App has one annoying quirk
For me, the app has one annoying thing that makes me have to rate it lower. When I switch equalizer modes, there is the annoying voice telling me what mode I just tapped on even though I know what I tapped. When this happens, I lose the tone I was listening to and miss the change to the other mode. I can’t tell which sounds best because there is that annoying voice talking over the sound change. By the time she shuts up, I can’t tell what mode sounds better because I’ve lost the baseline. Other than that, the app is fine. I like the personalized sound it set for me after testing, and love the headphones.

Works Better than Indicated
With the new Sesh ANC, I have not had the vast majority of problems described by other users in their reviews of this app paired with other headphones. Given the complex nature of the earphone two button press-and-hold command sequence, it’s a good idea to have the EQ selection offloaded to a visual interface; changing the noise cancellation mode is easier this way as well, although having the ability to adjust ANC with the physical earphone buttons remains useful on a daily basis. It would be an improvement if the headphones themselves would remember the ANC setting rather than having to choose every time they are removed from the case and it’s my hope that this can be included in a firmware update. The only major problem that I’ve had with this app is that if it is not force-closed from the iOS background app selection, the right earphone will cut out frequently; this issue will persist through re-syncing and resetting the earphones according to the manual’s instructions. I was almost ready to return these new earphones to the store before realizing that there is no connectivity issue with audio played from the iPhone to the earphones when the Skullcandy app is not running and not connected to the Sesh ANC. The app can be used to change settings, but must be force-closed when finished or the aforementioned connection issue will occur repeatedly throughout my regular use.

Would be better if it had a purpose other than taking up space.
Works okay with Indy ANC, mostly pointless though. I've written to Skullcandy suggesting that the headphone controls should be user configureable through the app, got a boiler plate non-response describing the "features" that are provided by the software. Would it really be that difficult to let us select which functions we want? Not asking to add new controls, just to toggle existing stuff off and on. I'd like to turn off everything but pause and volume, no track controls are needed for my use and for the love of Pete NO siri or voice control! It tries to open Siri even though "she's" intentionally disabled on my phone and then proceeds to audibly notify me that voice control/dialing or siri is disabled- Yeah, 'cause I turned it off but thanks, goofy robot voice. We should also have a switch to shut the voice prompts off. Apple needs to address the siri/vc issue as well, all headphones attempt to open that talking abomination. 250 megabyte program to deliver 3 preset EQ profiles, ANC/pass-though switch and firmware checks that'll probably never see an update is the best you can do with this? Bloated nonsense. I don't get it.

APP, SUPORT, FUNCTIONALITY, ISSUES
The app does not have clear instructions for connecting your product it shows that my product is in the window and then it says it’s not connected and it is connected I’m actually leaving this review using the product microphone. Their support page through the app does not function correctly it connects to a web link that is a blank page mobile page and desktop page both show as blank. volume power and technical buttons should be on opposite sides on the headphones. Button sizes are so similar it’s very easy to make mistakes. Noise cancellation feature does not work well I can hear my TV when it’s at volume number six which is not very loud. I’ve gotten maximum wife of five hours while using them connected to my cell phone. The charging cord is an inch and a half long way too short it makes you think the engineers that designed this did not think about the consumer at all. The microphone works pretty well that’s about the only compliment I can give these headphones. The functions as stated on the box suit my needs but the product doesn’t deliver them very well! Definitely think twice before purchasing!

crusher anc won't connect for years
I've had these headphones for years and they work perfectly and sound great. I can't recommend them enough for occasional use and listening to music.. But this app on the other hand i do not recommend at all. It has never worked for me even though I've had the headphones that should connect. I've tried every remedy online that people have suggested aaaand nothing has worked. I also should not have to try every remedy in order just to get them to connect to the APP but here i am. Hope it all works for everyone else but from the looks of it.. I'm not the only one. Update: after complaining.. I finally get it to work but the only real thing you can do with the app is have the manual with you and adjust your volume and that's about it. Everything is still just on the headphones with the physical buttons.. Which is nice but it would be nice to have all the settings you have to adjust physically ALSO adjustable on your phone.

