Fun game and very little need to pay for extra features!
Currently at level 115, and am really enjoying this game to pass the time. You match characters together to string combos; the more you match the more points you get! Each stage requires a certain amount of points to count as completed, and the further you go, typically, the more points are required. I read a review of someone getting stuck on a level, and I think it’s because they never leveled up their character, which can be done using coins (you get them for free after completing a level). It’s tempting to spend money on more colorful characters but im quite happy using the standard “Tapioca” characters that can be acquired with coins. I’m sticking with this game as it’s fun for my partner and I to play and you can tease each other by boasting your scores~ btw the tutorial is long so brace yourself!
SumiSumi is super cute (well, most of the characters are). However, the levels are really difficult, it’s hard to get in-game currency, and I don’t understand the leveling up process. There’s currently an event going on in the game (a summer festival), but it’s so incredibly hard to get even a star for the levels. I’ve managed to complete the goals for levels one through nine, but I am thousands of points away from actually getting a star. I am still awarded a star, but getting a pole (much less a flag) feels impossible. I have so many keys already (600ish) but haven’t unlocked a treasure chest. I tried level five again by using three of my best Sumisumis (level 2 lol but I honestly have no idea how leveling up works), all four of the power ups, and finished with 12 or 14 turns left, yet I missed the goal for getting a flag by at least 10k points. Also, I hate to be that person (English is really hard to learn) but macaroons are the coconut mound things and macarons are the almond flour sandwich cookies that are actually in the game. I’m not upset that they are called the wrong thing (again, English is hard) but am irked because I’ve made them before and they’re vexing to make :P
It’s a really fun game, some easy lvls Some hard ones. Some not hard but challenging. I love the little garden shed that comes with our power up sumi’s. Really extremely cute characters! I like how they switch up the characters each time if you fail a lvl. I hate that they take away a clover for each time you play a lvl, YOU ONLY GET 5 clovers (life). They use a clover even if you pass a lvl and move on to the next lvl, on most if not 99% of lvl games, you get to keep your life you are currently using unless you fail the lvl. They don’t give free items to use or watch a video for a random item, or daily prizes (only for coins or gardening items), only item you get from watching a video is x3 moves when you play a lvl. At the end of a lvl, if you run out of moves, it doesn’t have a once in a while/hourly or daily watch a ad for extra moves to finish the lvl. Each area comes with their own list of missions to complete which can be confusing, lvls on each area doesn’t match the mission amount meaning you have to play certain lvls a few more times after completing to accomplish the missions to get your prize.
This game pulled me in with the adorable graphics and the previous reviewers promises of a fairly difficult game, which I hadn’t been expecting based on the aesthetic style it’s got going for it. I’m on stage 84 as I write this and I’ve been having an absolute blast! The game introduces new mechanics often enough that things don’t feel like they’re going to get stale anytime soon. The game is definitely a challenge, I’ve spent 3 days straight playing the same stage on and off just trying to get a high enough score to perfect it. If you’ve got a lot of friends, stamina isn’t an issue and there’s a system in place to friend people randomly. It feels good to help each other out! You also don’t have to perfect every stage, if you at least pass them friends can also help you move on to the next area. (If you perfect all the stages you can just move on.) Micro transactions aren’t especially in your face outside of the usual pop-ups. And once you’ve got at least 3 of the little characters you have a “full team” so to speak. I haven’t done many of the gacha pulls myself, I use the coin currency to level up my little guys and save the gems for the gacha. All in all this is a perfect little game and I love it!
