Works a bit better. One thing missing.
Over all the new app flows better. One thing I miss, however, is the “spendable balance” feature. Previously when showing account balances, the figure for your checking account would include a second “spendable balance” figure: the amount in your checking account minus any pending payments made through the Bill Pay function. Please consider adding this back in. It was an additional check for spending that I found extremely helpful. After posting the above I was contacted by the developer with the following: “Personal Finance offers a lot of great features to track your spending and other budgetary needs. Please give it a look and let us know if we can help you with it. Thank you!" While an actual response is appreciated, said response was not particularly helpful. I know where to find pending bill payments. I know where to find my account balances. And I know how to do the math of subtracting pending payments from the current balance. The genius of convenience which “Spendable Balance” was, was that it appeared on the opening screen. I didn’t need to dig through the app, find the figures, and do the math myself. It was quick, convenient, and eminently useful: everything an app ought to be.

Ready to move to another bank!
I was attempting to prepare my mother’s computer after the changes recently made at Wesbacno. My name is on her account too so I really did not anticipate issues. I put in the required information…name, account number and last 4 digits of her Social Security Number. Then I needed a security number but the system said my cell number was not accepted so I called the number given and waited and waited until the line just went dead. I waited over five minutes with the dead line and hung up. I called again and waited and waited until the line went dead once again. I gave up and called our local Barnesville Wesbanco. No one answered the phone but asked for a message. I left a message and my number at around 2:00. It is now 4:10 and I have received no return call. If this how WesBanco prepares for some changes, I cannot imagine what they would do in the case of an emergency. I was with First National Bank in Barnesville but started with Wesbanco when it opened here. This is not the first large issue I have had but it will be the last. I am moving on and would NOT recommend this bank to anyone, not a child learning about savings or an adult looking for a bank for their living needs.

Is this a joke?
I am a customer of Wesbanco, and I am highly disappointed with this App. I need to do my online banking because they closed our banking location on Muddy Creak Rd, and to access a near by bank I have to drive all the way out to North Bend Rd. It’s an inconvenience, so I decided to activate my online banking. Now If I want to go online and do the desktop version that all fine and great, but I rather use the convenience of there app. Unfortunately to do so is another horrific challenge in it’s self. For the life of me I can’t understand why it’s not letting me use this app. Every time I open the app I keep getting an error prompt message about not being connected to the network, but I know I am. I have teied calling customer service, and even going out to the Apple Store for assistance, but in the end nothing. The developer of the app needs to fix the bugs in this app ASAP.

Horrible
Much trouble making the transition to this new platform. Went to the bank, the IT persons took 30 minutes for him to get online while in phone conference trying to fix his problems before helping me. As I waited more people came into the bank, everyone had issues with accessing their account. There is no homepage to navigate the program. Basic functions are hidden in + or more at bottom of page. Finally had to install a new app which was not on the instructions. The old app would not work with this new mess. Fix this!,,,,,,

What a very poor execution of a banking app
I’m religiously checking my bank balances because I’m constantly putting deposits in and constantly paying my credit card down. So when the new app rolled out, I couldn’t log in FOR A MONTH! Constantly had to change passwords. Now, since the new app rolled out, no thanks in part whomever updates balances since WE NO LONGER SEE WHAT A RUNNING BALANCE IS ANYMORE, I’ve been OVERDRAFT TWICE! In all the years I’ve banked with this bank- my bank was bought out 3x over 20 years, these are THE first times I’ve ever been overdraft! I said it the FIRST overdraft and I’ll say it AGAIN, WesBanco did this to MAKE MONEY for them, not to help the consumer! If they DONT implement the changes- show a running balance like before AND immediately update balances when purchasing is made? I WILL go to another bank! It’s just that simple! Profiteering during a pandemic is a SHAME, but through banking apps? It should be illegal!