200 dollar headphones garbage. Do not buy Skullcandy products
App on iPad does not have a way to connect to Skullcandy crusher evo wireless. Only lists other products for connecting when they state on website hat this model uses the app. The entire design and reason to spend the extra money was the equalizer. But can’t access it. They have no way to access it on pc, which is ridiculous for any company in this day and age. I tried to download the app on my phone, to see if it was any different, but it won’t let me, because it says it is not compatible with my phone. Only app in the play store that is not. Scummy company charging like they are selling Bose products and it is bottom of the barrel when it comes to product support. Why even try. I hope they go out of business for taking advantage of a disabled person. Will be going on the better business bureau and filing a formal complaint. I always thought the name was all hype and I suspected they sell garbage. Nice headphones, but expensive worthless and inaccessible features.

Removed features on devices
The whole reason I got this app was for two reasons, first being the update for my Indy ancs to not sound like garbage (which is kind of odd for a pair of headphones over $100.) The second was that there used to be adjustable eq, which is not a feature anymore. I used to love skullcandy, swearing by them to everyone I know. Now, they took time and effort to remove features from the app and devices for seemingly no reason. This is very upsetting, as someone who loves the fact skullcandy is a great budget brand for bassheads looking for good headphones. A customizable equalizer is very important to me, even the rudimentary 3 point eq they used to feature was far better than none at all. They still offer the eq based on your specific hearing (which works great) but I would still love to be able to customize my experience based on what I’m feeling/listening to.

MOD Earbuds
I love my MOD ear buds. They Lin to my tile app and aver device I have they will even in to my laptop and my phone at the same time. They have great sound I have even dropped the in small amounts f water on the floor and they still wrk ad sound great. I want to test them in the poo while swimming laps, but I like them to much to take a chance of ruining them in the poo water. I listen to mine all day non stop, the battery last for days and more than just a few days on one charge and one are usually a the way up. The rounding awareness is a great feature for when I’m working around others but still want to jam out. The only thing that could make these better is to know if I can swim in them since their water and sweat resistant.

So this is not really about the app but, it is about the wireless headphones
So I use my sisters headphones because I lost mine in at the movies and they bad sometimes like they fall out and at first I thought they were falling out because I had not had them in the right way so I moved them and they still felt like they were going to fall out and sometimes I have the volume all the way up and it is really quiet and one little problem with the case when I close it id hella loud and I can’t be having that when my sister is on the bed under my and and at night she well wake up to me moving and the loud case is not helping that, but over all most of the time the headphones are really good (sorry that it is so long)

just a few connectivity issues but it's a good pair of earbuds
The earbuds are pretty nice and comfortable. I like to listen to my music with these, but sometimes it's difficult because the earbuds have huge connection issues. They will turn off the second i turn them on, despite me charging them overnight. I've had to forget the device multiple times and pair it again, just so i could use them for a short amount of time due to their short battery life. I've never had this problem with any other pair of earbuds. In anyway, this means the app won't work good either. So no music for me most of the time now. Anyways, I hope this review didn't come off as rude, these are some nice earbuds. hopefully the connection problems can be fixed soon.

Never Worked
Within the span of a year I’ve bought 2 Skullcandy Products that are in the compatibility list for this app and neither of them worked. They had 10 months to fix this app between the times I bought 2 different products that SHOULD WORK on this app and they just didn’t work. Even though it’s flashed on the products boxes that they should work on the app. They never did. I tried multiple times. They don’t work. You’re fine just using them manually. All this app has to offer is helping you control your earbuds and headphones in a way you can do with the buttons built into them anyway. I bought the Indy Evo’s and Dime 2’s, both on the list, both get picked up when I try to register them, both also fail to register no matter what I do. Don’t waste your energy with this app. Just keep your manual on you if you don’t remember how to use them very well. You’ll be fine.