This game is ADORABLE. Turn up the volume - it’s not just how it looks, it’s also how it sounds. I’d say this game is more fair, by a lot, than Candy Crush and other similar type games. It’s not a match 3 game, it’s more like the kind where you have to eliminate 2+ and then others fall into place and you see if you can eliminate them all. . You can actually strategize better than with Candy Crush too. It doesn’t feel like the game thwarts all your attempts at strategy (though, sometimes). You can also play this game for hours without a dime. Rack up friends (which is easily done even without connecting to FB) and get loads of free clovers, get free rubies and coins, etc. Rubies are the in-game currency and, although gains are slow, you don’t *really* need them. You buy special items, continues, and SumiSumi characters (you can also buy characters with coins). I would highly recommend this game. It’s very relaxing, fun, and simple yet challenging. For a phone game it’s nearly perfect and addictively cute.
I really want to love this game. It’s adorable and it was so addicting at first. A great way to pass the time and relax. A challenging game is great, I have no problem being challenged and solving puzzles, but for a game to be THIS difficult is just kind of frustrating and annoying. I’m not going to delete the game just yet, I want to give it more time. But I keep getting stuck on these levels. I have spent my hard earned money on this game just trying to pass level 69. It takes your money for rubies, but only gives you two extra tries and then just automatically fails you. $2 wasted, in my eyes. When a game is too difficult to pass a level in like 5 tries, it greatly decreases the playability. I don’t want to be stuck playing the same level over and over, I just want to keep moving forward. 😔
I love this game ! There is one problem though and it’s getting me very frustrated. It just happened. I wanted to buy the 5.00$ pack of rubies that contains 60 in it I believe. I am not even a teenager yet so I still have to ask permission to buy something. ( I am working on it 🙄) Anyway it takes a while for my mom to respond. I was waiting there for while and when she finally responded it took money out of my account thingy but never gave the rubies I payed for!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have tried opening and closing the app, but whatever I do it won’t work. I don’t know what to do! Please please help me. I can’t just let it take money from me. I am begging for a respond , a solution, something. I don’t know what to do !!!!!!!!
I originally downloaded this game because it was cute and fun, but the rating system for the levels doesn’t make sense. You would think that they would get progressively harder (much like Candy Crush or other games like that— traveling down a map/path means a steadily increasing level of difficulty), but instead the levels seem to have a random difficulty setting. I only got to #54 before getting stuck— I played the level probably 25 times and couldn’t beat it. I imagine this is because they want me to spend money, which is always sad— if you require me to spend money to beat it, my desire to play drops quickly. I love cute fun games like this, but having to play the same level 25 times makes me lose interest fast. Unfortunate because it was enjoyable to play up to a certain point.
So I just downloaded this game and it is absolutely the cutest game ever! I am a fan of Sumikko Gurashi and I love how they use them. I also love how the coins have the boba faces on them! The tutorial is pretty long, but at least I can learn how to play the game. And it's cool that each character has their own unique power and every character is so cute. At the beginning, they show this adorable show and I just had to show this to my mom how much I really love this game. I would give this game 5 stars because: 1. Cute 2. Fun 3. Awesome. I’ve been playing this game for a few years now. It’s super cute, and I haven’t needed to spend any money at all to reach the top levels (although I have a few times to show support for the developers), this is not the case for most games! They have special events weekly and scheduled maintenance times. They take care of the game and I’ve never had any issues the entire time playing. Overall it’s simply the best mobile game I have found and the cuteness makes me so happy!
I used to love Sumi Sumi and was a daily player. The app often offers rewards at various times for reaching different map levels. The last time they did this the reward was 1500 gems, which is a fantastic amount. So I spent gems I had, plus in game items I had accumulated to help me reach this reward. I reached it and was awarded the gems. The next morning the developer decided that the gems were not supposed to be the reward. So they took them away, leaving a fraction of the prize as a consolation. They did not take under consideration that players spent a lot of resources to reach the goal, since the prize was so great. I had never to this point spent gems or items to progress on the maps. The developer will not respond to customers over social media and they will not answer through in app “contact us”
I refuse to use the boosts because it is hard to get. I will not be tempted to spend money on this game. I do not participate in the events because my little sumi will need to be on steroids and coke in order to get a good score. I play the regular levels on repeat until I get a flag. Sometimes I will be blessed with good sumi, but most of the time it is random. I wait a few days to accumulate clovers from my friends. I love this game but also hate it. When I finally get that flag it’s like I busted a big warm load (of happiness).
