The app is straight forward to the everyday user. In regards to simply checking the amount of your different accounts and their individual transactions. With a single click on what account you want to look at, it’ll show your current balance, recent transactions and the specific details of them (time, date, location, company potentially an automated category programmed by the app), plus it shows the difference between the money amount from the previous transaction (if that makes sense). Also what credits/debits are pending along with the amount and anticipated settlement date. I’d say it’s a good app to use if all you want to do is check your account amount and transactions. It does have additional information and features that do take some effort and ability, but the call center is helpful when you need answers. In all, it’s a good app.
We do everything through the app. We moved to an area where the closest VFCU is 4+ hours away. We have never opened an account with a local bank or credit union as there is no need to do so. There is only one transaction that can’t be done with the app… if you have a check that exceeds the limit for Express Deposit, you can go to a reciprocal credit union to make the deposit to your Visions account. A list of reciprocal credit unions in your local area are available on the Visions website. This was also explained to us by Visions prior to our move. I doubt we will ever open another account because Visions continually improves the capabilities in their app. We don’t use much cash, but when we need to replenish, there are ATMs nearby that don’t charge a fee.
Ever snce I moved from New Jersey to Florida I have had several disappointments regarding trying to transfer money from my Vision Federal Credit Union to sister bank in Florida, MidFlorida Credit Union in Cape Coral. You will see my problems in my records as I’m tired of repeating the issues over and over again. End request is that I am trying to connect both credit unions in order to transfer money in between both credit unions! Rather than continue to extremely aggravating myself attempting to do that on my own with repeated problems perhaps you could contact Midflorida Credit Union in Cape Coral. They will have my account information for Mary Rojas and you have my account information for Mary Rojas and perhaps you can successfully figure this out between the two of you rather than me continuing to go through this aggravating process!!!! The next step is rating this with several stars whereas you should add a minus* because that would be my choice since it is not there I’m forced to choose the first star hoping it is the lowest rating.
Since November 2019 there have been multiple updates to this software. As a result, a finely integrated smooth App has been fractured into pieces that no longer function for Apple (which are all running latest IOS versions). These pieces do not have the same look, feel, and integration level of the prior system. For example as of March 1, 2020. 1. Bill Pay no longer works on iPhone 11. Does not work on Macbook. Sort of works on the iPad, but you may have to kill the APP and restart multiple times to get 1 bill paid. 2. EStatements download of statements does not work at all on IOS devices. An update in February included a “Make PDF” option which when executed makes a 1 page blank file. 3. VISA Payments was moved to LOANS. In the process the whole thing is illogical, conflicting terminology used, and clunky to say the least. Check for yourself. The most insignificant item is that Minimum Payment is also called Regular Payment of the same page. The other issues are much worse. 6 months of calls and email resulted in Visions recommending I install Google Chrome on my Apple products. Why would I trade a more secure environment for Chrome? It appears the introduction of new subcontractors are not testing with an environment that includes Apple IOS and hardware products and integrated APPs like Safari. This problem is forcing me to evaluate options to move my accounts to another credit union.
Since I have many of my accounts an auto pay, there is sometimes confusion about which Chase credit card account is responsible for a debit. I have to call customer service and they have the information that I need. I think that information should be available to me without making a call and waiting. Your customer service people are very patient and willing to give me the help I need to figure out where a withdrawal comes from. Being able to make a deposit even when I’m in another state is very useful. I know this isn’t your problem but the fluctuation of the Fico score puzzles me.
I’ve been highly critical of the app for years with seemingly no progress on what I’d consider to be obvious problems and usability issues. It seems someone there finally thought it worthwhile to address and I’ve seen improvements lately. Thank you! Most specifically: - Face ID finally seems to work reliability. Used to be using it once and coming back into the app you had to force close it to get back with Face ID. - Finally, after years and years of ridiculous deletions at the bottom of the app, we have now EXPRESS DEPOSIT! Wow! Thank you!!! Express deposit, make a payment and funds transfer are now right where they belong. Prominently at the bottom as real buttons. - Express deposit used to be flaky and crash regularly. The last few I’ve done now have worked flawlessly. Could it finally be fixed after over year of regular crashing?? Again, good work. Thank you for fixing. Still not a huge fan of the side scrolling account list at the top. Side scrolling isn’t helpful. It should be a list. I however do understand the reasoning behind it I just don’t care for it. It’s minor compared to the other fixes. Good work! Glad to see the improvements.