Useful, with one annoying feature
I’ve used this app to update firmware of my wireless earbuds, check battery level, customize sound to my personal hearing profile, turn features on/off, and toggle sound profiles. The best part about this app is its usefulness. I get a lot done with it, and I don’t have to figure out how to wave my finger over the earbuds to do tasks manually, like change volume or connect to Bluetooth. The worst part about it is the flashing arrows at the bottom when you first open the app. For a few months, I thought I had to tap on them to make them go away before I could use the app. Now, I just ignore them. Maybe if the app was better organized, you wouldn’t need flashing reminders like that.

This app is useless
I get the feeling that this app was developed because every other headphone company has a app for their headphones. This app falls very short. On the rare occasion that my headphones connect to the app it’s constantly glitchy. My headphone work for every other app on my phone. My Bluetooth shows my headphones are connected. I can listen to music and hear the videos I’m watching. However the app created to pair with my headphones can never connect to them. I’m sure that if this review gets read by the developers they will assume it’s the users fault their product does not work. Even though every other app works with their headphones. Consumers are tired of hasty crap being released just because companies want to keep up with each others image but fail on the execution. It’s embarrassing your app does not work with your own product.

Issues with app connectivity but good features
Every time I connect my Grind earbuds, my phone pops up a notification that “skullcandy would like to communicate with the Skullcandy Inc. Grind”. No matter which choice I pick or how many times I pick it, the message pops up every time, and forcibly takes me to the Skullcandy App if I select “allow”. The choice doesn’t affect the functionality as far as I’ve noticed. I have all permissions enabled. The other problem is one or both of my earbuds will randomly disconnect and power off without warning. I don’t think this is a hardware issue as these problems only started occurring with the last large update to the app. A fix would be appreciated.

Doesn’t Do Much
Honestly, it’s nice to be able to change to ambient mode but I can’t change the EQ Modes through the app. It’s one of the only reasons I got the app was to be able to toggle Ambient Mode and change the EQ Modes. With the Indy Evo, it is literally impossible to change the EQ Modes. It takes too much effort because the amount of controls that rely on a tap and a pause or two taps a pause and holding or some variation. There’s too many controls and not a great way to learn them that I don’t even use them. I only pause and play on my phone cause I’ve accidentally skipped a song or activated Siri or increased the volume instead of pausing. Please add being able to change the EQ Modes through the app. I can’t do it on my earbuds it’s impossible

Just needs a few tweaks to be good
Firstly, the Skully buds I have are great but the app….It literally could be made decent if (constructive criticism here): (a). The tutorial needs to not be a constant that messes with the smoothness of even being able to use the app. It should have been just when you first open the app. Get rid of the tutorial info thing. The app is simple there is no need for that. (b). The music equalizer needs at least a few variations. Listening to hip hop with the same settings as acoustic rock or country just doesn’t sound as good. It does have a custom EQ sliders option. Points for that. If I get smart, I won’t need variations of options for the equalizer. The looks of the app are great.

Its okay….
Well I downloaded the app as soon as I bought my earbuds because I thought it would prove to be useful. It wasn’t. The only good feature to this app is that it reminds you what your earbud shortcuts are and thats fine. However, now the app won’t even open. For three days every time I opened the app, it would only show the loading screen. I wish they had a setup feature because when you open the app without your earbuds paired, it just has the plus saying connect. Finally, there are some features that I don’t even know why they are there. Like the equalizer is confusing and hard to understand. This app is only good for the shortcuts.

Amazing!!!
I have always been a Skullcandy headphone fan, however…these new Push headphones along with the app have made my listening experience far better than any other headphone on the market. I was having problems with the app not meshing with the recent I-Phone updates, but I believe that has been resolved. After going through the app and adjusting the headphones to my hearing, I can say that I am blown away by the difference it made. I am a customer for life. Thank you to all of your team for making such a amazing product!!!

