Purchasing of Lemur & Bugs
So I just recently purchased the lemur in hopes of gaining a ton of Magic because my villagers weren’t gathering any and the crafting hut said “Cannot be gathered at this time”, and while I’m away for a few days, it collects a lot of items that you can craft with, which is what I expect. However, and I don’t know if this is a bug or not, but when I’m gone for only a few hours/close to a day at a time, I come back to only tech points/food being collected. It feels like a waste at this point because I have to be on the app for an hour before it’ll collect any Magic. Then wait for the game to save itself, which takes forever, for it to be available to me. Not to mention I previously completed the blue statue puzzle in the game and had to exit the app before the saving icon in the top right corner could finish and now i have to wait for another jump potion to complete it again. Honestly, though, despite the bugs/money needed to get faster results, the game is great. I love that it’s different from the other versions, however I wish there was an option to stop time like in previous versions. Thanks for your time!

Takes too long but fun
This game is a really nice concept, and it’s a lot of fun to play. However, everything takes much too long to complete because all of the crafting times take so long, and in order to have more than one crafting station open you need a lot of diamonds that are hard to get unless you want to pay a significant amount of money. If you could trade in tech points for lava Stones, especially since once you upgrade everything there’s no use for tech points anymore, It would be a lot better. Even if it was like 5 million tech points for 100 lava Stones, which would still take a long time to accumulate, it will be better than nothing at all. The puzzles are fun to solve and play, but once again they take days and days to finish because some of the crafting times are anywhere from 10 hours to over 24 hours, and you’re given just the one station to work with unless, again, you want to pay almost $30-40 to get enough lava Stones to upgrade to have the other two stations open. So, while I really enjoy the game, you have to be very very patient when playing it and it has to be a game you just play for a few minutes once a day because you’re going to have to wait until the following day to be able to move on with most of the puzzles once you start getting to the heart of puzzles.

I keep having to start over!
I used to really enjoy playing the older versions of virtual villagers, although I haven’t played in a few years, but something I don’t remember happening in the older games is having nearly all my villagers die after more than 12 hours away from the game, or going to sleep with villagers age 30-something and waking up to them aged 60+ so I don’t know if the time in this game is faster than older versions but it seems to be the same speed when playing. I’d just like to be able to go for half a day without playing the game and not have my entire village die before even having a chance to get enough tech points to get new technologies! I’ve restarted my game twice now and if I come back to my villagers dead again tomorrow I’ll be so frustrated I won’t even want to play the game. The first time I had to restart my 4 villagers died overnight and I only had 1500 tech points, I didn’t even start farming yet! The second time I had just unlocked the first farming and construction technologies and my 3 female villagers had babies and were in their 20s, the next day I checked on them and only the kids are still alive and are in their 20s... now I’m sure there are plenty of people out there who want to stare at their phone all day long playing games but I’m not one of those people, I spend more time NOT on my phone than on it.

Boring
I’m not sure whose idea it was to create this game but fail. I’ve been playing VV since I was a kid and never have I ever been so underwhelmed by anything. The format of this game is so annoying because it has the elements of LDW games we love but with the greediness of a P2P game. I downloaded VV 5 at the same time and finished that one today while barely making progress in this one. And this is after purchasing the starter pack so I can only imagine how boring it is without it. The truth is that this game is TOO slow. I play a lot of real time games and never have I been able to come check in once or twice a day and not be able to make any type of progress. The amount of tech points required to just get to level two is ridiculous. The amount of trial and error and the fact that you have to wait in between gathering resources. And then guess combinations. And then do more waiting as it is crafted. Just sooooooo many elements put into this game that scream overkill and desperation for money. Tip: if y’all are going to make a game that is “long term”, there needs to be some type of reward system (easier to accomplish mini puzzles, clear goals and instructions, longer descriptions about tech upgrades and what they bring) in place so your players don’t feel like they’re wasting their time. And it’s even more evident that this game was made strictly for profit because it doesn’t even have the same speed up capabilities as the others. So disappointing.

Too many glitches, had to stop playing
I enjoyed previous versions of VV so decided to push through and deal with several problems with this game but finally reached my limit when I lost hours of progress (a villager had just retrieved the ruby using the jump potion that took 10 hours to make) when I suddenly got an error screen showing a restart button that left me no option other than to click it. When I got the game open again the ruby was back up in the original location and my jump potion was gone. I get that the goal is to play the long game here but losing a key item that took 10 hours to make was just the straw that broke the camels back. Other issues that have made the game quick frustrating to play: - Not optimized for iPhone 11: you can’t read what the villagers are doing at the bottom of the screen or see the part of the game behind the front camera piece. - Ads come on at increasingly irritating times: initially the game would only play an ad when you clicked on crafting hut or agreed to watch an ad to gain lava stones/tech points, but over time the ads started popping up any random time, like in the middle of dragging a villager to do something important, and by the time the ad was done the villager wasn’t there and you had to go find them again. Overall I really wanted to like this game, but it just needs to be less glitchy for me to enjoy it.

