United Community Bank
Everything is all in one place which makes banking faster. During my twenty three years in the U.S. Navy I lived in many different cities and had to switch banks many times. The United Community Bank has by far been the best. I have needed a personal loan five times since I became a member of UCB. And one mortgage loan. The ease of which I was approved for everything amazed me. And so does the way everyone has been so friendly and helpful. Especially Donna Baxter. Hers was the first face I saw the day I came there when I was looking for a bank. She greeted me smiled and asked how she could help me. She has helped me with all my banking since that day. The second day I came in she still remembered my name. Donna, all the cashiers, and everyone else I have come in contact with has made banking enjoyable for myself and my wife. I never thought that that was possible. All the other banks I have been associated with were like working with androids instead of humans.

App?
I’m still old school and I’m not sure that what I have is the App but I do like what I have on my phone (I think what I have is online banking??) ….. the access to look at my accounts at any time….. it’s a great feature to have for finding a check I may have forgotten to write down and to check my balances and direct deposits and bank drafts and to transfer from one account to another…….. NO App will every replace true in person personal banking…….. I do hope United Community will remain a small community bank …… to have removed the word Bank from the name is strange…… since United Community is the name now does that mean it’s not going to be a bank? If what I have is the App it’s good….. but nothing will replace true people in a Banking setting…….

Bank app review
Everything great only one or two things I’d change. I don’t know my account number and routing number, that would be awesome to be able to find here instead of calling bank or trying to find where I wrote it down 5 years ago. And the delay opening it since the update. I got so used to being able to click the check account button that now the update has moved everything down the page and I have to wait a few extra seconds to load or I’ll end up in the ad. (Oh the troubles of being spoiled with technology) Again everything is great!

Can’t control cards or report fraud. Changing banks.
I got a text about a fraudulent charge. I confirmed I did not recognize the charge. They responded with “call fraud dept at this number immediately”. It was a third party that couldn’t help at all. I have 3 accounts and found another unknown charge in another account, which is a joint account. I told them there was a $300 charge in this other account and they said they can only go by debit card number and to call the bank tomorrow. Completely useless app and after hours service. This is the second time out UCB accounts have been compromised. It took a month to get our $1k back the first time. Meanwhile, I checked my Wells Fargo app, and I could have taken care of everything through the app without having to call anyone: Turn card on or off, Dispute a transaction. There isn’t even a way to report a fraudulent charge on full access website. We’re closing all 3 accounts with them.

Not user friendly and design is poor
It gets the job done, but I do not like it. Many strange layout issues that make it look old and sketchy, which is not what you want with an app you trust your money to. The image of their logo at the top isn't even a vector image so it looks pixilated and blurry, and unprofessional. This bank bought the Aquesta Bank that my family was previously using, a smaller bank that had an amazing app that was modern-looking, had many user friendly options (like adding notes to their transactions and a dark mode), and made finding information and transfering money very easy. Switching to this app, after the transition from Aquesta, I was VERY disappointed. I would expect a bigger bank to have a better app, not the worst one I've used. United Community Bank should hire whoever created Aquesta's banking app to fix this one and its multitude of issues.

Ease of accessing my accounts
I’ve been a customer of United Community Bank since 1995, first in North Carolina and for the past six years ,in South Carolina . The mobile app has been extremely helpful to me in helping me keep a daily check on my accounts,and ensuring that ,not only do I have the adequate amount of money in each account, but also that I can keep a vigilant eye on any possible fraudulent transactions by hackers of my bank card. That has proven necessary on several occasions, where I’ve had to close the account temporarily and obtain a new card. So ,thank you very much to UCBI for your helpful services!

Love UC Bank!
I love the ability to take a picture of my check and deposit it that way. Thank you. When Madison Bank first became United Community, I was disappointed that the “personal touch” seemed to have been lost. When calling, I had gotten a recording instead of a person. In addition, often after leaving a message, I did not get a call back until 1-2 days later. The abbreviated bank hours are not convenient either. HOWEVER, now that United Community Bank has Raquel Smith as their manager, the PERSONAL TOUCH IS BACK! It’s much easier to be connected to a person rather than an automated. Her staff is very professional and knowledgeable.