Never
Wesbanco has been my bank for 10+ years and I’ve never had a single issue. They’ve always accurately shown my balances, sent my payments, and offered great services, some I do partake in and some I don’t, as is standard. I am quite pleased with them and the fact that their physical locations have only increased over the years says something. The mobile app has changed its capabilities over the years but one thing hasn’t; never having to go to those physical locations if I don’t need to, thanks to the mobile app!

Very good app
I love the app in a lot of ways. I like that I get notifications every time a transaction happens, and I have instant access to account info. The only thing I’ve had trouble with is how it shows pending transactions in a certain order, but when they actually submit through my account, they may submit in a different order, and this has caused an additional overdraft fee on my account. My local branch is great however with working with me on this.

Mobile App/Password Recovery
I am constantly running into authentication challenges with the mobile app. Why offer Face ID login if it is constantly not usable? Why offer password reset if the option for texting verification (which is the only option) isn’t an option because my correct cell phone # isn’t listed and yes it is listed correctly on my profile. Stayed with this bank because it originally was my hometown bank and accepted their limitations- WesBanco is not a small town bank- expectations are much higher. With banking going virtual, staffing needs to migrate to improving the quality and ease of that experience. Thank you for the opportunity to give feedback.

New update is horrible!!
The old website would show you the debits from your total amount and the new version does not. I no longer get a notice when my ebills are due and no longer shows the amount I owe when I pay a bill! I now have to go look up my email to get the amount I owe, so annoying and time consuming! I signed up for online banking bc it was supposed to make paying bills easier and the new version just makes things harder! Not a fan of the personal finance feature either bc now I have to add all the accounts/bills I pay again when they are already added! So annoying! I used the online bill pay bc it’s supposed to be convenient but not anymore with this update!

Network is always busy!!
I have deleted and downloaded this app more times than I can count and it still doesn’t work properly. There seems to always be a busy network sign that appears before you can log in which doesn’t go away. I can’t log into anything because of the message that pops up continuously. I am beyond frustrated with this app and wish that it didn’t have so many issues.

Disappointed in Wesbanco
Their online baking system is almost unusable. I signed up for online banking with Wesbanco two years ago. I needed to deposit my paychecks online because I was going to be out of the area for long periods of time. I have four paychecks per month to deposit. I am frequently getting my deposits declined because of too many deposits in a month.. 4 !!!!!!! They are not large checks. I’ve had my account there for at least 30 years and they turned a deaf ear to my issue of declined deposits. They said it was to prevent bank fraud. In 30 years my account has hardly ever even bounced a check ! I have a spotless record at the bank but they were no help whatsoever.

Nothing Special, Missing Key Feature
This app does the basics one would expect in a baking app, but missing one key feature that was in the previous version (and just about every other one I've used): running balance. Does the balance as reported include pending withdraws and deposits? Can’t tell. This information has to be available since I can see it on the web site, so not providing it is a real detriment to usability and seemingly easy to implement. I looked at the configuration options (there was only one) and didn’t see it there either. BTW, the business version has the same flaw, where it’s even more critical.

I just joined us bank about four days ago and I still can’t get on my online banking I tried everything I am not happy with this bank at all unless somebody out there can tell me how to get onto it I get to a certain point where you got to sign your name electronically and I can’t get it to come up I’ve tried and tried so whoever made this App maybe can you help me please

Good Functionality, Poor Design
Overall I think the functionality of the app improved with the new version but the way the transaction activity is designed is terrible. The transaction descriptions were much more in depth in the old version. I checked my account today and say activity marked as “Internet/phone transfer” with little other information. After a moment of panic, I realized this was a transfer I made from my checking account to my savings account. The old version of the app used to specifically say “transfer to savings account”. Definitely room for improvement here.

Nice when it works
The Face ID turns off or errors out half the time. It doesn’t give you the option to see your password after you’ve typed it if you want to double check since they lock your account after three or four incorrect guesses. Half the time I get on and it’s down for some reason or another. When it works it’s a solid banking app and let you swap money between multiple accounts very easily. Along with depositing checks digitally is nice. If only it worked all the time I would be happy.

