Not worth it IMO
I’ll give it 3 stars for the concept being a cool idea and I did have high hopes for this but I changed my mind and deleted the app. Firstly I want to say that in the app with the things you’re able to customize is really cool, and I like the idea because it’s hard to find people with similar music taste. However the complaints I have are these: I know every app charges to just get themselves money in order to see who liked you but the pricing that is given is just absurd…. I would never pay that for an app. So at that point unless you have money to blow you won’t ever be able to see who likes you. Secondly not being able to filter the gender on the friends setting is so odd? Like what if I just wanted to make friends who are girls or like my boyfriend wanted friends who are guys… makes it unfair. You shouldn’t only be able to filter for the dating option and i’m not sure why that’s a thing. I had high hopes for this app, I did but with all those things taking into consideration it unfortunately isn’t worth it :/

Suggestion
Great app concept but I would suggest changing the way the match system works. Make it similar to hinge which will allow users to like one of the persons pictures and the person whos picture was liked has the option to match and start chart from there. Subscription would be better if likes that users can send were limited and a subscription lifts the like limitation until the subscription expires. Monthly Subscription could include boosting that is given every week with the unlimited likes limitation too and weekly subscription would just allow for like limit to be lifted. Just a suggestion but im currently paying for the app does not really feel like its moneys worth after viewing all my likes and accepting them it gets boring I want to be able to instantly be able to message a person if i have a subscription since they cant see their likes until they pay its non sense.

Lots of potential but good app regardless
So, I like the app, I did meet one girl from there and we had lots to talk about regarding music, from there, we talked on a semi personal level which was great. Musical similarities was a great ice breaker. I’ve been wanting an app that (kind of) matches you with people that have similar music taste. The app is good but can improve SO much. The premium (which I paid for) is not really worth it because you can’t go back if you accidentally disliked a profile. Another thing is not being able to filter sexual orientation, as a heterosexual man, I would like to see only women (absolutely nothing against gay I have tons of gay friends 🫶🏾), but from a dating perspective, it’s something that should be added. The potential is that if it’s advertised more, there would be more people in it in your general area. The layout of the app looks outdated although I don’t think it is, and I understand the app is still working on improvements.

Innovative Concept, But Pricing Hinders the Experience.
As a music enthusiast, I was intrigued by the unique concept of this dating app. Connecting with others based on shared music tastes sounded like a refreshing change from the usual swiping experience. However, my enthusiasm waned when I encountered the paywall. Hiding matches behind a paywall dampens the excitement. It’s like receiving a beautifully wrapped gift, only to find out you need to pay to open it. My Experience: As someone who appreciates music-based connections, I was thrilled when others matched with my musical tastes. But my excitement turned to disappointment when I realized I couldn’t explore those connections without paying. It felt like a missed opportunity. In the end, while the app’s concept shines, the hefty price tag dims its appeal. If the developers find a balance between creativity and affordability, they’ll strike a harmonious chord with users.

don’t have premium/unlimited so expensive?
This literally didn’t make sense why such a cool app would price their prices so high. I genuinely hate when apps try to charge more then even $8 for something like that a month. They actually expect $18-$20 for this app (for even just a month) that you can’t entirely use without the premium or unlimited (which just so happens to be separate, which is also weird to me, never seen that) because no one can see that you like them and you only get a limited amount of direct messages before they ask you for even more money somewhere else, WHICH IS $10 FOR ONLY 3 DIRECT MESSAGES. Are you actually kidding? Just the prices are way too outrageous, especially for someone tryna save my money but also for someone just trying to find friends. Friends don’t have money value, I don’t get why I’m paying enough money to cover an actual meal I could have at a restaurant to just make friends… its just sad. I really was excited for this app till I saw that 🤷

Tips for Turn up
Turn up is different and it has so much potential but it’s very weak. The matches are limited, there’s dead accounts and bots and it lacks further engagements. And that really makes it hard to enjoy. As a tip to turn up you guys should include interactive questions to profile overviews that people would like to know about the person that can be answered from typing or using voice to establish the fact their a real human. Don’t allow individuals who add nothing to their profiles to create a account unless they fill out their profile 100%. Add mini games Guess what type of person I am or guess what artists it look I like. Or even a game that tests you based on someone’s music profile. With more than just 4 questions like blind test but instead 15 to keep it engaging. We need more to balance the limited matches.

