I use this when I’m laying down Hammond tracks from across the room. Seems to synch up well at start up with my Mac and seems stable. A couple stars off for not being super intuitive in terms of finding things.
I have no problem with this app. My home studio is upstairs but my vocal booth is in the basement. So I can go down there and record vocal and guitar tracks all day long with no issues. This app is very easy to use. You do need a WiFi connection. As soon as you open your project in studio one this app will show that studio one is active and just click on it on your iPad and you are good to go. If anyone complains about this they are just miserable. The things we can do through technology is crazy. I remember when I had a monitor with a wireless keyboard and mouse in my vocal booth and thought that was awesome. Now a days it’s better all around. Or we can go back to where you have to have an engineer control everything so you see. This is a great app and it’s free. Thanks presonus for making great products.
I’m quite satisfied with the app as if fits my needs quite well. My keyboard controller’s transport controls aren’t currently compatible with Studio One and I was looking for something better than the computer keypad and mouse to move about the sequence. This also let’s me make quick metering adjustments and locate areas I want to edit rather fluidly. If I may make one request, however, it would be great if the play, stop, and record buttons at a minimum were color coded. With every button being grey on the transport page, I do find my self hunting the correct one to push all too often, usually after I’ve already hit the wrong one. Aside from that...I’m content.
This is an amazingly powerful tool. No issues setting up and it is incredibly useful. It does all the stuff the Pro Tools app does and adds macros. But...Pleading with Pre Sonus to cha ge the game by adding the ability to work on audio inside the session screen! It would give all the power I’d my PC and Mac for the iPad. I know there are great DAW apps like Cubase etc. however to do serious production it needs to happen on the computer. Remote wave editing would be another level of amazing. To sit on the couch and edit sessions on top of this!? Please beat PT to the punch and take it to the next level. Otherwise, thanks for this.
Last update resolved a few issues. I think the entire app runs perfectly now, no glitches and lockup’s that were evident a year prior. The GUI is nice, easy on the eyes and has the flat design without all those graphics with 3D etc., actually the color scheme looks perfect and great for day but especially great for controlling in dark areas. Great job on integrating all that functionality from the DAW! Look forward to more updates!
What are you 1-star people doing to have so many problems? This app works great for me, even with V5. Still allows me to record stacked BGVs from the vocal booth. Or play with a live rhythm section and control the recording. I don’t want to deny you folks claiming issues. But don’t you dare deny my claims that’s its working perfectly for me.
iPhone is always in my pocket. iPad is always stuffed under a couch, not charged etc. Not only are iPads an extra expense, but unless you’re a business who has a dedicated iPad always charged and ready to go for this purpose, you’re going to be bribing your kids to borrow it, waiting for it to charge or otherwise generally inconvenienced by the fact there’s not a stripped down version on your iPhone for quick remote tracking.
Ignore the bad reviews, these folks obviously don’t understand how cool this remote Studio One app is. I use it in my home Studio to remotely control Studio One especially when I’m recording vocals. Get it it’s a “no brained”.
With the new show page this app is just amazing! I love how I can arrange the song live and control Studio One wirelessly. It’s the best DAW app I’ve used.

I followed all of presonus’s online instructions including checking for updates, resetting studio one settings, and ensuring that the app was allowed through my firewall. I even installed the remote on the same computer that I have the daw on, and it still will not connect
I upgraded my studio one 5 and now the app won't connect. I get am error message saying this version of studio one is not supported…. It was fun while it lasted 🤷🏾♂️
Now that the Mac/PC version has updated the app is no longer compatible needing update for studio one 3 to be remotely operated by app please .....and thank you
This app is only for pro version should specifically tell you that so you don't download it thinking you might be able to use it when you can because you don't have the pro version thanks for the waste of time you get one star you're welcome.
It's ugly and flat No depth no shadows It's uninspiring to use. AC-7 HD IS FAR MORE INSPIRING sad that it's no longer updatable and compatible with iOS 11. For this reason I have remained on iOS 10. So I can use all the 32 bit applications I paid money for. This Remote is too plain It does not even look like a console. It look like a spreadsheet! I don't care how much functionality it has, I don't want to stare at this for longer than necessary. I'm glad it was free. I would have not paid for this ugly mess. No Taste.
I’ve been using this remote FOREVER AND NOW ITS SAYING IT ISN’T SUPPORTED?????????? I have studio one version 4 and it’s been working. I have a session tonight this is absolutely garbage and someone needs to address this immediately…..
It is extremely hard to get this app to work with studio one, and the support persons offers is ridiculous. Save your time and just use teamviewer instead.
I had hoped I would be able to use this in my vocal booth with studio one apparently the app has not been updated to work with the most up to date version of studio one,
I have been using studio one pro 2 for ages now and always wished they would come out with an iPad control surface and here it is! You have COMPLETE control over everything while using this. No lagging meters or locking up, just pure and easy control over your channels while being away from the actual computer. My favorite thing to use this for is monitoring input levels remotely while tracking. A must have app if you use studio one pro 3!
This app works great in conjunction with Studio One 3 Professional! It greatly improves and speeds up workflow; it's just an amazing tool to have at your hands in unison with the DAW. For someone whose recording/mixing environment doesn't always include a second monitor, it's nice to be able to bring the functionality and benefits of Studio One to my fingertips. Being able to access macros and assign key commands? No brainer! It makes a great DAW even better.
As if Studio One 3 weren't awesome enough, this remote puts it over the top. My setup is not typical because I have no desk, but this control pad brought everything together. All the functions are there so I can mix and record from anywhere in the room. Seriously. This is a totally useful app. Bravo, Presonus!
Perhaps the only developer in media that communicates with and understands the needs of its user base. If Presonus made sneakers I would but them. Studio One remote works beautifully. No connection problems here. Easy setup. All key commands, all mixer functions are there. You can create & edit macros. Multitouch faders. Love it.
For months I have been wanting tablet functionality in s1 similar to the 1818 and this blows my expectation all out of the water. Super fluid and versitile. Who needs mixing boards in studio when I have this!
Works great. No issues at all. Would like s few more functions. Maybe more with the Editor side of things. But nothing wrong with the Mixing Council. Great for small and home studios.
Well, it work at first, ipad air 2. After few minutes it stopped and now won't connect to Studio One at all. Checked both WiFi connection on my ipad and Macbook Pro both are on same WiFi. I checked in S1 preference and all seems OK. Tried to connect with with LogicX remote connection with LogicX works, so I imagine there is a bug( S) to be solved? No stars until then. and
I really liked using this app to run my DAW (I track live drums in a separate room). It use to work great. However, since the Presonus update, the app is "not compatible with this version of Studio One". Very frustrating when you work by yourself and your on a deadline!
Have been a Studio One user since 2012(luv it). Just got iPad Pro (luv it), not able to get Remote to work on iPad3. Have not used Remote in live setting yet. Still test driving it at home and all the capabilities of the app using with Studio One 3 version 1.1.1.35857 and Remote version 1.0.2.35309 Noticed a couple bugs that need to be worked out. On a song with 24 tracks, when muting all tracks except one seems to happen no matter what track is being soloed and all others muted, the track to the left of the solo track is muted and mimics the volume level in the channel slider of the solo track when it should be muted. It’s good but needs improvement and a little tweaking from the Presonus team
Worked on first boot after that just reports not comparable with this version of studio one.using the iPad Pro and air first gen. Will be a great tool once it's fixed that's why I rated five stars.
