Fun and challenging
When I first downloaded this game on my iPad, over a year ago, I was excited because it was similar to one I really enjoyed on my Switch, but every time I tried to play it, I couldn’t. The game would prompt me to download content and then there was the spinning circle forever. I tried several times to just leave it alone for hours to keep trying to download, with no success. I recently got frustrated with the games I’d been playing and decided to try this one again. Either our internet is better, or the game has been updated, or both, but it works great now. There is such a wide variety of cases, and within each case, there is a wide variety of challenges. Some of them are easy, some challenging, and some confusing, which is a great mix. You get plenty of hints to help you out when you get stuck, and can watch ads to get additional hints if/when you need them. Energy regenerates slowly, which is my only complaint, though watching ads will give you more energy, and allow you to use less energy for an hour. Currently, I’m using running out of energy as a prompt to get off my tablet, lol, but there are options to use gems, which you can earn at a reasonable rate. I haven’t yet felt a need to purchase gems for extra energy or hints, but I haven’t ruled it out. I do want to support the developers because it’s such a well designed game, so I don’t mind clicking on the ads.

Fun but frustrating
I like the game but it frustrates me. I always need more energy to do the simplest of tasks. I started with The Mist of Ravenwood. The hints aren’t very helpful most of the time and I’ve wasted them accidentally hitting the button while trying to find hidden objects in the picture. I’m not able to find everything needed to access certain areas, like the raven cavity to get the batteries for Becky’s camera, the shop in the logging camp or the footlocker next to the ticket seller. All my tools were lost when the gondola fell into the ocean. Is that supposed to happen? I retrieved 3 of the locks to free the prisoner but made the mistake of placing each as I found it after getting the first piece to open the trapdoor. When I was unable to get across the river, I restarted the game. My 9 year-old grandson enjoys helping me with it. I hope we can get through it to the end. I’d like to try more of the mysteries. I wrote the previous paragraph when I was first starting the game and getting very frustrated. The energy for tasks is still a problem but I’m getting farther along and better at the game. I was able to figure out what I needed and go back for it. I’ve since raised my rating from 3 stars to 5. I’m looking forward to other mysteries when this one is solved.

Great game but few tweaks I would make
It’s a great game plenty of mystery’s and challenges that aren’t impossible to figure out but they’re hard enough to take some time with. Along with that, you get free hints after a certain amount of time if you get completely stuck on a part. The part I have an issue with is the energy. Every action you make consumes 5 energy everything from opening doors, picking up items, using said items, etc. everything requires energy so you get around 5-15 minutes of play time before you’re out of energy and have to either watch ads for more, pay for more, or just flat out wait. Overall you get little play time before you have to wait several hours for your energy to be full to actually play a little bit. You could add a small fee to pay to have infinite amount of energy which in my opinion would be worth it since other then the energy is a great game. You could also just add mini games to earn energy or even just reduce the time it takes to get energy and possibly reduce the amount of energy it takes to do every action from five to one or even two that way you still have plenty of time to play but you don’t have an overflowing amount of it to the point that you can just finish the whole mystery in 1 sitting. But as stated before it’s a great game the experience is fun it has an interesting story along with giving you plot details as you go through it, the energy is the only complaint I have for the whole game.

I love this game but….
EDIT: it’s nice to see that the developers are doing something about the main complaint of the energy mechanics. I am looking forward to seeing all the new changes with the gems. Thank you for listening to us. :) With most of the reviews being about how poor the energy system is in the game; you’d think they’d try and do something or announce some kind of fix. Like I’d gladly pay to fully unlock the game or pay a subscription for unlimited energy. I want to play the game. But I can play for five minutes at a time it gets annoying. I love this game but I think the energy deal is quite annoying. I wanna sit and play the game not do five things then have to wait for my energy to come back up. You need energy to pick up an item to use an item to open a door it’s on the ridiculous side honestly. I truly love this game - the look the puzzles and the story is even pretty good; but the energy needs an overall. Like I played for 5 min and now I can’t do anything. It’s kinda killing my attention for the game. You can still get money for your game if you do other types of micro transactions - maybe story lines or cosmetics for our evidence bags and items. Keeping the energy would be fine if the devs would be willing to wayyyyyyy lower the energy costs. Like is said love the game - but the energy thing needs to be fixed.

Free to play, but I watch multiple ads a day
Update: I believe the developer read my post. See the bottom where I complained about not getting credit for ads. The problem I was experiencing is gone. Ads work as expected now. I love the fact the developer fixed the issue. There are in-app purchases to reduce the ad watching effort or you can just wait long enough to allow your energy and hints to regenerate. I’m not that patient, I prefer to get immersed and enjoy the puzzle solving in a long session. I’ve become accustom to bringing up the game while engaged in other activities to let ads play to accelerate the build up of energy and hints. First, I love the game. It is engaging and immersive. And, you can play for free. However, the reason for three stars is because of all the ads I watch but receive no reward. I would have to watch two, three or more ads before the game give me small bump in energy or hints. I've learned to force quit the app and restart to get a new ad to watch. I might quit the app up to four times to start a new ad, one I trust will end with a reward. The ones that start with a 30 second timer to receive a reward are the ones that work. The rest don’t and are a waste of time.