Alright, but there’s a few issues
First of all, I love the concept for this app. The blind tests are a cool feature too! However there’s a few things that need fixing. Messaging feels a little delayed, as in if I start typing too fast then it doesn’t read my inputs. Also, when I started the app to would prompt me every once in a while to like 10 profiles and it would give me feee premium for a short time. Eventually though, this stopped occurring. This means that I have many MANY unknown matches and no chance to see them. I know I could pay for the app but the prices are CRAZY high. Especially for an app like this with a smaller community. I wish I could get a few days of occasional free premium again, it really made me think about paying for it. Maybe it’s just me but it’s been months of not getting prompted.

Love the concept
Great concept people have been talking about a music based dating app forever, good swiping experience but the biggest downfall is that there just isn’t enough people although the quality of profiles is good. I generally found the people I was swiping on as a whole more similar to me than other dating apps. I’ve seen ads on instagram and that’s how I found out about it but something about the ads feels scam-y the only reason I was comfortable downloading was because the devs reply to 99% of the reviews so it seemed like they actually care. On the insta ads I would say focus more on “finding people with the same music taste” rather than “girls on other dating apps, the girls on our app” this review was maybe too long but I feel potential with the app.

THIS APP IS AWESOME. One problem: NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE.
I love this app. The concept of music-based matching is such a good idea, and it actually does work to show you more profiles of people you actually share common interests with. Also, while there are paid subscriptions, they aren’t nearly as necessary as they are on other apps. You can message people without spending any money, which is a great way to actually attract the attention of people you like. In fact, the only problem I have with it is the fact that *there aren’t near enough users*. Like, there’s only one or two people feasibly close enough to me that listen to the same stuff I do, and the music I like isn’t very obscure. So please - get this app. It is excellent.

it’s pretty good, but i have a suggestion
so i’ve been using turn up for about a week and honestly it’s pretty solid, i’ve made a few cool friends and i love the idea of how music is what connects us to people with a similar ear, all in all it’s a great app! however i wanted to see if maybe some where down the line a couple of new features could be added starting off with the option of voice chat or voice messages, now i love the communication but it would be nice to be able to hear and talk with someone before sending any personal information, not to mention the more in depth you feel with the person. also, i wanna touch on the security. i feel like a verification from the profiles would be a safe route to go. the scam and catfish profiles are about a third of the users on this app and although there is a report option for it, it would help decrease the number of scam or catfish accounts that are active in the app altogether. but besides those two things from my personal experience, this app has pretty good potential and i can see with a couple of more updates and added features it can very well be a top app

So far so good.
Looks like early to this app. It’s been fun so far exploring others music taste and chatting with those that have similar taste. I’ve not encountered as many bots as other dating apps which is good. I bought premium to try it out and so far it’s been worth it. Still it was fun to use without the premium services. I just enjoy having unlimited blind tests or whatever they’re called. I’m hoping this app takes off soon. If you’re planning on using this app, try to stick around. A recommendation: if you could hide profiles that have not been active in a while or send reminders to those who have not been active. It would just help keeping active people in rotation.

Can I make a request?
The “If you listen to this artist, we’re over” section needs to allow up to 20 artists AT LEAST 🤣🤣🤣 Edit: maybe not 20, but maybe 3? Idk more than one. As for ways to improve the app. I think there are a lot of filters I wish I could add. I am looking for something serious, so filtering by something like “looking for” and habits such as smoker/non-smoker. There’s a lot of factors that go into relationships besides purely the musical element. I really love that this is focussed on music but I think I should have the option to filter out certain matches if I have dealbreakers etc beyond music connections. Just an idea. Also if I can see only matches within a certain radius that would help tremendously.