This game is super cute, I love cute puzzlers so it’s the perfect game for me. But sometimes it seems like it just depends on luck, sometimes the game will drop matches left and right, other times you get stalemate 5 times in a row. Aside from that, they no longer let you skip the title sequence now and it’s annoyingly long. Today, I was waiting for the title sequence to send clovers to my friends, but after waiting for it to finally end, I noticed that I needed to update in order to play. After updating I had to wait for the title sequence AGAIN. No skips. If they fix this I’d be more willing to give it 5 stars.
I’ve been playing SumiSumi for almost 3 years now, and I still feel like I dont know how to use all of the features that are included. Mostly, I’m confused on my SumiSumi Buddy’s, from how to level them up to how to employ them in puzzles best. Does anyone have any advice?? Would love clearer instructions in game on this feature. LIVE LOVE LOVE this game. The puzzles are amazing and the animations are so cute.
I originally gave this game a chance as it features San X characters. The sounds are satisfying and relaxing, lovely array of characters to see, but as many have stated: it gets way too complicated too early in the game. I quickly run through lives and it is extremely pricey to buy in game items.. and I don’t even feel spending the money would be worth it due to how little you get for the money. I want to love this game but with how frustrating these levels are so frequently, and having to wait for more lives, I will undoubtably move on quickly to a different game.
I’ve been addicted in playing this game! It’s so cute and so addicting at the same time, collecting pets and playing levels. I love how there are small events in the game too :D But just recently I have reached in the 4th Area. The levels were getting ridiculously hard and it would take me sometimes half an hour to complete! If the developers can relieve the difficulty on these levels that would be great <333 But overall this game is amazing and I recommend many people to play this awesome game!
Game is cute!! Love it. Cannot stop playing before. But after the recent update, it may push me away!! It used to be ad free game, but now, Within 10 mins play, it can pop 4-5 Ads you must watch. There is no skip button for the ad, and after you wait and close the 1st layer, you must wait for couple seconds to close the 2nd layer of the Ad. VERY VERY annoying ! I don’t mind to watch the ad to gain extra life, or tools, but this non-stop Ad popping really make this pressure release game become annoying. I hope this can go back to it used to be.
I have been playing for a couple weeks now and have been saving up the rubies that I get from quest rewards. Today when I logged in, all of my rubies were gone and I now have zero rubies. There is really no way to contact for support and I have no idea if this is a bug or if it will resolve itself, but I am upset because a big part of the game is to save up rubies in order to summon a new sumisumi from the event draw. Now I must start from scratch and attempt to save up enough rubies just to summon once because it’s so difficult to obtain any at all, or at least enough. Hoping that this will get fixed, but not likely since there are so many others with problems revolving around rubies and in app purchases.
When I first downloaded this game, I was so excited. I love how cute the characters are, it’s satisfying to solve the puzzles, and it’s addictive to play. But every few days it has me download an update that takes forever to load, and if I leave the app at all, it has to start over the downloading process. And then when it’s done and I finally get to play, it takes at least 30 seconds to load all the initial pop-ups when you first open the app, and another 30 seconds of loading when you tap on a level you want to play. It’s so annoying and it makes me want to delete this app.
I have been playing for about a week. I got to the last level in world 3 and can’t beat it because the map is too hard. Got flags in all the previous worlds and this one level is stopping me from progressing further because I need high score Sumi Sumi. So now I am stuck failing the same levels over and over again because my characters just are good enough. This game has poor gating in this game. Don’t mind buying some stuff but when it seems more like a necessity to complete the game, it makes me have zero interest in playing. Needs fixed.