SEVERELY time gated and that hint button location is incredibly frustrating
I probably would not have started this if I had known how SEVERELY time gated it is. 24 hours a day x 60 minutes = 1440 minutes divided by 4.5 minutes per energy point = 300 chances to get energy points. Which means you would have to have this game open 24 hours a day to completely fill the meter. Yes, you can watch an ad once an hour for 20 energy points and a total of 420 per day (if the meter even goes that high) but who needs another timer in their life just to play a GAME? Not to mention that - as another reviewer said, every action costs 5 energy, so you get four big tries to play. I really, really miss the days when you could just pay once for a game and just be able to play it. I understand developers need to make their money but does everything have to be a CONSTANT cash grab??? ……………… As for that @%,##,*** Hint button - Make it smaller, Relocate it on the screen and Make it have to be deliberately contacted (maybe a multiple tap?) PLEASE. I am down to one hint without actually USING any because I habitually rest my right hand on the bottom right corner of my iPad and I keep accidentally hitting it. There is also the need to tap all over the blasted screen in order to locate hidden objects, which has lost me a couple of hints as well. This is *quite* frustrating.

All Games
I absolutely love the games. The graphics are amazing and the story lines are captivating but it’s almost impossible to play. You’re forced, after about three to five minutes, to either pay for energy, watch ads or just wait for an hour to even be able to make one single move. I completely understand that the developers need money (which I have paid by the way) to continue their awesome work, however, the gameplay should be much smoother. Artifex Mundi is wonderful and I love every game but this needs to be addressed. I’ve read the reviews and also the responses from the developers and it seems like the developers say they are working on the energy problem but everything is the same. I’m assuming that the reason you (the developers) have created these awesome games is because you want people to play them and be able to immerse themselves into the storyline, thus encouraging people to buy the game, but that is not possible the way it is. Very frustrating. And I want to add (after reading one of the responses you wrote to one of the reviewers) that yes, other developers do use “energy systems” for gameplay but none are as ridiculous, or demand more money from the players, than yours.

Energy system is disruptive , nice games
Games in Unsolved are old games which you can download trial versions or purchase full games for. There is no customizable difficulty setting. It’s nice that there’s a collection all in one app, but the energy system is confusing and lacking. You can run out of energy and lose your entire train of thought and also not get much gameplay. My suggestion to Mundi would be to make the breakdown by chapter instead of by energy. Everything costs energy. Hints, clicking and object to pick it up, etc. only way to tell how much energy an action cost is after the action by comparing how much energy you had before and after the action. also I bought a starter pack that said it unlocked all 600 chapters. I have no idea what that means because the energy still ran out so unlocking doesn’t mean you get enough energy to finish a game. I am a fan of Mundi games and have played the full version of some of these games through separate purchases. However, I think Mundi screwed up here on energy. One of the other hidden object and puzzle developers haiku games has a better model in their AE mysteries app which limits you to 2 chapters of play before you have to wait to gain more keys to unlock chapters. AE does have ads though when chapters are loading and Unsolved does not. Another suggestion to have clean stopping points like the trial version of Mundi games

Good game but major issue
The game itself is great, the puzzles aren’t too easy but aren’t too difficult and the stories are surprisingly intriguing, and that’s coming from someone who normally couldn’t care less about mobile game lore. But… the energy. Oh god the energy system in this game is horrendous. “Full energy” is a total of 300 energy, which doesn’t sound too bad-until you realize that every individual action costs 5 energy. Picking something up, interacting with something, even finding an item in one of those hidden object puzzles. Without even counting the actions that take up extra energy, that gives you 60 moves before energy runs out- which usually means about 10 minutes of gameplay. You can watch an ad that makes actions cost 20% less, which gives you a grand total of 75 moves. When you run out of energy, you have three options- wait, watch an ad, or pay. One energy takes four minutes and thirty seconds to recharge, meaning getting full energy from 0 takes 22 hours and 30 minutes. Watching an ad gives you 20 energy and you can only watch one every hour, so you’re almost forced to pay- 5 dollars for full energy. I’m all for monetization in games, especially when they come from small studios, but when it disrupts the game like this it’s unacceptable. My recommendation is to not get this game until the developers fix this problem.

So fun!!
Started playing this game and was immediately taken back to when I was younger playing mystery point and click games online. I’m genuinely shocked at how much content is on here, with so many different stories and plot lines. I figured I would start getting ads after completing the first one perhaps, as a way to hook you, but you guys. There are actually no ads!?! I’m completely blown away, being so used to a truly criminal amount of ads on any mobile game these days. Literally you only have to watch an ad to get a bit of extra energy or one to get some energy efficiency, and that’s it. There seems to be a bug however that makes it so the ad doesn’t count sometimes when I watch, and I have to rewatch an ad to get a reward. Hope that’s a bug to be fixed and not a feature slipped in to make people watch more ads, but either way it’s not bad at all. The only thing is I do wish I could play more in one sitting then roughly 20 minutes before the energy is all gone, but it keeps me hooked! I play every day right now, already on my 4th adventure. Love this game!!