Improvements
I love this app it’s very convenient to check on my bank account the only thing that I wish that I could do is somehow check off the ones that I have seen and compare to my receipts or highlight The ones that I have seen after comparing them to my receipt this would help a lot of your customers and especially some of the elderly customers and help prevent fraud if people can compare them to their receipts and check them off once the people have seen it and clicked on it to doublecheck everything I have it highlighted or have it in bold The convenient way would probably have a check box in front that way it leaves it up to the customer to check it or not and gives them time to compare it to the checkbook

I have been a customer for over eight years years. I was self employed for twenty one years rite outside of Atlanta. There I used two banks and didn’t get the quality of service that I do now. I only have one issue with United Community Bank,that is if I write someone a check and they don't have a account with United Community Bank,they are charged a fee for accepting my check and I don’t feel that is rite. That’s the only issue I have. The people are the most helpful people I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with and they make me feel like family

Very user friendly
I started this app after a job change and began to be paid weekly. I needed a way to “photo-deposit” since the new job didn’t offer direct deposit. Did have some difficulty establishing it, but had a helpful UCB staff member assist me in person. I’ve used this app for just over 6 months. Recently, it did freeze up and I had to close it and reboot it. But we’ve all had minor problems with our otherwise helpful apps. I’m overall pleased with the app, and remember that the UCB staff is always there to assist us. They are what makes this bank so great.

If you have a hard time finding a good bank
If your like me and find it difficult picking out a bank you like and trust than let me tell you about United Community Bank l would not trade them for any other bank no matter what they are so kind but what matters to me if how much they care about you and your banking. They have saved me several times and they will stay with you until your happy. I made some errors and realized it and l was in a panic .. Yes l am a worry wart and worry over nothing. I promise you will love and trust them just as much as l do!! Thank You United Community Bank !!

Mostly good
I’ve banked with everyone in town more than once, something changes and I get annoyed and I’ll move on to someone else. UCB is a good bank that I will likely always have an account with. One big thing that needs fixing is if I want my balance to reflect my deposit in real time I have to do it in person. I want my mobile deposits to reflect on my account immediately, not overnight which won’t appear until the next day. No reason this shouldn’t be possible; the bank is getting the same image of the check regardless of the source whether it be the tellers scanner, my phone camera, or an ATM’s camera.

Great Tool!
This app makes keeping track of my finances at United Community Bank an easy process. All my accounts are right here. United Community Bank has great service and this app is a reflection of their commitment to service to their account holders. I’ve been an account holder with United Community Bank for more than a decade. I have used their phone apps from the time they were introduced and I have gone through the upgrades and changes. They keep getting better and better. This app is stable, well organized, and is a great asset! I would definitely recommend this app and United Community Bank.

Slow reaction time
If I could put a negative star .....i would! I use my card and sometimes it takes 4 to 5 days for everything to clear or even show up! Not a good mobile app at all! My mom will transfer money to or from my account and it takes DAYS to show up, much less clear from my balance!!! Sometimes, the delay in transactions will put my account in the minus when I KNOW that the money is in there! If I had another bank to transfer to immediately, I'd do it! You can't get anybody on the phone to fix problems, and I've even had to go to a different ATM SEVERAL times to pull my weekly pay out of my account!!! Not happy with the service of this bank OR atm's! Much disappointment in the delayed reaction time of the transactions that are associated with my account!!!!!

Banking app review
I love my banking app. It is very convenient and security with UCBI has always been excellent. The only complaint I have is the low $$ amount allowed for deposits through the app. The closest UCBI since I moved is 40 minutes away. It is very inconvenient to drive that distance just to deposit a check. Otherwise I love my bank. All of the staff at every location I have dealt with has always been so kind, helpful and considerate, even calls made to the corporate location. Especially the Peachtree City and Fayetteville locations. I won’t change my bank because of that.