Worst bank app
After fighting to figure out which new app I needed to do my online banking I find that the new app doesn’t have any of the features that were relevant to why I even used the app such as accessing my account number and most importantly the ability to set a spendable balance! All the new app seems to have done has made the text bigger. This is the worst banking app and everything, I have overdrafted three times now because it takes over a week for transactions to show and become pending, I’ve gone from over $200 in my account to the negatives, purchases don’t show up on the correct date, and will often double withdrawal!!

New app
I truly hate this app. I hate how you can see every account your name is tied to. For example, my parents name is on my checking account (as a secondary person) in the event anything would happen. They now can see what is in my checking /savings all the time. Same with me seeing theirs. We asked if we could just have our own show up, but they said they all have to be there in the “home page”. I hate having to scroll through 4 different accounts to get to my account. I also hate my savings account being on their “home page”. I also prefer the way the old app displayed the activity with the running balance etc.

Worse than the old app
This is so much worse than the old app it’s almost funny. The transactions looked so much cleaner and simpler, now every transaction just looks really cluttered with unnecessary info. My main problem though is that it used to list what your updated balance was with each transaction, which I really liked. I was able to scroll back each month and see what my balance was then vs now. Now I guess I’ll have to keep my own records to track my finances, which isn’t the end of the world but kind of defeats the point of having an app at your fingertips.

Don’t fix if not broken
New app does not show balances right away I was able to pay my bills and the money taken out and show new balance now I can’t even submit bills on the weekends or holidays the old app I used to set that money aside and knew that it was being transferred at the first opportunity and what my balance was after my bills I just do not understand how they think this app is better than the last when we lost a lot of features and tools to help us with our balancing of our accounts

Missing feature
The new app is okay. I personally liked the old app but I’m sure this will grow on me however one feature they need to bring back is total balance after every purchase. For example say you have $5000 and withdrawal $100 for something. The old app would have that deduction then $4,900 under so you could follow after every purchase your account total just like your desktop. Some reason for me that allowed me to follow my account better and I’ve always loved that. Please please Please reinstate that.

Biometrics should never require authentication. It should always be ingrained in your phone and your phones IP. Also, password attempts should be way higher before a lockout. Also, the company shouldn’t tell me what my password can or cannot be. If you require special characters and numbers..that’s fine. My biggest complaint is resetting the password when I’ve forgotten it for the 547th time. When I enter a proper email, it should bring up my phone number associated with it. Not numbers that have never been associated with my email or phone numbers I had 20 years ago. Do better so I can access MY MONEY! So sick of this app.

Trying to transfer money
I was very frustrated today when I tried to transfer money from my savings account to my checking account! I could not locate any place on my phone app which would allow to make this transfer. I finally had to call the bank and try to get help. It turns out I was told that I needed to hit the + button on my screen to access a place where I could transfer money. This made no sense to me, but I did what I was told and BEHOLD, there was the information on transferring funds from my savings to my checking! This defies common sense! There should be at the minimum, some explanation as to what the + button is supposed to be used for! Whoever does your programming for this app surly doesn’t take into account that an 80 year old might be wanting to do a simple task. Thanks for letting me get rid of some frustration!

Needs some updates
It wouldn’t let me pay a bill on a Saturday because it says they don’t send out checks on weekends. The old app used to. Hopefully I don’t have to do bill pay during banking hours. Also, I can’t find where to do transfers, for example to transfer money from checking to savings. I had to do it from my computer. It was always convenient before to do it from the app. If these get fixed, I’ll update to 5 stars.

Since WesBanco purchased First Sentry Bank, the online banking has been nothing but an aggravation. There has been and is currently an issue with the online banking locking me out and is confusing to use. Online banking does not have to be such a hassle. I am almost to the point that I am going to close out my account and switch banks. I am currency being told that my session is almost over and I will be logged out. Again, this shouldn’t be an issue. I can’t even sent this review because I must have a nickname and all I have chosen are currently take . Just one more example of how much of a hassle online banking at WesBanco is.

