Pros and Cons

The game in the early stages is extremely good and doesn’t require much effort into clearing, just some high level friends and that’s pretty much it, not to mention the story behind it too, Reddit and Twitter are the places to complain about the story arc. Here on the App Store or Google Play is to simply write reviews; the game is still as good as it is, however, the only things weighing it down is the extreme lack of actual general characters and general production, all new characters that are dropped are simply powercrept versions of pre-existing characters and you can’t get them without a little bit(or a crap ton) of pocket change to spare, and there’s also the general production of the game, I’ll keep it as short as possible. The events are where the game is mostly at, the story itself is extremely lacking after clearing Chapter 3, everything within Chapter 4 feels like unnecessary filler and the main storyline chapters aren’t that appealing anymore, everything is more cutscene than actual gameplay itself now resulting in lack of actual levels being grinded(of course players can just repeat stages with auto battle which is extremely helpful). Other than all of that, the general gameplay mechanics are simple to understand and the game itself is still pretty enjoyable.

Data Transfer problem

Hello everyone! I gave this game a 4star rating because I really do enjoy the game and love the characters, especially the voice acting. The problem I have is that I had bought in-game currency on my old device and spent it on some new characters but since I have a new device I don’t have any of my stuff. I tried linking my old accounts through Facebook and my Apple ID. It didn’t work. I was going to contact the developers but I can’t because I do not know my old User name or ID. I would love to play this game again but unfortunately I can’t. If any developer sees this please help me.

Strangely fun as you progress

As I started this game, I’ve found it to be lackluster. One of the few where I wasn’t awe’d at the start and instead played for the sheer idea that I could collect characters from a franchise sitting pretty at #1 of my favorites… That was, until you start getting more friends, level up, and realize it actually requires a decent strategy to a degree, similar to how Pokemon isn’t so much as a “five presses, I win” game but you can still level up your friends to steamroll on sheer level for some cases. All in all, mediocre first impression but last past it and you get oddly addicted. I admire how slow many of these ‘gathering’ actions seem to take, for example: how difficult it really is to get God Crystals… It feels like they’ve really promoted consistent playing as the most rewarding method, rather than dropping a lump sum in hopes that you get what you want. Except for getting scrolls, tiles, and books. Sure they are definitely aided by the dailies… But are so darn slow that it peeves me. But that’s just the nature of this style of game for a grind and honestly shouldn’t really be changed.

I would recommend giving it a try even if you’ve never played a Touhou game.

The tutorial is relatively fast and easy to understand in comparison to some other games I’ve played so if you have usually trouble remembering the controls playing games don’t worry. the storyline is very interesting and it just makes you feel as if you’re really in the game itself and the amazing quality of the background and characters. The added feature that you can choose your own character’s name and the fact that it appears in the storyline also contributes to that feeling but even if I couldn’t feel immersed in the storyline I would still be able to enjoy the game. The soundtrack also hits different than in any other games but in a very good way, I think every game needs some good gameplay and even better music and this game managed to carry this out without any trouble. It seems to have done that to a level I never thought was possible. I do wish I had something I could recommend in order to improve the game but unfortunately I do not currently.

It’s fun but it’s too gatcha and not that much Touhou related

Other than the characters.. the story is pretty meh, with all the money they can’t even put character animations , they are just still pics and out random faces and that’s it… they could at least move the hands or what not (although the music selection is amazing). Pity doesn’t transfer from banners… you need 50 crystals and 15k coins to do 10 pulls.. you need 150 to “exchange it” for pity, and since they limit your coin amount (although practice many other games do, getting them isn’t as hard). At lv 56 my limit is 39k, so doing 20 pulls take me to almost 0 and there is no way, as a F2P you get to 40 Chances are, you aren’t going to get a new banner character unless you are extremely lucky… and then won’t be able to limit break them as getting a divine paper isss sooo hard Combat is like many gatcha.. so I play it on the tablet while doing something else. Should you play it? Sure, it’s a good time waster.. should you expect an amazing game or invest on it? Personally I would say no, game does have a lot of limitations for F2P players, and IMO, if a game neglects F2P, they don’t deserve anyone to be dolphin/whale