Use the app before you “update” it..
You recently changed the app so that when the home screen is loading, for (more than a second), the “accounts” link is shown, by the time I get to the point that I’m touching the link to see the recently cleared transactions, the home page has inserted another banner that pushes the “accounts” links down and replaces it with some other web page link. It then asks me if I want to leave the app. (Which I have to then cancel so I can go into my recent transactions.) Stop trying to sell me another service if I already use your services.. make it easy for me to find the other options, but don’t throw them in my face every time I open the app.

Convenient, easy to navigate, secure, totally customizable.
The application is very well designed. Easy to navigate to the desired destination. Secure site with customizable security settings. Such a convenience in today’s mobile world. Can’t imagine having to stop and login on a pc and even less convenient trying to find a branch or ATM for your banking needs. Absolutely love the banking policies of this bank. Which almost always place security of your monetary assets and the customers needs first. In a word, Thoughtful.

Website Review
I believe there is a lot of room for improvement. For one thing on the Bill Pay section it would be nice to have a section to add a NOTE to your payment like the blank on a check where it says “For”. For instance, if i pay my house payment too early to Bank of America they automatically assume it is an additional principal payment instead of my next month’s payment! Ridiculous, but recently created a problem. I believe the lettering could be bolder making it easier to read for older eyes. A few other improvements would be nice but at the moment this is what immediately comes to mind.

Bill pay ebill feature is a time saver
I love the bill pay feature that allows setting up bills to be automatically scheduled for payment, even my credit card and utility bills that aren’t the same amount every month. Saves me a lot of time and never a missed or late payment while still leaving me in total control. I moved from a bigger bank because their bill pay service was much more complicated.

Mobile Bill Pay: A Step Backwards
The latest revision of bill pay occurred a number of months ago. I use the app daily. The revision makes bill payment very difficult and utilization of this portion of the app almost useless. Bill payment is no longer intuitive. Identifying the vendor is no longer alphabetical. Upcoming payments are difficult to find separate from previous payments. Editing a payment is impossible. The “Done” function locks up bill payment and you must close this portion of the app and reopen it. After taking with bank representatives, it was noted that the web version of online bill payment had not changed. PLEASE UPDATE the app and make the bill payment potion useable!

SECOND TO NONE.
I have always loved the customer service! I've been a customer locally and out of state, and I couldn't ask for better treatment from this branch. The employees at the local branch I visit, will even help me with questions I have about my account over the phone at any time they are open. I have always had the greatest customer care from them all. I truly have never had such great service anywhere else as I have at the United Community Bank in Newland, NC. Thank you, ALL of you are greatly appreciated!!

I have used this app for over a year now and not one time has it ever give me any trouble it has always brought up my account with no glitches and no hesitation I check it every day because having this app also saved me from bank fraud someone had stole my debit card number and was using it in Colorado because of this app I knew it happened almost immediately on top of that United Community Bank made it right so it’s great all the way around thank y’all in this app is great

Excellent user friendly app!!
This app is always easy to use. I check my account daily. It’s fast and very easy to use. Thank you also for the top notch customer service at all locations. Especially when I walk into my neighborhood bank. Always welcomed with a friendly smile. Also Tracy Guise at the Ellijay location is my go to every time I have any questions. She’s very knowledgeable and always goes above and beyond. She deserves some kind of incentive. In my opinion. Thank you United community bank.

Love this, best bank app I have used to this time. And the help center is second to none. I have been with this bank for years and I have always been treated like the most important customer. I like the fact that when I started banking here, this was a true community bank. Small bank feel, big bank tech
Love the UCBI app! It lets me check all my accounts, mobile deposit, pay bills, etc. on the go. UCB has done a great job of making improvements and updates since launch. A former BOA customer, I was definitely used to high tech options, but I was willing to give that up for better customer service. With UCB, I don’t have to! Great, personal service plus solid technology! So happy I switched.