Interesting, but far from complete.
I would like to preface this by saying, I have loved the concept of these games, and the earlier ones were a good challenge. It took almost no time to have a stable supply of food and tech points. My people never starved, the only thing I really did need in this game is to wait for the crafting timers to be done to proceed, get people to master skills by repeatedly only letting them work on one thing and waiting on tech points. One such thing is how sometimes, your villagers will pop up in places they can’t get out of when you open the app. Another is how some ads won’t give you anything despite the timer being finished. I have been told and seen on from others who have this app that there should be something to pop up at times to let you watch an ad to shorten crafting times, but I never get that option. I have to agree with an earlier review as well, getting tech points and food from the cracks after having bought the lemur is rather frustrating, as I have no need for it, and likely never will. On one last note, when I pause the game, it should pause the daily login bonus as well, but it doesn’t. If there is some way to patch or fix these issues, please do so.

Random Ads, Semi money trap
As someone who’s played every virtual villagers multiple times, I dont recommend this one. Its fine but its not as good as the other virtual villagers or virtual families mainly because every time you open the app theres a random ad that you have to watch part of. Recently ive been getting ads that i have no way of closing so I can’t even play the game anymore. It takes WAY too long for most crafting things because they expect people to get impatient and spend money on gems. Also the amount of tech points it takes to get past the first tier is kind of ridiculous. It goes from needing 17k-22k tech points to needing like 170k+ for the second level. They offer a stork thing to help keep the poisonous frogs under control and a lemur to go into these earthquake cracks to get things like food, crafting materials, gems. Ive bought the lemur because at first it would bring like 5000units of food and a bunch of gems but after you buy it, it barely finds anything of worth or that could actually make a difference. Its just sad to see a company that used to make great games that werent money traps and didnt have unwanted ads to have turned into a company that makes money trap, constant pop up ad games.

Too many ads
While investigating the island is fun and the story is good, there are too many ads, and some of the puzzles are impossible to solve without knowing what they are and at least a hint on what you are supposed to do. Also the crafting takes way too long. Two days is much too long for crafting an item especially if you have to do it three times to complete a single puzzle. Unless you like ads you will not be happy with this. Every time you log in and every time you collect an item from the craft hut you will get an ad, up to 30 seconds long. They pop up at other times too. Sometimes at crucial times. Like when you make a mistake you have to fix right away but can’t because an ad popped up. You will also be asked to spend more money to buy things that will make it a little more convent. You already paid for the game. There are already ads that should not be on it and now they want you to pay more? Therefore I cannot in good conscience recommend this game to anybody and will probably never buy a game from this place again.

I really like this game
I only previously played the first virtual villagers game and I rather loved it despite the waiting, but I always felt worried I’d miss something important and so left it on pause a lot when I wasn’t actively watching it. (Maybe because I frequently played on double speed) This, since it doesn’t have double speed, has forced me to slow down and let it run in the background and I find I’m enjoying it a lot more. I love the crafting element to bring some extra manual effort into a mostly wait-and-watch simulation and I’m not put off by the lava stones (actually I haven’t seemed to run into an ‘ad cap’ so I got the first crafting hut upgrade on my second day of playing while farming ads and watching tv). Though I do wish I could get the lemur or heron houses without real money. I can’t afford to spend any money sadly as I am unable to work and so have no income. Wish I could support your studio by buying one of the upgrades or the other games in your series that weren’t free but I simply don’t have the funds even for something as small as $10. That said it’s still a fun free game and an improvement over the first one.

Good, but too focused on crafting
I enjoy the game, but feel that it strays too far from other Virtual Villagers games with the crafting. At first, it was fun, but I think the crafting quickly takes over the game. The amount of time it takes things to craft doesn’t make sense with the pace of the rest of the game. I shouldn’t be able to finish repairing three buildings before I can even make a single forge bucket. I amassed millions of tech points waiting for things to finish crafting to complete the statues, and now with chapter two, I quickly maxed out all of the technologies and am once again waiting for things to finish crafting. Meanwhile, I see no purpose for my villagers. I think there should be more puzzles that don’t require as much crafting. Side note, why are all these villagers white? They should be burning up under this tropical sun. Women nursing for so long and thus not being able to become masters as quickly as man just puts real inequality into gameplay, which just seems unnecessary. Why do they have to have last names? It just makes it more apparent that you often have relatives mating.

Love the game, but I do wish some things were different..
I love all of these games, Virtual Villagers And Virtual families, they’re all so fun to play! I also like how this one gives you the option to do in app purchases, unlike the other games (I think), but everything is so expensive and I definitely agree with other players, it does take WAY longer to accumulate tech points and craft items. Although I do think that the crafting is a nice new feature but I feel like it just takes over the game, everything is pretty much centered around being able to craft items. I think that instead of real money, we should be able to purchase items with the lava stones (special items like the lemur and bird etc.) and tech points for other items (crafted items, items to craft with) rather than spending 10 dollars on some lava stones and then using those to get tech points. I also wish there were more buildings and what not to build. But something I do enjoy is that you can spin the wheel to get an instant adept farmer, perfect villager etc., however I wish we could just pick which one we wanted instead of trying to spin and get the exact one you want, that’s a lot of lava stones. But overall I love the game and gameplay! It has the same feel and graphics of the older ones! I love it and will always play these games!

