Not what I thought it would be
I hooked up two cameras there is no option for the microphone, I can hear it from my phone and can not talk to people at my house from my phone , and this is supposed to be a two way microphone, the delay is outrageous, I bought 2 of the most expensive Ethernet chords and doesn’t make a bit of difference , the app gives you an option of contacting support but the email ad Is invalid and will not send , if I could resolve these issues the camera be awesome , and only sometimes the camera will move directions, most of the time it doesn’t move though and I’m constantly losing the ability to zoom in and out , this last time it lost that ability , I can not fix it

Not worth it!
I was using this service and had the auto payments tied to a debit card. I had to get the card replaced because I thought it had been lost. Amcrest sent two emails telling me they would stop service and delete my cameras as well as any recordings if I didn't update my payment method. The problem is that their termination email ended up in my junk email folder. Funny how their emails with the invoice attached made it through but not the threat to delete everything. I consider that bad customer service. I only found out they discontinued service when I witnessed what I think was a theft from a neighbor's car. I went to access the recording and "Poof", nothing there! .. at all, not even my cameras. If there was a serious crime, wouldn't deleting recordings constitute obstruction of justice and destroying evidence? Sounds like a serious liability issue to me. The price is a little steep as well, at $20 per month for two cameras, I could buy an NVR and have it pay for itself in a year. Update - It's one thing to stop service due to non payment, it's another thing to delete customer settings (like cameras). That action is unnecessary and punitive. Camera setups take up a trivial amount of data storage. Yes, it costs money to provide services, how much does it cost to lose customers?

Highly unreliable
WARNING: Do not use Amcrest cameras for any mission critical security applications! My overall experience is they are highly unreliable. The video streams will freeze with no error or indication. A church that I installed these for discovered this and now has to waste thousands of more dollars replacing them after they realized they were staring at still images. Good thing nobody with a gun came to shoot up their church because they would have been taken like sheep led to the slaughter. The app is no better. I got one for my driveway and am about to return it. Half the time I go to load the feed in the app and it just loads a black screen. If the video loads it only runs for a few seconds and then freezes with no errors or warnings. I don’t know why they don’t give the option to view the sub stream through the app as that would make more sense. I’m not interested in having my catalytic converters stolen only to tell the police the camera didn’t work. I think it’s time for this company to take a step back and completely reevaluate their position. These are not security cameras, they are toys.

Been trying different Amcrest products for 5 years, still tech issues!
After trying different Amcrest WiFi cameras over the last 5 years, spending $5,000+ on equipment, wasting way too many hrs with the Amcrest help team and troubleshooting issues that now amount into days, I think it’s time recycle all this frustration, patch the 8 holes I will have from removing my camera installs and break up with you Amcrest! You have continuously let me down with issues such as memory not saving settings, poor video signal quality and my favorite when the power goes out...or just random.. why not they are only security cameras- “cannot find host” and the cameras never reconnect. I have to delete and research for devices and add password per each and save. Honestly, I’m very tolerable but this company and equipment is something you would expect to see being used in the 1990s! Do not waste your money or your time! Stay far away from this company for many years and if they survive, there may be a slight possibility that it’s because the equipment has been re-engineered and improved significantly.

Not the worst
Some of the time the app works, which is nice. During a recent windstorm I was able to use the camera feed to watch my trees waving violently in the wind, while hiding safely in a windowless basement room, which I couldn’t have done without the cameras. That’s the only good part I can recall. Night vision works fairly well, unless you’re actually trying to see some detail. Live view works well also if nothing is happening outside and you are lucky, again unless you want to see detail. Motion detection is very impressive: it captures snowflakes, raindrops, hail, insects, very well, in fact it will detect basically anything moving except for people, animals, or vehicles — the whole reason I paid for this system. Today, for instance, someone knocked on my front door while I was using the restroom. I checked the camera app. Nothing. Just a blank screen, and it stayed that way until they left. I have video of a motorcycle driving into my driveway and video of a motorcycle leaving, and blank in between. I assume that’s the motion detection AI helpfully blocking out anything I might want to see. In short, I think it’s reasonable to assume that all positive reviews are people who work for Amcrest. No one who depends on this product could be happy with it, I’m sure of that. But it’s not the worst possible outcome — the cameras haven’t caught fire and burned my house down, for example — so I’m choosing to focus on the positive.