Love the concept
I absolutely love the concept of this app! There’s absolutely nothing like it. I have met women who actually like similar music to me and that’s quite difficult on any other dating app. The reason it’s so difficult is because I listen to heavy metal and hard rock which seems to be quite niche. Some women on other sites won’t even date you because of it. They think it’s strange or something. The only negative is it seems that the dating pool is a lot smaller but that’s not the apps fault. People just don’t know about it. I feel like once people start to hear about it, this will be one of the more popular dating apps!

Actual Early Review
The app itself shows a lot of potential. I honestly enjoyed picking a lot of different songs that I enjoyed in life to represent myself. The only problem is that this app is still new. Not many people in my area at all. Legit 2. But the dating app itself isn’t filled with Bots yet so that’s also a plus. I would honestly recommend this to anyone, but realize it is still new and may take some time before it’s populated. If you just create and account and never delete it, your probably killing this app’s potential, so at least try to let your account stay alive a little so actual people can get matches or just delete your account instead of letting it rot.

Great but Glitchy
Love the concept and premise of this app! My only issue is that once you message a match or message anyone in general, your tabs for “matches”, “received” messages, and “sent” messages, go to the top of your phone and you can’t toggle between them. The only way to see them and toggle is when you get new likes on your profile and the top says you have a date. Then the tabs go lower on your screen and you can toggle. But once you view who liked you, the tabs again become inaccessible. Also, there’s no way to know if you have messages in the received folder unless you check it randomly when you can toggle.

I enjoy it
i really like the idea of this app and i LOVE the profile customization. it has like every song ever because it’s linked to ur music app. i love it too because it’s not like every other dating app, it’s music related and that’s honestly what i look for in a person. my only complaint is the premium stuff. i know most dating apps don’t let you see who liked you either but the price is kinda crazy. i don’t like also how you can only text 3 people everyday if you don’t have premium. i don’t know i think it’s annoying but the app also gives you ways to have premium for like a month for free and i really enjoy the app with premium.

Love the idea!
Great concept as far as dating apps go. One of the drawbacks for me are how small the current user base is. On the first day of having my account I’ve already managed to swipe through everyone in a 300 mile radius. Another thing I’m not to fond of is the blind test feature. I like making blind tests but the moment you’ve done all the tests that are available to you, you lose your ability to make more or manage your own tests. Very aggravating. Then there’s the “if you listen to this artist we’re over” section of your profile. I’d really like to see that number bumped to at least 2-3 artists. I would really like to see this app flourish and thrive among all the other dating apps.

Very cool concept
Very cool concept but it’s telling me I’ve seen everyone in a 800 miles radius. But there’s 3 people that liked me and obviously isn’t true because I’ve swiped through them all. Seems like there’s lots of bugs to fix. Songs to update so they can get played on profiles. Swiping and a new person not coming up. Lots of stuff. The entire concept of the app is very awesome though and hopefully these things get fixed. But when I’ve swiped through everyone in a 800 mile radius and there’s people that I can’t see that liked me, doesn’t seem genuine and they just want me to spend money on the premium app. Who knows though, maybe it’s a bug.

Interface and good concept
First off, I really like the idea of this app and it has many cool features to it. The biggest issue I had was the buttons below profiles were not explained at all. We all know what the heart and X does, but what about the others? There is no guidance on this app but I guess you can go and try every button hoping it doesn’t do something you don’t want it to. Obviously another issue was a low count of users, but that’s to be expected with something that with make your dating pool much smaller. If you live in a small city or anything less, be prepared to match with people no less than 45 miles away.

I LOVE
As someone who genuinely has zero friends but a girlfriend, this is great. music is my life and always has been and i love connecting with people over the music that has caught my attention. i am making friends and it’s super fun!! i hope to make more and get to know then better as i show off my music taste and expand it. this app is great to be ostentatious about the kinds of music you like and show off how many song you know that not a lot of other people know, has people asking questions and it’s fun to share your love for music with others.