I really like this game

I love this game so much, coming from a touhou fan this is really a treat to play and I'd like to thank the developers for what they're putting out. If you're a fan of touhou at all, you'll love the writing and stories, it's like reading a well written fan work (because it basically is one). The gacha is amazing because it's not predatory at all, you can easily save up enough crystals to get your favorite touhou when it comes out (and the rates are nice). The gameplay is simple but fun to mess around with, most levels are a breeze until you get to scarlet tower or lunatic mode, so you can experience story with a basic team. All the characters are voiced for combat and menu screens. The only thing you really need to pay for is costumes (which are well priced if you want to support the game). Also, they use different circle's music for the game's soundtrack so it's fun and varied. Overall, 9/10, gameplay is simple but I love the genuinely fun story and characters, very good translation/localization. Give it a try and support the devs!

What this game needs

The game is really fun but there are some stuff I think would be really good for people playing this, I think players should get more seal crystals daily and more gold to make it easy to do prayers and ect, there should be a friend list system to add other real people to and to play with them together, another thing is bringing old prayer exclusive characters to the standard one and ect because I haven’t got yuyuko or eirin yet so that way people can get them without worrying about their pitty and make the rates of getting characters higher than getting story cards,last thing I want them to have is a clan function and a chat system and for the clan function there should be special boosts you can activate to make stages a bit easier and that’s all I think I need touhou lostword to have and overall it’s a fantastic game!

Good game but…

First off I do love this game. It has a great story and is fun to play. But the biggest negative for me is it’s lousy gacha rates for characters. You save up your seal crystals for a new character but then you don’t even pull a character after almost a hundred pulls and that still isn’t even a enough to exchange for it as you need to pull 150 times to exchange. It would be different if it did not cost so much to pull. Azur lane costs only 20 cubes for a 10 pull, Touhou costs 50. If you save up a 100, you get over double the pulls in Azur lane compared to only 2 ten pulls in Touhou. Even if the drop rates are low, which they are in both, you have a better chance of getting what you want just because you have more chances of pulling. I wouldn’t mind spending money but when that does not even guarantee you getting the character you want, except after spending way more than I’m willing, I think I might move on to something else.

I LOVE THIS BUT NEEDS ONE MORE BIG UPDATE IF POSSIBLE

I played this when it came out and I really think there should be a Player vs Player mode and two more things because fighting the NPCs with that Advance AI(lunatic is crazy in that time) but I think fighting real players would make the standard of this game better. The second thing is character charts, because we have Touhou characters from the games and would be nice to have a reward for collecting like All of the characters of EOSD or PCB and get a big reward for the effort. My last thing I want is PC 98 characters if possible because in chapter 3, we somewhat have info of Marisa mentioning someone teaching her these magic powers so I’m hoping we can at least have 12 characters from it, the 4 main characters and 8 boss characters. I love this game and I’m ready for another 6 months

Been Playing Since Launch

Although there are a few complaints I have, mostly the main story being updated at a snails pace (and when it is, we get mere bread crumbs of content as compared to the past chapters), and the horrific decision of adding in pure fes units which you can only strengthen with copies of the same unit, abysmal drop rate unless (surprise!) you spend real cash… But I do love this game a lot. It’s not exactly p2w (ignoring pure fes) and it feels much more fair compared to most games out there. I’ve yet to pay a single cent and I’ve got lots of epic and relic units from saving. Maybe one day I’ll buy something to show my support, but it’s not impossible for f2p to do well! If you do decide to play, keep an eye out for me in the helper menu, I’m known as Meyling! :)

Hardly a Touhou game. Shameless cashgrab.

This game turns everything that makes Touhou Touhou, into a shameless gacha cashgrab. Just another boring, same-y gacha trading card RPG Asia seems to love. Another butchering of a beloved series into a mess that barely resembles what the it once was. Whoever is rating this game high obviously has no connection to Touhou or have played any of the original games. These are the self-proclaimed “fans” that have never played a game and only listen to the music and look at fanart. Like another reviewer said, THIS game is one of the reasons us fans need to gatekeep and protect this series from mainstream contamination. If you want to play good Touhou mobile games, check out Touhou Dungeon Dive, Thousand Night Anamnesis, or any of the fanmade games. Also, how much money is ZUN/Team Shanghai Alice even seeing from this game? I really want to know. How much is he being paid for this wonderful series and characters that he’s crafted all himself for 25 years?? And how much are the CEOs of Good Smile raking in from this?

