When I log into the app a message displays: “ You need to update your contact information. To do this, sign in to StockPlan using a desktop or tablet browser.” However, when I log onto the web, there is no message asking me to update my contact information. After changing/updating my contact info manually via my profile, I’m still unable to access my account via the app. If I can log into the the app, the app is worthless. I will update my rating when this is resolved. UPDATE: An app update / new login process have fixed this issue.
Such a stupid app, it won’t let me log in because it wants me to update contact info and directs me to the browser site. Login in to the website it doesn’t ask me to update anything or even shows me how. Terrible app.
I was relying on funds from my stock to pay an important transaction for my home purchase. Apparently there is a difference between Wire Transfer vs. Electronic Transfer. A wire transfer is also an electronic transfer on their website. BUT, one option takes 2 days to hit your account and the other takes 5 days. I was 100% relying on my money to be in my account, but that didn’t happen. Had to scramble and borrow from family to avoid losing my home. To make matters worse, when I called customer service to share the UI feedback, I was yelled at and lectured for not knowing better. That if I had just called to do the transaction then maybe I wouldn’t be in this position. That if I had used the website because the app doesn’t support all features... Just wow. It was so bad she called me back to apologize.
Why would a developer design a mobile app that redirects users to a web page to sign in and then back to the app? Why would a developer design a mobile app that, when you try to log in, tells you that you have to update your contact information that is already up to date, but requires you to use a mobile browser on a tablet or a desktop browser rather than letting you update your profile in the mobile app you just tried to sign into? “Enhanced security”? Yeah, I guess if you can’t log into your own account using the mobile app, that’s pretty secure. Unhelpful, but very secure.
I am a young professional and started buying company stock about a year ago. I spoke to Morgan Stanley customer service multiple times and I was told that I would receive a refund for my allocations from the current quarter if I left the plan. That was not the case. Instead they went ahead a bought shares for me this quarter while the stock price was high and now I can’t buy any the next quarter. I also needed some extra cash on hand in the near term and I can’t get that now. People in customer service just cost me money and have no idea what they are talking about.
What’s with all the 5 stats very negative reviews?
The app has now been useless for weeks. Asking to answer qsts on web site which are not being asked once you go there. I went through every parts of my profile and settings. Bad security and login systems which competitors never force users to do. Typical bank who treats phone apps as nice to have and think web site is the preferred way. Fix both! ETRADE customers will complain like a huge storm once migrated. How come so many recent 100% negative reviews show up as 5 stars? Doesnt make any sense
I downloaded this app for my stocks through my employer. At first it let me sign up and login . I went back to it to show my coworkers how to sign up before our buy in date and then it started happening. It said it’s a problem logging in and it’s a problem with the network . It’s then sends me to another screen to verify my phone number but my phone number is never there . I deleted the app and reinstalled but the same thing keeps happening. If you are looking for a good brokerage then go with E*TRADE
When I try to input my two-auth pin, there’s no enter button on the native OS UI sheet so I can’t proceed. I also can’t access or see the log in button. I tried to tap out of the number pad UI sheet but doing this freezes the app. iOS, iPhone mini 13 Also, I couldn’t find a way to get app help without calling or submit app feedback privately.
The developer has updated the app to look great on modern layouts. The app works fine, but the iPhone display isn’t just a bounded rectangle anymore. The notch and the bar at the bottom of the screen are crowded by the UI.
The app used to work perfectly fine, after some upgrade that came through now it ask me to sign in again and every time complains that I need to update my profile information online, not even sure why or what to modify, I actually did a change to my profile info to change my personal email yet the app keeps complaining at sign in, this just rendered the app useless.
Significant improvement to the dashboard list and much easier to find and view transaction history. Also, addition of Touch ID is a nice to have feature.
Better dashboard layout from the previous app. Finally added FaceID! Feature Request: I want to see the estimated RSU amount vesting each year alone based on current share prices, not just the cumulative account value, because that’s a key way to understand my annual compensation. Right now I have to go to upcoming events, add up the shares and calculate manually to get this.
Tells me to login on tablet or desktop to update contact information but there’s no notification or anything to indicate what to update even after successfully logged in on desktop. Just very disappointed service and don’t want to spend anytime taking to customer service to solve such a basic issue. Would give 0 star if it’s possible
The app and Morgan Stanley are awful. I am trapped using this terrible app and company because my RSUs and ISOs are handled by MS. I truly hate having this relationship with a company that does not have any consideration for the end user. They locked my account for no reason. It happened suddenly after I transferred all stock to my Fidelity account. I wonder if that had something to do with MS locking my account and requiring me to call them to access MY STOCK, MY PROPERTY, MY MONEY?!
I give you two months to get your act together with this app. Otherwise I am moving to Fidelity for my entire portfolio. I am not requesting fancy Robinhood like UI but a basic UI to tell me how many stocks I have! How ridiculous is this view where you only show value and don’t show number of stocks? If you are a new employee at company with stock vesting, please move to other brokers ASAP.
