Great virtual assistant service!
I am only a few weeks in to this service, but I think it will be life changing! Love that someone else can do the bulk work that comes w research of vendors and things, have already had a few tasks completed. And the local knowledge is helpful! One thing to note is that if you and partner do share parenting load, this is more isolating you as the task organizer and manager and point person. As someone who works in a field where I do not have ready access to my phone during working hours (OR) this adds a small level of missed communication and collaboration. Which can in turn feel like more work even though you are handing it off. I would suggest adding ability of partner to share in that. Would like to add video in, and ability to add pics and videos to particular tasks instead of just in the chat. Maybe a way to have basic info saved like kids names & dob, insurance info etc. Otherwise we have loved the service so far!! Will see if expectation and reality meet as months go by!!

Could really improve on some aspects
The Yohana app needs work! It’s clunky, it’s not intuitive, it’s a headache at times that I would much rather text or call my assistant through phone messaging. Sometimes I get more stressed when my assistant starts to work on something that’s not as urgent and she’s asking me questions I don’t have the time for. There has to be some way to mark things based on urgency. Also categories! Home, Work, Personal! How about incorporating the app with your phone calendar or google calendar- whichever is being used but customer chooses which dates to share. I’m giving it 4 stars because I did find a good locksmith, a handyman, a landscaper and I was able to pull off a birthday party. My assistant does her job well and keeps me on my toes in a good way. This service is really something I have been needing to get things done in my house and beyond. The app being hard to use is a big deal though!

Run away fast
What an absolute waste of money. I gave it 3 months and it was way more work on my end than I ever imagined. Not a single person called me to get me set up or find out anything about me or my preferences. In fact I didn’t speak to a human the whole time. I complained about my first assistant who didn’t do anything except send meditation mantras. Someone did reply to my email but still I didn’t know if humans were involved. I had numerous other assistants as some would all of a sudden disappear to be replaced by someone else. I have since found out they have laid off the US based assistants and now outsource to Mexico and Philippines. It’s basically a call center now and you will likely get different people for every task. I did give them quite a few tasks to complete but really the results they gave me were basically google/TripAdvisor searches that I could have done. No thought or wow factor. One of my tasks missed the deadline I set and nothing ever happened with it. All in all a great big fail

Not great
The app itself is difficult to use, it’s confusing and very limited. There is no way to prioritize tasks or contain conversations to them. You end up needing to scroll through a long text thread to find anything making it easy to miss questions if you’re asked, especially if there are questions for multiple tasks at once. The service claims that feedback is key to the success of the relationship, yet in the actual process of providing feedback, it limits you to a very short text field. This then forces you back into the long message thread where things fall through the cracks and get overlooked as they disappear into the timeline. Beyond the app, the actual service is quite limited and slow. I find that because of the restrictions for what can be done, I find myself with a long list of to do’s to complete the need. I also find it difficult to be assigned someone who is in another state as they do not understand the geography or lifestyle of where I live. I’ll be booked for something far away or in a place that typically has bad traffic around that time. Long story short, I had high hopes and was very excited about this, but it’s really not getting much done for me. I find that instead of alleviating me it’s just transferring the workload to managing a person and often times just doing the work for them.

App still glitches
I have had this service for over a month. The app is functional but still crashes on occasion. It takes awhile to load conversations and sometimes doesn’t load each convo. Each assistant uses the conversation differently so sometimes I’m chasing different trails to see where the notification came from. I’m still showing notifications on my app though I have checked all messages. My assistant was supplemented by 2 new VAs. They are currently working on 3 large projects for me. I’ve had 4 items completed totaling 1.5-2 hours of work. Current tasks are larger from 5-10 hours of work and are taking about a week to complete up to this point. If these are completed well, my yearly subscription will be well worth it all year.

Great idea, app is very difficult to use
The Yohana concept is good, but the app itself doesn’t feel finished. It would probably work OK for simple tasks and things that don’t need a lot of back and forth. If you have a complex project or if tasks aren’t that simple, this is a headache. If you’ve ever used more formal project management tools like Asana, Trello, Confluence, etc, the work flows will be frustrating. There isn’t threading, the ability to add images, or the ability to easily edit your task. Similarly, organizing tasks is kind of weird, and there also isn’t the ability to prioritize. Also, you can only use this for one household point of contact, which makes distributing household labor in 2+ caregiver households hard. Not sold on whether or not this is worth it for us.