PLEASE FIX BUG FIXES ERASING PROGESS
I love this game, I play everyday. I am a huge fan of last day of work productions, however, with this particular model of game, there seems to be a little bit of an issue. I will complete tasks like watching ads for lava stones/ tech points, craft items, watch ads to decrease time of crafting, and other common things. The game continues to buffer, restart without permission, play multiple ads in a row, play ads without reward, and when these glitches are occurring, it will erase my crafted items even after they have already been placed- in this example my clay bricks. I had already gotten a master builder to place the bricks and when this started occurring, it took my bricks and erased the progress. I don’t usually have issues with the games from this developer, however, today I have been experiencing major problems so much that I can’t even play for long periods of time. Keeps sending error codes and messages to my screen every time I try to do one of these things. And also, I believe I paid for this version and it still flashes ads on my screen throughout my gameplay, what’s up with that? If I wanted watch ads with no reward, I would download LITE. please fix. Please please please. I don’t like losing my clay bricks. Very annoyed.

Keep losing crafts that take days to make
I have been playing the virtual villagers games for years and have just loved them. This one has been very frustrating to say the least. First I crafted the jumping potion and as I had someone walking it to the Ruby, the game had to suddenly restart due to some type of error and when I came back it was gone. It had completely disappeared. That was super frustrating because I had to find all of the magic, wait for it to craft and then it was nowhere to be found. Then I crafted the yellow glass which takes quite a while to craft, I believe 2 day’s just to make the glass, not including the stuff to make it. As I was walking someone to bring that to the yellow statue my game went black and it also disappeared!! I wish if let’s say a character dropped a craft, it could be picked up rather than just disappear! I would really like to play this game but it’s disappointing when you work hard at something and you just can’t complete the objectives. I have also ran into many times where you craft rope and have a villager bring it to a crack and they investigate it but nothing happens. They don’t find or collect anything. Very frustrating!!!!!

Disproportionate game speed
I have tried to enjoy this game but find it is significantly disproportionate. It has dozens of glitches and it effects how fun it is. As someone who has loved all Virtual Villagers games in the past, this one is not given as much care as ones in past. List of gripes include: cannot read font at bottom of screen and was told by tech support to await an update. This error is years in the making since the iPhone loss the Home Screen button many years ago. Also, when making the elements, often i come back to the game and it was reset and they didn’t finish cooking. However, my tribe still ages and dies and i in turn lose my progress or ability to make it in a timely manner. Also, my game has disappeared multiple times. When it disappears, it’s fine for 4/5 days before tech support has helped me fix it. When it comes back, my people have kept aging and dying and now I’m unable to have babies because my tribe is too old which means i have to use lava stones to reincarnate dead tribe members. I just want to finish the puzzles, but the speed of age vs speed of everything else is highly disproportionate

This is a game of figure it out and patience
Hint: Click on your villagers and they will lead you to things by being curious about something or looking at something.... Also, check out the puzzle page. Yes, this game is tough...ok, down right brain teasing at times and takes forever BUT, it’s addicting. Plus, to be able to say you figured it all out should come with a gold medal!!! Why? Because this game is hard to solve!!!! You have to think! Nothing is handed to you like in other puzzle games- Yes, you have hints on the game board- like statues and such but, you really have to work for it over a long period of time. Real time- the game goes with actual clock time but, you can pause the game in settings. Just try it if you like hard puzzles- I’ve been with this company and this game since the very first and solved them all.....Good Luck! Break out the Villager in you and solve the puzzles!!!!!! Last Day of Work....you rock!!!!! Bring it on guys- waiting to solve the next VV scenario!!!!! LOL

I love this game series
I’ve always loved this game series, but there are a few things I wish were different.. like, knowing what level technologies unlock what.. or what skill level they have to be.. how to know when certain things will show up, like the fish collectible.. not like what minute of every hour but more like every few hours only during the day.. and the panning for gold.. still don’t know when that’ll be unlocked.. maybe some hints would help. But I love how we can change the names and get tech points by watching videos! Also getting certain things by watching videos.. I also wish we could have different games saved so we could do more than one tribe at a time. I also think having the lemur as a daily prize for when you get to a certain amount of days in a row would be cool! Also if you’ve already crafted something once before I feel like it should say how long it takes to craft and the fertilizer for the garden.. that bugs me.. sorry for the long review but other than that I’ve always loved this gaming series.. and always try the games whenever I can! Thanks