Spendable Balance
The one thing I loved about the old app was the spendable balance. I was able to input an amount I needed to save which allowed me to know my spendable balance. I knew I was not going to use that saved money I put aside for a later bill coming up. It was a great “at a glance” budgeting tool. I will be signing up for the personal banking, hopefully that’ll provide me with what the app is lacking.

Bad customer service
I had an issue with a mobile check deposit. My father wrote a check and improperly filled out the amount (dollar amount didn't match the written amount) I ABSOLUTELY understand why the transaction couldn’t be processed- the amount was unclear. However, a WesBanco representative called me and was rude. Yes, my father really does live in Texas and he did mail this check to me.

Terrible
This is one of the worst banking/finance apps that I have ever used. I have had accounts with this bank for many years, and the app has always been terrible. The app is super glitchy, and requires a password change at least every other month (which can get to be confusing). After talking with other customers, it seems this is a common trend with many online bank users of Wesbanco. A little off topic, but if you are needing to call the 1-800 number after getting locked out of your online account the wait time to speak to a representative is incredibly long.

Disappointed by the “upgrade”….
WesBanco is a great bank, but the old app was SO much better. UI on the new app is horrendous. What’s with the random picture of a couple holding a tablet? It takes up almost a quarter of the screen. Really? What a waste of valuable real estate for an app. The “Spendable Balance” was very convenient and actually useful. PLEASE do not have the “Enable Face ID” radio dial button checked as the default option on the login screen. I do NOT want to use Face ID. My last gripe is with the color scheme…the darker green on the old app was MUCH more visually appealing and contrasted better. Perhaps a refund from Fiserv is in order?

Everyone at the drive-through has a smile and an easy manner that makes your banking experience hassle-free! What’s not to love? Afterall they’re my neighborhood bank! Just left WesBanco So Hills. Absolutely awful! Every time I try to use my finger print scanner it doesn’t work. Have to type my info in every time! And compared to the last site, it doesn’t show the record of my balance, only what it currently is, terrible downgrade in service!

Poor excuse for a banking app
This is by far the WORST banking app I have. Your website is laughable at how terrible it is. This app is only slightly better than your website and still can’t give you more than 1 star. I don’t know how a financial institution can have such poor support applications for its customers. I can only see 2 statements on the app, can’t add external accounts, can’t see recent bill payments, can’t transfer between accounts, can’t add payees. The only thing I could do is see my mortgage balance. Utterly ridiculous.

The upgrade of the system was awful. Some features I used in the past are no longer available. Also two of my monthly bills were not paid in time. Sometimes new upgrade is not always the best way.

The new app seems made pretty well. Although I do like how the old app was a lot! The one thing I do miss and really liked about the old app was the quick view balance which doesn’t seem like the new app has that feature. If it does have it I’m not sure how to set it up. I’ve wrote to ask and still haven’t heard back. Till then 4 stars it is

Running total
Before the app was updated, it showed a running total under each transaction when looking at my iPhone. The new app doesn’t have the running total with each transaction. I believe this is a downgrade.

Notifications
I feel like the app is a little behind the times. Notifications when transactions go through would be wonderful, ability to set up alerts from the app, a slightly more user friendly interface. Has the essentials, but the butter on the biscuits would be nice.

New version loses features & still no MFA
Can’t add nicknames to accounts like the old version. Not an issue if only one account, but as I manage more and more accounts (I have 5), I have to know and recognize the acct numbers. Additionally, the new password requirements are not in line with current advice from NIST Natl Institute of Standards and Technology. Case in point, I’m not allowed to use password greater than 20 characters— a terrible idea. Also, this app’s authentication still doesn’t support multi factor authentication.

