I have been using the WCIA 3 Weather app a lot more in the past month since my Weather Channel app won’t work for me anymore. I found that the WCIA Weather app is just as good, if not better. Congratulations to Kevin Lighty and his weather team for the best and most accurate forecasts around!!
I just updated it thinking the severe weather tab would still be there but I can’t find it all there is that refers to severe weather is the live stream and weather now, This is a problem for people like me that worries about the severe weather chances and likes to keep a close eye on it daily during times when the broadcast is not on because unfortunately even the most accurate weather teams can’t know for sure when severe weather is going to happen unexpectedly and I don’t have a smart device that can be constantly connected to the internet so the weather alerts won’t do much for me. Once you add the severe weather tab back to the app I’ll give you a better review and star rating.
Moved away from the area to Kahoka Mo and sure miss you guys Your team is superior. Thank you for always remembering all the little towns around. Here they don’t know we even exist. The quality and humor is well done every day. Thanks again for being so good at your job.
I used the older version, especially to track storms. The new version will not load on my iPhone. I am looking for anew weather app with radar. Not happy with this new app. I think it is too data hungry to load in rural areas.
Love the app. Not sure though why it adds a default location of Champaign though? It even defaults and opens to the weather for that location. I deleted it and it automatically adds it back on app refresh
Not a fan of the function of the maps. Have to use two fingers to move the map to where you want and just as you get s map where you want and zoomed in, it crashes and goes back to the default view.
I have tried several dozen weather apps over many years including the National Weather Service and The Weather Channel. WCIA Weather is the very best. No worthless “Code Red” alerts here, just reliable, accurate and up to date weather reporting. I no longer have to keep 2 or 3 weather apps.. just this one! Thank you WCIA from a grateful viewer in Dawson, IL!
This is one of the the worst apps I have ever used. It is very glitchy, when you click on 7 Day forecast it goes all cockeyed, and still doesn't give the 7 Day until you have tried several times. Also, lately they stick a loud verbal forecast in the background, so you don't want to check it in a quiet environment without the whole area also hearing whether they want to hear WCIA weather staff or not. I would give this app a zero if they had it. There are too many good weather apps out there to waste your time on this one. WCIA - you need better app developers! The who designed this one is useless....... Like the app. UNINSTALLED!!
I have relied heavily on this app in the past and would have given it 4 stars. But now, with storms approaching, the link to severe weather watchboxes will only give me an ad for something that does not interest me. I can't X out of it, nor can I get past the ad. Now I can't get past the ad for ANY of the ihp links. So I just deleted the app. I'm back to hunting for a weather app that I can actually use.
This app used to be a good one. Not any more. It was good for the local radar and now you can't even find it on the app. This update rendered it useless to me. Sorry WCIA you messed up big time.