Too time consuming
This game is as great as the previous versions however it takes too long to craft the items you need to progress. It takes way too many tech points to get to each level. You have to keep many researchers to get to them. You don’t really get any clues to what you need to do to achieve the puzzles and some of the items you need to craft other items to solve puzzles you can only get from the cracks and that’s rare (like magic). Since you are limited on the number of villagers unless you purchase an increase, once you achieve all levels your villagers live longer but can’t have children after 50. So you can let villagers die by poisonous frogs and hope some villagers are young enough to still have kids OR if you buy heron? to keep the frogs away then eventually all your villagers die of old age and there are no more people. I’ve spent too much money on lava stones to which now there is no point to keep playing because I produce less and less kids after reaching all levels and solving all puzzles. I guess my village will become extinct. Bye bye little village :(

Too time consuming with minimal to none guidance
The game looked interesting so I tried it out and quickly I found myself lost at knowing what to do. From the reviews many seemed to have played previous versions of the game so they seem to know at least the fundamentals, but as a first time player I just couldn’t understand what steps to make to improve in the game and to unlock the puzzle pieces. The only improvement I saw was when I waited few hours to log back on so the people have improved at their skills, but regardless of that after almost a week I still didn’t have enough technology or resources to repair more buildings and to start some sort of farming and there is no guidance on what to do to get the right resources. Then due to work I couldn’t play the game for one day just to find all of my villagers dead the next day. A little extreme don’t you think? I’ve reached out to customer service asking if there’s a way I could get some more/better instructions on how to play, but after almost 5 days of no response I’m just deleting the game as it is too time consuming with no real direction or help on improving in the game.

Speechless
One of my villagers had a baby with her dad. Ok game tho I've been playing virtual villagers games for years. I know the whole lavastone thing is partly LDW's way of adapting to the way game apps make money these days but they are really kind of annoying. And every time I do the wheel spin for the villagers it gives me horrible options, forcing me to keep going lest I f@¢k up my dudes. I think for something that costs that much it shouldn't be mostly things that would inhibit you. I mean it's 5 lavastones Also, I've never seen tech upgrades be so costly and my villagers generate tech points so slowly before. I've probably watched hundreds of ads by now because it's so much faster than my master researchers. That was never an issue in previous VV games I played. I guess we all need to make money somehow though. Overall it is a good game but I'm nostalgic for being a very young kid and playing virtual villagers offline on my PC, no extra purchases necessary to improve gameplay. I also miss being able to change the speed of the game.

Latest update
I was enjoying this game although it does take a very long time to solve the puzzles because items take so long to craft and it is very expensive to buy upgrades, so you can be able to craft several things at once. I am disappointed though after this update because several glitches have happened in my village. My perfect villager (who I spent quite a bit to get) is no longer perfect, my tech scores are all wrong and says I have maxed them out but they are not colored all the way, I spun the wheel for a villager and received giant head and master gatherer and neither one added to my villager. I put items to craft and left the game and when I returned they were not there in the crafting bowl. There are more things but are too many to list. I am most disappointed because I have spent real money on this game and there is nothing I can do to remedy these issues. I will play a while longer because I recently purchased more lava stones but may quit after they are used -since so much I already achieved has been lost.

Fun for a few weeks at best
Not only does it get boring since you have to wait days for things to be made, but there is not much else to do after you complete most of the puzzles. To get a master gatherer takes way too much time and it honestly just needs more, and it shouldn’t take time to craft things because that’s just a way of basically using your money for nothing, because lava stones are super expensive and you get only one when you watch an ad and there is a limited amount of ads you can watch before you get sick of it. It’s also annoying when most of my villagers are dead except for some elders and I have to start with brand new people who aren’t that skilled and don’t want to work as much. However, at first the game is quite fun and figuring out how to solve the puzzles and stuff is entertaining. I just wish I had a reason to complete the game like you get more puzzles or something when you complete the first set. Just a suggestion from someone who has been a fan of these games for a very long time.

Not feeling it.
I have played most the vv out there and I liked most if them. The crafting in the game is horrible. I hate looking up recipes. Getting a 30 second ad every time it failed was painful. Needing to spam fertilizer and ropes kills the fun. trying to get a char up to chieftain is going to take 4 incarnations(or less if you aim for it much later in the game). As the game progresses you get even more ads spam... The content is poorer then All the other vv. Less voice overs. Wrong voice overs.( 2yr old girl sounds like deep old man) less animation for ages older and old as hell. The “boxes” to interact with things is bad. ( Also had 3 villagers bug out behind the waterfall) the research makes the smallest jump forwards.(Also no new benches, research tables, ect. per rank-up. Research camp is a cluster feck.) when you do achieve something it’s super underwhelming. Why am I using children as snake bait and catching poison frogs? In short if it were not a vv brand game it could be alright... Just like most ftp games it’s killing the good brand it had. It’s content, graphics, sound, story and stability is just so meh. Might as well call it VV IDLE the isles of spam.(not the edible kind)

3 star explanation
I want to give this game 5 stars. I love to play, BUT... it takes wayyyyy to long to make the things you need to complete the challenges, there’s no explanation or help for the puzzles your just on your own to figure things out. Lava stones are a must have so unless you willing to spend your own money to buy them or spend your day watching game previews to get them, the only other way is to cross your fingers and hope they come from the occasional earthquake. Now skill point to level up each individual skill 🙄. The second and third level require a ridiculous amount of points. I get that the game has to make money somewhere so I won’t complain to much but it is a lot of points, and it takes days to accumulate them. The game can get a bit boring waiting to upgrade enough to move on to the next step. I think we should be able to upgrade our huts as to accommodate more villagers and Mother’s should nurse for a shorter period of time. I love to play the game but it needs a few tweaks.

