WREG Memphis Weather

Why do you have Wendy? She is a terrible meteorologist! She gets on my nerves so my badly that I watch Channel 5 when she’s on. The app works great.

The previous version was perfect. Now, the first thing you see is a video of the weather report. I ain’t got time for that. In the old version I could open the app and learn what I wanted to know at a glance. If I had the time and wanted to see the video, I knew where it was. I never once, even now, watch the video of the weatherman. If I have time for more than a glance, my second go to is the radar animation. I’ve lived in Memphis my whole life. I can tel the weather for the next few hours just as good as your meteorologist if I can see the radar animation. And I get that information in seconds instead of minutes. If I want to see the long term forecast, I can punch that up. Again, without ever watching your weatherman. The new ap is more cumbersome and less informative. If that was your goal, good job.

Absolutely worthless app redesign. Now any useful information—you know, like the weather, in a Weather App—is either buried halfway down the page, or moved to a different page entirely. The radar has been reduced to a tiny, barely-noticeable bar along the very top, and much of the app’s genuine functionality (looking at radar and conditions) seems to have been sacrificed for the sake of a worthless, enormous video playback slapped front and center on the main screen. If I wanted to watch the weather, I’d turn on the TV. I use an app to quickly check forecasts, lightning strikes, etc., and the WREG app was good for that beforehand, but now it’s basically junk with the new redesign.

This was a good weather app, it worked fairly well and didn’t crash too often. However it has been ruined by the latest update. It used to open with the weather map and the current conditions, including the temp. It now opens with a page of selections, including videos of previous tv forecasts. As far as I can tell, THE CURRENT TEMPERATURE IS NOT SHOWN ANYWHERE. Let that sink-in; a weather app that doesn’t give you the actual weather. It was telling me their predicted temp this morning was 64F. It was not 64F outside, it was more like 54F. Useless.

I have grown up watching WREG weather! I’m not about to change. And their app is great, but i wish i could watch the videos they post from the news casts. But they take far too long to sit and let it load to be able to watch. I sat and stared at the video loading for almost 10 minutes without being able to watch it and finally just gave up. Guess i won’t know what they said about tomorrow’s forecast since i don’t get local tv stations anymore.

The previous version was much better. It used to show the current temperature, BUT IT DOESN’T ANYMORE. WHY DID YOU DO DO THAT? This used to be my favorite weather app. I preferred the previous interface overall. The new one is cluttered and I liked the weather map and current temperature/weather conditions on the home page better on the prior version. Don’t know who sold you on this version, but it’s awful. I’ve never written a review for an app before—that’s how much this bothers me.

The latest version does not display the current temperature. It puts a weather video front and center on the screen that could be several hours old, then it has current conditions under the video, but not the temperature… how crazy is that?? Cannot find anywhere to send these found issues, so doing it here as a review 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ve always used the WREG weather app... it was awesome.. but the new graphics and UI are horrendous. It makes it extremely hard to read and the colors are messed up... light red is showing “sever thunderstorm watch” and dark red is “sever thunderstorm warning” red means tornado.. on everything but this updated app... the greens, yellows and reds of rain make it not seem to flow. I wish there was an option to use the “new” graphics vs the “old” graphics

The previous version gave the current temperature. This one doesn’t. This version looks the same as all the other weather apps with the exception of the current temperature.

I’ve seen others weather apps but none can compare!! My go to everyday

I look at the weather forecast about 3 times a day!

Depend on channel 3 weather people to keep me up with what is going on and what will happen.

Can no longer access - the screen is frozen. This app was my go to but will now have to rely on another channel’s app.

This updated app version does not give the current temperature. Why? One of the most important things is to see the current temp. It shows humidity and dew point but no current temp.

I use to like this app. But for over a year now it won’t play the weather videos or show the regular 7 day forecast like on TV. If I missed the weather on TV I would watch it on my app but not anymore. It needs an update or something.

WREG weather has always been my favorite weather app, but this new update doesn’t show current temperature and I don’t like that at all. Please correct this issue.

I mean, really?? NO current temperature reading?? You got everything on this new weather app but the current temperature, please fix!

And ever since the update, it’s horrible. There was nothing wrong with the previous setup. This is awful.

Instead of fancy can I just see the current temperature when I open the app vs having to hunt for it? You’ve cluttered the app up

No current temperature. What’s the point? Now I have to use 2 different apps? Who approved this? Considering just deleting it. Takes up space on my phone. I sent an email about it to WREG. Think I got a reaponse? Nope

I absolutely HATE the new update. I actually think it’s been out for awhile but I just updated a couple weeks ago. Please put it back the way it was before.

You have changed or updated your app and I do not like the new look at all. Old view much better. Cannot get current info at a glance.

This is a great weather app for anyone living in west Tennessee are.

Just upgraded and it was worth it! Like the new look and that it saves my favorite locations...all i have to do is touch through to check on the weather where all my extended family lives! The map loads so fast...much improved! Thanks!

I just downloaded the upgraded version of this app, and WOW! it is awesome. The new look and capabilities are great, but the thing that impressed me the most was the interactive radar map. It is fast and looks great. Everyone in Memphis should use this app. Thanks WREG!

This is a great app for all things weather in Memphis - fast radar, easy to read current conditions and forecasts... Nice!

This app was the best weather app for where I live because it did not have complex graphic that required 3G or LTE to load. This new update is awful because the new graphic require 3G to update, and where I live, 3G is hit and miss on a clear day and impossible when it is raining or the weather is bad and I need a reliable weather app. WREG needs to revert back to the old graphics or make the app were it does not need 3G or LTE to load.

I cannot get push alerts. I have post notifications turned on for this app.

Works great! Does have an occasional hiccup but over all a great app. Keeps me informed about severe weather watches & warnings in the area before I hear about them on the radio. Keep up the good work!

It's an ok app but I only or it to be able to check the inactive radar for weather but everytime I try to see the weather the app crashes which is pointless because I won't be able to check the weather.

Don't like the new app. Always checked the national weather map to see what's happening. Loved to see where I've traveled in US and its weather. Also like to know the 'feels like' temp. Always check the 7day forecast when I get up and can't find it now. Why does there have to be 2 apps for channel 3?

The best radar graphics I've seen. Very nice app.

Where did my fabulous severe weather app go ??? Hate the new one. No wind direction or "feels like" info! I thought this was only an update not a down grade. Old app was put together, this requires a hunt for info all over the place. Bring back old format!!!!! 😱

Used to be good but now crashes a lot or can't connect to data server. Wish Intellicast had an iPhone app cause their iPad app is stinking awesome! Get the problems fixed Austin Onek. You're my hero man.