I have the same problem as everyone else
UPDATE: is there somewhere we can buy the whole game without having the energy situation. I’m starting to get really frustrated having to wait an hour just to take one action and then having to wait again. I rather pay like 30 bucks for the whole game .. is it available as a computer download? This game is great and fun and it keeps me from staying out of trouble (except not from spending money). However- I find myself having the same issue as everyone else. With the energy- it’s a waiting game. I’ve probably paid for a lot of in app purchases and I’ve barely had this for a week. I currently have the silver and gold pass and I still find myself waiting and frustrated that I already put so much money into this game . Then on top of that, if you’re ready to take an action and you don’t have enough energy- by the time you do have energy, and if you have a horrible memory- you end up losing that little bit by clicking around trying to figure out where you left off. I really hope you all take these reviews seriously because it seems like it has been an ongoing problem and I’m tempted to delete the game because there’s no possible way to play without spending money which is not a good thing for me

I’m not gonna say it…
But I’ll say it.. the energy is craaazy lol. I completely understand the need to fund the game for further development. That’s ok!! I understand why having it be a real time waiting thing so people are more inclined to purchase the lil packs- I get it! What I do not get it how the energy system works.. I know you guys have no intention or plans on removing it, but I’d like to throw an idea out (cause I know y’all are working on making it a little “better” (it’s already a great game- I’m not saying it’s bad at all!!) and that takes time). I think it’s crazy how MUCH energy it takes. Even in the HOS, each thing you find costs?! Just little things that are NECESSARY to further the game take my energy and I can’t take it no more!!! I wanna play the game!!! It’s SO GOOD!! I’ve already spent money on it when I just got it an hour ago, so the game is absolutely amazing and all y’all’s hard work is definitely noticed & appreciated. I personally also appreciate you guys making an all free HOG for those of us who can’t financially do much atm. But please. I beg u. The ENERGY :( ilu guys please take care, I hope your 22 is treating y’all well so far, I hope ur all staying hydrated, and are having fun continuously putting out BANGERS. Thank u

Good Game. Devs have no intention on making it better in my opinion
This is actually a really fun game and I’m liking the stories mixed with puzzle but it takes 5 energy for every single tap you do! Even if you are in a mini game of hidden objects, it cost you 5 energy for every object you find and it has about 8-10 items on the list. I’ve tested this by checking the menu and my energy each time I tapped an item. Honestly it should have been only 5 energy to enter the game, per object in the mini game is just greedy. They also don’t display your energy for you to see unless you click the menu. This tells me they don’t want you to see when you are running out so that when you do they can hit you with an ad that says “for only 1.99 we can give you 300 energy” which translates to 60 taps in game. 60 taps is literally nothing in this app. Could of been a great game if the energy usage wasn’t so extreme. Also, I’ve read dozens of comments from over a year ago of my same complaint! And I’ve read all the responses from developers saying they are going to fix it but clearly haven’t. They have every intention on saying they are but won’t. I’m not a pro app developer but I have enough experience in building multiple apps of my own to know it doesn’t take this long to fix an error you promised dozens you were going to fix.

Good game but energy is a problem
I have enjoyed playing this game. It’s interesting and the critical thinking to get through some portions of the game is nice. The issue is the energy doesn’t make any sense. Over a 12 hour period your not even completely full of energy and because of that you only get about 15 minutes of play at a time. Because there is no marker of your energy level on the main screen, you have zero idea that your out until you suddenly can’t do anything and are offered to pay for more. This leads me to believe the energy is superfluous and is really just a money grab. The other complaint I have is the seek and find are almost impossible at times to find all the items. I’m not even sure what some of the items are and I usually end up having to use a hint or two to find the remaining items. The items that require multiples tasks in order to completely find them have nothing that indicates what those items need or lead you in any way except for maybe a candle and matches, which is a bit more obvious. Otherwise, besides not really being able to spend much time playing the game, I do enjoy the time I can play it and look forward to playing more of it.

AWESOME!
It has been a while since I’ve found a “portal” of games that are not only interesting but keep me thinking outside the box. I’ve never been much of a fan of “hidden object” games, but these incorporate such vivid stories and unique puzzles that I had to keep it. What I like most is that more games are always being added. And did I mention they are practically free. For a small (~$2) purchase you have access to all the games. If you don’t have the money or don’t want to pay, there are still 5-6 free (very well scripted) stories to get lost in for several weeks (or months depending how often you play). And you can play them as many times as you want. The only drawback I have is that some of the “objects” in the hidden games are difficult to see, mostly because my eyesight isn’t that great. I guess that’s why I never really cared for “Hidden object” games before. But these stories are so well done that for me it is a small price to pay. Thanx Artifex Mundi for making such great games with very interesting and compelling storylines. Keep them coming.

I’m really enjoying
I’m really enjoying this game, however sometimes it’s very hard to tell where you are supposed to go to find the artifacts that you need. I have skipped over so many things I should of done first and I never knew I was supposed to do those things and where it’s located. For instance the tree with all the symbols and the blood on the tree. That I have no idea what I was supposed to do. I know that in the magnify glass there is rocks that have the symbols on them but I have already used and bought so many diamonds just for hints. Without the hints I was very confused. There has got to be an easier way to describe where the artifacts are located so you know which section to look in. Otherwise I love the game. Graphics are perfect it is a lot of fun to try and figure what has happened. The prisoner though doesn’t make sense to me and I was supposed to figure that out long ago.