Want to watch ads? Then this is for you
I loved when this game was on my pc years ago so I decided to relive that memory. Well after getting halfway through the game they decide to make me watch an ad whenever I open the game, but wait it gets better. It’s not when you first open the game but a random time after startup so whatever you are doing forget it you gotta find the villager you were trying to work with after watching a random 15-30 second ad. You want to craft something, but spend some well earned lava rocks to speed it up, tough luck there dude, you gotta watch a 30 second ad. Finished crafting something without spending money on rocks or watching ads for rocks, you also gotta watch some ads. I can handle watching ads under my own free will if I want some free stones, but don’t make me watch an ad whenever I start up the game or I want to craft something. This game was great when I started, but really rubbed me the wrong way when you started pumping all these ads at me when I’m halfway done it. It’s either suffer with ads to finish the game or do what I’m doing and just delete it and forget it.

Throttled down shell of a game
This is a dumbed down, throttled down shell of a Virtual Villagers game, made solely for people suffering from Stockholm syndrome after years of free-to-download pay-to-play abuse. I’ve read the developers responses to some of the criticism. They seem to love to point out that it’s a deep and complex game. It is not. Virtual Villagers used to be a group of games that had a lot of complex puzzles that could be solved with a combination of intuition and trial and error. This game completely lacks the intuition. Basically you just wait until you have stumbled across crafting something that shows up in the storage hut that has a use and the “puzzle” solves itself. And the wait time to craft these items is insane. Also, the push add to retrieve anything you’ve crafted glitches nine times out of 10, so you either have to reload the game or you lose what you’ve crafted. It’s really a shame to see Last Day at Work turning to this kind of garbage. But hey, if you’re part of the generation that long ago gave up on meaningful content at a reasonable price, this could be just the thing for you.

What the...
First off: I gave this 2 stars simply because of nostalgia. I would have given it 1, but I did enjoy the serotonin boost when I saw it. Anyways, What a load of crap. I’ve had this app for one day, heck not even one day, and I can already tell there’s mega problems. What happened to the original, good game? The game that wasn’t money hungry? I understand needing money from your creations, but Jesus. This game just screams money desperate. $100 dollars for 3,000? That only gets you one upgrade! What the heck guys. Also, only white villagers? The ability to have incestuous relationships? I’ve been scoping the reviews and responses as well. What do ya know, only automated “help responses”. Many people have asked questions and you just hit them with a “VV is definitely a deep game blah blah blah join our group!” App makers definitely don’t care about criticism or the fact that people are unhappy. As long as they keep making money, right? Don’t have to put out a genuine game as long as they give us money, right? Sad.

Good
LDW games are some of my favorite. I have been playing them on my computer more than 10 years, and happy they now have them for devices/phones. I love the new experience and def the look and graphics. Biggest pet peeve though is how long it takes for crafting. Agree with everyone else that it’s hard to complete with just 1 slot. You can Farm lava stones were sitting and watching TV and just muting adds. It takes a while and if you’re patient it works. I also dislike how long it takes to save things constantly. The wheel is always spinning and glitching that it’s saving something. I haven’t noticed a lot of island events like I’ve seen through some of the walk through pages talk about. Hopefully as I get further along, I see more. I have been playing for five days and completed the first six puzzles. Looking forward to seeing how it all turns out in the end.

WHAT EVEN IS THIS?? 😶
I downloaded this game yesterday and I have to say I’m both greatly disappointed and disgusted! First of all tech points are needed for everything in the game, like you can’t progress without it but it’s really hard to come by and my villagers can’t even stay alive long enough to give me a satisfactory amount, why do they age so fast? You can go to bed with a villager age 2 and wake up and that same villager is 16, like, what?? Secondly, the dynamics of this game really confuses me. A villager can’t just be with one person because? They literally get with everybody. The family tree is all over the place. It irks my soul that they can’t get married or copulate with just one person and the game logic is so messed up that a villager can get with their own child/children 18 years later 🤮. I saw my male villager heading to the love shack with his own mother just now and that prompted me to write this review!! Who in their right mind would allow this?? And this game is available for children starting at age 4? You developers must be deranged!!

Constantly crashes, weird on iPhone 13
Having played all the past virtual villagers games, origins 2 was the last one on my list. However I am disappointed with how this game plays. First you cannot see the text at the bottom of the screen. The phone blocks it with the white line that indicates the bottom of the screen, so you don’t know what your villagers are doing. Secondly, the game crashes every time I collect the item I crafted. Whether the craft failed or was successful every time it crashes. Crafting seems to be a big part of this game, and it is absolutely frustrating to have to go through the whole log in screen every time I need to craft. The game is so much fun, but these two things are truly hindering the experience. I don’t really mind the ads either, I would love to watch an ad if it means I get extra lava stones and whatnot, but the mechanics of the game are the issue.