One star for the app was appropriate
Ok. Without any help from anyone I powered off the Indy Evo’s (hold each bud for 6 seconds) and then turned them on (hold each bud 4 seconds) and the app found the ear buds. That had to occur. Shut down the misic that I was listening to already through them while creating the post below and while the the app said “Hey we see your Indy Evo’s but we can’t connect to them. Sorry.” Power them off and power them back on again. The Windows Blue Screen of death where IT says “reboot and let me know how that goes.” That’s vendor programmer error. The app is working for me. Woop. —— Previous post—— This app does not work even if you have an Indy Evo. I have an iPhone 11 running the latest iOS and the app is not working and has not worked since install. And if its a mistake on my part as an IT person with 25+ years experience more than these guys then that’s fine but a million others also are not going to get these to work with this app. It’s a fraud. The Indy Evo’s have been great, the app is a sham.

Never been able to connect to my Crusher Evo headphones
I have never been able to connect to my brand new Crusher Evo headphones to the app, even though they are connected to my iPhone Bluetooth through the regular Bluetooth settings. I’ve researched this issue and Skullcandy’s website states to enable permissions. When I first install the app (I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times), there is a prompt that asks permission to connect via Bluetooth and I click ‘yes/ok.’ But when I click the plus sign in the app, I see Crusher Evo ‘not connected.’ The only other options on that screen are ‘I don’t see my product’ or ‘skip for now.’ I’d love to use the cool app features that are advertised, but this app appears to be incomplete in its current state. Please fix.

Very nice, when it connects
I have an iPhone 11 with the latest software version. Out of the box, the Indy Evo buds paired with my phone, and the app connected without issues. The next day, the earbuds paired fine, the app saw the Evos, but wouldn’t connect. The support desk had me delete the app, reset the ear buds, and reinstall the app. The app connected fine, for a day, then the same issue. I repeated the delete and reset process several times, without luck. The app identifies the earbuds, but can’t connect. The earbuds work great (no bluetooth pairing issues), though the various touch controls can be a challenge. That is where the app would be a huge help, if it was reliable

Awesome earbuds, but the touch controls are horrible
I bought Indy Anc earbuds to sleep in, and fell in love with the sound. Unfortunately the earbud touch controls are needlessly complicated and you cannot turn them off. They keep going into solo mode or skipping songs when my pillow touches them. The app has two cool features, and that’s the ability for the personal sound and the ability to locate them, but other than that the app is basically useless. Why can we switch modes, pause, or turn off the touch controls. Because this app cannot do what I need and I can’t sleep in this earbuds with the current software, I’ll sadly have to return this amazing earbuds.

Good app that helps with your headphones when it stays connected.
My headphones seem to disconnect very often I have a pair of crusher evo headphones. They like to disconnect from the app so often I know that when I want to listen to music everyday I have to go into the app and fiddle with my headphones until they connect, but the personal sound is like adding a pinch of salt to music making the instruments, bass, vocals, and all that just pop a little more. I consider music a part of me so I find it always worth going through the hassle to get the headphones reconnected. Other then that it’s a decent app.

App Works well
I was in the market for a new set of earbuds for running ,so I bought the Dime XT 2s. I came across the app so I did the entire setup at my desk at work. Everything connected and after doing the hearing test, I did have to restart the app for the feature to work but it all works great. I look forward to other Skullcandy products in the future. Being on a budget and getting a good product along with an intuitive app is really cool. Keep it up .

***FOR HEADPHONES NOT THE APP***
The app wouldn’t connect to my headphones it doesn’t work at all, however the headphones are very cheap, good quality, last long, wireless, have flexible uses, good noise suppression, and a lot more. I couldn’t have got a better deal with the Skullcandy headphones. I use the headphones almost everywhere I go to drown out annoying things and use the headphones when I need to chill out. These headphones have changed my life. Thank you for such a great and affordable product.

Have Crusher Wireless, app doesn’t even attempt to connect, selected Crusher ANC and it doesn’t even connect to the app. Still blank. All privacy settings and permissions are good. Still nothing. Absolute garbage. Says online my headphones are compatible. Don’t know what the deal is. Skullcandy used to be good few years ago. Now? It’s quantity over quality. Want good headphones that have good quality and have an app that’s user friendly? Don’t waste your money on a brand that “used to be good” save your money on something reputable and good quality for a bit of the price. Well worth it. At this point consider it as junk. Only bright side is bass control on the device itself.

