An old favorite, but too buggy
I loved this game back in ye olden days when it was developed for the PC/Mac. I want to keep loving it, but the version for iPad crashes and freezes WAY too often for it to be fun. Sometimes it freezes and never loads. Sometimes it crashes and quits in the middle of a game. Unfortunately, I paid for the ad-free version. It would be nice to think that the developers would return the favor by debugging what must be relatively simple coding. What a shame. UPDATE: The developers reached out to me, which was nice of them. I haven’t responded because I’ve figured out that this app does NOT like landscape mode. It’s been working fine as long as I keep my iPad upright. It would be nice if it also worked in landscape orientation, but at least now I don’t feel ripped off, and I’ve bumped up my review by 2 stars, to 4 stars.

Not worth my time :(
I hoped it would be just as much fun as the old PC original. The characters are the same and mechanics pretty much are the same and the tapping to shoot is great. But the first few levels are good and that’s it!.. as soon as you ‘unlock easy mode’ it goes from fun to just stupid!... at first you see the laser or whatever show you exactly where the ball will go. A tad easy but still fun. The faces are decent size and game play is entertaining. But then after you have fun with the first 3 levels and get to ‘easy’ there is no laser pointer and the faces are considerably smaller. Making it harder to even guess where you’re pointing. With a PC and mouse arrow even with out the laser pointer it was easier than trying to use my finger on a tiny screen. I read a bad review and figured I’d try it. I also tried another one that is pretty different. Also called snood and it had a great review. Sadly I don’t have anything good to say about that one either. Over all I like this one better but it goes from fun and playable to difficult pretty quick. Maybe if I played an iPad version with a stylus it would be easier.

Exactly as I remember!
Honesty this game translates to mobile amazingly and it feels exactly like it did in my childhood. Aiming takes a bit of getting used to and everything is pretty tiny on my small iPhone SE but I have good eyes so it's not too much of an issue. There are ads but they're far less intrusive than comparable games. Best part is you can play an unlimited amount for free if you're willing to watch ads! The full registration price is too much for a mobile game but honestly that's not enough for me to remove a star since there is a free play option. I love it!

Intentionally Bad
Why is this game so ugly. Not the graphics. Those are classic and take me back to playing the original. I mean the main menu. The interface. The awkwardly delayed sound effects. I get that it looks like an old game but it’s just an eyesore. I’m not going to complain about the fact that the game has payment options. Freemium is just a reality with mobile games. What I don’t understand is how the game goes about it. Having to unlock easy mode? Having to unlock standard features? Sure 10 games is nothing, but it is when I’m not having fun. I’m got bored on game three. It just wasn’t worth it. Knowing there’s a better, more fluid Snood on the App Store with classic graphics as an option makes this whole game look like a collection of poor decisions. It’s as though they tried to create that classic game aesthetic by reminding you how crummy old games used to be. The thing is the old Snood wasn’t crummy. It had charm. It was fun. This game is just intentionally gross design, obnoxious monetization, and a generally confusing mess. Why did you make it like this? Just, why?

I like it, but wanted to love it.
I used to play Snood obsessively on my Mac, and was really sad when it stopped working with a new OS update many years ago. They updated later, but couldn’t find my registration, so I gave it up. So I was really excited to see my old snood back. (The new version never really worked for me.) The good: It’s pretty much the same old snood. The bad: Controls don’t feel as precise somehow. Maybe it’s the size, maybe it’s the lack of a mouse, or maybe it’s that I no longer have tens of thousands of game’s worth of practice, but I’m not making the shots I used to. Also, there is a bit of a hair trigger, with it accidentally firing from time to time. The ugly: The pricing. I can pay $5, and I’ve still got an ad supported game. Wait, aren’t ad supported games usually free? Plus, you’ve not really purchased the game; you still have to get tokens to play. $5 just unlocks some game features. Pay another buck and you can disable ads. But still need tokens. What if you just want to own the game, like I did when I bought it back in the late 90’s for $15? It’s asking for $40. For a port from the 90’s? Seems a little high to me. It was a fun bit of nostalgia. But I quickly ran out of tokens, and it’s just not a $40 game. Worth a download, but the costs are too high.

Paid for app and still seeing ads!
I’ve paid $20 for this game and am still seeing ads. If you lose a game, you get the option to “play on,” or go back several steps and replay the game. This involves watching a loooong, repetitive ad, even in the paid version. The makers have very cleverly placed the shooter on the same spot as the “play on” button, so if you lose and are not careful, you’ll end up hitting “play on” and getting the ad. There’s no way to cancel this. Even if you don’t want to replay the lost game, you HAVE to sit through the ad. This is ridiculous. I paid for an ad-free app. There are bugs as well. When you hit the “change background” button during a game, it sometimes sets off the shooter instead. It seems you can only change the background during a game; you can’t change it permanently for all games. The option in the main menu to change it doesn’t work. Sometimes the shooter sticks, and you end up shooting many snoods at once when you don’t want to. I love that this game is just like the classic one I remember, but please, fix the bugs. Make the background changeable universally. Eliminate the ads for paid apps entirely, or move the “play on” button so that it’s not inadvertently pressed.

