I love this app, we are looking to move in March and just seeing what is on the market right now. Shelly is an amazing tour guide and Sunroom needs to make sure to keep her around. I’ve told everyone I know about this app and my easy experience with her. This app solves a big problem a lot of us face on the daily. My first suggestion for improvement is to filter rentals by their pet weight limit. The app does ask for my dog’s weight (60 pounds) but still shows me rentals that done allows dogs over 35-50 pounds. It’s disappointing to see a house I really like, scroll down and see my dog is over the weight limit. Also it would be nice to filter the favorites section by move in date, rent etc so you can see your options in order. Thanks in advance for reading!
We applied for a home using Sunroom rentals and had an absolutely awful experience. We went and toured the home first using their self tour feature, which like everything else on the app and website was buggy and did not work. It was stating we were not close enough to the home while standing at the front door…so once we toured the home we decided to apply. While applying, we witnessed the worst customer service i have ever experienced. The number you can text responds extremely slow and are mostly auto generated responses it seems which is not personable or helpful. The number you can call to reach “someone from sunroom” is clearly just a call center with people who don’t actually work with the company itself. We would have been the first applicants for this home had the website not been buggy (wouldn’t let me upload documents) and if sunroom rentals would have followed through with their portion of the application (could not send email verification in a timely manner) so not only do they collect your application fee, they give you a 24 hour clock to get everything done while taking forever to do things on their end. At the end of this process, of course, someone else applied for the home first and ended up signing the lease and we got nothing but robbed of our money and time. Seriously do not use this company while trying to rent a home, it’s not worth the headache or money.
This company is honestly so sketchy. Firstly, I work at an apartment so I understand the difficulties of housing BUT this company is the worst. I found a rental property on Sunroom and got up to the point of paying a safety deposit. The rent was listed as $1,075 and I made sure to use their chat to inquire if utilities were included in the rent. I had to ask the chat because there was no mention of utilities in the listed information on the property. The chat confirmed my rate was utilities included so I went ahead and paid the deposit. Then I am sent an email with the total rent on the property listed at $1,200, when I asked my property manager she said this was my rent WITH UTILITIES. I sent her the messages and informed her that was not listed in the bio to which she lied and said it was mentioned BUT this wasn’t listed originally as the updated bio now has an ** with the information on utilities. I could understand if they would admit to their mistakes with the listing and the inaccurate information but the fact they are trying to lie to my face about the whole thing in unacceptable. Basically, I not only wasted $120 in application fees but my time and other housing opportunities. PLEASE, consider when I say the whole process is not worth whatever rental they are selling you.
It’s just better and I don’t have to manage realtor relationships and I can just see stuff. I honestly wish every property used sunroom so I could see houses on the fly when I feel like it instead of schedule coordinating.
This app is buggy and Sunroom’s customer service is terrible. I submitted an application and had to call four times to get an update on it. Then the “application review” department told me I had to give notice where I currently live before they would review my application, which makes zero sense. Once you give notice, you have to move. I could not believe I was having to explain that you have to secure a new place before giving notice. When I asked to file a complaint about what happened, they told me to email an admin mailbox and that I couldn’t talk to someone. Then they said they wouldn’t be processing my application (which they charged me for.) I’m now disputing the charge through my bank. Do yourself a favor. Use a realtor. This is a start up tech company that is clueless as rude.
Do NOT work with this company. I submitted my application last month and they just denied me and has yet to reach out to notify me why. They hadn’t reached out to me with any updates on my application at all throughout the whole process, made me give them all of my information along with a $75 application fee and when they tried to swindle me into paying a double deposit because my “credit score was below the requirement” and I told them I would reach out to TransUnion to verify, I received an email telling me that the property was leased the NEXT DAY. Completely unprofessional and a waste of time and money PLEASE save urself the trouble.