Fun but…
Ok I love this game but it only has white people are the creators raises do the hate people that are black. I love ❤️ the game but when I play the game it makes me feel bad 😢 because I’m black. So pls put some black skinned villagers in the game and that would make me sooooooo happy 😃 like this happy🙂👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽😍😍😍😀😀😀😃😃😃😃😄😄😁😁😁😆😆😆👧🏾👧🏾👧🏾👧🏾👧🏾👧🏾👧🏾👧🏾👧🏾👧🏾👧🏾👧🏾👧🏾👧🏾😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👧🏾👧🏾👧🏾👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽😁😁😁👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👧🏾👧🏾👧🏾👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽😁😁😁👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👧🏾👧🏾👧🏾👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽😁😁😁👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽😃😃😃👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👧🏾👧🏾👧🏾👧🏾. I am not sure how this works I wanted to write a mother review but it showed the one I did last time anyway there is still the same problem as last time but I like how in the new update the villagers look more life like. I Like how there are more different options of people now like now they have freckles and all of this cool 😎 people and stuff.

I grew up on playing the virtual villager series. However they were extremely difficult and I would find myself getting stuck on puzzles and getting confused. With this game the puzzles are so much clearer and easier to manage. The crafting aspect is really unique and fascinating to figure out. Also getting research points is a ton easier and I find myself getting more immersed in the game because I actually find myself getting excited to get farther in the game. The idea of the amulets you can spin the wheel to get is a really awesome feature and definitely makes the game better. I like the idea of the fire stones and find myself using them a lot. My only dislike is how much the upgrades cost. 10$ to spend in game is a lot of money. If there was a way to lower those costs it would be a perfect game!

Good pacing in my opinion
I have played many of the previous games and while I found them addictive, I felt like I needed to pay a lot of attention if I wanted to keep my villagers alive. Perhaps I was unable to play as often as necessary, but I found the need to restart to be so frustrating because I wanted to develop my people and allow them to succeed at learning new skills and contributing to the island society. I feel like this game nails the pacing to the point where I don’t need to check in super often, but I can check in for 30-60 minutes a day and accomplish things. I would love a chapter 2, although I am still very early into chapter 1. As a side note, I also love the creation of the crafting hut! I don’t recall previous games having such a feature, and I think it is a great addition to the game!

Ok but some issues
I recently picked this game back up because I enjoyed it the first time I played but never finished it. I forgot how frustrating it can be. Takes hours to craft one item, unless you want to pay money to open up the other two crafting baskets. 8 hours for one important item is a little much. My villagers take forever to get tech points even though I have 20/24 of them working on it. Probably because they research for about 30 seconds then wander off to do something else, rinse repeat. They never STAY at the table for very long. So needing to get over 1 million tech points for one stage of tech takes days. If I close the app entirely it feels like it takes even longer than if I let it run in the background. Other issue I’m having is I go to collect a crafted item and it gets stuck “saving the game”. I have to force close it multiple times just to stop it from staying there.

Fun and Challenging
I’ve been a fan of the other games for years. I love any type of Sim(ulated) game. Another review said it takes too long for things to get done but I prefer it that way so I’m not glued to my phone all day! It’s definitely addicting though. You can put it down but you will come back. Graphics are getting better and better. I love how you can change the outfits and there’s plenty of ways to earn free lava stones, tech points and food. Otherwise if you pay for the lava stones I feel they are asking for a respectable price. I would very much love a chapter two and I’m not even done with chapter one. I’m also hopeful of more games coming out from this developer. They have my support and my money. Always support what you like monetarily and it can only get better and better.

Mixed feelings
I love the game itself! Yes the puzzles are hard and yes I make good use of google when I’m trying to figure something out but I like the challenge. The times to wait are long and you do need a bunch of lava stones to get stuff done but hey, I get it, you have to make money somewhere whether it be from add revenue or outright purchases. That doesn’t but me, that’s how the app stays running. What bugs me are.. well the bugs. I have yet to have the gold pan appear for me and have been playing a lot. The most annoying thing is that the “salt peter” wont show up for me. While using my trusting google I have found that a fair few have come across this issue. (Poor people trying to help must think we are all idiots at this point!) Please please please fix these little bugs! I looked on your site for support so I didn’t have to leave this in a review but wasn’t able to find anywhere I could message in acts. =)

Love the game but how do you know how to do the puzzles without a walkthrough?
I loooove the game but I do think there are a few things that could be improved on... mainly some mechanics. How would you know crafting recipes without looking them up? I could understand if you got the items back at the end of crafting if the recipe doesn’t work.... but it wasn’t fun experimenting with recipes and watching my already sparse magic disappear. Same thing with the puzzles... how would I know how to do all these intricate steps without looking up a walkthrough? I totally understand it’s designed not to be too easy but steps require (this is an example, not necessarily in the game) 2 adults and 1 child... 1 master/adept builder that is also a master/adept gatherer. Seems like a pretty specific requirement without giving hints. Again, love the game! Just wish I didn’t have to look up the walkthrough to be able to complete puzzles.