A classic, but...
I love this game. My grandparents used to play version 2.2.1W for hours on end, and the SFX bring me back. I understand that I'm a bit behind on the times, but the shoehorning of microtransactions into an arcade-style game from the nineties is an utter disappointment. And $40 for unlimited play? Are you mad? The full version of Snood costed less than fifteen dollars on the PC, a platform on which games actually tended to cost that much! The free version was way less restrictive on there, too. The whole thing seems a bit unfinished, too. Puzzle is planned in a later update, which is fine. The aesthetic is all over the map, being a relic of times gone by being played on a modern screen with high-DPI. You got the classic blocky sprites next to stretched out textures and high-res Arial font. It feels like a flash game at some parts. The interface is not really optimized to be used on a mobile device. The "pow" sound when Snoods are eliminated is kinda off but I think this dates back to version 3. I would like more options, like the ability to disable the power-up Snoods. Obviously this review is a combination of issues and nitpickery. With the price dropped and a couple of things corrected this would be a really solid game.

Paid $20 and still have to pay or watch ads...
Paid the full $20 registration fee and you’re still required to watch ads or buy gold bars to continue a puzzle game if you die. The first two times it happened, sucked it up and let the ad play. On the third time — I think I was on level 41 or so — paying for gold bars was my only option if I didn’t want to go all the way back to level one. Really, really disappointed. Give us a save option or something — at least for those of us who paid to support you — so we don’t have to pay *additional* money to go all the way back to level one.

The original was better
Developers have this need to develop, I get that. But sometimes things are good as they are. People play games like Snood for nostalgia, when you add to it, taking away the simplicity sometimes you ruin what made if work. Make a simpler, cheaper version leave it in basic modes and .99 cents and I bet you will sell more to people who just want to fill time and enjoy a taste of the past. This version is frustrating, cheats, and sets up situations that are not logically fair. There are patterns in all games, play awhile and you’ll see unrealistic patterns created like a casino ensuring the gambler always looses.

old favorite but misfires too much
I used to be completely addicted to Snood on my Mac. When I got the email about the new IOS version, I was excited but also worried that it would turn into another addiction that I don’t have time for. Not to worry because it is just too frustrating to play for more than a few games. It is overly sensitive. It fires when I’m targeting and double-fires all the time. No matter how I try to make tiny light taps, I get stutter fire, sometimes several shots in a row. I was able to hack my way through Easy but with all the misfires there’s no point in going on. I’m disappointed but at least I don’t have to worry about spending hours playing Snood when I should be getting work done!

Faithful recreation, ads are overwhelming
While this is an accurate recreation to best of my recollection, it could use a facelift to modernize the look and feel a bit. The opening screen and game selection screen look terrible. If more than 10 minutes were spent on creating those two screens I would be very surprised. The gameplay is fine, but some higher resolution graphics would be an improvement. The absolute worst part of this game though is the ads. The ads are endless and take forever. Because of this I generally play one game and then quit, moving on to something more productive. I suppose that is a good thing!

Snood!
I love Snood and have loved it since the late '90s. I remember there was only one computer in the house and we had dialup internet and after my father finished all his work online and such, he'd let me play Snood! I still have it on a floppy and backed up on my external hard drive! I definitely recommend this game! It'll bring back the nostalgia with all the sights and sounds! And for new players, it's so fun! I preodered it on here and it just downloaded this morning and I'm already addicted haha.

Near-perfect copy of classic; Price dropped
As of Dec. 2018 the “unlimited” version is reduced to $20. Still high for an iOS game. Also disappointing is that you get no powerups (stones, row builders, wilds) without purchasing gold bars. However, I paid in order to support the developers and stop the ads. I’ll give up the powerups in order to play this great game for a more reasonable price. Minor requests — I’d like to choose a default background. Most of them don’t seem to give enough contrast with the snoods. And I’d like to be able to select a game by number.

Mesmerizing
Seeing the same screens time after time as you work through the game can get a bit boring after the 100th time. But give it a break for a few weeks and when you come back it is fun again. Only downside is even when you use every snood properly you can still lose because you do not get a key snood.

Such a throw-back
I definitely remember being obsessed with this game when I was a kid. I forgot about it until I randomly came across this app while strolling through the games. I like how this app is pretty much exactly like the computer game. The controls are a bit harder on a phone than the computer though. It takes some getting used to the smaller screen and controlling the shooter, but it’s not bad once you get some practice. I have definitely rediscovered an old addiction!

