Got a salmon avocado sandwich curbside for my daughter. Service was very good. I was a bit surprised at the price of $17, but I suppose it’s due to overall rising food prices (especially salmon). But she said the sandwich itself was just “ok” and a bit “disappointing.” It’s her favorite from SD which she’s gotten many times in the past, so I was surprised. Could have been they use avocado slices/chunks instead of guacamole? At that price, it was disappointing since I’d gotten it for her as a treat. Probably won’t order again. It was the main reason we go there. As well. Too bad.
I live not far from their Tysons location but wasn’t feel well enough to dine in. So, I ordered delivery… smh I wholly regret it. I order two breakfast entrees, both requiring ya know butter and syrup. Smh Neither was in my delivery. In fact, the French toast supposed to not only come with syrup and butter but caramel. Did I receive that? NOPE! Now, I have to go out to purchase syrup and butter, which defeats the purpose of paying all those fees and tips for delivery. Plus their app doesn’t even let you order additional condiments. The app also doesn’t let you edit the tip. It defaults to 10% which is entirely too low for delivery workers. I don’t carry cash so I couldn’t even compensate the driver on the backend. The food is good at the Tysons location if you are dining in. Don’t bother with the delivery function at all!
Way too tedious to fill out basic profile info name address phone number. So many apps now can auto populate these fields from info in phone or from address around the US there’s no excuse not to use these time and frustrating saving features. That said bathe meal ordering process is excellent as is the food here!!!
I have used the app twice in two days and he gave the error message trouble with the contents of your order please call the store. I called the store and everything that I placed in the app to order they actually had in stock there was nothing that they did not have. No matter what I put in the app it gives me a problem same problem with contents of order and I have to call in. Please fix this app thank you
When placing a mobile order, we often order the grilled cheese deluxe with bacon…we sometimes get the bacon and usually don’t get the cranberry orange ginger sauce unless we don’t add anything to the sandwich. The bacon costs more and the sauce is the reason we order it. Disappointing.
Not only has the food in Columbia been excellent on many occasions, but our server Juan was an absolute delight! Nikki, the manager, was also extremely warm and friendly…an all around delightful experience! CB
Please revise this app to allow customers to indicate if there is a food allergy. Every time we place an order through the app, we have to call the restaurant, and much d feats the purpose of having an app. I’ve made this request before. If you’re not sure of what I’m suggesting, check out the First Watch app.
Always the best delivery and consistent high quality, great tasting food from the Woodmore location. We’ve also eaten at that location, and the service was great.
*UPDATE: My rewards aren’t working in the app! I keep getting “Error Validating Basket.” Please add the ability to customize orders, like adding onions and peppers to eggs, and other small changes like asking for honey mustard AND barbecue sauces. Thanks.
I love Silver Diner but this app is primitive. For example there is no place to add notes. I am gluten free- did not see any place to note that. I hate onions on salad- not given a chance to ask for no onions. This lack of flexibility will negatively impact my use of this app. Also- the complete menu not available on the app
Order pickup is fine but delivery is consistently much later (as much as a hour) than requested delivery time. And tracking doesn’t work. Likely a DoorDash problem, but Silver Diner uses DoorDash so that makes it their problem too. Order delivery only if you don’t care when it arrives.
I can’t update my password on this App and it shows I earned a 30% discount that expires today but when trying to apply it I am not able to use it. You are not able to add salt, pepper, onions, etc. so it’s an ok app but needs improvements!
Despite sharing feedback, the app team doesn’t see the need to address the problem with the app not allowing to use your rewards. It keeps saying cannot validate the basket! Makes you wonder what the point of being a reward member is.
The details about food choices and overall functioning was great with one glitch - after entering my phone # at end of ordering nothing further happened. I could not complete the order so I called the restaurant & placed my order. Folks were great & thorough at restaurant too.
The app always throws an error and never seem to work. It will just randomly sign me out and never work when needed. Very frustrating to have to struggle through it.
Omgg this is all I eat from silver diner. My boyfriend and I loveee it. Very flavorful, I substitute the asparagus for the garlic spinach please don’t miss out.

I had the same registration issue. I ended up going to their web site and completing my registration there. Not intuitive but it does get me into the app. It does NOT have Wallet integration like the description page says. You also cannot erase non-required data like address. If you use white space (like a space), it will retain your current entry. I ended up putting a single character as my street address. When I viewed the menu, it shows the menu page and then disappears. This is one of the worst apps I've ever seen. Hopefully they will improve it since I hate having to carry their card.