I absolutely cannot stand Yohana. It’s a waste of money. Everything found is found by using chat GPT by people that aren’t even in the US. I was told by an assistant that they laid off all US workers so that they only have to pay foreigners pennies. This is a scam. It’s all found using google. Also, my previous assistant told me they pile on LOADS of work for these assistants and give zero credit or value to them. Their work has almost tripled without paying their workers better. Why should we support a company that can’t even treat their workers right?? It’s very odd and honestly makes me sad because the cover of this app seems like it’s actually real and genuine. I’ve also seen tons of reviews that state they delete bad reviews so please be aware and do not get sucked in from false advertisement!!! TREAT YOUR WORKERS BETTER it’s 2024!!!!

Meh
The app is super janky. In particular the messaging feature frequently takes a long time to load or fails to update with new messages. You can’t add more than one person from your family to the account. The only options for communication are in-app or SMS. No iMessage or email. Of the handful of tasks I submitted: 1. The first was picked up 4 days later, by which time it was no longer useful, 2. The second the assistant ignored instructions to seek items from a specific location (but didn’t tell me they’d done that until I realised and asked if they’d ignored my instructions), 3. The third I was told they couldn’t order a bottle of wine as a gift for someone for Christmas, 4. The fourth they waited so long to get done that shipping windows closed for Christmas. Nobody has ever successfully scaled one of these virtual assistant things and this is no different. It’s super high friction to use vs. my assistant who I can just text or email and get a response from immediately. I guess this service might be helpful for people who don’t have an assistant and don’t care about the fact that it takes nearly as long to do things yourself.

App is ok, service is worthless and hurts more than it helps
I’ve used Yohana for a few weeks now and so far they have failed to complete every single task I assigned them except one. I asked for school lunch menus that were pescatarian and they sent me ones with meat over and over again with the assistant saying “here’s a menu with no meat.” I asked them to find a great local babysitter and after two weeks of waiting they just gave me the Google results for local babysitter placement services. I asked them to find some gift options for friends and they actually suggested some good things, only to ghost me right after I asked for them to order the baskets. I’ve spent more time trying to fix the failures than Yohana has saved me. They’re a complete waste of money. And the app is pretty glitchy.

Useful 3 weeks in
I’ve already gotten great value from this service. So far my tasks have mostly been researching options for purchases and services, which seems to be right in the wheelhouse of this service. I would like to be able to convey priorities better, and the app can be clunky (conversations aren’t always easy to track) but I’m still finding this helpful. Highly recommend for tasks that need doing in the next 2-4 weeks, not overnight.

The perfect virtual assistant!
When I started feeling overwhelmed with my schedule, I looked for virtual help. This was about a year ago. While Yohana is more personal- rather than work-based, they really take a lot off your plate! The price is extremely reasonable for what you get! They've also updated their app since I started using them and made it even better. I also feel as if the assistants’ productivity is even more streamlined now. Highly recommend!

Concerned
I love the concept and this seems like it would be a necessity for me! However I’m having doubts after already encountering bugs in the app just for the task creation. They need more rigorous testing and I’m concerned from other reviews that the convos will also be glitchy or hard to track. I signed up for the free month though so if it doesn’t work out I will cancel.

You will spend time chasing your assistants
Gave this a shot after getting a lot of targeted ads. I’ve tried it for a week and been disappointed. Either the app is glitchy with the chat or my person isn’t available, but she ghosted me on an intro call, didn’t call me, and did a very middling job on her simple tasks (when asked to help me meal plan and figure out three healthy meals for toddlers, suggested an app and gluten free pizza, chicken parm and cheesesteak tacos - we’re not gluten free? Are those really healthy options?). Hoping for a better experience this week.

Will drop you for no reason.
So I was hesitant at first but ended up loving Yohana as it was extremely helpful with task. Then out of nowhere I get a call from a lady claiming that the task I was having the admins do was not what Yohana was intended for (even though the website said otherwise. Then just got this: “Hi Lonnie, we thank you for being a member of Yohana. While Yohana appreciates your business, we have decided not to continue your membership at this time because there are some services that you require that our Specialists are unable to provide. We have decided to refund your monthly fee in full and, again, we thank you for trying our service. Yohana Support ”

great if you can get into the app.
This online service has helped me out with a lot of tasks that are time-consuming and they have done a good job. However, every time I try to go and assign a task or log into the app, I have a problem. The login system on both the website and the app are absolute trash. Every single time I need to reset my password, it’s infuriating. It makes me want to stop using the service.