New app - don’t like changes
I do NOT like the new app for bill pay. In the previous version, the account balance was easily available to view during the bill paying process so I knew how much money I had and how much I could use for paying bills. Now, that feature has ‘gone away’. I contacted support in the past and was told to use the website and I will get the “old version” of bill pay. I have done that but it is much more time consuming for the user. I actually switched to UCB because of the features you have in your original bill pay app. I’m disappointed for sure!

Easy to use
This app for United Community Bank is easy to use. Not only does it maintain a ledger of all the transactions in your account it also allows transactions to be labeled as a type of transaction: medical is broken down into doctors fees, prescriptions, hospital charges, dental and several more. It is easy to add a transaction category or type of purchase. It will see how the previous transactions to the payee have been categorized and automatically categorize it’s the previous transaction was.

One issue
one issue I have with the app is that when I deposit a check electronically it takes several days to appear on the mobile banking app I could not transfer funds from ucbi to an external bank. I followed the directions but would not work. I was told my local branch-Oakwood-would help but they could not help. I am still unable to transfer money to external bank. Also could not put my wife as a signer on my checking account virtually. We are out of state and cannot come in the local bank to do this.

Reason I switched banks
I was at a larger bank for many years. I was satisfied with the service and app from the bank. After a merger with another large bank they changed names and apps. I didn’t like the new app and even our kids complained about it. In today’s world banking is mostly online. If you app isn’t good your in trouble. UCB’s bank is user friendly and so is their staff. Don’t change a thing.

Every person at my particular branch here are more than helpful. They are amazing! The first young woman I had set an appointment with did everything I needed and asked for and beyond. I no have a Safe Deposit Box as well as a nice Savings and Checking Account! I has been a pleasure to do business with them and I am checked on frequently. United Community app
I have been with United Community for a very long time. All tellers are very friendly. They greet you when you come in the door most of them know your name. They’re able to take care of any problems or concern that you have you don’t have to see just one person every time you go because they all can take care of your situation. I always recommend them.

New update
I have 4-5 accounts with this bank but the app as been messed up every time I log into my account the when I am scrolling up and down to navigate to my accounts the order of the account changes randomly which is annoying you have to be very careful about where you touch .. once logged into the account . Need to fix it . Once I rearrange the order of my accounts the way I want it .. it should be locked until I want to change it . Please fix that . Thanks

Would be 5 stars with Zelle
I like this Bank and our ability to do business online, however, I have to have an account at another bank because I frequently use Zelle to send and receive funds. I have moved all accounts to United Community Bank except one in Arizona that allows Zelle. I very much appreciate the good service and helpful employees at our local branch in Tellico Village. Yeah. Bank now has Zelle!

Friendly App.
Easier to use (user friendly). “Bill Pay” can be confusing and difficult to use. I’m learning how to use it. It is difficult to use if you do not pay close attention when in “Bill Pay”. If I pay a bill from “ my” checking account, you have to approve/designate “which “ account. I did assume if I am in my account a bill would be paid by “my” account. Wrong & wrong. You/I have to pay close attention to the account it is to be withdrawn from! Pay attention.

United Community Bank App
I personally absolutely love this bank and this app. I’m able to clearly view all my different accounts within the bank and they are very easy to manage. Everything is extremely convenient to use and works the way it’s supposed to. I couldn’t see ever using any other bank. I have no issues whatsoever with this bank or their app.

Recent update made it much much less convenient
A recent update took away the “pay bills“ from the front of the main menu and also changed the pay bill screen completely. In the past it was easy to get into and it would actually show you the balance that you had do for your bills. no longer does that. If you are not getting a paper bill or notices directly from your biller, now you don’t have any idea how much to pay the bill pay system on this app. It makes it much less convenient.

Multiple accounts
I love that I can access my personal account and my business account from anywhere. Only thing that I would like to see added is not just a posted date but also the actual date and time of when that transaction originally occurred. Other than than that I really love this app and this bank!!

