I think having an app for banking is great! This app is very easy to navigate. I would like to be able to see my account and routing number in the app somehow. I still have not figured out how to do so. Regardless, I’ve had a great experience!
I have to start by saying this app is actually ok compared to the mobile website for Synovus. The user experience across ALL of your platforms is abysmal at best. This one is so simple I wonder what I’m even logging in for… I don’t feel like it can do much but look at transactions… don’t know what else the app is optimal for. Your website is overwhelming for anyone with more than one account and overcrowded if you only have one account. I have a business debit and business credit account. To manage these accounts I need two apps plus the mobile website, why? I don’t know if the PMs and engineering team are working to solve some of these issues but please consider consolidating… I can’t run a business and check 525,600 apps to manage my accounts. What is the value you are looking to provide? Cause I feel robbed and the app is free. Where is user testing? I will gladly offer my support.
Synovus Gateway website says you can use zelle with the business banking app (synovus gateway). I have tried both the website and mobile app and neither have any such link to utilize this feature. When I am in the Zelle app, it tries to get me to log into the synovus banking app and I don’t have the option for synovus Gateway. This cost me 45 minutes of my time today and it isn ridiculous that they bost you can use zelle in the gateway app but there is zero guidance and what guidance is given is completely incorrect. I basically use this app to check balances and approve payments. I am very tech savvy and this is not user friendly for anything nor thanks checking accounts and approving payments.
Synovus tech still years behind other mainstream banks.
After having been using mobile deposit for my other personal checking accounts, the fact that it was only introduced within the last year for business accounts by Synovus is disappointing. Also disappointing is the rate at which the app refuses to accept checks meaning I still have to go to the bank on a regular basis. If I have a stack of checks to deposit, and it rejects 1-2 of them, consistently, then it defeats the purpose of mobile deposit. I moved all my personal banking away from Synovus to more modern solutions. This is what online banking looked like 15yrs ago at other banks.
Gaining access to statements is excruciating. One by one by one….. Also, there’s no search feature for checks and deposits except for the current month. That’s not the industry standard. Also, I cannot rename entries so as to make it meaningful for my own records. For example, Bank of America allows me to name each deposit and check and other withdrawal so that I can readily search and find all payments to Bill Jones. Synovus doesn’t come close to that kind of arrangement. In short, I despise using the Synovus online feature.
- at first glance view is not designed viewer friendly. Amateur design. - debits/credits do not reflect in itemized section instantly like other major banks phone apps. Takes 2 days to appear. This time delay is same as old online banking. What’s the point/benefit of having apps. It should be improvement. - All around amateur looking aesthetics and usability. I hope IT team researched other financial institutions phone apps. - Highly disappointed by Synovus’s IT’s backwardness and don’t give a cent about business account holders convenience.
Always seem to have an issue that the pictures of the check are not recognized although looking at the pictures you can read everything. Sometimes even trying multiple times it still gives an error message. Eventually have to go to the bank to make a physical deposit.
Easy to navigate for a 72 year old. My only problem is depositing a postal money order . The mobile deposit requires a signature on the front of the money order. There is no place for a signature on the money order. I have to cash at the post office 🤔
This is an excellent app for me. I don’t have to go to the bank just to deposit a check I don’t have to call a bunch of numbers just to check to see if a check has cleared or not. Love it
So far Im enjoying this app. Wish it had a little more interaction, but for the most part it’s McDonalds (I'm loving it) lol. All jokes aside the information I've learned in regards to buying or owning a home has been phenomenal. Thank you.
User-friendly, no unnecessary notifications, no solicitation, I wish they had credit card pay option instead of transfer. I am yet to explore the bill pay option on the app.
First, I’m grateful the app is available. It is such a game changer to have this capability. Second, the app is user friendly and nice to be able to do day to day to things such as mobile deposits.
This checking business account is not a user friendly tool. Trying to set up an ACH payment was impossible without calling in for help. Setting up an reoccurring payment and then stopping future reoccurring payments has not been successful at times and I sent duplicate payments without knowing. Not happy with Gateway online banking.
The Synovus banking App is amazing, intuitive and powerful. It gets the job done so well there is no need to log into the online version. It’s easy to use and it works 100% of the time. A home run….JerryL
I bank with various banks and Synovus Gateway is by far the most difficult banking app to navigate. The #1 reason I have NOT moved all of my banking to Synovus is because of the mobile/online banking experience. I, like most people today, do 99+% of their banking online. Synovus really needs to put some time and effort into making this better if they want to compete with the others.
This app is functional but not great. The biggest negative issue is the inability to see all my accounts (business and personal) in one place. I have to have both this one and the MySynovus app to see all of my accounts.
Not many issues with it, does what I need. A little buggy, opening on one account page and logs out when you hit back, but once you expect it it’s easy to navigate around
The UI feels a decade behind. I can make and authorize payments but I had to dig around. I recently opened another account with Chase and there is a stark difference in ease of use. I was able to figure how to transfer money with an external account, setup payees and wire transfers, move money between internal accounts by myself.
App has previously worked but now not allowing mobile deposit. It progresses properly until submit deposit is chosen then completely shuts app down and restarts. I have deleted and re-installed twice. Will cause me to switch banks.
I’m not fond of the pending transactions and how it causes the balance to display. I’m one that balances a checkbook register TO THE PENNY and have spent countless amount of time trying to balance my businesses finances. Aside from that, great app!
This app is awful, I can’t believe a this bank makes two apps that don’t connect with each other. It’s silly that I need one app for my business accounts and then I have to sign out and into another app to check my personal accounts. Your only getting one star because it won’t let me choose zero.
Stay away from this bank. The $1200 limit on your own money is ridiculous. You have to call and speak to clueless reps (and spend an hour on the phone) to get an increase each time on your own money!!!!! So many other banks that deserve your business. This will forever be a low rate, B grade bank. Lost my business forever.
Banked with Chase for years and loved their app. Changed my accounts to Synovus because I moved and branches were more convenient. Chase’s app is far better and more flexible. One example: They notify you if you account overdraws and gives you time to transfer funds without overdraft. Wish I had never moved. Planning to go back to Chase.
App falsely says signatures and corners of checks are missing. App reports “successful deposit,” then notifies business owner BY MAIL that deposit amount has been deducted from account, the bank claiming falsely a signature is missing. Requires customer to call Synovus to try to figure out bank’s error.