Strong start, but peters out
I really enjoyed the beginning of the game. Fun storyline, good graphics, interesting puzzles. But as you get deeper into the game, your energy (which is required to perform tasks) gets depleted quicker and quicker. I got a little less than halfway through the game and found that even during a simple seek-and-find puzzle I lost all energy. At this point I can only play for a few minutes, then it’s done. I don’t mind watching ads for energy, but they only give you that option in very limited amounts. So you either pony up money to buy energy (which I am guessing won’t last long), or you uninstall because you get so irritated playing for a few minutes at a time. I think they should offer other ways to earn energy, like more ads, or simple side games to do while waiting for energy to be replenished. I mean, I get it, they have to make money but that’s where ads come in, and there are lots of people like me who won’t spend money but will happily watch ads. It’s how I found this game. But looks like I won’t finish the game. There are other games that offer similar gameplay without the super restrictive energy issues, like Haiku Games.

Great game, can barely play
The game is super fun, challenging but not too challenging. That said, you get about 5 minutes of play and then you have to wait over a day for the energy to fully recharge. Each action is a minimum of 5 energy which is too much, and once an hour you’re allowed to watch an ad for 20 extra energy. Sometimes the ad only rewards 4 energy and you can’t watch another for more. Today I went my energy randomly jump from 15 to 0 without me making any moves. The energy is glitchy and it’s frustrating because this would be SUCH a fun game if they could get it sorted. I would gladly buy a package for unlimited energy, I’ve already spent around $45 in extra gems in the past month and had to cut myself off because that’s an insane amount of money to spend on a game. If there was a one time fee I’d consider it, but that’s unsustainable. When I contacted them regarding the energy glitches they told me I had just spent the energy performing actions, rather than listening to me and addressing the glitches. It’s a shame that such a fun game is made so frustrating by their greed.

Needs improvement
I share the same prime complaint with others here about the “limiting” energy factor to this game, but my reason is nuanced. You’re constantly slowed up from the storyline by needing to search piles of things that wipe you clean of your energy, to find one “useful item” to continue playing. My suggestion is either reduce the energy it takes to collect the items in the piles, or allow us to depart the pile when the useful item needed is found. I am never going to spend money on this game, I’ll be honest. So my willingness to play and give you ad revenue is based on whether I’ve got the good mood to deal with a short gameplay and little story progression. Additionally, there’s an issue where after you watch an ad, either to reduce energy cost by 20% or to get 20 more energy, that it glitches the sound in the app and you have to close the app and reopen just to have sound with the game again. Sometimes I have to watch ads twice just to get the reward to apply. It’s a good premise but it’s another pay-to-play that it appears they’ve intentionally made frustrating enough to make people spend money to play.

Great game, Money hungry developers
The stories are interesting, puzzles are fun and challenging. But the energy system is really ridiculous. Only way to receive gems to purchase energy is through the daily rewards and even then they only give you like 5-10 at a time. That’s if you even get them. Which I feel is ment to stagnate progress and force you to make purchase in order to progress the game. 1.99 for 50 measly gems that you can’t use to purchase more energy because the minimum for that it 100 jems for 300 energy which only lets you progress about 5 percent given the amount of energy it cost for each move. There are AD incentives but it’s every hour for 20 energy, then sometimes it’ll make you wait 11 hours till you can watch the next ad for 20 energy. This sort of game set up essentially pushes players who want to see more progress that 2 moves a day to then buy their essentially worthless packs that you’ll have to buy every 10-20 mins of play because of energy. Devs I get it everybody gotta eat but it would be nice to have better game play options for players who don’t have 5dollars to give every 5 mins in order to play.

Great, but not
I’m tempted to give this 1 star because it really is unplayable as is unless you like constant lengthy interruptions waiting for more energy. I know it’s designed to pay the developers, but I could literally spend hundreds of dollars to get through just one story without interruptions. Um, for a game? Just no! Most games have an alternative so developers can get paid, like watching videos instead of paying real money. This one does too, but after watching just 1 to get 20 energy (which is used up within 5 minutes), guess what? You have to wait some more - an hour - before you can watch another! That’s it for me. I’m going back to Adventure Escape Mysteries. No energy requirements. Not even ad watching requirements. If they can do that, surely this game can be better. Other than this issue, the game is great. Thus, 2 stars instead of 1. But I can’t enjoy this game in its current state. Sadly. Also, it would be nice to see the energy level on the main screen without having to click into the menu all the time to check. I usually have no clue that it’s running out until I’m told I don’t have enough left. That’s annoying.

Energy
It’s a fun game to play I really like it but it takes to long to get energy there is not spot you can get free energy and it takes to much energy on one move I think it is unfair especially when they only give you 20 energy. I think they should give more to play considering how much they take from you and it should not take between 1 to 10 hours to get energy I think this game needs to be revised to get free energy like I said 20 energy just isn’t enough or you can purchase more energy and I’m not going to do that. I have noticed that every review has a problem about the energy but the developers are doing nothing about it They energy system has to change or I’m going to delete this game because I hate playing for a few minutes and have to waits hours for energy just not worth continuing this game it is very aggravating. And still no developer did anything to give you more energy or put in energy spots then you use way to much energy in maybe 2 moves this is ridiculous I love the game but I’m about to delete it the energy is the problem here the game was fun but I’m going to have to say bye bye game

play Enigmatis!!
I downloaded the app to play The Mists of Ravenwood, not knowing it was part of a series. I LOVED that game & was glad to see there was a bonus adventure, & more to the story when it ended. I’m now playing The Shadow of Karkhala and it’s super fun seeing the story continue! when I’m done with this I’m going to go back and play Origins because I didn’t realize that was part of the story before playing TMoR, all that to say I’m having a great time and would definitely recommend the series! ⭐️ I would rate 5 but the fact that the energy drains so fast and you can’t watch more than 1 ad per hour is a bit annoying. Even when you do watch an ad it only gives you 20 energy which is gone after tapping like 2 things. Give us more ads or more energy per ad at least…I understand it’s because they want people to spend money on it but there’s people like me that are never going to spend money on an app, and the developers would still get money from letting us watch ads.

