Having been a BOC customer for our home and our business, this mobile app makes our lives even easier when we travel! It’s simple to use, has an excellent help center and so convenient. It’s very user friendly for these two 70 something’s to figure out!
I have had relationships with different banks and this is by far one of the best experience I ever had starting with customer service over the phone and at the branches are nice, efficient, always willing to go above and beyond to help you. I have a bank account and a mortgage with Vist Bank and I am a very satisfied customer
The customer service I have received numerous times between calling the branch directly, in Pleasantville NY, or speaking after hours with services, they are truly top notch in my book. They are professional, provide clear guidance, great support and are super patient on the phone with me. I’m extremely grateful with everyone’s help and continued support.
Setup of the app took less than a minute. I love being able to use Face ID to log into my Tompkins Banking App now. Some of the new features (bill pay, ability to turn debit cards off/on, etc..) make this app far superior than the prior app.
Read the mailing they sent everyone. Follow the instructions. They tell you what your temporary password is. Reset your password back to the old one if you want. It’s much better than the old app. We gotta keep up with the times my people!
Always available on line or in person. Even on the phone if an issue arises. Have been with them for at least 25 or 30 years with no intention of changing financial institutions.
I have been a customer for about six years and used a variety of online services at Tompkins Trust. Their latest incarnation is the most comprehensive. With a little practice it addresses all of my needs. Thanks Tompkins!
I like how convenient the app is for most things but there is no way to look at a list of past checks beyond a month like you used to be able to on the site. That is the only thing I wish was different.
Thanks, Tompkins, for updating your mobile banking app. It’s much better than the previous app and allows me to do all of banking, including bill pay, from my phone. Keep up the great work.
The site is difficulty to use. The Authy two factor app should be shot and tossed into the lake. There must be a better way to arrange for 2 factor authentication than Authy. How about a fingerprint or letting the customer identify an icon or keyword from multiple choices to authenticate their login? On the plus side, TCT’s CSR are always responsive to answering my questions on how to use the bank’s disappointing app.
I wish they had Zelle function, yes I know they have payee function but I like to quickly send money not ask someone for their bank information to send money.
Really annoying that we can’t deposit more than a couple grand per month through mobile deposit. I’ve been a customer for years and would think my amount would be increased base on my deposit history. I hate having to go to the bank.
Tompkins is a great bank, and when looking for a brick and mortar near my house I was shocked to find so many locations which makes it super convenient for me if and when I need to go. Yeah yeah I know everything is digital now a days, but it’s still nice to have the option to go there in person if needed. Speaking of digital banking, I can’t rate this app high enough. I have other accounts with major institutions and honestly Tompkins blows them out of the water. I won’t go into all the details, but it literally has everything you could want or need in a mobile app, plus you can even attach digital receipts to your transactions if you want to. I usually only use this for major transactions but still another great feature. The only downside to Tompkins and the ONLY reason why they’re not my only bank is their savings rates are trash. I get it though. They’re not a fin tech like SoFi or some of these other banks; they have a lot of locations and employees to pay, but it’s frustrating knowing they’re so close to perfect, and if they raised their rates that would set them on another level. Granted inflation is so high right now, even the 1.25% savings rate at SoFi means essentially nothing, but hey, it’s more than the 0.05% Tompkins offers. If they could somehow get these rates up that would put them over the top. Overall, if you’re looking for a great financial institution with friendly helpful people and a great banking experience, look no further. They really do a great job and I’m very glad I opened an account here! Keep up the great work Tompkins!!
New app requires me to reset my password but will not accept any new ones. It’s probably not the app itself but the whole back end. Why can’t companies manage an IT system transition. Can’t do my banking yet again.
The new version leaves out older phone owners. I have to get a new iPhone with newer updates to be able to once again use this app. Totally useless to me now and has me rethinking my banking choices.
Worst online software of any finance institution I have used. Almost slways some glitch preventing looking at or using accounts. Very user infriendly interface very terrible service since trying to become merrill lynch type institution.
I’m really bummed! I have been using on like banking for years and Now I’m closed out of my accounts because my iPad is older. I can’t believe you didn’t realize that seniors may not have updated equipment. Shame on you!
The new app is horrible. It took me days to sign in, and it doesn’t even have me in the system. When I finally log in it doesn’t show my transaction history
This app is just as bad as their old one. I followed the instructions that were in the standard mailing and it won’t accept my password. I’ve tried so many times now I have to call them and straighten it out because it says I’m locked out.
Referred to a loan officer who called hours later when I was in a meeting. Nothing is easy to find or is not available on the app like other institutions.
The worst on line / mobile banking I have seen. Makes me think seriously about leaving for another bank for both business and personal accounts. Completely unacceptable on all counts.
Nice to know some things never change, like the digital cluster-F that was the Tompkins log-in system. New app. New system. Seriously? Tried to sign in - was sent to the ‘we can’t find you’ page. Was told to enroll, and sent to account recovery. When I tried account recovery, was sent to the ‘you’re already enrolled’ page... etc etc etc. Bounced back and forth, then locked out. Again. Can’t wait to chat with my old buddies at TCTC tech support. Again. Just like old times...