Too confusing, shuts down, repeats check pictures, cancels deposit because blurry
It too confusing can’t find loan payment info to print when needed without searching all over and still can’t find it, it was better the old way. The express deposit is a mess, kicks back deposit saying the phots are blurry, I have had to repeat deposit several times at times, also the picture of the prior checks deposits reappear on the next deposit. Deposits the check into account then withdraws it with no notification email but a week later a letter in the mail that it was withdrawn from account which may cause overdrafts for some people. While doing deposits the app closes without warning causing to restart the app and starting the process from the beginning! I’m guessing this review wasn’t never read as it came up when asked to rate the app. They need to leave things as they are, now I can’t get in and I don’t live in the area! Time leave this crazy union!
It’s impressive how perpetual issues do not get fixed and new bugs are introduced. Express Deposit will crash almost every time. After taking the second picture, it will go back to main express deposit screen, then log you out before you can submit. After new update, it logs you in to a view of the last account you were viewing, and hitting Back to Home at the top also logs you out. Funds transfer is unusable because the drop down menus that show accounts are blank and unselectable. So basically the basic things that I use the app for are all broken. If it worked, it’d be great, but it’s a janky mess. Edit: Changing to one star because developer informed that the Express Deposit issue was resolved, but it was not. Disappointing. Update: Some issues get fixed but new ones crop up. Half the time it freezes while trying to log in.
I use the app on my iPad. For the past two weeks, I complete my bills, click submit, and then I receive a message that it can’t process my transactions. Try again. I tried several times and received the same message. Very very frustrating. I can be checking my accounts and then the app closes on me. Please take care of these issues? I hate to switch credit unions, but the app is not reliable for bill pay. I’ve also used safari to go to the web site and complete my business, and the errors still take place. I enjoy using the updated version of the app. Very easy to use.
Some of the design choices feel very short sighted and not convenient. Like swiping back sometimes take me all the home instead of just back on single menu, or how I have to go to a complete separate page to pay my credit card after checking the balance, there’s no ‘shortcut’ to pay the bill from the view balance screen. The app also loves to just ignore FaceID and makes me manually type in my password (sometimes there’s not even a use Keychain option on the keyboard) despite me having agreed to allow faster sign in with FaceID. Loading also takes ages, I’ve had the app frequently start logging in and then progress just stops outright, the only fix seems to be force closing the app.
I have been banking for 40 years and this is the best bank and App I’ve ever used. All the people I’ve interacted with, who work at Visions, are not only all very nice and extremely professional, the App - and their online banking interface - are truly the best I’ve ever used. And for reference, I’ve banked with TD bank, Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, WestAmerica Bank in California, Wells Fargo and I’ve used my wife’s HSBC which is the absolute worse EVER... and years ago I also banked with Chemical Bank (yes, I’ve been around) this is even before cell phones, lol. I can recommend this bank and App enough!!!
I hate the new app screens. I do not want to go through a first screen that shows me info I don’t care about like my credit score that only changes once a month, recent transactions as that makes no sense to me since I know what I did, or buttons for bill pay which I don’t use or requires me to select a certain number of accounts because I view and use almost all of them regularly every day and I don’t need a screen that I constantly have to go through to perform transactions. Please please return to the former format of your online banking and the former screens. I absolutely hate the new screens!!! At the very least give your customer/members the choice to stay with the old format versus the new and then you may see who likes what. The new format is wasteful of my time and discouraging to use!
I paid rent through an online service my landlord uses (on a business day, nonetheless). The landlord received the payment, but nowhere in my account, 3 days later, does this transaction show as pending or having gone through. My account shows me having close to $700 more than I know I have in there. I’m sure if I attempted to use my card for an expensive transaction, the charge would go through and then I’d get hit with an overdraft fee whenever the app decided to show the rent payment coming out. Beware, and don’t depend on this app to correctly keep track of your spending. App is basically useless for that reason. I’ve since switched to an online bank and every transaction shows immediately. Really disappointed in Visions for this app (the previous app was a gem) among other reasons.