Frustrating but fun
Like other reviewers I do actually enjoy the game. But unlike other similar games, this one uses way too much energy for the simplest of tasks, takes too long to regenerate energy, and there are no mini-games or bonuses to earn extra energy. So, the only recourse you have is to either wait 24 hours for regeneration which gives you 15 minutes of play or you can pay. You have th option of $7.99 for one week of VIP and it gives 200 bonus energy. Most games offer $8-10 for the month or 30 day period. This is highly frustrating as a big time fan of these types of games that a developer finally came up with something this great and has such crappy business sense that they cannot reset the energy renewal to a reasonable amount of time or offer bonus games or at the very least do not charge such high prices to buy more energy. I am so disappointed to be honest. And so frustrated I will probably end up deleting the whole game. So sad in my opinion that greed gets in the way of such potential.

Great concept, poor execution
This game is quite literally my favorite game I’ve downloaded on a phone. Storytelling is great, puzzles are fun, I love the searching mechanic (reminds me of the old I spy books as a kid). However, there is one huge issue that makes this game nearly unplayable. The energy mechanic. Other reviews aren’t exaggerating when they say you can only play for a few minutes. I let the energy charge up all night, and even then I only got three minutes of gameplay before I ran out. Please, devs, include some way of improving this mechanic so we can actually enjoy this otherwise great game. You could charge a flat rate for a story so you get unlimited energy for that story. You could include a mega pack that costs a lot but gives you unlimited energy for all stories. You could reduce the cool down for watching ads. Literally anything that would improve this system. As it stands now I’m considering uninstalling this game, which really stinks because it is so good, but the energy system makes it basically unplayable.

Over-usage
Great games and storylines, but the energy decrease is way too grand per use. I understand the concept of using this as an advantage to pursue players into buying the passes, but it seems like the further into the game I get, the more energy it takes. If there was anything to be done to help the game progress faster, it would be this. Other than that, the storyline, the graphics, the sound effects, and everything else has been taken into consideration and I think it’s awesome. I never make in-app purchases so when an addictive game makes me want to use a purchase daily, I just delete the app. I deleted it a few days after getting it, then redownloaded it to see if they fixed the amount of energy. But they haven’t, to be honest, I don’t think they ever will. They reply to these reviews and say they are working on it, but are they? I think I am to delete the game again and never consider playing it due to the over-usage on the energy which depletes the game a lot. Sorry for the inconvenience caused, I had to let anyone concerned know about this. Thank you for reading.

So frustrating
I play lots of escape room games. The puzzles on this one are on the easy side, but are enjoyable. For that there are 2 stars. The energy usage has been discussed over and over and over and the developers comment saying they will improve it but then say they will improve by giving cheaper purchase options, not fixing the usage or the replenish rate. I let my energy “charge” for 14 hours between playing. This got me about 150… half of the fully charged amount. During that 14 hours, I also watched 3 or 4 videos, to get 20 free ones each. 14 hours and 4 videos allowed me to play for 20 minutes. I can tell you that I will never spend money for energy if buying it doesn’t allow me to play the whole story. I can’t spend $10 per day to play for an hour (2 small “chapters”). Most other games cost energy to play that you have to wait to have it replenish, but it unlocks a whole chapter, not each action. 5 energy to pickup an object and waiting an hour to replenish to pick up a 2nd item is super frustrating, I am likely done and won’t be playing more.

Fun game, but the energy bit stinks.
The game is fun, nice and challenging. But the way you use energy is not explained or shown. In order to see your energy, you have to select the menu button. But you are never told when you will be using energy for what actions. Just let me play the game. Also, the ads to get more energy never work. Make me use energy for hints or something, but don’t limit my game play. I get to a puzzle and suddenly haven’t enough energy to attempt the puzzle. And every item found during the search puzzles costs energy. Every item found, not just the puzzle. So if you run out of energy before you find all the items, too bad, you've got to wait. Please get rid of the energy bit. Find other ways to make your money, by either paying for the game to have unlimited energy forever, or for buying hints before they are ready, or something. I just want to play the game. I’d pay for the game after a free trial, if it meant I didn’t run out of energy ever. Seriously, just let me play the game.

Fun- but why need energy?
This game is great except for the fact that you need energy. I would love to just binge all the cases but I can’t do that because I need to either pay money for more energy, use gems that are rare to get, or wait hours until the energy fills up. Also, the hints are rarely helpful if you get stuck, and they stop working if you have to go to a different area for the help. Like let’s say I’m in one place, I click the help, the purple dust tells me to go back. I go back, and then the hint is done. Like I’m going to magically know what to do because of that. So I have to continue wasting hints to figure out that I needed to go to a specific spot on the map and it still doesn’t tell me/give me an idea what I’m supposed to do. Overall great mystery game for mobile. I’m on the Ravenwood mist case. I was almost halfway but I had to restart because I got stuck and nothing was helping. Great game and highly recommend, but it is no where close to perfect.