Push active missing on app list of devices
Just bought the push active earbuds. Was very excited to use. Followed all instructions but it would not connect to the app. The app did show a picture of the push active earbuds but said not connected. Tapping the + went to a blank screen with the + and tapping that reverted back to the screen with the picture of the push active earbuds… still not connected. I did all the troubleshooting on my own and with Skullcandy customer service support. Nothing worked. On a lark, I put a different non Skullcandy Bluetooth device in my ear to see what the app would do. It listed the name of the Bluetooth device and this time when I hit the +, it provided a list of all the supported skullcandy devices. Push active was not on that list. Please check that out for yourselves. Customer support at Skullcandy said they have no way of communicating with the app developers. I found that to be very unfortunate. So I’m writing this review in the hopes that someone will address this issue

Won’t update firmware
Second pair of Indy ANC. First pair was returned under warranty because they stopped charging and was running firmware 0009. Second pair, same model, will not prompt for firmware update and runs 0008. Have uninstalled and reinstalled, unlinked, etc multiple times - never prompts the firmware update which is extremely irritating. Would also like to see an option where it saves the last noise cancelling option so you don’t need to change it every time you use the earpods. I usually turn it off for more battery life - I have to turn it off every time I use them then.

New update issues
After App update shows a loading screen of trying to connect and says no product found try again then it goes back to the normal app screen and shows my unpaired headphones. I tap that and they connect fine but the major issue now is it says it can’t find the supported product when you first load the app extremely annoying and takes now 3 to 4 times the amount of time to adjust the settings because of this. Crusher Evo headphones, and this apps been working, flawlessly with it for years.

It’s working again:
It’s finally working again, but you’ll know more if you read the other review on your other app, the Skullcandy IQ app. A little update: on the app, the skullcandy hands-free voice control will be working even though it is off, plus the Skullcandy Push active still need to be louder without having to be turned up, maybe they could be made louder over a firmware update, somehow.

Not compatible with Comcast/Xfinity
I had a few pairs of Skullcandy Indy. They were great when they worked. They were compatible with my Comcast 4K box. I could watch TV without bothering others. But each pair of Indy ended the same way. One side dropped below 50% volume of the other earbud. Skullcandy Grind is not compatible at all with my same Comcast 4K box. It’s a constant stutter of sound. I can’t use Grind to watch TV at all. All Skullcandy earbuds sounded great playing music on my phone - when they worked. Great sound for the price, but useless if not compatible.

Push Active
Just got an early Christmas gift of the push active earbuds- they are so amazing and this app is incredible! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The UI is super easy to use and so cool! I am so glad I got skull candy headphones instead of apple! They fit in my ear so well and never fall out when I am running or skiing— unlike my old AirPods. Super recommend this product to anyone looking for activewear earbuds and a useful app!

Intermittent connection
Even after pairing, the app itself has a lot of trouble "connecting" to the Indy ANC ear buds. The iPhone finds and connects fine - its just the app. This set has an issue with crackling loud as well. May end up returning. When working, the sound is good. I tried playing music over my stereo to see if it could block it out. Was not able to tell any difference with the noise cancelling enabled. I am hoping I will be able to tell a difference on a plane as that is the reason for the purchase. Hardware seems good quality.

Should be able to put battery widget on homescreen
So i really like skullcandy headphones, i have the “mod” ones and they sound really good. However the only reason i really downloaded this app was to have the widget to see each headphones battery life I do like the equaliser but main thing is battery Which the app calls them widgets, so why isnt there a option to add the widget to the home screen Instead of having to open up the app It is useful, but it would be better if it could just be on my home screen

It won’t open
The app just shows the Logo and that’s it. It won’t load. I’ve tried deleting it and downloading it back on. I even fully turned off my phone and turned it back on again. What’s going on? It’s been like this for weeks now. I thought that maybe the app crashed and they would be updating it to fix a bug but nothing. I’ve seen so many bad reviews on here but I’ve had mine for years and I’ve always like them. But at this point I think I’ll start to look for something else. Especially since without the app I can’t connect my earbuds to my phones Bluetooth. It won’t show up at all.