Terrible Customer Serv.
I have 2 of the Amcrest pro HD cameras set up. One of the cameras would not record motion. It was the first camera I set up. It worked great until I installed the second camera. The first camera quit recording. I ensured the channels were different, reset the camera, ensured the programs they recommend were set up correctly on my computer as well as my phone. Reset camera, reset router. Nothing. Only second camera would record. Not a space problem, i delete everything off of the cloud every day. I called customer support, the individual’s tone was as if i had never used an electronic device before. I explained the problem, what I had done to troubleshoot the problem. The individual says, “You need to reset the camera.” I explained, “I just told you that was the last thing i did.” He proceeded to tell me tp reset the router, install the program on my computer, all of the things I told him I accomplished. He then stated, the camera was bad. I disconnected the second camera and everything works great. Not a bad camera, worthless customer service!

Ba bad bad
Software needs a lot of work, I’ve tried every trick in the book to schedule motion detection and it does not record, I’ve called tech support, they can't seem to be able to fix the problem, if I do turn on motion detection, it does record but it’s always recording, not according to my schedule. And only the last 4 hours, that’s all you get for free...so unless your paying for iCloud service and you look 24 hours later, you’ve lost any recording after the last 4 hours. You can only record to the SD card manually. I was hoping to record to the SD card using motion detection. Anyway, this APP is not user friendly, needs a complete overhaul. The only reason for two stars is because it does have a good clear picture, but they need to fire their software person and start over.

Could Be Better
The home screen on my iPhone SE is nothing but a bunch of blank rectangles, which I assume are supposed to represent activity on each of my cameras. Interestingly, the home screen on my iPhone 6s has motion markers for the times motion was detected on each of my cameras. Something in the app is broken for iPhones with smaller screen sizes. Update On smaller screen iPhones, like the SE, you need to pinch to zoom and the blank rectangles will morph into boxes that give camera name and motion graphs.

It’s okay. :/
Coming from a nice setup and App with Presence (iPhone to iPhone system which we still use and much prefer over the Amcrest), we “upgraded” to Amcrest and has been nothing but a let down. We hate the main Amcrest View Pro app with a passion. Just so ugly, buggy, motion recording very glitchy/no video thumbnails or events list, and needs a whole complete overhaul BAD. Luckily, this Amcrest Cloud app is much better and has a easier to navigate interface. We will be using this from now on and deleting the awful Amcrest View Pro app. Just don’t understand all the crap with Amcrest we have to go through still. -It a 2K camera but the app limits you to 1080P, so why did I pay for the 2K/3mp camera? -Buggy live video feed and looses connection often. Also is never full quality (again, app limits it to lower resolution). -Why did I buy a extra SD card with the camera when I am now forced to use the Cloud service/app making the local SD card recording useless (does not show up in the app)? Overall, just so so so many issue keeping this from being a nice camera setup. And it seems while their “camera” actually is nice, all of their apps are total garbage. They need to hire a new development team and start from the ground up BAD!

I can always count on frustration
Without a doubt the most frustrating software or apps that I use. The biggest time waster. All I did today was discontinue the monthly cloud service. Now they give you four hours for free. So why would my ending the monthly service remove my camera entirely from the cloud???? So now I have to start all over again. Amcrest seems to have a love for telling you the password you entered is incorrect yet you know its correct and somehow after entering it three times in a row it takes it. I also get the message the firmware must be updated, so I go to the website. Guess what. My camera is not listed for firmware updates. Now I cant log into the cloud and so far password reset isnt helping since I didnt receive a response email. Funny because my email is getting motion detection emails!!! Cant wait to get rid if this one day.