Agh! So frustrating…
Some days are really bad and I can seem to get the hang of the game. Then some days I’m on a roll and will run out of energy. Usually right when I’m doing a task. Which means I have to come back hours later and try to pick up my thought process from where I was before and go from there and it usually doesn’t turn out as well as when I was on a roll. Some of the cases are obviously easier to get through than others, so you’re just gonna have to play around with the cases. I like the game but it’s frustrating. I really wish there were some thing the developers could do to either limit the of energy use for each task or make it easier to get energy without spending a whole lot of money for gems to buy energy. It’s a serious problem that needs to be addressed in dealt with.

Good game but the energy
Edit: See the same basic response to watch a video to jump ahead 30 min. Already deleted the game. It's too bad. The game itself is actually fun. I’m probably going to have to delete this game. The storyline and the game itself is great. But, the energy issue has been going on for years at this point, and the devs keep saying that they’re “working on it”. It makes the game almost unplayable. I want to be able to enjoy the game but can only play on 5-10 minute increments. At the very least they could show us as we play how much energy we are using, or even let us know what actions cost what energy (cannot find this info anywhere). I wouldn’t mind paying something per game. Even if they decide to stay with the energy thing, maybe not making EVERY SINGLE ACTION use energy would make it better. Or better yet, the d each action costs 5 energy, let the energy replenish in increments of 5. It’s crazy that 12 hrs can pass and the energy is still not fully replenished. I’ll have to check back and see if they have changed anything, but for now, I have to find something else.

Energy is a real problem
Update: I read other reviews and there are comments from devs (in response to energy comments) that new features and cheaper shop options are on the way… I hope cheaper shop options aren’t the only way energy is being addressed. The game is both beautiful and fun. Fingers crossed it becomes more playable. This game is fun and I would really enjoy it. Problem is, energy isn’t sustainable enough to play the game for any amount of time. Actions cost energy, but there doesn’t seem to be any way to know how much. During a hidden picture puzzle, I checked after each item found and it seemed to cost around 5 energy points per item. EACH energy point takes 5 minutes to earn. Initially, I was using hints because it doesn’t say anywhere that it costs energy. I have no idea how much it uses, but I suspect it’s a lot. I even paid for the intro offer to get some energy, before I realized how energy-hungry the game was. When we pay for energy, it’s only fair to be transparent about how much energy various tasks are costing us.

Energy and General Glitches
Like what seems everyone else the energy business is nonsense. I appreciate they want to get paid, but 5 energy to do ANY action? Each point of energy takes 4 minutes to reset? I’m not necessarily opposed to watching ads for more energy or to reduce the cost of actions, but if you watch an ad it’s hours till you get the next chance and that’s not always consistent - sometimes it’s 4, sometimes it’s 14. Sometimes you don’t get all the energy you were supposed to get for watching the ad. Additionally, there’s several times where you have energy (multiples of 5) but the game keeps glitching and saying you don’t have enough energy to perform an action. The puzzles are intriguing, though some seem like they are nearly impossible unless you use a hint. But hints apparently use 10 energy, and you better hope you’re in the right room when you use it, because otherwise you’re going to be using multiple hints to move to the right room. It’s crazy.

Energy accrued
I really want to love this game but I can't hardly play it. Seems it takes a full 24 hours to fill the energy bar. Also the mini games should only cost energy when starting it. To run out of energy in the middle of a mini game is really. 90 energy over 8 hours is a little lacking. Especially when each action cost 5 or more. Restricting players to only 10-20 min a day is unfortunate. I made a purchase on this game I should be able to play it more often. I would also like to mention that the cost of energy to do any certain task is a little much. 15 energy to start a mini game and then 45 energy to get through it. Not ok. Also, the mini games there are a lot of objects hidden behind other objects that you have to basically click on accident for the real object to reveal itself, so obstruct view if clicking too fast when we have to randomly click around to find where the object we're looking for is hidden behind. Makes no sense.

Lack of customer service
I LOVE this game. To the point I started spending a little money here and there. The energy always run out being as though everything you do takes some. But I digress. My main issue is the fact that I have had to start over on a couple boards after making it so far into the game. Sometimes it’ll take me back a few steps. After spending so much energy, and time, they have never gave me the energy back. I’ve complained about this through the app and no one ever responded. So now I’ve resorted to coming here in hopes someone can help me out. I understand it’s technology and sometimes there are glitches but I have used gems to get energy and it’s just disappears with no warning or even a refund. At this point I’m losing money, energy and time and it is FRUSTRATING. Please offer me some kind of solution and/or my energy and money back. Please and thank you!

New updates have a negative impact
I loved this game. Hands down one of my favorites to play throughout the day. The games and storylines are the perfect balance of challenging and engaging. For the most part, the games play well and the storylines are clear to follow. I also think the watching an ad to decrease energy usage percentage is brilliant. I didn’t even mind having to pay to unlock all of the stories because it truly was such a wonderful and enjoyable game. Only app I have ever paid for and I didn’t regret it. One of the best parts was the fact that I could use hints when needed for free. If there was a point where I was confused in game and not sure what the next step was, I could use hints and get back on track. Unfortunately, with the most recent upgrade, hints are now limited. Since the hints don’t always help and at times require more than one, this genuinely takes away from the game play. It’s disappointing to see changes like these because they do impact the enjoyability of the game tremendously.

