvements!
Not properly integrated with iOS QuickType bar making password management difficult
This app is overall ok despite being difficult to navigate. The most frustrating is the poor security integration on the iOS app. I cannot automatically get my password management application to identify Shareworks which adds more friction to the login process.
When I am trying to login the app it shows a message that I need to login using the browser and complete “some” steps. It doesn’t tell me what needs to be done to enable this access again. So now I am stuck trying to decipher what to do on the web app, but there is nothing I do there that unlocks the step for me to log back in using the mobile app. Bad user experience.
Worked well on my iPhone XS. On my new phone it doesn’t recognize Face ID as available (it’s offering Touch ID…). It’s not respecting the screen “safe area” so buttons are pushed all the way to the edge of the screen where they’re difficult to press.
The app wanted me to call in to support to enable Face ID which seems weird. When I did they tried upselling their money management plans. Once I got through the security checks I was able to enable Face ID but every time I kill the app and relaunch there is a Face ID error alert that shows up. Please fix this and allow folks to self serve via the app vs. calling into support to upsell.
Bugged, shows little info about activity, not ready for iPhone with notch camera
Bugged, shows little info about activity, not ready for iPhone with notch camera. Sometimes unresponsive. Need to click several times on an option at bottom of screen to get results. Overall screen layout not ready for iPhone X, XS, 11, 11S and 12. Does not show dividend activity.
This app is terrible to use. There are a lot of issues with the UI, one of the biggest being that pages which require a numpad have no way of exited out of the keyboard once you finish type. This blocks the submit button so you’re essentially stuck on a page.
You app UI is larger that the iPhone screen and has been for over a year. The home swipe icon covers the bottom menu bar. How have you guys not addressed this yet?! What a terrible experience and missing many key features. How have you not enabled users to transfer funds in from external accounts and give you their money?! So many misses.
Logging in in order to gauge whether to exercise Stock Options or not is thoroughly onerous. FaceID never works, but did a few years ago since the acquisition by ETrade. Must pull out credentials in order to assess the state of portfolio. I am tempted to transfer actual stock holdings to Ameriprise to at least afford myself some agility on that non-Option front.
I’m surprised that one of the most basic operations of depositing money to the account is missing from the app or is not intuitive to the user. Have to keep logging on to the website to do this. Hope this gets added to the app soon.
After the latest update, I’m not able sell via the app. When I reported it to customer service, I got no response for 8 days (they claim to have a 24 hr response time). I had to send a follow up email and finally they responded that I should use the website or call them (the last time I called I was on hold for a very long time). It shouldn’t be this hard to initiate a trade.
It’s a simple app, which is nice that you won’t get so overwhelmed with options, but there’s no feature to see how much your investments have grown or lost since you first got them, which seems a bit weird for an investment/shareholder app to not have.
Did not honor FIFO, incurred over $1k in incorrect taxes
Software did not honor FIFO on a company equity share sell incurring over $1000 in taxes I should not have been liable for. Calling in was given a guarantee of 24 hour response on a ticket and had to call back 2 weeks later for a response. So, they will steal your money, open a ticket, blame you, and then not respond.
The app show needed information, but the information showing larger text over lapping each other, that shows the app was build on customer demand but not intended to serve.. this can be show the customers service level is very low
Would not recommend this platform unless you have literally no other options available (as can be the case with some company agreements). Crashes frequently such that you can’t login or create/access/modify orders. Steer clear of this if at all possible!
I’d like to be able to see a rolling count for black out dates and most importantly, the ability to see all contributions. Also, it would be nice to see net losses/gains at each contribution level, and be able to select the contribution tier as a whole to fully capitalize on my investment.
Transaction page doesn’t show anything, password fields don’t show the “dots” to see that you’re entered characters and a few other oddities. All seem to be related to dark mode. Dark mode isn’t new so apparently it has not been a priority for the developers. Not sure why as dark mode is so popular. Other than what I mentioned it’s a nice, simple and clean interface. Can you make it work with Face ID?
It’s useless for boosting my already-overinflated ego. Seriously though, it mostly just shows upcoming disbursements, which isn’t that useful to warrant having an app.
Not sure why I’m unable to sign in, change my password or view my account in general. Only thing I was able to successfully accomplish is delete the app.
One of the worst experiences. The support docs reference features that aren’t available in the UI. Customer support is non-existent. I bet they don’t even check these reviews
The flow between the screens is not obvious but more than anything the app is missing a key information graph: the evolution overtime of your investments. Any financial app gives that info in a simple line graph, why not Shareworks???
Use Shareworks and stay connected to your equity plan, wherever you go. View your portfolio, upcoming events and complete transaction history. Sell or transfer shares and exercise options. You'll need a Shareworks account to use the app. WATCH IT GROW: • Manage and forecast your portfolio • Track important events, both past and future • View employee stock purchase plan holdings TRANSACT: • Sell or transfer shares • Exercise options • Take action when restricted stock awards vest • View your transaction history SAFE AND SECURE: • Sign in securely via Face ID or Touch ID • All communication is encrypted • No financial data is stored on the device