Cameras and equipment awesome
I have their cameras there POE adapters and their network video recorder and all this equipment works seamlessly together remotely or on site I just love their stuff. And as for having to reboot any of the equipment that I may need, I found I could get one of those cheap Christmas light timers and put it on whatever you want, set it for 15 minutes or a half hour to shut off and then it turns back on. That’s what reboots my equipment and works great. I’m in a wheelchair and some equipment is in my shop so it’s easier to use one of those. Other stuff I control via Alexa.

Just works
I've had this camera for over a year now and I mostly use it to check on the house when I'm deployed for 6 months at a time. I've only had to ask a friend with access to my house to reset my router once. Not the cameras fault but I would suggest a daily power on/off cycle for a router and modem. The app itself is simple and works for everything I need. Live feed has little lag and reviewing past footage is easy and quick. Only negative is that it can't go back past 48 hours via the app but on the web it can.

App completely stopped working , invalid login credentials
Not sure what happened . App has worked completely fine for months until tonight. Internet disconnected temporarily and then when it came back I go to log into the Amcrest cloud app and now it says invalid log in credentials but if I login through Amcrest cloud . Com on my computer it lives stream my camera perfectly fine. I have already removed and re added / re-configured the camera and still no luck on the phone app. I am using a iPhone 12 Pro Max . Have plenty of storage and plenty of wifi signal and I have also made sure I am using the correct account information , nothing has worked and I still am experiencing this issue to this moment .

More saved locations would be nice
I just setup my camera last week. The initial setup was a tiny bit clunky in my opinion, but ultimately it worked and that’s what matters. My biggest complaint is that while it’s great that you can set a “home” location it would be so much more useful if you could set up more than one saved location to pan the camera to. Panning the camera is a fairly slow process and it’s easy to overshoot your target. I’d like to see multiple saved locations in a future version so I could quickly jump back and forth between object I want to view. Other than that, it seems pretty good so far.

Could use some UI update and Latency
I recently purchased this product not long ago. I’m a bit surprised, UI definitely needs to be modernized/updated, but it’s giving me “why fix it something that’s already working”. Latency is almost an issue for me, given the fact from my Router’s latency between my switch and camera 5-11ms. Other wise this product does work, I mean it’s just that, it needs more functionality. Features that can be done in the background. Other wise I’m pretty satisfied with everything. Not the top of the line, but it’s decent.

Not as Bad as Crap
Last night I gave a bad, 1-star review. I could not connect my camera with the cloud app via wireless (only with Ethernet). I worked for over 2 hours and got more frustrated. I gave up on trying. Today, I received an email from Alen from Tech Support. He had me restart the camera and, whatever he did on his end, he was able to get my camera and the cloud app to talk with each other. I still feel the app and the “help” part of the website needs to be revisited. My advice for future customers… if you have trouble connecting dint bayonet calling on the weekend. Instead, leave comments in an app review and ask Alen to help you out!

Big Pain
Not only did this camera have trouble connecting to the cloud in the first place, but it just stopped sending alerts and recording to the cloud one day. I went in to configurations and got the motion alert to start working again, but it still won’t record events and there’s no help from the website or customer service available. The website to access the camera and configuration is also subpar, lacking decent design, which is annoying in itself when you consider this is a company you’re trusting to be able to provide cloud services. I’ve wasted more time reconfiguring this camera than the peace of mind it’s supposed to provide.

The cloud recording feature is spotty at best which defeats the whole purpose. At times it won’t record at all and I have to restart the camera and pull the card out and reinsert. At other times you can watch live view but the recordings won’t play which really makes the camera useless. Lastly with only two hours of recording if something happens the night before you will not be able to review it in morning also making the camera useless I’m probably going to get rid of this and buy a real system with a Dedicated recorder

Good hardware, problems with networking, app, and software
The camera itself, an HD WiFi bullet camera with IR night vision, is excellent. But the wifi setup was a pain (didn't work, so I had to unmount and use the Ethernet configuration inside before remounting outside). Now I'm unable to use the app to see specific points in time. And somehow it detected a box blown off my back porch onto the driveway (where the camera is pointed) but missed my friends pickup truck which is now parked there. Plus the app logs me out every time I try to change my timezone.