Probably one of the worst services
I submitted two tasks to the team and I got the same response for both tasks. "need more detail" even though there was enough detail in the original message. All it did was buy more time for the VAs. I took the same details and asked chatgpt/google and both the tasks were done. A couple thoughts: 1) hire VAs who are going to immediately pick up the phone and call/email/act on the task. It shouldn't take more than two days to figure out what the task is. 2) when sending a booking link. Don't just send the customer to a booking link that they have access to as well. When someone is asking for a quote. Maybe generate a beautiful .pdf so they can see what the quote is with a breakdown and details. App: great. Could be better but good. Personal service; horrid.

My secret helper
Yohana is quickly becoming the secret little helper that I want to shout to the heavens about. I was really hesitant to hand of tasks in the beginning but my level of expectations were exceeded from the first task. Yohana is quickly become a necessary part if the support team I need to get my never ending to-do list done.

Not all it’s cracked up to be
In concept this is amazing In execution? Not so much. The assistants can actually do very little. Do something that requires creating a login? Nope. Use a login? Nope. Make a doctor’s appointment? Only if the office requires zero personal information beyond a birthdate. So what can the assistants do? Create lists of options for you to choose from. (There’s blogs that do this. Or FB groups) And with no haste. It’s my estimation that the assistants have more going on than they can handle (too many accounts? Another job?) as even the simplest tasks take days to complete. It has often taken more time to explain my need than to just do it myself. I’ve canceled my membership. I have 5 weeks left but doubt I’ll use it for much as, again, there’s not much that my “personal assistant” can actually do.

Not customizable and unhelpful
with this app, you are auto-assigned to random assistants. While some assistants I'm sure are great, unlucky but the ones I met were pretty downright terrible. It doesn't feel customizable and after some back and forth, the assistant insisted that I'd do it myself. On top of that, the app itself could use some improvement, the whole thing feels more like a webpage than an app, every click takes a long time to load, which rarely happens with other apps on my phone

Awful, should have read most recent reviews
Been tracking this app for a while, and their press coverage. Finally signed up, paid for one month ($129). App promoted me to schedule time with a personal guide. App functionality didn’t work. Contacted support. Said the guide is no longer a feature yet super prominent on app AND mandatory as part of onboarding flow. Submitted a task to test - help booking flights. No insigjts into who sees this, where it goes and when I will get a response. Not secure, bad experience. Do not buy!

Hopeful, but disappointed
I had incredibly high hopes for this service, but I’ve encountered so many bugs in the app. Many of my to-do get an error message when trying to submit and I get a “can’t load details” when trying to pull the draft back up. Great idea, but the product itself needs additional QA and Support. I was so hopeful this would be helpful, but am disappointed I spent money on it.

Extra Work for Busy Working Mom
My husband got me Yohana to try to help with our always growing to do list. While the product is nice in theory, I’ve been seriously disappointed in the service. There is a lot of room for improvement including only being able to link Google calendars, recommends that feel pulled off of Yelp, and having the follow up with the service to do the detailed ask. For $250/mo, I expected a little more than what I’ve received.

Good in theory, clunky in practice
I really wanted to love this service, and I still do. If it worked it would work wonders for us. But the assistants work very slow, need a ton of hand-holding, and the app spams badge notifications when there aren’t meaningful updates. The app is also slow and the UX feels wonky.

Extremely poor service and interface is buggy
Do not use Yohana. They have messed up almost every single task I have asked of them and created more work for me in the process. They made recommendations for purchases that didn’t meet the very basic requirements in my request. They do not respond in a timely manner or when they do, there is little to no actual information in their messages. I wasn’t even able to access the tasks for at least a week do to technical errors After all of the time I have spent double checking and verifying the tasks that they have “completed” I have wasted far more time than I have saved.

This service has been a huge disappointment. My helper couldn’t even get one task done in 3 weeks. When they did, the results were not what I asked for. My second task hasn’t even been started. In the time I signed up and communicated with my helper, I could have just googled the info I needed. Not worth the extra frustration and stress.