I highly recommend to play this game because it has updates, coins, rubies, tickets that you can spend it on. I love all the characters, and the game is very well made. However, sometimes, it’s difficult to tap the right characters because the icons are rather small, and it can be difficult to line things up without a clear grid. The game also seems to get difficult very quickly. Power ups are also quite expensive, so I can’t see myself getting very far with this game without spending a lot of money. It’s kind of a shame. I adore the characters.
I love this game but I wish it was not so much money. It’s hard to get things and it’s hard sometimes but i still love it .you can play with your friends or family! Awesome game!!! Sumi Sumi has some of the best characters that can’t be found in other apps. The gameplay is easy to learn and can ramp up very quickly, like during special in-game events. The animations and sound effects are very satisfying. There are features that let you help and compete against friends at your own pace. Overall my favorite puzzle game.
It’s an adorable game but the devs haven’t found the sweet spot between free-to-play and encouraging in-app purchases. It’s too hard, too fast. The best freemium games I’ve ever played (and spent money on) are the ones that have a difficult level about once every twenty levels or so. With that frequency of difficult levels, I’m willing to spend a little on boosters to get past the hard levels so I can keep playing. But when the levels are hard every other level, I just burn out. I’ve spent a couple of boosters and ten clovers on level 52 and I’m just done. 🤷🏻♀️ It’s not worth it.
This is my favorite mobile game ever! I'm up to level 1233 now💗 It does get challenging but while you're stuck on a level there's usually other events and things you can play instead until you've passed it. The characters are so adorable and fun to collect. And one of the best parts for me is that you never have to watch any ads :)
I play this game almost everyday. I don’t regret downloading it at all. There’s always endless thing to do, and the point that you can make friends is really cool because it adds another point that I think is really good: competition. And just when you think it’s completely impossible, and you nearly delete the game, you do it, and it’s just so satisfying. ._.
This game makes me want to drink milk tea with boba all day! Also it’s not as easy as it looks. You need to score 3-flags on all levels of an area before you advance to the next area. Or make friends so they can help you build a bridge. And even then, you can only accept a piece of the bridge every 6 hours. But the characters in the game are so cute that you just want to collect them all!
This is the best game in the whole world if you find this app you have to get it the characters are so cute the aesthetic is just adorable and the idea of this game is amazing I can’t believe I had not got this app sooner it is literally the best can not think of a bigger word than amazing and fabulous but if there were this game would be that word
The game is so cute and fun! But the levels are unreasonably hard at some points. I’m stuck on a level that is in the beginning of the new arena, and is crazy hard. It doesn’t even have the hard symbol level! The level doesn’t even make sense! It’s crazy! I still love the game. It’s just some of the levels are ridiculous!
It’s a very cute game. Very addictive and fun to play...most of the time. Get ready to lose, a lot. But the clovers (your lives) are pretty easy to come by since you can ask friends to send you them. Don’t bother buying the rubies for extra help in the levels. 20 rubies are about $2 USD, which sounds nice, except you got through them FAST. So you end up spending those $2 but multiple times a day. It all adds up! If your one who spends $$ on apps don’t play this game because it’ll drain your bank account! ご注意！
This game is super cute and I love the concept of it. I used to play this game everyday but haven’t cause the levels get extremely hard fast. I’m currently at stage 271 and been trying to beat it for about 4 weeks now, but it really seems impossible. Since I been stuck at 271 I just replay old stages and when they have extra stages available.
Ok THIS GAME IS TOTALLY AWESOME!!! These characters are adorable plus the theme is so cute I have never seen a cuter app. If you like cute things I definitely recommend this game. But as cute as it gets I still have a problem. Every time I finish a stage it exits me out and I have to start all over again. But over all best game ever highly recommend this I hope I can get your response bye!
In my opinion, it’s a very fun game! I easily spend hours playing without even realizing how long it’s been! Though, the character who tells you the basics for quite some time. I found this kind of bothering, but that doesn’t distract from the fact that this game is both incredibly adorable and extremely fun!