Update - still get errors in both the app and website half the time when I try to trade. Absolute garbage - I have no choice but to move my shares elsewhere. “An error occurred” is not helpful when attempting to trade. App is usually reliable but due to issues was not able to trade at the price I wanted and lost the opportunity. This should never fail - unacceptable.
This app doesn’t have nearly as many features as the previous one did. I would be able to sell a share in a few quick selections before. I stopped trying to figure it out and just use the website instead, this seems like a downgrade. The only use I see that it has is to look at numbers.....I want to be able to manage my account.
The app takes me to the website for logging in and the website displays a message that the app is out of date, while I downloaded this app and it’s latest version. Tried reinstall but nothing works, anyone know how to solve. Why does it even redirect to the web, when logging in, very weird user experience
I consistently have login problems with the app where Touch ID is enabled and doesn’t work and even when I login without Touch ID it doesn’t work...tells me I need to go to the website. Whats the point in having an app? On the rare chance I can get in, it’s not transactional or functional so you need to go to the website anyway. Extremely frustrating and the worst app I have of any company.
I have two accounts tied to this app. My current employer and my previous employer. Since the last update, this app will only allow me to click on my previous employer. When I click on my current employer, it gives me an error. Have rebooted my phone, deleted and reinstalled app, tried everything. Nothing works…. Please address
Ugh, stop creating/calling it and “Apple app”, where login (step 1 of using), prompts to lo leave app. WT?can just use browser if that’s where you are taking me anyway. Even after painful login, app offer little benefit. Would expect more of a company I pay money to.
I can’t actually schedule a sale, edit an existing sale or view transaction details. It’s a decent, light level viewing app for just telling me what my portfolio is currently worth. Please enhance, and I’ll update my review.
Bad enough that it takes you out of the app to sign in on mobile web. Once I did that, I got an error (which included a grammatical mistake) blocking me from accessing my account until I update my contact info using a desktop or tablet. My contact info is supplied to MS by my employer, is up to date, and cannot be edited directly by me. Totally useless app.
Today I tried to log in. My Face ID was expired, so I was directed to sign in again. Attempting to sign in led me to an error in a web site that this version of the app is no longer supported and needs to be updated, even though I have the latest version. I can’t find a later version, so I’m out of options.
Like others have said, I have been stuck in an endless loop asking me to login on the website and then back to the app to login again but it will not recognize my credentials. I have literally been unable to use this app for over six months, totally unacceptable experience. Get your act together!
Aren’t we in 2022? I signed in on the app and it directs me to sign in online, which I do. Then it sends me back to the app and makes me go through the loop all over again. The app is not recognizing the sign in. The app shouldn’t even be directing me to the web in the first place to sign in because that defeats the purpose of the app.
Every time logging into the app says “ there are some steps you need to do on desktop browser before you are logging in” But logging to the website doesn’t show anything . Re Installed the app few times same outcome.
Wasn’t great, but worked for awhile. Then it started saying that contact info must be updated on tablet or desktop. I tried that, but still getting the same message. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, still doesn’t work. Without login, this app does exactly nothing other than causing frustration and using up time to do so.
Saw another review that had the same issue a year ago. App won’t let me login bc I need to update contact info on web, did that multiple times and still doesn’t work. How does a big corp like MS not have this figured out. The worst customer experience.
This new app is absolutely awful. The old one was so much better and intuitive. This one doesn’t allow you to put limits in that I can find easily and I can’t determine the amount of options and value that are due to best into the future. Terrible disappointment!
When accessing portfolio, it turns out to a blank white page and that’s it. Once in white page, even unable to go back to other tabs and need to restart the app again.
The app keeps saying to update info on a desktop or tablet browser. But still doesn't work even after confirming the information. What a piece of junk. Invest some $$ in making a better app and not just giving investing advice to millions of people.
This has a lot of information but if never used it before it’s not clear what’s available, what’s been sold what’s been given, vested amount Over last 6 months seems way to high is that forecasted? Just no info on navigating and understanding all the information
I don’t know what this fad is with making apps that support iPhone only (not iPad), but it has got to stop. I traded what is now called “Stock Plan Connect Classic” that supported iPad, but generally had poor flow (just like the website) for a new app that displays like a stamp on iPad, but has better flow. Make it support iPad, please.
Weird that iOS doesn’t have widget support. I know Morgan Stanley acquired Etrade but still they lack on technology. Etrade aa Quick Widget and Save events directly to calendar, execute orders. Why can’t you guys update technology to the standard

The new version of the app, every time I login, tells me I need to update my contact information by logging on via a desktop browser. I do, and I can’t update my contact info there (nor is there any sign i need to). Worse than useless app.
I am able to login on the website using my laptop but not on mobile (when it redirects from mobile to the website) why? This has been an issue for years. Latest iOS and 11 pro max. Fix it.
I never can access my stock using this app. I have to use my home computer. Never had issues before changes. Tried deleting app and re-installing as well as shutting phone down. Still does not work.
While the old app is pretty crappy, this one is considerably worse with confusing ui. Also there is no way to review which shares are selected if you select options like “sell oldest share first” which makes it completely useless.
