Since the last update, I have noticed many, many bugs that were not there before, such as; - Unrealized P/L frozen. When I am in a position, Unrealized P/L stays frozen when I switch back and forth between apps on iPhone. For example, if I switch from Tradovate to Think or Swim then back to Tradovate, my Unrealized P/L will stay at the last number before I switched apps, every time. - Logging in. When faceID fails to recognize me, there is no button to press to retry faceID. I have to manually re-enter my password. (even though I selected the “remember my password” feature) - Logging in Part 2. Once I am able to login to my account, I have to press the 3 bar icon at the top left of the screen, press ‘Switch to Another Environment’, then press ‘Simulated Trading’, whereas before, once I pressed the ‘Sign In’ button after entering my password, the app would prompt me to either select ‘Live Trading’ or ‘Simulated Trading’. - Function bugs. For example, when switching between the Orders and Market tabs (or between any tabs), the app will frequently undo the last command. For example, if I am on the Market tab and switch to the Orders tab, the app will reverse this function, and take me back to the Markets tab, requiring me to do this process twice or sometimes even three times.
Honest review from a heavy daily user: not a great update, team. LOVE Tradovate mobile and have used it extensively. With all the bugs inherent in this current version, my only question is, why? It worked perfectly previous to this. This version is maddening: if you navigate away from the app, when you return, the app is now not updated and totally off in price and PnL. You must now completely quit the app and restart to get an accurate account of where you stand during a trade. And small details are now changed and not for the better: Enable Brackets tab on/off switch is now a grayed out color as opposed to the previous turquoise when you enabled it. Again, why? Those details make a big difference. I can only think the bugs of this version are because it’s supposed to be some amalgam of Tradovate and NinjaTrader mobile? Ugh. C’mon, team, you can do better. Huge fan and want to keep it that way. Why?
I’ve been trading for 3 years and this is the best platform that I’ve seen for beginners. I’ve always been the type to say “ I don’t do demo accounts” and because of that I lost so much money. Tradovate’s demo account is exactly the same as a real account, there’s no way you would know that your on a paper account while trading unless you see your account name that says demo. This is amazing, I have been on a demo account for a month now and it has totally changed my perception. Also, minimum margin for futures allows you to trade with more size with less money. This can be dangerous for newbies but if you paper trade first you can be sure your strategy works and make hella money once you go live. Totally recommend this broker for ES/MES futures!
I opened an account with Tradovate due to their low intraday margin requirements. However, I haven’t found any good benefits with this app or the broker. The app is advertised as “simple”, which is correct, it’s simple enough where you can accidentally press a button just once and open a position, next thing you know you’ve lost money in a second. The intraday margins are low, however it’s almost as if the exchange sees this low margin and the market hardly goes your direction, I can say this because I have another brokerage account and it does not function like this one. With low margins you have to close positions at the end of the day wether you’re in profit or not, and of course more often than not you’re in a loss. They also charge for every single thing, their commissions seem to be some of the highest, unless you sign up to their monthly membership.
This new update is horrendous. The app now periodically switches between different accounts even when the app is still open. None of my settings for the charts are ever saved now so you have to redo it every time you open a chart. You also need to search for each individual ticker every time because the dropdown menu for tickers is always empty. There are also banners that appear and block the buy/sell button. Even with notifications turned off, completely unnecessary banners appear with price updates for the ticker you are currently on even though you can clearly see the current price at the top of the screen, making them redundant. Whoever made this update clearly has never used the app. The app worked fine until this update and now I don't even want to use it. Thanks to whoever ruined this app!
Tradovate Repeatedly Crashes, potentially during a trade
As a beginner it’s a great platform. However, as a beginner you may have to occasionally reach out to the help desk. If you do and start typing out your question, unless you type perfectly, the app will crash if auto correct kicks in at any point. Like if you type a lower case “i” instead of the grammatically correct uppercase “I” and your phone auto corrects after you hit the space bar, the entire app crashes. The same is true for any autocorrection. Like if you’re typing the word “correct” too fast and type “corect” and press the space bar and it auto corrects to “correct” the entire app freezes and crashes. Super frustrating. Please fix this.
App locks up. Can’t add some tickers to market area. It crashes. Support says it could be my phone. It’s not. Other reviews say the same. Uninstall / reinstall does nothing. Settings revert to default for some areas each time you visit the app and this includes moving averages you setup. After the update this week, notification banners keep popping for everything. Very annoying! “Support” says to disable notifications. I have notifications disabled on phone and the app. They can’t be disabled. Others reported the same. I can’t get out of trades at times. Locks up. Lost $24,000 last week because of it. Account gone. I’m leaving Tradovate. Impossible to grow an account. They’re greedy.
Tradovate is by far the best trading platform I’ve used. I have traded using so many platforms, Thinkorswim, E-Trade, Weibull, to name but a few. I love Tradovate because it integrates easily with Tradingview. I don’t need to have multiple apps open. I use TradingView on my Mac and open a trading panel that’s fully integrated. Perfect set up and I love how they’re proactive about keeping up with latest tech unlike Thinkorswim which has not changed in decades!
