This has been such a fun way to follow and discover vehicles of all kinds and with a myriad of histories and stories to tell. Just yesterday I discovered a beautiful Aston Martin DB11 I saw at a car show was a restored total loss flood car, and I would have never known. I’ve found posts of my collector car from other users that I’ve really appreciated. It could use a few more options to edit posts and make easier connections with others, but the features here work really well, this app is polished. I’m loving it, and I can’t wait to see more.

We were involved in a hit and run and one of the witnesses got a blurry picture of the license plate. Through this app we were able to check plate numbers to the model of vehicle, and through the process of elimination we were able to find the plate and vin number of the vehicle that hit us. With that information the police were then able to find the perpetrator. Amazing app!

This app is garbage. At first it was pretty easy to use, but once I switched phones, I couldn’t view any of my previous posts or profile, but it shows that I have posts. I tried searching the cars I posted by vin only to find that all my info I posted was gone. Lists weren’t saved either. This app has so much more to work on on, it already has the community but it’s limitations make it not worthwhile to use. I tried going on the website and it’s just as bad. No way to view your profile or posts, and it doesn’t save hardly anything. This app could take some ideas from wheelwell which is a much more developed website with similar ideas to this. Spend a little money and hire someone to redo the entire app and I’ll come back, at this point I’m moving on.

This app is incredible! We’ve needed this platform for a long time. PL82VIN is an incredible feature! I’d like to be able to use it for posting classics by their plate/tag as well. What I really want to see is PDF upload support. Important documents worth sharing in a vehicles history really deserve to be in that format rather than a photo upload.

The app as amazing and I have been on for over two years. I do think a notification feature should be added and more support for support for iPad. This will probably never happen because i don’t see an update coming soon, although Ed reassured us on instagram an update will be soon. I see why there is no update... there is no need for them!

This app is amazing. It has a great community, great UI, a dedicated team working on making it better, and some great potential. It’s more than just an app to keep track of your car for the next owner, it’s a chance to be a part of a great community with car lovers and enthusiasts alike. Keep it up team, can’t wait to see where this app goes in the future!

I have been a fan of the vin wiki channel and most of Ed’s content . You have sone great storytellers. I’m a huge Porsche fan and fan of all things with power and style. Owner a few Porsche’s , still have some and some other classics. Great seeing what is on here and finding old loves and some new ones. Never can have enough of a good thing. Beautiful exotic women, fast cars and good scotch .

This is a wonderful idea and a fun and informative app for car enthusiasts. No ads either. I’ve been using this app every day for months. Features I’d love to see: - Add multiple photos to a post - Tag other vehicles in a post: if you have a photo of two cars together, you have to post them on both and write the other vehicle’s VIN on the post. - Edit posts: far too often I make a typo, and I can’t edit it so I have to delete it. I’d at least like to have the ability to copy the text so I can paste it rather than typing it all over again. - “Like” comments - “Save” or “Follow” posts you want to go back to later.

This is one of the best car apps I have ever downloaded. It has helped me to learn the backstory of a few cars that I was looking at purchasing. This is a very helpful resource. My one suggestion is to have all cars in a list organized by year and vin. So that the earliest production cars will be near the top, and the newest towards the bottom.

A must-have app for car nerds and vehicle fanatics alike. I think it lives up to my expectations, very neat community and easy-to-use features. Also, no ads! The lists really bring everything together, literally. Quite fun for carspotting, but the app is great even if you love motorcycles, trucks, buses, or other vehicles.

To start, this is a really great idea. Being able to tell a car’s story is one of the holy grails in the car world. How many times have you looked at a car and thought, “I wonder where this car has been. What has it seen?” This app allows you to do just that. I can’t wait to see where this app goes.

The app and idea are very cool, but I’m shocked to see the app was last updated 2 years ago. This means that the aspect ratio isn’t correct for the latest iPhones and it won’t fill the screen completely. This is a really simple update for a developer to complete. There are also some minor usability things that should be fixed. If these issues are resolved I would give it 5 stars, but for now I have to give it 3.