Good concept but needs work
This app is a great concept but it needs work. It seems like i run out of people to swipe on too quickly. It says i have multiple likes, but when i look at the page to swipe on people no one shows up. It always tells me to widen my filters. So i widen my filters a little and it still shows me no one. How can i have multiple likes but no one to swipe on. That being said its a good concept. One of the things i like is finding people that have similar music taste to me. Music is always a good conversation starter for me, so having a app that matches you based on music preferences is a great concept

This app rocks!
I saw an add for this app and immediately downloaded it. I love music and music is a good way for people to connect so I thought the idea behind this app was great. I was impressed by the cool features including the music test because it helps you connect with people while also discovering new music. I’ve already met a few people on the app. The only issue I have is I wish more people used the app, I’ve already told people I know to download it and told them to tell others. Overall really cool concept and great app!

Never Even Worked
I downloaded the app, logged in, did everything until it got to the picture portion of logging in. I selected the photos I was alright with them having access too but it wouldnt let me pick any picture. It kept saying to change my picture settings, which I did multiple times but it never worked on app. The error message just kept showing up. I deleted the app hoping it was just an issue with my phone but when I redownloaded it it wouldnt get past the sign up sheet. It was just loading for minutes, no matter how many times I tried it wouldnt do anything else. I had to have deleted it and retried it at least 3 times and it never worked. Instant delete. If it worked it couldve been a really cool app.

FOUND MY PARTNER! ❤️‍🔥
Best app I’ve ever used! Great place to find friends, loads of amazing individuals. Lots of concert goers. Wide variety of music tastes. Great potential to find your further spouse, BUT, you have to be mature and willing to travel. Fat chance you’ll ever find your future in your neighbors backyard. I traveled 700 miles for my partner. Met loads of great people, made lots of friends, and had amazing music related conversations. Best to use for finding friends. If you go into it with dating in mind you’ll never find anyone. Find a best friend before a partner. 🖤

Incredible Concept But Lacking
The app by far has the best concept when it comes to dating, I mean the idea of connecting people through music is genius. However, the app is so buggy and unstable right now that I unfortunately couldn’t recommend it to anyone in it’s current state. The like system is just straight up not working, you won’t be able to find matches regardless of your settings or if you reset your likes or not. They really need to fix this, because it has the potential to be more popular than Tinder, but the main feature doesn’t even work in properly.

I Highly recommended!!
So I met my boyfriend on here we’ve been going out for a couple of months thanks to this app, yes it’s a little outdated and glitches here and there but the music quizzes and top artists in common really pulled us together such great features, and now things are great i’ve honestly never been happier I literally met my soulmate and since we have the same taste in music (nu-metal) as soon as we matched we never stopped talking to this day! This app really works at least it did for me, give it a chance!

Good overall UI and met a lot of likeminded people
I went into it thinking I would just meet bot after bot like other apps but much to my surprise I’ve only met real people who actually share the same musical taste as me! meeting people to go to concerts with, jam together with other musicians and even meeting a couple females for a night out. Great app I’d highly recommend for anyone who hasn’t had luck on any of the other sites this one has given me nothing but good people and great times. 10/10

Awesome App!
So far this app is awesome. Have met some great people and have had some very interesting conversations. It’s nice to find people where you immediately have something in common— music! I have made both local friends and long distance friends. I really like that there is a dating option and friend option and the people I have met on the friend side are ACTUALLY looking for friends, not to be creepy unlike other apps I’ve tried. Overall the app is great and I highly recommend!

More likely to swipe right than left.
I have Read & do agree with some of the reviews, but so far it’s not a bad app, I would recommend like the others of price reduction or some form of in app currency you can earn in order to see the likes you receive, like visiting each day gives you a token & to view a like is like 10 tokens or something, other idea that would be recommended is some form of beginners communication, like when you match with someone you can directly message them & they you to converse, just some thoughts but using the app to give it a shot.

