I am 72 years old, so I have known many banks over all these years. In fact, I started working at Lincoln National Bank in Fort Wayne and left Wells Fargo 10 years later. I know banks, bankers, and all the processors who make the “front room” look easy. With all this knowledge and experience, I can honestly say that I have never been happier with a bank and the tellers and others I see at the downtown Fort Wayne office. I should have known this when the CSR who opened my first account at Star was named Karma. Every time I go in the bank, I feel genuinely welcomed. I cannot express how much better this is than any other bank I’ve known. Even the ATM with access to a real person if necessary is great. Thank you, Star Financial, and please tell the downtown tellers that I will be thinking of them too while giving thanks this Thanksgiving Day.
Make sure you are aware if you don’t pay your house payment prior to the due date it will look like you don’t owe anything. My escrow changed and my payment was due the day before payday. When I logged into the app on the 2nd (payment was due on the 1st) the amount due was $0.00. I assumed my escrow credit paid a payment which would be weird I know. On the 16th the day the late fee is assessed Star calls me to inform me I haven’t paid my mortgage. So crappy policy with a crappy app. Fix that issue and I’ll make this a 5 star review.

This last update I have lost the running balance on my account. Meaning as when a charges comes in it doesn’t show the balance after each charge, only shows the total balance above. Having that information is actually nice.
I have had an ok experience with Star except very disappointed in the fact that I have been charged 5.00 for money transfers from my savings account to my checking. I am doing all of the work electronically so not sure why the charges and 5.00 each time is unacceptable. I guess I could come to the bank each time and take money out and redeposit it at the teller- seems ridiculous. Trying not to overdraft my account and getting charged anyway. 😠
This is a great feature to have and use. You should tell everyone about this feature. If people are afraid to place this proton their cell phone, they should go to a STAR branch and have them help you to be able to use this program.
Working inside of Star Bank actual stores is great. Everyone is friendly and it is quick and easy. The app is another story. Pending charges stay pending for a week sometimes. The app is down multiple times a month for maintenance. It is difficult to find what you are looking for. I am young and can find my way through an app no problem. But this banking tool needs some work or a fresh overhaul.
Is a wonderful tool to handle all your banking needs when your not in location that the bank is. Helps make sure your on track for goals and stay focus and being a good steward of your resources.
The app is simple to use and it shows you everything you need to see. There are convenient services to use via the app as well. I check my balance daily.
Star bank and the star app or wonderful for doing business. It’s easy to login and not difficult to navigate inside. Uploading checks is a breeze in the money is often available the same day. Customer support is also fantastic.
I enjoy my Star Bank phone app because it’s easy to use and I feel secure while using it and I absolutely love the Face ID features. Have never had glitches or problems with it! Highly recommend it!
Star Bank is an amazing bank and has always provided great service. Their support team is awesome. Anytime I have a question they are quick to answer. There bank is top notch and super secure!
Seems quite silly, that we still get the coin shortage narrative, which even if true, half dollars were never affected by, two other bank branches have already confirmed that to me. This whole shortage, was from covid 2020, c’mon folks! I am even promising to take the unused coins, elsewhere. This is a local bank, what you do and don’t do, reflects on the rest of this state. Don’t be like some of those other dorky banks, that many, in the particular community I am a part of, know aren’t being truthful. I mean, just say that you simply don’t want to, that would be far less insulting I think.
Understand that system migration have to happen - but going backwards on user friendliness is not acceptable. Classification of spending isn’t easy to use - mobile filters are no longer as flexible... so many options that we’ve learned to use and rely on over time are no longer available.
The features on viewing loan details/transactions on the newest update are a significant downgrade from the past version. I can no longer see a breakdown of my loan payment in the app and on the website, there is no breakdown of the payment in regards to how much is going into escrow or any additional principal that was made. I cannot find on either platform where this information can be found, which used to be neatly and easily displayed.
I am very pleased with your bank. All of the employees are friendly and help with ease. I am 80 years old and I get mixed up sometimes. Your bank is graciously helping me, and all questions are answered.
This app is great. I can deposit checks remotely just by taking a picture. I can sign in with my fingerprint so it’s really fast. Overall easy to use and navigate.
Does not show a running total like it used to. Does not accurately update available balance with pending transactions properly. Since we can’t see the transactions affect on balance, and can only go off of the total on the top(which does not always show everything pending), it has led to miscalculations.
After the last update, my mobile deposit stopped working. I have to delete app and reinstall it multiple times before it will work. Some days,I give up because I’ve deleted and installed so much.
Please modify to show the ledger balance like the previous version. This update is extremely frustrating as it doesn’t show your balance after pending transactions post.
Inconsistent with when your money will be in your account. Overdraft fees that come out of no where. I wouldn’t bank with them but they’re the only ones close to me so I’m forced to use this crappy service.
Every two days this app locks out my account and I have to reset my password. I’ve used this app for years and never had this issue until this new update.
I have attempted this App over 20 times. Uploaded, uninstalled, reloaded, contacted customer support, went into bank.....and I have absolutely NO Access! I have looked at any IOS updates, did those, turn off iPhone and turned back on.. still Nothing! I get an Orange screen and Nothing more! After a number of mins. I get the Retry / Log out / customer support options. NONE of them work. I’m strongly considering Changing banks!