Awful. Shouldn’t have been made
New app doesn’t show pending transactions or balance at the time of that transaction so tracing your spending is very hard. I don’t even know what they changed app looks completely the same just in light green. Would not recommend Wes bab i to anyone I seriously am considering changing banks. Also Wes bancos fraud recovery department does nothing. I have been waiting months to get back a $79 fraudulent charge and have heard nothing back from them. I would rate 0/5 if I could

Invalid credentials that are valid
For the past year, any time my phone updates, my app all of a sudden doesn’t work for no reason. I try to log in, it tells me my credentials are incorrect. I use the exact same credentials on their website, get right in. I have to delete the app, restart my phone, redownload the app. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn’t. It’s driving me insane. My husband does not have this issue and has the same phone, why is this happening?!

This new. App & on line banking system is horrible! No running balances. Did not save any of my nicknames, now I can only guess what balance goes to what nickname! It just stinks all around! May need to move funds to another more user friendly bank!

Has most of the features needed. But lacks any way to manually lower the checking balance or record paper check amount. The previous app had this feature.

Would like to have the running balance of available funds after each debit like it used to be in the column of transactions instead of just having the current balance at the top. I hope that made “cents”. Ha ha - I made a funny!!!!😬

Half par
Rolling balance never came back after the system upgrade and there are 3 apps to choose from and bank always says I downloaded the wrong app when I have problems and I delete and reload and the bank person reloads (the same app) SMH. Password changed NEVER works I have been in my local branch every time I’ve changed if for help. 4x’s. Only thing stopping me from switching banks is the hassle of doing so.

How is this an update?
I am not able to see pending transactions. I am just seeing transactions clear that were made Friday, it’s Wednesday. I can not see anything from this week that should be pending. The old app immediately displayed pending transactions, which always allowed you to see your account balances in real time. This is not an update/ upgrade. Consumers need up to date account information.

Took away the best thing.
It no longer keeps a running balance of the account. It used to. Every transaction line would have the balance after that specific transaction showing the path to the current balance displayed at the top of the statement, but the when the app was rereleased, that feature was taken away. I’d like to see that back in the app, it was extremely helpful.

Not impressed
When I pay my mortgage I write 1 check and typically add additional money towards principal. The old app showed the breakdown. The new app only shows the overage payment not the actual payment. Very frustrating because it looks as though it did not post. I also find it very frustrating that I cannot transfer funds from an external account to pay the mortgage payment.

How is it possible in any way that you think the new app is better or more efficient than the old one? It can’t even display text or graphics correctly, nevermind the loss of Face ID to log in and the missing transactions from history… This is not an upgrade…this was a mistake. *Edit* As of 8/12, the entire app is broken…again. Seriously consider reverting to the old version because this is a serious inconvenience at this point.

New App is Inconvenient and Clunky
Not a fan so far. I’ve had to re-enter my Password and accept text message codes to log on every time, and it seems as though it’s built for a desktop and not a mobile device. The entire screen isn’t visible and I have to scroll left to right to make sure I’m matching the correct balance with the correct account (I manage several).

Terrible update.
This app no longer gives you the amount you need to cover pending transactions coming out of my checking (pending bills) for a 2 week look ahead like the previous app. I used this info constantly to help me budget. Bring it back please. All you did was give account balances. And very basic stuff. This update is definitely lacking in functionality.

Garbage Update & Totally Inefficient
All that hype for complete trash! Come on Wesbanco… I am deeply upset with the new mobile banking update. It seems that there are a lot of flaws and while I understand the importance of two factor authorization while signing into any account, I am not receiving the text message codes upon trying to sign into my online banking. I should also not have to have an automated number call me every time that I want to sign into my accounts. When clients are on the move throughout the day, this is incredibly tedious and unnecessary. As a huge believer in two factor authorization, this has got to be the worst in terms of efficiency. Please fix these issues immediately & hire app developers that understand functionality.