I’ve been using this for a while but issues keep popping up so it’s very unreliable. At one point it kicked me out of my Touch ID, even though I had it set to allow it and had been using it that way. I ended up having to turn it off and back on to reset it (after having to reset my password just to figure out my login). Just today it told me my accounts were unable to load, then after about 8 tries I did get Bill Pay to come up and submitted a payment only for it to kick back and say there was an error. Tried that a second time and same result. So frustrating not to be able to rely on using the app, and I’ve ended up having late payments as a result of having to wait until I could access my computer.
We have been Visions customers for over 30 years. We like them so much we kept our account after moving out of state. We use them exclusively for checking, savings, loans, etc. We find the app easy to use and it meets all our needs. Some of the things we like about Visions and the app: - the ability to link outside accounts with Finsavvy. It is very convenient to be able to see where all of our money is in one glance on the app. - the ability to add accounts (checking, savings, etc.)on our own. - the ease of applying for loans - the ability to buy bitcoin - the ease of transferring money to other Visions users - we are big fans of Bill Pay - the free FICO score - the ability thru Card Controls to enable and disable our cards Thanks Visions for providing a great service by offering us a safe, convenient and easy way to manage our money.
Excellent job. The app is a lot faster. My Bill Pay account comes up at whatever time I need it. Home is fast. The app opens up with face, opens the rest of the way with face. Truly, one tap. Apple could take a page out of your book. Really pleased. The problem still exists, in that, I have to make sure that I move the cursor to the extreme right. If not, the $6 check turns out to be $6000, if I didn’t pay attention in a rush. (We live in a county where writing a bad check on funds you know are not there, would get 20 years which I really don’t have left. While the person who committed manslaughter is out in 3 and a half. I don’t know why it’s that way. I seen executives get broken from big cities and leave crying.) You’ve made is clear and less cluttered. The boxes are on the right side for me. It’s as near as humanly perfect for 11 pro on the App Store. Thank you.
The visions app used to be extremely fast, efficient, and user friendly. Sadly, due to their many unnecessary updates the app has become the opposite of that. It runs so slow that my phone falls asleep before the loading screen is complete and I have to start over again and again. Looking at the main screen you used to be able to see loan and credit card due dates and now you have to click each individually to find out, which again takes forever to load. Doing transfers has also become more difficult whereas now there is an entire form you have to fill out which is confusing to get to. The app is so horrible now I would rather drive all the way to the bank during office hours and talk to a teller to do a simple transfer. Please fix your app.
I do anything here...transfer from one account to the other, check on if a purchase is “for real.” I pay loans, can pay bills, check balances on accounts & overdraft. I can see a copy of any check I wrote just the way I wrote it. I can do all of this fast such as when a store clerk is waiting, and even access it all with the touch of my finger. When I do go to the bank am prepared in advance with my phone app to show the situation. And transfer from one task to another is simple & fast.
The APP for VFCU is especially a pleasure to use. It is very user friendly to go through whatever process you are trying to accomplish . By far this banking App is the very best I have used. I have other accounts at Citi Bank, Synchrony Bank, Wells Fargo, Fidelity and the Acct I have with Visions Federal Credit Union is designed for people that work hard for a living. I’ve had nothing but great experiences with Visions. This app is definitely one of the better banking apps (as far as credit unions go) but I do wish that there were a quick balance option as an actual widget. I see that quick balances were added to the sign on page of the app, which is amazing, but whenever I open the app, it immediately logs me on because I have Face ID set up. So the quick balance on the sign on screen is useless for people who have Face ID set up. Other than that, great app and credit union!
The app is user friendly. It makes it pretty easy to follow my balances and transactions on my accounts. The FinSavvy program embedded in the app and website is interesting and useful. However, linking outside accounts to the platform can be difficult and almost impossible at times if the outside accounts have high security measures. Overall, I would recommend it if you bank with Visions.