Great concept but needs improvement
It’s great you can meet people with the same musical interests as yourself, especially as someone who loves music more than the average person. But I do wish the app would only show other people your profile if they are within the date range you specify. It’s a bit odd that I’m receiving messages from people 10-15 years younger than me. I would prefer to only receive messages from people in the +5/-5 range I have set up. I know this limits potential matches and the user base is already small but it would be nice to have this as a setting.

More genre & filter options
So I think that it would be really helpful if more genres were added because I accidentally deleted Dark Trap for example and I can’t get it back now. It would also be nice to have the option to filter out the people that are already taken. I’ve seen it in descriptions and profile pics, so there should be a way for the algorithm to recognize that and give me the option to only look for singles. Other than that, I don’t really have any other issues with it so far.

Mostly heavy metal guys
I’m a huge music fan and I go out to a lot of shows. I was excited about this app, but quickly disappointed when I realized the majority of men on here are only into heavy metal. There are exceptions, and some of the guys mention other genres, but the preponderance of profiles are metalheads. Also, the app shows you distance but not location for the people you’re looking at and there’s very little other information besides their musical tastes. I think the app is a great idea, but it needs to have some more traditional dating app features included.

Super promising!!
I never write reviews, but I really wanted to after using this app. The concept is very simple and straight forward, but the format of the app is incredibly refreshing! The blind test adds an aspect that I can’t imagine any other dating app has, and it give you something else to do other than just swiping left or right. There are a few glitchy moments sometimes with drop down menus not readjusting as they populate with search results, and of course there are only a few people using it, but I hope this takes off!

I literally asked the universe for a dating app that matched people by their music taste. This app works much like other dating apps for swiping and liking. Pay premium for added features. Thank you to the developers for this app although I met my rave bae for life I will definitely tell others about this app. I love how it shows on the profile. Only thing is I wish I could change the first song that shows in the profile first to one of my choosing.

Turn Up Review!
Such a fun app where you can meet new people from different places! I love how you meet up with music tastes, as even if you don’t necessarily have the same taste, you can learn something from other people, maybe even a few different songs from different genres. MOST of the people are nice on here, and I love that most people have humor. It’s quite nice, with the delete or block this match buttons, just in case if someone is..a red flag.

Hard to even match or even make friends
Unlike the other other well known apps it’s a lot harder to make friends in this app. Since you have to pay to see the profiles unlike hinge or bumble where you can see a few of them, on this app you have to pay to get matched, so if your not interested in paying you might want to use another app. I liked the concept of finding people with similar music interests, but this app still needs a bit of help, maybe this is something to come back to in the future…

Good idea, but nobody’s on it.
I think the idea of the app is great but man if the only people on it aren’t all 300 miles away from me. That and I don’t really get matches of people with a taste close to mine. I don’t think my taste is that niche, but this app seems to think so cause I have about 30 songs from one band in my track list and I have not seen the band on one single other profile. Maybe if the marketing was a little stronger it would see more use, but I know it’s hard to compete with the big ones like tinder. Not impossible, but hard.

Cool app, but a few “bugs”?
So far, it’s a pretty cool app, and I’ve talked to a few interesting people. However, other than the issues that I’ve seen brought up a lot (i.e. the premium pricing), I’ve noticed something weird. There are some profiles that if I try to open them, the app freezes on a black screen that has the back button available, but said button doesn’t work. Then, even if you fully close out the app and wait a few minutes, then try again to view the same profile, the same issue occurs. I would really like to be able to view a profile to see their music taste, which is the whole premise of the app, but I can’t do that for multiple profiles, so that’s definitely an issue that I don’t know if other people are having. I’ve tried just using data, I’ve tried just using wifi, nothing fixes this issue.