This app takes away the convenience dealing with a person when renting a home and makes the whole process much more complicated. There is a number you can text, but it can take a day to get a response, and you don’t know who you're talking to. Also, you pay the deposit to sunroom, not the owner of the property. In my case they allowed themselves 45 days to transfer those funds to the owner. If there had been any kind of issue, or if sunroom suddenly went out of business, I would have been stuck paying the deposit twice. I would not use this app again.
This app is the best at finding rentals fit to your needs. One of the only apps that has a move-in date filter. Only complaint is that every time I've used it on my iPhone, both this year and last, it often shows me a blank white screen and won't load the page. Have to exit out and try again.
We used Sunroom to rent our current apartment and loved it! It’s easy to use, makes it quick and easy to contact a landlord and get a tour of a spot and includes lots of helpful details. We will be using it to locate our next place.
I’m really glad to have found this app. It has made my house hunting from across the country so much easier! I just punch in our parameters and see what’s available.
We have recently found a great place using this app, and we couldn’t be happier! However, this app needs some changes to make it more user-friendly: - The pictures are scroll-through only. I’d like to be able to tap a picture to enlarge it. - There is no ‘share’ button, to share with s/o or roommates when you find a good place. - the chat doesn’t have its own tab, it tries to pop up on your screen, and it can get in the way. Also, you cannot access a conversation once you’ve left it, until they respond to you. Just a few things I noticed, but overall a great service and very attentive realtors/locators!
So I used sunroom last year to find my current rental, so I went ahead and tried to use them this year. I don’t know what happened between last year and this year, but, the app is useless and the fact that you have to log-in to use it makes it even more frustrating. The error “Internal Server Error” keeps popping up making both the website and app useless.
Great App! Very user friendly and makes the whole leasing/renting process so much easier. I would recommend this service to anyone looking to rent in Austin Texas. Also Sunroom has a amazing team and they are very dedicated to make you their number one priority.
This app is one of the most annoying apps I’ve ever had the displeasure of using. I say outside a hours from 5pm to 6pm. Trying to get it to scan my ID and the verification selfie just for it to keep kicking me back and not work over and over again. It should NOT be this difficult to scan my ID so I can verify my self. Will not be going through this company to rent my next home.
I have found this app to be helpful but filters do not work and there is no way of searching for key things like “furnished” in your search. Also, I can’t figure out how to change my map area once I initially set it.
Poorly executed back navigation button. Unable to go back because placement is in same orientation as time. And why is there no map option? Everyone is looking for location. That’s literally how everyone navigates and you’ve made it an afterthought . Do your homework kids! Location, location, location is the first rule of real estate and you couldn’t even get that right. Good luck keeping up with the big guys!
I am so not happy with this app. They keep posting apt and homes that not available anymore. I’m trying to reach broker and there is no answer. No option to reach site and request an explanation. For ppl who planing to move from another state this app doesn’t give any good information, waste of time, because they don’t update their website
Finally! Guys, I’ve been waiting for this forever. What took you so long! Just kidding, thank you ... it’s great to finally use Sunroom without typing the word “Sunroom” into browser every single time.
The app itself works great and looks great too. I like all the filters I’m able to apply to look for homes as expected for a service like Sunroom rentals but it feels very clean.
I rented my apartment through Sunroom and it was an easy, stress free experience. I loved how I could tour it on my own and how easy it was to lease after. Thank you!

The app itself is fine. But the two different realtors we had were pretty awful. Neither seemed qualified, and were very unprofessional. The houses we visited were all filthy, and we have only had this issue with sunroom, not any other company realtors.
If you want an application to take 3 weeks to process, with people who literally make up answers rather than bother to look on their computer, use Sunroom. It's beyond horrendous. I couldn't say enough bad things about them.
They take too long to go through application and uploaded documents. When you text the number for help, the lied and said the property was rented yet the emails stated otherwise. $60 per applicant and they do nothing to facilitate a rental
the app looks nice and it’s easy to set up. however, it’s hard to find messages/requests. also anytime i need to go back after clicking on a home i have to close the entire app and open it up again. painful process truly