FRAUD / SCAM!!!! False accounts are being used by the company FUTURES LIMITED on the TRADOVATE trading platform! You can simply deposit money, however you can no longer withdraw it! Most likely, all of the money was stolen immediately after deposit! After some time, you see that a trading operation you didn't make yourself is causing your trading account to balance to zero or even negative!!! I recently fell victim to fraud!!! I kept seeing good ratings on other people's reviews, came across Aberdeen Dyceip, and submitted my case to them as well; they accepted it right away. This morning, when I woke up to a credit alert, I realised that my lost money had been found.
Tradovate was bad before the most recent update, but this is just worse. How do you manage to make it worse with an update? The app has always been buggy, but it’s far worse now. The app logs me out every time I leave the app, and it doesn’t keep track of price accurately. I have to close the app and reopen and re-login each time just to update the price, and it also doesn’t save any of my settings. I guess really the only positive thing about the app is that is gives you the ability to place trades, everything else is very disappointing.
I heard this from several colleagues and have now experienced myself the delay and difficulties setting up an account. Its been 3 weeks and I keep getting additional verification questions a day or two after the previous questions and also after following the steps funding my account. I’m glad I only funded a small amount and would caution others to do the same. I use some of the biggest trading platforms available and never experienced this level of ineptitude. Once my account is setup I can hopefully change this review. Best of luck.
Currently I am trying to enter the trading market in futures. I did the 15 day demo and then it cut off. I tried setting up the sim which is overpriced for a demo for one but also now I need to pay for real time data. I have tried figuring out how to get real time data for Tradovate and have it also transfer to tradingview so I can use them in conjunction. The navigation is very difficult for a new person and also there are not clear explanations on how to navigate. Other than that Tradovate isn’t bad.
The app is very easy to use & relatively simple to create an account. My only complaint (which is significant) is the fact their bid & ask prices are not consistent with actual market price (example, BTC is trading at 30,000, Tradovate app says it is trading at 28,000). I regularly use TradingView for visual reference & application of indicators, but using this app has made the use of indicators useless, as the bid & asks are completely incorrect (compared to TradingView, Apple’s stock app, & e-trade). Overall, great interface but needs substantial internal improvements to actually work as a broker platform.
New update is freezing data flow when app is in background. Candles would not load on return to app!! I can still navigate around the app, but candles do not update. Randomly won’t find my accounts when after returning from background. Every time I switch apps then return to TDV, I can expect frozen candles or “no account” status even tho I’m logged in. I have to log out and log back in to fix, or relaunch app to fix frozen candles issue. Quite irritating!
The integration with TradingView is seamless. Great update with the buy/sell button. It used to be you had to buy or sell without looking at the chart while placing to order on your phone, however this has been remedy with the newest update. This is so much better than before.
The problem that I’m having is with charts. The version I just downloaded is stuck on 500 ticks. Then the indicators are locked Sma 14 etc. Unable to make changes to what I like to use. Example change chart to 4 range/ renko etc. I haven’t place any trades via mobile because of this.
If you’re only looking for a brokerage to place a trade through, it’s alright. However, the customer service(answering the phones/messaging system) is trash since Ninja Traders took over. Also, the charts have little to no use so I’d suggest using TradingView and linking it to Tradovate. The DOM is sub-par as well but it works. Lots of room of improvement; will update this review later on to give the Ninja team a chance of fixing these issues.
The app was great before the last big update when they added a dark mode and such. Now it constantly logs me out and I have to log in twice for me to actually be logged in. The app also lags and updates slow sometimes. Can’t really trust placing orders on the app these days with all the issues. Every single update that has been released recently doesn’t seem to fix the log in issue. I just need the app to work like it used to.
The new update has a push notification feature that cannot be disabled. It displays 3-5 messages per minute while you are in a trade. It is so distracting, you can’t focus on trading. According to tech support, this was an intentional addition by the development team to alert users about their trade. The information displayed covers news, price action, and many other details unnecessary to trading. Please fix this Tradovate. You are killing the user experience.
It a pretty smooth app. But has some drawbacks, brackets can only be set up to 24 ticks. That’s only $120 on the /NQ. I like to have at least a $200 stop loss and the fact that I have to adjust it manually after placing the order, is tedious to say the least. I also don’t like the automatic time frame, rather be able to select 1m, 5m, 1h, etc. Dark mode. Indicators. If they add and fix these things they got a 5 star app forsure.
Always have syncing problems. App doesn’t remember anymore whether I’m in Live or Demo when I exit the app, sometimes I’ll work in Demo and when I reopen the app it’s in Live again with my real money. Lost thousands after this update — app was nearly perfect before the update and now the chart freezes regularly.. constantly have to kill the app and re-open it again
This broker is super greedy and will keep liquidating you , can’t grow a small account before they greedy to liquidate you , every position I take with them gets liquidated regardless of my analysis. Very poor interface , worst mobile app in the industry keeps lagging. When you make deposit from bank it takes about 2 weeks to arrive into your account, This is the best way to loose your money rapidly with this greedy broker.