This app has so much potential….
I have wasted so many hours on dating apps trying to find those that have (somewhat) similar music tase, had high hopes but sadly I still think it’s in that irrelevance stage of: People joining, Set up profile, swiping a few times, then checking it maybe once every few months. It just needs more traffic/active users to really pump it to the next level and perhaps some more elements that keep people engaged and active on there.

Great concept. Barely anyone on this thing.
I actually purchased the subscription to get the full experience, so I’m not complaining about having to pay or anything. Just barely anyone on here. Needs more parameters and more personal information. Just because someone likes the same music as me doesn’t mean that they see the world as I do. Hope I’m not still in the dating app world in a couple of years, but that’s probably when this will end up being something cool . Deleted my account early. tired of watching the wheel spin with no more options for potential people to meet.

Most enjoyable dating app I’ve used so far
Honestly this app is fantastic and has a ton of potential. The more people that take the leap from popular apps like Bumble and Tinder to this the better imo. The app isn’t perfect but its a great and fun concept for a dating/meeting app especially for people who love music! One suggestion i would make is maybe add more questions to the profile editor. Possibly make it to where you can choose from a number of different questions to add to your profile.

Likes don’t appear in swipe feed
I have swiped right/sent likes, but I can tell from the blurred out Likes I’ve received that these people haven’t appeared in the swipe feed. This is despite the fact that I’ve run out of profiles to swipe on (i.e. I have 0 profiles left to swip on despot having outstanding likes of profiles I’ve never seen). I get this app is probably still in an early stage, but the high price tag and impossibility of “naturally” seeing these likes via the swipe feed is frustrating. That said, still giving 2 stars because the premise of this app is something I’ve wanted for a long time.

Good concept but poor execution
Maybe it just needs an app update. But you almost never pair with potential matches with the same artist picks or genres as you. If you want to look you would have to look deeper into the "Music search" section for people with similar music tastes as you. Nevertheless , they don't show up on the main page which reduces the chances for a match. I would like it if the app could pair you with people as the same/similar genres as you. If I like Hip-hop, why would I gravitate towards metal musically?

No free trial and pretty useless
You can’t do much of anything unless you pay. I’m fine with that but you can’t tell if it’s worth the money before committing. Anything worthwhile is locked down. I allegedly received 30 likes but can’t see what any of those people look like are what their interests are. They could be bots or scammers. I really don’t want to pay for that big reveal. Even a 24-hour trial would be fair. Good concept but it comes off like the app makers are just sticking subscribers for a month or two while they fumble around the app before realizing it’s trash and canceling.

I’m losing faith in this one.
This app has been out for nearly a year and I haven’t noticed any improvement. Maybe it’s a lack of users? The problem with Turn Up is that it’s functioning on the same principles as the mega app, Tinder, despite being an underdog. I mean specifically, you get no real assistance to meet or gain matches unless you pay for the premium which is ridiculous when users provided for you are so variable in distance from you as well as age difference. These are people on that app that like good music, sure, but good luck actually meeting anybody unless you cough up your dollars.

has potential
the app could be really great if you had more access to features of the app, everything about it is pretty spot on for music lovers except it’s not very functional in the way that you can’t even see who likes your profile without paying money. Not even like a reasonable amount though, nearly $20 to use the main function of the app? thats where it goes downhill, could’ve been great though if you could just see who even likes you.

This is what dating apps should try to be like
This app is great for finding minded individuals that have similar music taste as you. I think dating apps should take an approach like this one because it matches you with people that you know you already have something in common with. This allows for conversations to occur more naturally and for them to sound more genuine. My only complaint is that I wish there were more people on the app especially in my area.

Does Not Work
Literally the within the first 5 seconds of downloading i was already experiencing bugs. I can’t even make an account because apparently it just doesn’t work right now. Every time i try to select my gender the screen goes white and no matter what i do every time i reopen the app it takes me to the same place. It’s pretty much broken for me now since there isn’t even a go back button on the app. I can’t even uninstall because they thought it’d be a great idea to just save all the previous info so i’m stuck on the account creation screen ,now making it impossible for me to ever make an account.