Thanks to this app I was able to see the true story of the car I was looking to buy. I used this info to enter into some shrewd negotiation with the owner of the car. I eventually got him down 4 grand from the original price. I ended up crashing the car, a (Lamborghini Gaillardo) but that’s no problem with the app. Thank you VinkWiki.

It is a great app and the 10/31 incident happened when their backup overwritten everything, NOT the dev teams fault. There can be some new features but please stop rating it one star due to a product that malfunctioned. Also, be happy you don’t have to pay for such a great app! 🤩🤗

So, there’s nothing inherently wrong with the app. It works as expected. But that’s about the most I can say. Trying to navigate vehicles that you submitted in a chore. Every time you enter a plate, you have to re-enter the state. It would be nice if you could set it to your home state, with the option to switch it if necessary. It’s obnoxious that you HAVE to enter a comment when submitting a car. I usually revert to just saying the color of the vehicle because, for a random car, what do you say? I’d also like to see a function that notifies you if a VIN has been reported stolen. There are a number of other UI improvements that could be made. But as a basic app, it works and I really like using the site. It just deserves better.

i love this app, its great for keeping maintenance records and keeping track of cars you like. the app works fine i just wish there was a way to remove posts from lists instead of reporting them, you can only delete your own posts but i want to be able to remove mistakes without reporting them.

It needs a update to make it work better with iOS 12 I try to add a car it just loads and loads I type in the plate then the state it loads and loads when I try to add a car to a list it loads and loads then after 2 minuets I click cancel refresh the car and it says added to list

Love the app! Lots of fun and you meet car enthusiasts in your area. I have posted over 6,000 cars in 6 months. Anything goes! Wether it’s your personal fleet or every interesting spot you see. There are Many ways of uploading cars wether by vin or by plate.(only US plate work on PL82VIN) and please don’t posts cars to the missing connections

I have found VinWiki to be a very useful app for checking out the provenance of vehicles I buy or look to buy. Many times CARFAX and others don't tell the entire story of the car and VinWiki does a great job of providing insight on the previous ownership of a car. Well done!

I find this app fun to post random cars and see what others are posting about cars. It’s a fun idea. But the app often glitches out, and doesn’t load anything. (Not a network issue) I feel like it could use a slight refresh on how it works. But it’s a cool idea! I hope to see better improvements soon. Sense it’s been almost the same sense it came out.

The app is a great idea but desperately needs some very core features to really make it a worthwhile community experience These are some of the features that it currently lacks that it very critically needs. -Being able to edit posts and comments -posting photos in comments -adding multiple photos to a post -being able to pm other users -being able to delete a post That being said the idea is very fun. There are more ambitious ideas that would be great to have on here like events or whatever but I feel like there are certain very core elements missing that keep it from being more than a curiosity.

Love the creator and idea of the app. Great tool to remember the mods/maintenance you’ve done to your car for yourself or the next person to own it. Also a great tool for keep track of rare/neat/special cars as it was intended.

This app is easy to use and meet other people. Car people can come together in one place. You can also track down a certain car by sightings using the lists and vins on the app. Great app overall!

I stuck with the fact that there was no instant messaging, no likes, no subcategories or tabs to see who you follow along with quite a few other things it’s needed. Then it apparently crashed site wide and deleted HUNDREDS of histories of the cars I’ve tracked from car shows along with an extensive history of my own vehicles. I’m not willing to take hours to re-enter all the histories.

App was presented to have a “CarFax” like wealth of information about cars. I searched 4 vins and only one could be found. Of the one that was found, the only info it had was a sales ad from 2017. If you like seeing pictures of cars posted by boomers that all say “Spotted on my way home,” this app is perfect for you. If you want to gain useful information about a car, this is not the spot for that.

VinWiki is a great platform for keeping up with cars and logging history. I'd say personally it's better than CarFax, or at least will be when it catches on. Obviously it's leaned more towards the exotic and high end cars, but it's really cool to keep up with interesting vehicles. Really wish there was support for Motorcycles! Maybe someday.