UPDATE: For some reason in a review lamenting having something called FinSavvy ads scattered across the main home screen of the app, the developer thought it would be a good idea to continue pushing FinSavvy by explaining what it is in their response to my review. I don’t care what it is, that was the central point of the original review. I just wanna see my account balances without scrolling past it every time. For this absurd response, I lowered my rating by one star down to 2 stars. Clean it up. Original review: I am over opening the app and having whatever FinSavvy is shoved down my throat but it does work and do what I need it to.
Overall, I like the features and convenience of this app such as easily checking balances, transferring funds, and depositing checks, but there are some bugs that make it very frustrating. The worst is with the express deposit because the app frequently exits back to the log in page, making me retake the pictures and re enter the information multiple times before it finally goes through. In general the app is slow and buggy, but it is still more helpful than hurtful.
Has some good features but some basic features are too hard to find or don’t exist. Buying Bitcoin is a nice feature, but you can’t transfer them from your account. So while it’s nice to have a safe place to buy and sell your coins it would be nice to be able to use them as currency rather than just an investment. Using a outside account is not intuitive. Setting up the account isn’t as straight forward as it might be and using it to setup auto payments is impossible.
I love this app. There is one thing I liked better about the version before. You were able to see your monthly payment due for your loans/cards without actually getting into them. Now, you can only see when it is due, not the amount. You have to go into the actual tab to be able to see any of that. It would be nice to have that readily available and showing on the tab as it was before!
I’d have given it a 5 star review except for one thing.... there is a limit on the amount of $ for check mobile uploads. I don’t like that but them’s the rules apparently. Anyway, after going through ALL of the steps to do the mobile check upload the message comes up that there’s a $ limit and you cannot deposit the check. There needs to be a notice or statement to that effect at the beginning.
All is good. The only thing I would change is to have the transfer of funds navigate the same as making a payment. Halmeister Not a fan of the most recent changes. Also the new version doesn’t load all the accounts upon opening on the first screen, like it used to. It takes another click to get to all of them. Other than that, all is good.
I miss the old app! The new seems to have a sizing issue where I can’t see my user name and password without scrolling to make sure I entered it correctly. It also no longer displays the credit card balance when I am typing in the amount to pay, and I have to write it down on paper to make sure it’s correct. Annoying, especially when the old app used to display it. It claims to be new an improved.... I will write a much better review when it is actually improved.
The Mobile app allows me to keep track of all my finances and it is so easy to use. I can do everything from transferring money between various accounts to paying my bills. I love being able to deposit checks remotely meaning the bank doesn’t have to be open - this saves me time and money. The hardest part of using this app is finding a Nick name not used
This app takes a considerable amount of time to load each time the screen changes. It doesn’t reflect current balances when you move money from one account to the other which is also kind of annoying. You have to click on the account to see the new balance. Also the old dashboard was more efficient. Now I have to go through two prompts to see all my accounts, again with additional loading time. I hope they update the app soon, I really dislike this version.
The mobile application is extremely user-friendly, as well as versatile. I am someone who has worked for multiple fortune 500 banks over the past 20 years and utilizing those other services still to this day visions has found a way to excel where these companies have dropped the ball.
Been the best bank so far! Multiple options, flexibility, have no problems so far! I like the fact that I work for a company that has a plan with them and M&T, as sometimes I can’t get to M&T, and they process everything with no problems! I have yet to explore other options, but from what I have heard and seen from other members, seems to be the sky is the limit!
I really love this convenient and useful app. I can do everything with minimal effort on this app ranging from depositing a check, paying a bill and transferring money between accounts. Authenticating with Touch ID makes it simple to access my account information. This is a well thought out and useful app that meets all my banking needs under one room. I highly recommend it.
I wouldn't compare this app to a chase or discover online banking app but it does everything that it needs to without much friction. It has vastly improved from visions first app which can be considered useless given it did absolutely nothing but display balances. This new version with finger print log in is lot easier to access and it can perform basic online banking transactions.
I don’t use a banking app for many things: usually check balances, pay credit cards, or transfer money. Sometimes I deposit a check. This app is great for all the major functions, and has several features I won’t ever use. I think BoA can organize your transactions by vendor to help you see how much you spend in different places, which would be useful for budgeting...