Love this game!
I love all of the Virtual Villagers games! I have been waiting years for a new one to become available to play. It is frustrating that you have to wait so long for things to be done, but that is the whole point of the game. It isn’t supposed to be played in a day or 2 or 3 like most games. I enjoy the real time experience. It can be overwhelming if u r not used to it but once u get used to it, I found that I look forward to checking the progress of my villagers each day (or twice a day) and performing tasks needed at that time. If u realize this game is a LONG drawn out game, u will enjoy it more! Look forward to what ur villagers will be able to do instead of what they can’t do because it takes too long. Looking forward to the next installment with lots of eagerness!!!

I love this game!
The quality is SO improved in comparison to the first game. I like the new island set up, and even how you can choose/have more freedom to pick what skills your villagers have. The game overall is enjoyable— it’s a lot less easy to have your villagers die, they’re a lot more independent, which I appreciate because I don’t have to be on it 24/7. I also love the naming feature! A great addition. The only thing I would suggest for he future is to make an apprenticeship system— like, you can pair up an adult and a young one so that the little one has a little experience in a craft, AND the adult would gain teaching experience. The villager with the most experience would be named chief/shaman or whatever.

Crashes a lot but is a good game, not
I’m on ipad pro and the game gets hung up saving which it seems to do constantly and if you try to watch a video, it gets stuck saying it’s saving but you have to close out the game to get it to stop which means you don’t get a video reward. I’m enjoying the game when it’s playable as I have all the virtual villager games. It’s exciting to see Last Day of work still working. Just please fix. Edit: The game moves slow but I’m ok with that since that means I get to play for longer. I replayed the originals several times in the last 15 years or so. Also, the lemur is well worth the 9.99 since you can’t make enough rope for all the cracks and he’s always finding me good stuff. Edit: After 16 days still no master healer or chief. The lemur was a mistake since it finds food. I didn’t buy the heron fortunately since I’ve seen only 4 frogs in 16 days. It’s getting old. My game is broken and unfixable. I spin and spin but get nothing I need.

Great game, but...
I was addicted to VV: A New Home on my desktop back in the day, so I downloaded this for my iPad. I really like this game, but it is very buggy. Ads usually cause the game to crash or malfunction in a way I have to exit and restart. After each item I craft, an ad pops up. Also, with all the ads you’d think there would be more rewards, but no, just bugs. I also wonder what all the fireflies are for. Only thing mentioned in the forums thus far is holiday lights. It also takes way too long to accomplish tasks, unless you are willing to spend a small fortune for upgrades. I’m starting to think the only way I can advance in this game is to spend money. I would be willing to spend $.99 here or there for lavastones, but it would have to be for more than is currently offered. Also, anything more than 5,000 or 6,000 tech points for the first tech level is excessive since it takes so long to accumulate points.

Important information covered by home bar
So, I’ve had a guilty joy of the virtual villagers series since the first one released way back when and have just discovered to my joy that they still are keeping it going. However, my joy was cut short when I discovered that all the important text of the game that tells you things like what the villager you have selected is doing or why they can’t do a certain thing is completely covered up by the home bar on iPhone X, XR, XS, etc. Apple has decided to not give us an option to hide this bar despite complaints about it for quite a long time. Since they are not changing it, it would be wonderful to see this app still be playable on newer phones. I can’t really enjoy playing it if I have to blindly fumble around. Please just move the text up by a few centimeters and it will be perfect. Until then... I can’t really recommend it to anyone with an iPhone X or newer.

I loved this game as a kid but...
I used to play this game (the original version) about 15-20 years ago on my pc. Now that I wanted to play it again, I found origins 2... I have had this game for a single day and already, this game freezes and doesn’t save even when you hit save... but all the stones (or whatever they are called) that it uses to upgrade villagers are gone even though the skills that you spin for and receive(!) and all the upgrades disappear. I had a master builder, disappeared, perfect villager, disappeared, a master farmer, disappear. The villagers are there but the skills are gone and the cost of upgrading them did not return to my account. I had resources gathered, flames lit, water shell built, this game freezes when I clicked on the Eagle and I lost every dang thing I spent over an hour doing! I am honestly close to deleting this app if this bs continues. . .