This was my favorite game of all time until they started using unavoidable pop up ads. But now they’ve taken them away!!! So it’s my favorite again!!! I’m in the 430 levels & play every day, have since the game came out. You scared me with those annoying pop ups, developers! Don’t bring them back!
Super fun and super cute don’t get me wrong but the only bad thing about it is that once I beat a level and I move onto the next one it uses another clover. I thought I just won that last level so why would I have to use another clover to play another level? Doesn’t really make sense, that really does need fixing, I can only play like 3 levels each time until all my clovers recover again. Please fix this bug!
I’ve been playing this game for over 2 years. I’ve beaten every level at least once, but I still manage to have fun with constant new events and score challenges. I love all the characters, so that makes it even more fun ❤️
This game is really good, but before I played the game I read the comments and people were saying good and cute, but frustrating. I did not understand before I played the game. I started about 10 or 15 minutes earlier today and I’m level 21. But, the only thing I think is wrong is that they give you little moves with a lot to even ask for. But anyway, awesome game!
I used to love this game and would play it all the time, it’s super cute and very challenging. However, the most recent update has started shoving advertisements in my face which makes the game frustrating to play when I have to watch a 30 second long ad for every minute or two of game play. I wish they’d go back to how they had it before where you could watch ads for power ups/boosts instead of against your will
i love this game so much. fun, eventually quite challenging, and extremely cute. you never get bombarded with ads or have to pay a cent to play. its constantly being updated with new events that feature new levels, characters, and other helpful things. you do need ‘clovers’ to play levels, but if you add some friends you literally never have to worry about running out. its become a staple of my routine to wind down before bed. this is genuinely my favorite mobile game of all time, and its free. much love to the devs.
The levels continue to challenge you as you progress. The characters are cute! It’s a good way to work your brain and also a good distraction. Plus there are literally hundreds of levels and always has side challenges.

I love this game with all my heart, and was able to successfully get rubies from sending the invite link to my boyfriend about a month or so ago, but now it won’t work! I’ve sent it to three other people and have seen two of them download it with my link, but no one gets the promised rubies. I can’t find any customer support link either, please help!
I never write reviews. But, I’m hooked on this game. Super easy at first but it becomes more difficult as you progress. Level 180 is impossible. I made an in app purchase and when I bought drums nothing happened! So I’m annoyed with that. If rainbow drums don’t work, what’s point ?
Thus game is one of the best I got! Extremely adorable! Pretty cool the fact that they used SUMI SUMI characters and SanX characters too but theirs a tiny little detail... The game is kinda hard. The first stage (chapter) have some levels that took me time to get the hang it. But it’s super Kawaii and that’s the only thing I need! ❤️👍🏼
The game is fun and all but the special events with event sumis are impossible to finish. I used to play for hours daily but since i get so frustrated I’ve stopped. Even when you complete the flags you still need to collect tens of thousands of the event sumis to count for ONE event progress point. Buying gems is a rip off. It’s just not as fun once you progress past the first 200 levels.
I like the game but the king talks to much I’m not saying this game is bad or anything but this game is really fun and good I give this app a thumbs up person that made this game should be proud of making this really adorable game so if you what this app yes go and have fun playing this game and give it a 5 star
Love the game so much the only problem i don’t understand why so bugy, always the game crashing and force quiting that’s frustrating because the game is very relaxing and then.. a bug. (I have Iphone 13)
I’ve had this game for months now and it’s one of my favorites. The reason for my 3 star rating is because I’ve been stuck on level 200 for weeks! Nothing I’ve tried works and there are no tutorials at all. If someone could give me some insight as to how to beat level 200 that would be great and I’d be happy to change my rating. 🙏🏼😊
I got stuck on level 100 and can’t go past it without paying or getting full points on levels that are seemingly impossible to get full points on. I was loving the game but I’m not willing to spend money on a time waster game. Props to the developers for basically forcing people to pay for it to continue playing. Get your bag I guess.