Good when the app work, otherwise it is a nightmare.
I have deleted and reinstalled the app about 20 times already. My microphone doesn’t work all the time. For some reason, the voice control stop working on its own, even when the option is still active, so if I want to talk with someone, they are not able to hear me. But, when the app work, then they hear me perfectly. Also, the voice control doesn’t work a lot of time. I keep saying: hey skull Andy and doesn’t listen to my commands. Very frustrating. I’m thinking about turning it back to the store. 😔

When I first downloaded the app and connected my earbuds, it was amazing! I loved the in-app features and the easy way to remember the shortcuts for the earbuds. Later I was using them again and wanted to show someone the cool features in the app, but it constantly told me they were not connected even though I was currently listening to music via Bluetooth… this issue still has not been fixed days later and many tries to fix it… now the app is pretty much useless

Doesn’t Connect to Headphones
I like the idea of the app and that it allows me to save different sound profiles. Since I’m hard of hearing in one ear, it compensates for that and helps music sound better/clearer for me. That being said however, after a few days the app refuses to connect to my headphones. The headphones still work wonderfully but the app is garbage. I have to delete and redownload it every week or so to get it to reconnect to allow me to use the sound profiles. It’s very inconvenient.

It’s great when it works
I have had the Skullcandy crusher evos for around 6 months and they are great the is simple to navigate but most of the time the app does not connect to the headphones and it is really frustrating when they don’t connect because I can’t get an accurate battery percentage or change modes. I truly love the headphones and most of Skullcandy’s products but this one little thing should get fixed so we all can have a better experience.

Works Fine For Me
My Crusher Evos connected just fine. I feel like those who are having trouble aren’t doing it right. Turn them off, long press the on/off button so it turns on and goes into pairing mode, when the Tile app finds it you need to press on/off AND the play/pause buttons at the same time. Then it will connect.

Could’ve been more but the choice was clear
Most of the Skullcandy products should’ve never have a microphone to begin with, so that way the apparent flaw with affordable earbuds wouldn’t be performing better in a few ways but worse when it actually count. And as for the App, it is just pointless when the newer one is made to replace this one. It could’ve just take all “non compatible” wireless Skullcandy products and given very limited functionality to make a proper use for this App. It’s a sad reality that could’ve been more than what it is now.

Love the Earbuds but not the app or software
Love the Earbuds but not the app or software, always having issues paring it with the app and the settings are always changing and not saving. I have the SESH ANC MODEL S2TEW and I love them but like I said I been having a lot of issues with the app. Along with other issues, that other users have stated in these reviews. I love the earbuds and I really hope y’all update the app with patches that could fix these bugs please and thank you in advance!

Really went downhill.
There are some cool features, although I believe they could have been implemented better. EQ settings and “personal sound” do not save on the device itself, so it only works while you have it connected to whichever device you have the app on. Not just that but the EQ only has presets, and cannot be adjusted freely. The app is mostly fluff with a couple things that would be useful if they were actually expanded upon. The largest issue however is just that the app is broken, and seems to have been breaking even more lately. Many times it cannot connect to my Bluetooth headphones… while they’re already connected to my phone and playing music. Overall very jank. It’s been like this for awhile, I think Skullcandy gave up lol

Pairing.
I bought the Indy Evo. I’m not sure if pairing is an issue with other models, but I’ve only been able to connect to the app 3 times on 4 months I’ve had them. The app is basic, mostly an user manual for the controls. The sensors on the earbuds seem to be the bottom of the barrel of any and all sensor available today. Much rather have a actual button to press than tapping away and have no idea if you did the correct sequence of taps. Overall, if you’re looking for backups, Skullcandy is okay. I suggest going for the higher end of earbuds for daily uses.