What Happened?

I have to say this is a really nice game the music is nice the combat is fun and I like the game feels relaxing. But I do have a couple of complaints the experience gain is decent but I don’t know why you don’t have the option to level up friends instantly like in most Gacha games and if you want players to get god crystals for summons and costumes please make them easier to get and I don’t mean to nitpick about the summons but please raise the summon rates for friends because I’ve been doing many summons and I haven’t got a new friend in a while but regardless this is still a good game and I know the global version came out not too long ago so I can’t say much but if anyone can fix these please let me know thanks. 😉

Don’t be scared by the gacha

I originally played the JP version and was delighted that it was brought to global. First yes it’s a gacha, so if you can’t square with that you’re just getting angry over nothing. The gacha itself is mostly fair, you’ll still obtain plenty of rares and limited characters on F2P. Global actually grants far more free spins than JP too. Why you should play. Story. It’s pretty fun and the writers understand the franchise (as they should). Lots of events and challenges, the later you don’t really have to do but has some nice rewards. The bad: Global seems to want to be about two weeks offset from JP. This means a barrage of banners and no time to save if you are F2P so it becomes a game of “get lucky or drop some dosh.” The global team does try to be accommodating with some free spins at the least along with regular banner reruns. The good: There is a healthy discord community that will help you understand the depth of the battle system and take on hard content. The art is beautiful. Voice overs are by some of your favorite anime voice actors. Music is fantastic. Story is fun.

Coin Bug

The game is really fun. I’m glad that they’ve actually mad bosses that you have to strategize around for both the main story and events. Actually let’s me give my all. That and the arena has brought my attention to looking at my characters if I own them to know the weaknesses of the opponent versions. One issue has come up recently though where my coins diminish down to 200 for some odd reason. I’ve tried restarting the game but no matter what. Even if I collect coins from the box. It resets back down to 200.

Great art and music! So many friends!

I checked out this game because of the free Pomu Rainpuff Nijisanji EN cover and it's been really great so far. The gameplay seems like it has a lot of hidden depth but the music and art are so good! I love the story card art, so many different artists bring life to all of my favorite Gensokyo residents. I also really love how you can choose different voices and costumes! Being able to hear songs by a wide range of remixers including Ninjisanji livers like Pomu or old faves like Cool and Create make it worth checking out for any Touhou fan.

RNG IS ALL THAT MATTERS

To start, this is a genuinely good game; the only argument against this game is that it's a gacha game, which is true, but after 3 years, becomes really weak if it's still up and going strong. Oh, and also, it's not hard to be able to do a ten pull; just save up for any specific banners you want, but you might want to save up a LOT for banners. Not to mention the fact that the more recent friends that aren't L1 are either really strong, or better than the common L1 girlie. So yes, the game is easy, little to no VALID complaints.

A well-designed time waster

As an avid Touhou fan who started with the official shmup games first, this is a very casual game. It has all of my favorite characters, and good voice acting. The music choice and character portraits are pretty decent. However, the gameplay eventually gets very boring, especially when your friends (in-game term for playable characters) are really high level. But don't spend any money. It's not worth it. I say this even as an F2P.

Ok game

The game is fine, and the characters are nice. But the gacha has driven me to the point that I quit and I've played since global launch. There's constant Ultra Festival banners, which means for Exchange Points to get units for sure. You need 250 Exchange Points, which is 25 Multi Prayers, oh and they're 50 Seal Crystals a shot. You want units? Good luck, you get full multi prayers with nothing but Story Cards. What happened to normal 150 Exchange Points banners? 500 God Crystals for 50 Seal Crystals. No. I quit. Every unit on banners I pulled for was gotten on Exchange, pull prices are stupid. Gameplay is fine but I'm not returning to this, what a waste. Pay 2 Win with constant expensive banners.