Enigmatis 3 glitch - hints stopped working
So I really really love this app. The games on here are such high quality and I love playing them. I have not had a single complaint this whole time until now. I’ve run into a glitch that I hope gets fixed. In Enigmatis 3, I’m about 43% through and I’ve run into an impassable issue. In the sawmill, I’ve gotten to the point where I have to do the hidden objects puzzle behind the gears. I’ve found every object except the “prong” which it says I need to complete an action in order to reveal. I’ve tried clicking around the entire space and nothing works. I’ve tried using hints, and nothing happens, it doesn’t lead me to click anywhere. I’ve even tried to look up walkthroughs online, and in their hidden objects mini game, prong isn’t even listed for them, so I’m very confused what’s wrong. Please please fix whatever is wrong, because I want to keep playing! I really love this series and I’ll be really sad if I can’t finish.

Energy mechanic makes the game unplayable
I was very very impressed when I first started playing one of the mysteries. They are so well written, the graphics are amazing for a mobile game, and the puzzles are fun. I just wish there was an option to pay for each adventure so you don’t have to wait for your energy to restore. I would much rather pay full price for an adventure rather than wait for the energy. And even when you do let the energy restore, each move costs 5 energy (even in the hidden object games, each object you find costs 5 energy). Buying energy doesn’t seem worth it because you get about 5 minutes of gameplay before you have to put it down again, which is such a shame because I can see myself sitting down & playing these adventures for hours if the app allowed me to. Again, really well done game that I would be happy to pay for (the game is that good - it would be worth it) but I just can’t justify paying for energy with how quickly you lose it.

LOVE THIS GAME
ong fr, best game ever. I thought it would be some silly little puzzles, but this game has amazing graphics, story telling, and is actually challenging and has me totally hooked. I really love that there aren't ads!! I see critical reviews about the energy running out but I haven’t had a negative experience with the energy (at least not yet!). I only play before bed at night so maybe it’s because I let my energy save up all day, but I get a solid 30-45 minutes of play time before I run out and I think its very reasonable. Im happy to watch a few ads in order to finish up a couple tasks before I stop playing for the night. I would definitely be willing to pay some sort of subscription or something so I don’t need to make multiple purchases to refill - and I don’t usually spend money on games but this ones worth it(:

I love the game but !!!!!
I think it’s pretty crazy how good these games are but the fact that you either have to wait so long to play when only play for a few moments , because your energy goes away sooo quickly or the fact that you can pay out crazy amounts of money and still be waiting 30 mins later. I think it’s kind of scummy to do it this way. One fee to be a member for unlimited play I think would be ideal . Let people enjoy your game and not be so greedy . I’ve spent 20$ just to spend another 5$ 30 mins later , then 3$ , then another 3$ , then your like Miswell by the 20$ again because the stuff gets used soooo quickly . The energy is just plain crazy . The hints I understand , make them work for it and pay if they can’t wait for help . But paying just to play in general is just odd to me . I feel you would want people to play more not less . Sadly this has me looking for a similar different game . 🫡 good luck

Yessss I love this game so much
This is just the adventure I’ve been looking for. Collecting items and connecting them to clue after clue to solve puzzles. I’m so excited. I’m only in the beginning of the game and I feel the excitement of solving the puzzles to get to the next level. The graphics is 10/10. A mobile game having graphics like this along with puzzles and clues to move on through the game…….mannnn oh man. I’m ecstatic and can’t believe I truly found the game I’ve been looking for. Can’t wait to see what’s to come. This is a must. Download this game now. I’m a married with 5 children and I love having some excitement like this to help time past and give me something to forward to when I have downtime. Again….. please hurry and download this amazing game. Ok. Gotta go and solve the clues to find Becky and her parents. 🥰🥰✌🏾

Great Game, But…
Alright, I love solving mysteries. The open exploration adds to the frustration but also the sense of satisfaction I feel when finally getting past something that stumped me. If I was just talking about the story and gameplay, this would be a 5/5 star review for mobile game standards. The one thing that throws me off and a major concern I have is that parts of this game feel like AI. The voices and the animations for the character‘s facial expressions especially. Given, I‘m still on the introductory chapter so I haven‘t experienced all of the stories. Maybe theres more or less than what I‘m talking about. The point is, if any aspect of this game is AI generated then I can‘t praise or recommend it in good faith. I would appreciate a credits menu for each chapter that lists the names of people who voiced, illustrated, animated and wrote any part of the experience to prove that this isn‘t the case.

Energy???
It makes absolutely no sense that an adventure game would have to use energy?? The game forces you to wait for the energy to recharge and it takes 24 hours to get back to full energy. The game doesn’t even tell you how much energy you use when you’re doing tasks or when you’re using energy doing those tasks. My guess is the developers just needed an easy cash grab opportunity and came up with this useless “energy” that isn’t explained at all throughout the game. Love adventure games like this but not when they’re run by money-hungry developers who really don’t care about their customers. Sad really. Update: You would think that when every single review of this game complains about the factor of Energy, that the developers would actually fix that issue. I am reading multiple responses that the developers have done on reviews of this game, where they say that they are working on fixing the energy problem but then it’s been years with absolutely no solutions.