The app is convenient to have. If I need to transfer money quick, or can't go to the bank, it's nice to have. But it seems the app is behind on transfers, lags out, or just has "unknown errors" sometimes. I've actually been charged penalties for "balance not available" due to the transfers not showing up. That's on WiFi or local internet connection as well. Overall, the app is worth it for the convenience of being able to transfer money on your phone.
I’m a newer member formerly with a different credit union. I love the excellent customer service, even if it’s not the outcome I want they are still super helpful. Love the ability to skip loan or visa payment 2 times a year. My Augusta, NJ branch is the best, everyone is super friendly and helpful. I’ve also have taken advantage of the referral program making $100 for myself. I’m so glad I’m a part of the Visions family.
Is sufficient for all the basic online banking tasks. However the alert feature is insufficient. There is a long delay between transactions and when you get the alert (which defeats the purpose). Also when the alert eventually pops up it does not show the amount of the transaction which forces you to have to login to the app and check. The alerts should happen instantaneously so if there is an issue you aren’t a day behind in resolving it.
Banking has never been easier with the addition of this app, I haven’t been to my bank in person in years! Not because there’s an issue, this app just cuts out that process unless you are faced with a specific situation where cash/check in hand is required! Otherwise, a great app
I was extremely hesitant to attempt banking via my phone, but once I tried this app I was hooked! It is so convenient and helpful. I am able to transfer money, pay bills, and deposit checks, without leaving home. This was extremely convenient during the Covid-19 lockdown. I would highly recommend this app.
It kicks me out frequently when I try and deposit a check, and then I cannot take it to a local bank to cash it. I signed a check and I couldn’t deposit it for days, then the check got lost and I had to pay $20 to have another check written by the other party. I am very disappointed with Vision’s bank lately.
I’ve been a long time member (35 years) and obviously have been happy with the service I’ve received from VFCU. As soon as I bought an iPhone, I downloaded the app and have used it all the time. Checking balances, depositing checks, and keeping up to date. The updates are helpful.
Using the mobile app can be very frustrating. I just completed a simple transfer and the app shut down 3 times. I have contacted Visions and their solution: delete app and download again; check phone for updates ( done automatically) and maybe I’m too far from my router (not). The shut downs continue! I see that I am not alone on this.
I just wish my checking box can switch with my savings box on a i visual aspect like when i open the app I see my savings account then my checking account balance I wish those were switched I rather see my checking balance first but a good overall thanks
I cannot imagine what grief people had to go through before mobile banking. If I need to transfer money no problem, check my balance, pay bill, or transfer money, turn off a lost card, no problems! Navigating the sight is easy once you get use to it. I will never use another bank or banking app besides vision federal credit union.
This app is perfect for simple banking tasks. Only downside is every time I try to do an express deposit, I get redirected the the log in page after submitting. Some days it takes me three tries before the check gets deposited successfully. Other days it doesn’t work at all. This bug is just as inconvenient as driving to the bank to use their ATM.
I moved out of NJ 8 years ago and have been a loyal member for over 25 years so did not want to switch banks. I found a sister bank right down the street for emergencies but I use the app DAILY . They even alerted me of suspicious activity and I found out my Debit card had been compromised. Had a new one within 5 days
I really appreciate that you have added the option to link other members account so that I can transfer funds into them via the app. This allows me to easily help out my children who live out of town by transferring money to them anytime of the day or week. Thanks for a great feature. Gary McKenna
Visions OS (Apple) and. Windows Apps Serve Customers Well
We use Visions Account Apps across multiple computer platforms. All versions are easily navigable and allow quick access to our account(s) details. Security is excellent without being too burdensome. Nice to see an app that doesn’t have a lot of fluff and advertising.
The visions app used to be fantastic and made your total money super easy to see and understand, including being able to track recurring expenses, net worth, and more. But with the major update some ~6 months ago they all but took away that functionality (which was called Finsavvy). All they need to do is turn Finsavvy back on and it’d make this a top-ranked banking app in my opinion.