More Team Slots Please

I really love this game and the host of characters it has is amazing, with new ones always around the corner. The gacha doesn’t feel too weighted to where you’ll never get a new character, and it’s even more fun as you progress. My only concern is that there’s only slots for 5 teams. I have so many more characters than that from playing so much, and I really want more team slots.

Great game but…

They should change the influence when players do more than one prayer. Theres no point drawing more than one prayer and risk losing seal crystals. Other games have done the same so i don’t see why LostWord cant do the same instead of punishing players for doing multiple prayers and receive a bad outcome. Update: The roulette is garbage. Kept getting rigged and only get 10 prayers. If this keeps up, ill definitely not recommend this game and stop playing 4—>3 stars Update ll: its gotten really bland lately. Doesnt feel like Touhou 3—>2 stars would not recommend

Good game, but has a few issues

I personally love this game and think it's fun, but recently, my game crashed and I could not enter back into the game. I deleted it, leading to me restarting the whole game. I am really torn about it, I spent a few dollars on this game from my other account. I'm trying to get the account back, but I don't remember my player ID. Please check yours so you don't end up like me 😅 Anyway, I hope this bug gets fixed.

Great but still needs work

The game is stunning with the graphics and visuals, and I love the fun dialog and fan music. But this comes at a price as the game keeps crashing for me and won’t let me play through levels or even upgrade my characters. My internet connection isn’t the problem, as I’ve played Magia Record and Food Fantasy and other games without a problem. While this game’s concept is fun and good, I feel this release is still in its infancy and needs some polishing.

Very good game

I have been playing this game for a month now and I have really good characters and ultra festival characters along wot( just festival characters I had a really good experience but I already finished the story campaign like in a week or two so I would recommend to work more on the story instead of the characters but good game love it u should consider giving it a try.

It's enjoyable but....

It only came out so I'm not gonna criticize it that much but my problem with this is that it takes such a long time to even unlock the enchancement option when some of the stages are hard to beat without leveling up your character. the gacha rates are fine! can't wait for flandre to get added in this version!

Opened my eyes

So, you see, I haven’t played an official Touhou game before as I have no type of PC or laptop. I was just getting into the franchise, when I saw it available on App Store. I saw a tweet on Twitter that had the game on the Play Store, so when I saw it here, I instantly downloaded it. It was boring, but it did reassure me. I feel, a lot more, cultured in the fandom now. Also it relieves my stress. That’s great.

Genuinely like it.

This plays like a Touhou inspired version of FGO, meaning surprisingly in-depth turn based mechanics . As a whale that likes the franchise, I also do not feel slighted like I do with other gachas. The ability to make up for dupes with in-game items is a godsend. If you are down with Touhou’s lore, chill vibes and comedy, and TONS of Touhou group collaborations (I.e. art, music, etc.). Then definitely give this gacha a go 👍

Games great!

I found about this game via an ad bout a week ago downloaded it and it was a lot of fun! The game doesn’t rely on spending money to get good, the story is great and the free rewards really help. The only thing I’m confused on is the max amount money you can have. I don’t understand why there is a money cap in the game. Other than that, the games really good! Highly recommend.

Game Currencies

I like the game, all I have is one TINY issue. The coins are a good currency and all, but the Prayer cost is a little much. I am pretty sure that anybody new that wants something from an event will be quite mad. It would be fair to at least lower the cost to 10,000 coins instead of 15,000. A tiny detail that would make the world of a difference.

Smaller Than It Looks

The game looks pretty, but that’s it. Nothing to do. Just play one level, the only difference being the enemies. This game is when you out all your money into visuals, but forget the actual game. If this is how the global version is treated, you might as well not make it at all and start gatekeeping whatever fanbase you have.

I’m a fiend for anything Touhou related.

The story actually uses the “multiple worlds” concept well. I love how you can see the description of each universe and how it diverges and connects to other worlds. I also love how each Touhou game in the main series is the A-type universe. The fact that the PC98 era is even mentioned at all is amazing to me.

Is a good game

I like it is entertaining, always putting different events and adding more characters. The only thing that I don’t like is that they always give me repeating characters. Right now they have the forever prayer and it’s been several days that appears repetitive characters; characters that I already have. And in the daily prayer they only give me cards; why they put many characters if it gives me only cards and repetitive characters that I already have.