Love the app but….
I purchased snood for my computer way back when and loved it. Along the years of changing computers and getting iPhones to play with I lost my original snood. Sure wish it was still in the computer. I liked that version better because there were different boards to play instead of just the one on the app.

I have loved this game for 20 years...
... used to play it on my PC for hours, then wandered off and lost track of it. Thrilled to run into it on the app store! It's got the occasional weird piece that does some bonus action, but otherwise it's the same Snood I've always loved--manic faces, eye-bleeding backgrounds, and little death skills when you lose. So much fun and nostalgia!

Just stole all my coins
I loved this game on my old computer, and have gotten back into it in the last month. I loved it enough I paid to remove ads and get a large number of coins. After the update today there’s some glitch where if you try to play it just rapidly removes all your coins from your account. I had like 500 coins that I PAID FOR and now they’re all gone. Tried watching an ad to get more and the same glitch happened, they just all disappeared. I hope they fix this and give me back the coins I lost.

Too many issues
The game is not responsive. I played snood for years and loved the game. The screen is small and you cannot enlarge it. The firing thing to shoot the snoods out is slow and not responsive. Sometime you shout them and they kind of hang and then finally go to where they are supposed to be Using the wall doesn’t always work. A lot of time you cannot move the shorter enough to get it where you want it. Looks like it is going to go to the wall but doesn’t The preview game works great. Make the game work like the first two practice levels. Practice levels work fine it is all the other levels with the issue

A buggy but faithful re-creation of the classic.
Unlike others, I don’t mind the way that’s nude has integrated pay opportunities into an old shareware game. They have been made unobtrusive enough to enjoy playing the classic game, which looks and plays just like it did back then! The only problem I have on an updated phone running the latest iOS, is that it constantly and randomly crashes which renders it unplayable on the long term. Fix the performance, and you might get some micro transactions out of me.

Snood
Snood is a really fun game where you try to get a snood to the same type of snood. But you cannot have two of the same type of snood for it to fall. There is a wall that comes down after you put a certain number of snoods on your phone. After a while you unlock more levels. You should definitely try Snood.

Pay to play!
Yup. Snood developers make it pay to play. I'm out of tokens and the only way to move forward is to buy more. But why not just spend 40 bucks on an iPhone game? That makes sense to me. I'm very familiar with microtransactions in this modern age but the game didn't even cost that much back in the day. Please explain to me the thought process or strategy to this, and not with the cookie cutter response given to other negative reviews. I can buy multiple other games for how much this costs. I love Snood and appreciate it being available for my phone but not at any of the available prices.

Great game, paywall is expensive
Love snood. I remember playing it as a kid on my dads work computer. This apps visuals and sounds are extremely nostalgic. Works well on a phone. The payment system is kind of annoying unfortunately. Six bucks to get rid of ads and get 800 game tokens. That is a ton of games but to have infinite you need to pay $20 I believe. It’s a bit strange to me.

A LONG HISTORY
I worked as a typesetter prior to 1990. On lunch break we would play Snood. That was my introduction to it. I find it very relaxing and a bit challenging as you have to keep an eye on the next icon that is waiting in the gun in order to plan a strategy for clearing the screen with the fewest number of shots.

Lacking precision
I used to pop some pretty good shots when I was 16, but I’m dying even on the Easy levels and I suspect it has to do with switching from desktop to mobile. I find it much less friendly on a small touch device. The bit that “shoots” the snoods our into the play area seems poorly calibrated and doesn’t seem to move proportionally to the gesture being made. I think it has potential but it’s not fun to play as-is.

Disappointed
Instead of developing games that are actually difficult, the developers incorporated misfires, significant glitches, and delays in movement which prevent you from being able complete the game successfully . I don’t understand how the functionality and user interface can be acceptable for the easier rounds and somehow get worse as the levels get harder. The app does not do the original PC version any justice.

Waste of money
I grew up playing this game on my PC & loved it! I decided to give in and pay $9.99 for the full game through this app. Once I reached a certain level, I was out of gold and needed more to play. My only options were to watch an ad to get more, or I could: pay for more gold OR pay to remove ads. As someone who purchased the game, this is ridiculous. The whole point of paying for a game is to receive the full game with no ads. Don’t waste your money. Will be requesting a refund.

Love Snood (Original), but hate the Ads and Microtransactions.
I am enjoying the Game, but the Rare Magic Snoods should be available when I paid for the Gold Registration and I just can’t paid for Gold Bars to access them. I also can’t stand the Ads when getting rewards. Wish there was a way to add the Rare Snoods without paying for Microtransactions to access it. I may get the Mac / PC versions like Snood Plus or Original Snood. Love the game, but please stop it with the Microtransactions.