My second review.
My first review was before playing other games like this. This game is very challenging at times. Its not all just find the hidden objects like other mysteries. You actually have to figure things out. Somethings are easy and then some things are challenging never too the point you cant figure it out but enough to make you wanna keep playing. I love the fact that you have many things to figure out along the way. The story line are usually interesting. And the graphics are great. The only thing i would complain about and not having enough lightning. Its so frustrating because everything cost so much lighting and you dont get much of game play because you have to wait to reload. Sure you can watch an ad for 20 lightning every 2 hrs but thats inly good for doing one thing so its not really worth it. The package deals to purchase stuff i think are ridiculous. Its like 5 days to get get 100 gems to get 100 lightning which you use in less then 5 mins. I love this game but i would t see my self playing long term because of the lacking of lightning/energy for you to do things. Other then that i really do live this game i wish they would make it so you could get more then 300 lightning during reload and it would take less time to reload or something.

Good but….
So I hate to reiterate what everyone else has said, but i’m going to do it anyway. Love the games. The mysteries are a lot of fun and not too easy or too complicated. I can’t stand the energy. I think that recently the amount of energy you have got upped, but it’s still not enough. Like I know that the point is so that people don’t fly through all the mysteries before you get the chance to update (at least I think that’s the point), but i just can’t play enough in one sitting. It would be better if there was something about how many different stories you can play at once/how often you can unlock a new story because part of the problem for me is getting cut off halfway through a story. Like I think it would be better if I could do two complete stories in like a week, cause at least i’m not on a cliffhanger. But yeah, other than that, awesome. One of the best puzzle games like this I have found.

Fun game, terrible energy system
I really like the game so far, but the energy system makes it impossible to really play. So you get sucked into the game for a few minutes and then you have to stop because you’ve run out of energy to do anything. Additionally, it takes way too long for your energy to refill. It basically takes almost all day for you then to get a chance to play again. The options given to refill the meter quickly are not worth it. For the ad option, either increase the amount of points that can be refilled or set it so people can watch an unlimited amount of ads to refill to their hearts content. As for purchasing gems, it seems like an overall waste of money because you spend 5 - 50 dollars to replenish the energy system and can probably easily blow through the gems in 1 day. At this rate I may finish the first story and just find something else to play.

Great set of games until...
I have been enjoying the many games in this series but lately, seems like after the latest Mac update, I am unable to play the mini games within the setting. My mouse becomes inactive not only making it unable to be played but to get out of the screen and close the game. I also have my monitor set up as a touch screen and I still can't play the mini game. I have contacted support a couple times and still have heard nothing back from them. I deleted the game and restarted my computer (Mac Mini m2) and reloaded the game and still get them same issue. I tried a different game in the Hidden series and I get the same issue with that too, unable to play the mini game. I have since taken my game playing to my ipad but it is making me start over from the very beginning game and until I can finish that will be unable to play the Noir Chronicles:City of Crime. So now I have heard back from the game makers only to thank me for my review??

Love the Game HATE the ENGRY
So the good is the game is fun, it has a good story, and puzzles very in difficulty. I like that the graphics are clean and you can see where mini puzzles are located. The bad the energy, there is no bar showing your energy level, you must purchase energy or wait multiple days for your energy to refill. Unlike other games you can’t find energy in the game or health packs, see ads to boost energy to full. The confusing how the energy is consumed, there is no distinct chapters to stop at but if you stop in the middle of a scene you pick up where you left off which is good. The energy seems to be the biggest issue with this game and without being able to buy full game play or having a better way to stimulate revenue for the company it’s going to continue. Unfortunately the company has been non responsive in coming up with a better way to explain how the energy is consumed, pricing of energy, or just a fix that could benefit both company and consumer.

Energy takes forever
This game is lot of fun and I've yet to get bored of it. Each mystery is different from the previous and overall a great game. Unfortunately the biggest downfall is you can only play it once maybe twice a day. It takes over 12 hours for your energy to reach 300 (full). Then you can play for a little bit until its gone. I have spent some money to refill energy but in the end spending the money just isnt worth how little 300 energy points get you. Everything you do uses energy so its used up very fast. I would recommend this game but this is a major factor that irritates me. I would love to be able to play with any free time I do have but unfortunately thats just not possible. So if you’re looking for a game to kill 20+ minutes this isnt the game to do that. Like I said you can only play once maybe twice a day.

The energy is an issue
Just like everyone else, I feel this game is amazing but the energy is the issue. The graphics, stories, puzzles, and adventures, all top notch. However to play you have to use energy. Every action in the game uses an insane amount. For example each item found in the hidden object games is 5 points. It takes about 5 min for one point to regenerate and the game only gives you a free 20 per 24 hours, or 100 for competing a story other than that. This 20 is enough to maybe do 2 puzzles if that. If you need a hint that’s 10 points gone. It’s pretty expensive to buy the points as 600 is $5 and it goes very fast. There are also some glitches here and there where it’ll use the energy but not perform the action. Like some others have said, I would be willing to watch ads all day to earn points but that’s not an option at all. They need to do something about this because I refuse to spend anymore money on this game.
