CPCV (Cost Per Completed View) is a digital advertising metric that measures the cost of an advertisement per completed view. This metric is used to determine the effectiveness of video ads, especially on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram.
CPCV is calculated by dividing the total cost of an ad campaign by the number of completed views. A completed view is defined as a user watching an ad in its entirety, typically for at least 15 seconds. Unlike CPM or CPC, CPCV is only charged when the viewer has completed watching the ad.
CPCV = Cost of Ad Campaign / Completed Views
For example, if an advertiser pays $10,000 for an ad campaign that receives 50,000 completed views, the CPCV would be:
CPCV = $10,000 / 50,000 = $0.20
This means that the advertiser is paying 20 cents per completed view.
CPC (Cost Per Click) charges advertisers each time a user clicks on their ad. CPM (Cost Per Mille) charges per 1,000 ad impressions, regardless of clicks. CPV (Cost Per View) charges based on views of a video ad, typically when a user watches the video for a certain duration or interacts with it.