Really wanted this to work. I’m dying for help with my to-do list as a working parent. Afraid I ended up doing most the to dos I tried to offload myself as the efforts didn’t quite achieve what I needed.

I had high hopes … I read the reviews of detailed experiences here and hoped for different. Mostly I agree on every point. Felt to me I was waiting days for someone to Google answers for me 🤷‍♀️ I relied on them to set up an airport ride and it no showed and I missed my flight. Save your money, do the things yourself is my advice.

Beware of Long Waits or No Response
I was really excited about this but do not expect this to help you in your daily life. Even planning a trip, it was nearly impossible to get a response. I waited almost 14 days and still no response from my last to-do, so I’ve decided to cancel.

Complete Waste. Utter Garbage.
I was hoping the $$$ price tag would be worth it but Yohana was my worst purchase of 2022. Guess I was just so desperate with how busy my life is…thought all I had to lose was $150 - WRONG. I signed up for my membership Nov 3, canceled Nov 11, and will be charged until January. Stay away.

Not helpful at all
I handed off four projects to Yohana and after 4 days I hadn’t heard anything from them and there was zero progress made. I’m a busy single mom and I hoped this would make life a little easier but I need a service that is more responsive and proactive.

Where are all the 5 star reviews?
If you scroll all the reviews (yes all) there are (2) , yes (2) 5 star reviews. Yet their average says 4.5 over 250+ reviews?! So where are they??? Ya, don’t buy it. And the price keeps dropping. It’s now first month free, then $149/month for 12 month then $249/ month after that. Good luck.

Made my life harder.
I had very high hopes for this app and was so excited about it. After seeing all the reviews and needing the help I was so thrilled to start. Only to be let down in less than 2 weeks. I gave some grace because we clearly need to get to know each other and how we will work together. I set up some things I needed done, only for her to not be able to see them. Okay that’s fine, could be my fault and I’m still learning how to use it, no big deal. I send her a message asking if she could see if and start to ask questions so I better understand how the app works and how to use it. I ask for a few tasks to be done, give detailed instructions on what needed to be done. I gave her three tasks over 2 weeks and every single one of them she messed up or did not do what I asked. I have now wasted multiple weeks of my time thinking she was going to handle them, as that is what I thought was her job. I reached out to her at the end part of a working day and had expected to hear back the following day. She did not, I reached out about 1 pm asking if she had gotten anywhere with the task and did not get a response. I looked at the website and it said to expect a response within about 90 minutes. Two hours later I messaged her again as she had not responded and finally she did claiming she just didn’t see the message. I very much tried to write it off initially that it was my fault and I needed to do better. But after asking specific questions to learn how to work with her better I am left weeks behind deadline and needing to scramble to get it done. This was the biggest waste of my time and I’m thankful they give out one month free, because if I had paid to have my life made more difficult I would be a lot more angry about this. Please just do yourself a favor a hire a real professional assistant.

One task took 15 days for $150, and it was terrible
I am shocked and amazed at how bad this service was. Luckily I used a promo code for the first month and only paid $150. I asked for only one task as my first task - find me options for birthday and Christmas gifts for my mother-in-law. For days, I didn’t hear a word. The date I requested it be finished came and went. I asked for a status update and got a sentence that he was working on it at that very moment. More days go by. My MIL’s birthday came and went. Finally, 10 days after the due date it is finished, with just TWO gift suggestions!!!! Just two!! I could have done a google search myself in 5 minutes and come up with at least 10 ideas. The membership is supposed to be unlimited tasks for $249/mo. But what they don’t tell you is that they will go so slow that you won’t be able to get more than one or two tasks completed. After I received the finished product, I checked the chat with my assigned person and he had left a message saying “apologies, I was out of the office for illness”. Ok, but Yohana advertises that they have a whole team, so if one person is out, your project is still being worked on. Not the case. I literally paid $150 for someone to tell me 2 gift ideas. That’s absolutely bonkers! I have a virtual assistant I found in upwork that would have had it done in 24 hours, with a confirmation that she received the project and then an email saying she was done with it, with lots of suggestions. Just go get your own VA on upwork. Then you only pay per hour for what actually gets done. Not a frickin $150 for a two item list and terrible communication! I’m unbelievable. I feel like they stole from me, honestly. It’s a total scam.