When will the wonky and Slippy chart navigating be fixed? Software is flawless on desktop but on mobile version… it’s another story. Even on iPad, it’s just crazy frustrating to use. I hope to see an update soon as I travel often and trading on mobile devices makes life so much easier.
Can’t use the app… If you have security and f2a it’ll ask you to confirm on gmail instead of the app, and if you confirm on gmail it takes you to a browser to verify your login. However after verifying your login because it was through a browser and not an app, you’ll get an error on the app when you try to login. Nothing will work and you’ll be stuck on an endless login error loop…
I’ve never had issues with this before until the recent update. Almost every time I close out of the app. I have to log in again. That’s incredibly annoying when you’re day trading and need to make quick decisions. Had a great experience for many months using this app before this recent update. Please fix and I will bump the rating.
Perfect app, but the new update got rid off the auto refresh feature. When navigating away from the app, then coming back to it, the chart used to auto refresh, not anymore! Disappointing that in this new era of technology, I have to manually make it refresh missing out hundreds of dollars.
Loving this app for futures trading. Only thing I hope they implement is a darker theme for the app on mobile devices. The dark theme they currently have is grey, not black. Black would look so much cleaner!
Ever since the last big update the app has sucked. Signs you out whenever you exit the app, and doesn’t show accounts the first time you sign back in. You could be in a position and Tradovate app won’t let you sign in for up to 3 minutes at a time, sometimes it takes even longer. Worst trading app by far, love the desktop site but this app is atrocious
I’ve used this app for months on my futures account and today wake up to see I can no longer change time frames on my chart. 3 minute is no longer available. As a primarily mobile trader this is brutal. Need a fix ASAP. The desktop version works well but no way to translate to mobile I guess. Please fix or I would have to leave TradeOvate
I have issues on my iPhone and tablet loading certain screens. I have to refresh a lot for the website to adjust and go to the next screen. Other then that it’s a good app.
When compared to other futures trading apps out there, this is garbage plain and simple. Navigating different charts, labeling, managing risk, etc….Is all a massive pain. Even the simple task of adding a limit order to a specific price is difficult for it. I’d stay far away from it, or simply trade on the desktop. But even Tradovates desktop app is pretty poor so I’d find a different broker altogether.
It seems like so many things changed on this app after the latest update. Very buggy. Pop up (often delayed) notifications over top of buy/sell buttons. I have 2 accounts and it changes after a short period of inactivity. Tradovate took a few steps backwards with this app update
I almost lost 2k because you have the buy button set automatically. This update isn’t good, and it’s way too buggy. Why does it switch between accounts after a while? Please fix this; Tradovate is literally the only good futures trading platform on mobile.
After I updated , it’s stuck every time. It kick me out and i have to log in many times per day. Graph is not moving. Too big letters . Pop up windows blocking. Last night i can’t log in my account and i lost $10,000. My account it’s locked . I ask help center. They said my it’s too many attempts to log in. Which is app’s fault.
They’ve updated a lot on this app but the one thing everyone has asked to be updated, the chart. No one has, or ever will ask to have a chart you can’t actually scroll back on and it only pinches smaller or larger. They’ve ignored this request for years and will continue doing so and for that I give 1 star and suggest everyone do the same.
Wow 🤩! They are the most reliable and trustworthy and understanding team ever. I’d never had any issues with them. Whosoever trade futures, I recommend Tradovate to them.
Please get rid of the limit of 5-6 accounts on mobile makes no sense. Why can’t we group trade still?? the whole point of a mobile app is to let us trade whenever not to limit us.. color scheme when enabling brackets should just go back to teal? It’s hard to tell when it’s such a light shade of purple.
Bought a funded account through my funded futures. Tried subscribing for real time market data on Tradovate but it doesn’t give me that option and it’s impossible to get in contact with support. Going to ask for a refund and switching over to ninja trader instead. Horrible experience I rate it 0/10. Wish I could give 0 stars
Let us group our accounts like on desktop and also make it so we don’t have to log in every time we go to another app and come back… i switch to tradingview app to chart and when i come back to tradovate for execution it makes me log in and select the account i want again
Not sure why it’s not a full feature app on iPad, it’s just a tiny DOM & some settings & prices. Why isn’t it the same as it is on my MacBook with the same layout and all the features? Weird.
My screen goes black while I’m in trades and I call support they just hang up and acknowledge they have issues but they don’t care. This in not a real platform for real trading this is a scam. Every last bit of it, they can make your screen go black whenever they want and it’s happened countless times to me and my friends… STAY AWAY
This app is horrible, and I can not say that enough, not only does it freeze up and making trades on here is just as worse, I made one and that was my last time. The only time I use the app is to check my p&l . Y’all should literally go back and rethink this. It’s to the point where I’m even looking for a new broker.
This app went from great to flat out awful with the last update. Defaults to the same account every time you open it even if you’ve been trading in a different one. The chart freezes constantly. Overall it’s just way less user friendly than it was.
I had no problems before with delays, and now the app wont load the candlesticks for minutes at a time. This didn't happen before I updated the app. It used to be simple and functional. This is what happens when devs decide we need an update every week