I finally got my car logged in. It was confusing at first, maybe a separate log your car in feature? Also iPad support so I can kick back and look at all the cars on a big hires screen. This is fun!

The app is great, but the only thing that I would add is personal massager if you want to contact someone for info on the car or may be a feedback... it will be useful if you want to contact or find the owner or location of the car...

I am an American living in Finland. We order a lot of American cars sight unseen from Japan and many of the cars are exported from America. This app makes it easy to see some history before buying a car. Very helpful.

I tried to sign up with 3 different email however not one received a account activation email. I’ve heard amazing things about this platform but I can’t seem to even set up an account. I also went though all the spam folders to check if it possibly went there with no success. Maybe there’s a bug or something.

Like I said, no updates in 2 years. Still hasn’t been updated to the iPhone X aspect ratio. Will not load my profile page or any of my posts (all of which work on desktop). Of course, it’ll load OTHER people’s posts just fine; when it feels like it that is. For a company whose entire stated goal is to provide this service, it’s impressive how broken it is.

I’ve been using VINWiki for about a year now. Last week it said my session timed out and to log back in. Upon logging back in, all of my posts are gone. Everything. It still shows my post count as 75+, but they’re not in my feed, and the cars I’ve posted to no longer have my posts. How disappointing. If this isn’t fixed, I probably won’t keep using the app.

Would be nice to search by car~ Basically treat it like an auto-tempist car search (by brand, model etc) A user submission for User feedback ~ or a report button for bugs would be great.

Great community and all around awesome idea. I just ask for a way to delete vehicles from lists and completely delete a post you made if you messed up the vin.

I love the idea, a user based car fax. The problem it’s very spammy, lot of people just post garbage on garbage cars. Lots of functions you’ld think it should have, but it doesn’t. Has some functions it should never have: such as ability to edit someone else’s master image on a car or the master entry of that car. I’m using the platform because I’d like to see it become what it should, but right now it’s not very good.

I love this app very much, lets me log my car. Like a social media just for cars. Only wish their was a newer update and that it was supported on ipad, and kept previous posts.

Great app!! I love the idea of vinwiki. One issue which is why it gets 4 stars, when I go to my profile, it says I have 13 posts, but I can’t see any of my posts. It seems as if I have never posted any VIN for any cars (I know I have posted 13 cars)

This App is an amazing app. It’s good for looking at amazing cars. I use it all the time and would recommend it to others. One downside is that it isn’t full screen on the iPhone X, XR, and XS/XS max. Other than that it’s an amazing app!

I loved this app, I had 95 posts and posted every time I found a cool car. That was fine until the database was lost and all of my posts are gone. This app is supposed to be a way to keep track of vehicles history but that doesn't work when your database is erased. The app is also broken in that I can't look at my followers, who I follow, and cars I follow. It used to be an amazing app, now it's just broken.

This is a brilliant app I hope more word gets out of this app as the more users, the more history of all the vehicles on the road. I love it.

When I’m doing research on cars I like to get as much information as possible from as many sources as possible. Talking to owners direct is usually the best.

I’m a car guy, I like knowing all things where our car is, this app is perfect. It also helps me too document my car’s history. Nothing compares

Been a loyal user over the last few years, love the app. But things I’ve noticed are: 1. You can’t search for lists you don’t follow, 2. The app bugs out more than it should. 3. The App doesn’t show every vehicle that you put into a list: ex; I have a list of 346 cars, but I only count 180 or so that are actually visible in said list. Not helpful when I’m trying to document things, or create mini registries. Please address these things soon.

Great site...but I wish you could like posts and reply to comments. Basically, I wish it had more of the functions that the big social media sites have.

The VINWIKI guys are true car guys. The app has tons of uses. Fun fact: it’s the only plate to vin converter that’s free-and it’s an unadvertised extra. I was able to find the vin to a car I owned 10 years ago.

Really loving what Ed and the devs at VINwiki have improved with the new update. Looks far less antiquated and is much more usable now!