I love this game so much, and amazing job with Marisa, I love her the most. There are two things that could make this better, if you could make an event or something for open world, and, where I have gotten, there are no boys. So it would nice to have those, other than that, it’s almost perfect. Keep up the good work!!! ❤️❤️🥴🥴🥴❤️

No “Friends” guaranteed

I’ve had this game for quite awhile, and I’ve spent tons of time working on getting the “friends” i want. Sadly, the acquisition rate of the friends is pathetically low, even with their “pick up” gacha. I’m not giving up, because i want two specific friends, but their rates are worthless.

Game is fine but!

Too tired if I have to hit again again and again the rematch button!! This is anti human, very very inconvenient, so unnecessary! If this game need a lot of farm, then please make a auto repeat battle bottom, I would like to sit in the office and drink coffee and watch the repeating battle, instead holding my phone 24/7 that would be great Also, please add more languages content, so players can chose wherever the language they spoken, makes life much easier

F2P friendly, great BGMs

You don’t need to spend money to complete all the missions and events so long as you play consistently! Just keep in mind you won’t be able to get every character but it’s not needed. I love the BGMs in this game too, especially love colored master spark’s remix by Tokyo Active NEETS. Probably my favorite touhou remix of all time.

Great game

This is just a fun game, I don’t get the 1 star reviews. Yeah, the content so far is a bit lacking, but there’s going to be more. I’m still able to enjoy this game without spending money and have all my friends at about level 50. Just put in a bit of time and enjoy!

Pull Costs

I have always enjoyed Touhou hence why I’m playing this. But I have to say, pull costs are insane. 50 with a money costs is overkill and 600?!? For the guaranteed friend? These should be 25 and 300 respectively. If you want to reduce how much you give to limit the overall amount of pulls a purchase package gives, fine, be stingy. But this is just ludicrous. Especially noting pity rates are unreachable unless you’re a whale.

Good but make god crystals and seal crystals easier

This game is good its just that we need to grind gc (god crystals) because like if you want a character, the thing im mad about is that you get 10- god crystals, like spend 5 trillion spirit points just to get 10 god crystals, 10?!?!

Fun game and really F2P friendly

I’m really enjoying this game so far and excited for other updates in the future. The re-roll system is fast and the rates for all the characters are the same. A very balanced gacha system and easy character building.

Really fun game since launch

I downloaded this game a couple days before it was scheduled to be released. I had little expectations and was not really interested but wanted to start a new game. Blew me out of the water. This game has so much potential and I really like this game. 🙂

Right off when I start the game to music is already touhou combined it suits it and the options and everything else worked amazingly to even the gameplay was gorgeous

I admit, at first glance I didn’t think much if this game but after playing I can’t seem to put it down. The cute characters, colorful graphics, interesting powers and storyline really captivate with the audience in mind. 5/5

Touhou Gacha!

So happy that a Touhou Project gacha finally came. It’s great and I love the new incidents. Good for new Touhou fans since it introduced characters with their names by the dialogue boxes. I look forward to the character line up growing. Can’t wait to see more!

your game is great!

i try to be there for many dev letters because of how phenomenal your game is! on one of my accounts, i left sakuya in the school for like a month and got her to level 53! never had any complaints about this game! also i enjoyed that every day for 7 days i got a character! flandre is my favorite character so it was enjoyed very much. also, the developers are so on top of fixing even the littlest of bugs! thanks for making touhou lostword!

Great but just one tiny problem.

I understand in the story the guest characters help teach the player, but I’d rather use my own to level her up. But overall, I’m having fun and see no other problems.

A Touhou game in every way at all.

Spent $40 in two days and zero progress after chapter 1 hard mode. It literally gives me the feeling of old Touhou games: time consuming and so dam hard. But this time the strategy is: get a job—spend time—get pay check—use it in the game. Wow, so capitalism!!

Amazing!!!!

This game is honestly well made. Not only that but the art for this game is outstanding!!! The characters are really pretty and it’s just really good. The gacha system is also well made and the rates aren’t too bad!