Second time ordering the liver and both times it was very under seasoned. Just basic salt and it would have been close to what I get at the Fairfax location near work. Also the onions were not the thin caramelized onions that is the star of this dish. Big piece of onions were just BLAH. Buffalo wings had no kick. Almost like the sauce was just thrown on. A few minutes under the broiler to help the sauce stick would have helped. My order should have been ready in 15 minutes and it took over 40 minutes to come out. I may have to take the drive from Waldorf to Fairfax to have my expectations met.
App won’t let me reorder my last order. When I select “Order this again”, there’s a message saying “Please make a selection for ‘Meat’” but then immediately returns to the previous screen. So the only way to order is to start from scratch. As another reviewer indicated, there is a frequent occurrence of missing items in my order. They’re always happy to correct the order and give me a voucher for next time but it’s frustrating and lengthens the time between orders.
After I placed an order, the app did not lead me to the DoorDash app like it normally does. I called the restaurant who said the food has been sitting for 30 minutes, is cold, and the delivery guy just arrived. She said she would remake the food and it will be late. The app has no phone number to call to request status and my order does not appear in DoorDash because there was a problem with transferring the order to that app. So the food was delivered one hour late.
By the end of the 2nd week of staying at home, I was desperate for a turkey burger. The app makes it so easy to order and do substitutions (like making it a turkey burger). I miss the awesome wait staff and I’m happy to do what I can to support them during this awful nightmare.
I love the food but what happened to the nutritional information? (Not on the website either - I could have sworn that previously they had it posted.) The app works fine!
Can’t complete order because of missing required option
Trying to order a burger, the app says I must enter how I want my burger cooked but the screen menu does not provide a way to specify this information. This is new, I was never asked for this information in the past. (I could never specify how I wanted it cooked even before, what’s new is the requirement to provide the information without adding a way to do it)
My order was incomplete though the ticket charged all of the original order. Moreover, the food was cold! And the fries were like cardboard. The cake was turned sideways in the bag and therefore resembled trash. All-in-all extremely disappointing!
The app is not intuitive. Trying to place an order for delivery, I got an error that I hadn’t entered my address despite not having any fields to enter an address. I had to select “delivery” again to get an address window. And I had to enter the address twice because it didn’t save the first time. Ordering food using this app was not a pleasant experience.
App is fine, easy to use but beware-you can’t get credit for visits. This makes it useless for earning Silver Diner Rewards or giving credit to schools for your purchase. You have to order in person or on the phone to get credits which makes the app pretty useless for mobile ordering.
The app is user friendly. The food is delicious and we are all excited to have the opportunity to support one of our local diners. The quality of the ingredients is great.
Have used it several times in the past but can not process order since the last update. I ended up having to call which turns out does NOT allow for pre-order for pick-up only immediate pick-up. I found the app excellent in the past with the little caveat that I wish you could use more than one eatwell card in one order.
I have a Silver Diner card. I can't register with an existing card (asks me to sign in and the wants me to register my card, over and over again), and I can register for the mobile-only app because my email is--duh--already in use. Our waitress tried to register me and gave up in frustration, and I've tried multiple ways. Not a good way to support your long time, loyal customers!
I understand that the menu will not be exact. But you should have a box where you can input specific instruction in what changes we would like in the order. This is extremely restrictive. Good start though - I rather call to make sure my order is right.
In your new and improved app, don’t ask for so much personal information. My address is none of your business, nor is the year of my birth. Obviously, “you people“ who created this worthless app or not monitoring the reviews, because you’ve made zero improvements. Perhaps the Silver diner people need to remove you “app people“ from their menu.
Well after at least 5 visits I finally have a credit for one visit today. Not sure if they updated things or if the servers before were just not using my Checkin number. Great food, clean restaurant, just bad app. Hopefully they will work on making this app better.
Great idea, horrible execution. My wife and I have used cards here for over a year. The app won't let us register our existing cards because our "e-mail is already in use". We can't register our email without a card number. We can't enter card number without a brand new email...
I have made more then 60 visits but when you go as one person waiters don’t really pay any attention on you . Just through food on your table and give you a bill even you don’t finish food yet . Poorest customer service , portion of food is less and prices are really high. Good bye silver dinner . App deleted.
Doesn’t retain salad selection and won’t let me add item with out it. Forces me to choose 3 sides though I only want 2 (best to allow multiple quantities of sides). Very poor. Pretty much unuseable!
I downloaded the app and tried to register my card, but it told me my email was already registered. So I went to account recovery and tried to look up my account info and it said my email was unregistered. This app might work out for you, but it is completely useless to me.
App does not work on my iPhone. After you go through the trouble of ordering, entering credit card info, you then get to a screen to enter phone number. But can’t get past that screen to choose continue because the keyboard does not close.