I have very positive experiences with the tellers and with Jennifer and Rebecca. They are very helpful and nice. They do not mind in helping me in any matter. I love having my bank’s statements on line. I can check anytime my accounts. It is a wonderful! It is nice to be able to check your accounts at anytime! Love the app! Dislike new update
Summer of 2024, app will be better, better pay. You can’t even select bill pay from the main screen. They took something simple and added unnecessary steps. It didn’t need to be updated and worked perfectly fine. You could sign in, select pay, see immediately the last payment and select for payment. Put it back on the sign in page. The update has not proven to be better. Always fixing what’s not broke.

The app it’s self I also love the way it’s set up
But there is an issue with app staying open and active to the user. The user or at least in my own experience has had countless issues with opening the app and actually being as to use it at that time I need it. Honestly, the app is active and available for use 80% of the time which is okay but for a user like my self I spend the majority of my time using the app not the online website but hey that's just me and my own personal opinion whether that's your preference or just mine.

Unable to deposit checks via the app as easy.
In the last couple of weeks when I try to deposit a check on the app toggling different directions is very backwards with the camera on. Also it always has an issue with the rear view of the check and I try multiple different ways to do it and it never wants to let me deposit the check. But if I do more than one check at a time, the first one usually works flawlessly, but the ones after the first one are unable to deposit.

Love this app!
I had a similar app many years ago but they stopped updating, then just disappeared along with all my scheduled bills and data! I got this app to replace it. Now I’m cruising with no sneaky bills surprising me. I can budget and plan! It’s a necessity when you live paycheck to paycheck. I’ve been using it for years now and it does the job perfectly! Thanks! And please never leave me!

Phone deposit becoming a POJ
I used to be able to deposit checks via my phone with no problems, now every time I try I get a message the RDI or whatever it’s called is unavailable. I’ve even deleted/reinstalled with no luck. Update a few weeks later, the RDC, (Remote Deposit Capture) not RDI, is still not available when trying to deposit a check. The message reads: A problem has occurred with the Remote Deposit Capture Adapter. It also fails on our iPad as well as iPhone so it’s not a device problem. The only reason I loaded the app was for the deposit feature but it may be deleted soon. Update, phone deposit finally works. I’ve upgraded my rating because of it. Keeping my fingers crossed for long term success.

Simple review
Great app. Easy to use, very straightforward. Easily accessed and has good security. It does it’s job and does it with a non-offensive aesthetic and that’s really what it needs to do to earn 5 stars in my opinion. Important Note! When setting up your online banking, you will need to have an actual assistant help you at your nearest location. Which really isn’t a big deal. So! 5/5. 👍🏻

Great app for banking
I’ve been using this app for almost 5 years now and it’s been great. The mobile deposit is great when I don’t get to the bank until after they close. There are bugs with it. Sometimes the categories won’t save to the transactions. The financial tools are very handy. I haven’t worked with the budget portion as I have another app for that but I love seeing the spending chart. It shows me if I’m within my monthly budget within seconds.

United Community App
The app is great to grab information. I know it could be for security purposes but I have Face ID set up and it never seems to work. Every time I log on I have to manually type in my info. I mean obviously things could be worse and at the end of the day it’s no big deal. It is easy to navigate once I’m in. I do appreciate every part of communication the bank sends for sure. Overall, it’s good. I am just not one who cares to do a lot on my phone in apps.

I’m pleased with the features available and how easily accessible everything is that I need to use regularly. The detailed record of all my spending has helped me so much, and has even helped me stop a few scams that had managed to get my card number. Clunky
Unlike other financial apps such as Amex, Chase, etc., to log in to UCB’s app requires clicking on “passwords”, using my fingerprint (guess this will change to facial recognition soon), this pops up every password I have stored. I have to type in “UCBI”, which auto-fills the password, then I have to click “go”. With Amex, you tough the app, then touch your fingerprint. UCB tech, including website, always seems to be clunky with multiple layers of complexity. For example, I can’t deposit over a small amount of $ per day using the app. Once I’ve reached that limit, I have to drive to the bank. Why?