Issue with dialogue on iPhone 11 and Review
Please fix the issue with the dialogue section at the bottom of the screen on IPhone 11 (and probably X too). You can’t see the description of what the villagers are doing because the “close window” bar covers it up. I couldn’t find a way to fix this. I love the VV games and have enjoyed all of them, but unfortunately this one seems too focused on money with all the in app purchases that you almost have to make move the game along unless you want to wait literally forever to get anything accomplished. I like the previous VV games where you paid a one time fee and got everything you needed to complete the game in a reasonable amount of time. I really wish it was like those. Seems Last Day of Work has gotten a bit greedy and turned a great game into just another money hungry app. :(

Require too much money
Tech point are not earned . I finally gave in a said I will purchase the 4.99 for 125 STONES 😂. Lol still to much for a freaking game token but anyway. The stones allowed me to upgrade technology for farming , building etc to help with the CRAFTING PROCESS. I was able to obtain 43,000 tech point from a trade which allowed me to upgrade the farming. Why is the next upgrades 200,000 , 110,000,160,000? To buy even 35,000 tech points you need 300 lava stones and 300 lava stones are $10 , so if I was to upgrade the “CRAFTING “ again ( which We am required to do just to create more combinations so we are able to trade to ACHIEVE MORE TECH POINTS) we would have to spend $50 ONLY for 200,000 tech point that WILL be gone in ONE BUY JUST ONE. Watching the (free tech points videos provides 17 tech points why 17 idk but seriously?

Way.... tooooo.... sloooowww.....
I like the game concept. I’ve been playing VV games for many years and I’ve liked them all. But I don’t know if I’ll be continuing this one. It just takes way, way, way, WAY too long to do anything. You need 4,000 points just for the cheapest technology upgrade (and WAY more than that for others), and after a couple of hours with 2 out of my 5 starting villagers working solely on research, I only have 217. I mean... it’s gonna take many hours just to upgrade ONE type of technology ONE time. Of course, I could pay to upgrade, but where’s the fun in just paying for everything? I just seems like a lot of work for little reward. I don’t want to complete the whole game in a day or two, but this just feels excruciating. I can’t seem to unlock ANYTHING without upgrading research, so it’s literally just a waiting game. Not fun. Not a fan of this new structure.

I’m confused
Can someone tell me why there’s no diversity in this game? Like, the actual gameplay is fun but it’s literally all white peoples (no offense to any white person lol). I’m assuming this game would take place on a pacific island or something so why would they be all white? I’ve noticed this pattern throughout ur games like virtual families. Neither of them have any diversity and it’s kind of tiring at this point. I love playing this game and taking care of these villagers but I’d love to see an update where there’s more villager appearances. I’d love to see some with darker skin and more ethnic appearances. I know I’m not the only one who’s disappointed in the lack of diversity here. Another thing unrelated to that rant: pls include family trees so I can see who’s nursed who lol. I’m not sure how I feel about the ability to breed with whoever u want regardless of parental origins.

Love it but some bugs are becoming bothersome
I’m now in survival mode, with a Reckoning plague having fallen over my villagers. My iPad accidentally (sneakily) updated to the latest version the other night - 15.1. I’m not sure that’s when the problems got worse but it’s possible. When I’m crafting something, be it 5 minute vines, something that takes 8 hours, or something I’ve used lava stones to speed up, completing the item just doesn’t work well. It tells me it’s saving the game, but then hangs. If I leave the game and come back in, I’ll either find the bowl empty if I’ve waited long enough, or it still says it is complete. Before the iOS update, it was touch and go as to whether it would insist on saving or not. But saving would take under a minute or so. 10 minutes is not unheard of. The Plague survival mode is tough as there are few opportunities for a villager to get any healing skills. No frogs, and they are rarely officially “sick”. Yet things can’t proceed without a villager with enough healing skills. Nobody can administer a vaccine.

Great game and good customer support
I’ve been enjoying this game for several weeks now. It takes longer to make big progress than the other games, but I think that’s great. I also like that there’s a second chapter of puzzles. The one issue that I’ve been having is with the crafting hut. Sometimes I’ll start crafting something and come back hour later to find that the game didn’t save and says I never started crafting it. After crafting enough things to get the red glass (which takes several days to get there), the game deleted the glass and the items needed to make it. I reached out to the Customer support and they quickly responded and fixed the issue.

Update for newer iPhones?
I love this game I’ve played it on and off for years now, but now that I have an iPhone without a home button I have a white bar at the bottom of the game screen where all of the information about each villager is shown (example- “______ is to young to farm!”) luckily since I’ve played for a bit I know what some of them say, but now when trying to complete puzzles or other things I’m not sure why my villager can’t do certain things. If there could be an update to move the info bar up slightly or if there’s a way to remove my white “home screen bar” please help me out! Other than that new “bug” I’ve found, I love this game and there’s always something new going on with it. I like that it’s a game that continues while you’re gone so that time can pass and you can still improve while you’re away. I would give this review 5 stars but I want the problem to be noticed.

Keeps taking away Tech Points, Food and Ads pop up
I don’t know if this game is not compatible with the new iPad, but I have contacted the Support Team a couple of times and they have not got a solution for the problems. I read the reviews before writing this to see if others have the same problems and see the problems have been going on for a few years so I don’t think it’s the 8th Gen iPads. I played all the earlier versions and enjoyed them for years but I don’t know if they would work now. I’m just getting frustrated like others at losing myTech points when I haven’t used them and all Food disappearing along with new Ads popping up now as soon as I start the game and find half my villagers are sick and as soon as I find a Healer and start to carry them to the sick. Ads when I try to start a craft. I’m glad I haven’t spent money yet, because I was going to in order to progress.