Zoom issues
Overall this is a good app. I had a few issues having it connect to the camera but that has been worked out. This last update left me unable to zoom in on the video picture. I was able to zoom before the update, wondering if they know this and hoping they fix it soon.

Trash!
My camera was recording just fine to the SD card and now it wont record at all. My push notifications from the Amcrest Pro notifies me that there was in fact motion detected but now wont playback the recording at all. Okay so I go to the Amcrest Cloud and its an app you have to pay for, great! The pricing plans are not direct or clear. Not sure what options you are buying! Why in thee hell would I pay for a 7 day plan or a 90 day plan. I want to protect my investments for the long haul. I am beyond livid because it worked perfectly fine before. This app is trash DONT DO IT!!!🙅🏼‍♀️🙅🏼‍♀️🙅🏼‍♀️

Support Responsiveness
I always just assume that when I request support, I will hear back from someone in terms of days. Not with Amcrest Cloud Support. I have had to rely on them twice and have received such speedy responses. Alen is a patient, personal, extremely helpful support person. Thank you to Amcrest, Alen in particular, for being a customer whisperer when I am tech frustrated.

Won’t connect to wifi despite correct credentials
I pick my network from the wifi scan list, type in the correct password, which I’ve verified on several other devices, and it fails to correct saying that the SSID, password or encryption are wrong. Well the app auto fills the SSID and encryption type itself once picked from the scanned list, and after 50x tries and confirming password is correct on other devices , it still rejects it. Pretty useless without being able to connect the camera to Wi-Fi.

Can’t talk through my camera
The only reason I have the cloud app is because The view pro app does not work unless it’s connected to Wi-Fi which I don’t think is right because it says view your cameras from anywhere in the world. The cloud app is horrible and lacks tons of functionality compared to Amcrest View Pro. I want to be able to talk through my camera, and access many other settings that I can’t in this app. What’s the point of talking through the camera if I’m home? I should be able to talk through the camera wherever in the world.

The best 5g camera.
I'm so excited about our new cam. I was a little worried about it at first but I must say I could not be happier. We purchased this camera for our little one who's at home with a nanny. I always feel guilty about leaving my child but t with this camera I feel like I'm right there. The picture quality is awesome.

Needs better manual
Instructions were not clear cut (ie: turn on WiFi on the phone and make sure WiFi is on is 2 different things) , but eventually after searching the web and the company website(hours later) I was able to get camera, app on iPhone and laptop site going . Delay in movement and sound (instructions are probably in the website somewhere) Otherwise, good tool check on my pet babies

Junk
This app and camera are junk! I’ve called supper numerous times to get help on getting this app and camera to notify me when I have movement in my camera! I have set sensitivity on every setting and the only thing it records or sends me notifications to is lighting car lights hitting the camera directly or a spider climbing across the lenses! Support needs to be educated and actually know where the problem is when asked for help! I will go to ring and buy there camera cuz right out of the box it works!

Push notifications don’t work
I simply want this camera and app to send me notifications of motion when I’m fine and capture it and save to the cloud. The apps layout is confusing and not intuitive at all. I do not get event notifications when all settings for it are turned on. Viewing events is a pain. Why not just have a list of the events and select one to play? Overall just a strange layout which had me digging around trying to find different settings.

While I’ve been extremely pleased with the quality of Amcrest’s cameras, I had not used their customer service until recently. They were prompt, professional and solved my problem immediately. This company is one of the best when it comes to IP based camera systems!

Has always worked for me.
I’ve been using this app and two camera setup for over a year and have never had a problem I couldn’t fix myself. Mostly just resets and power cycles but my cameras work every time I need them to. I would definitely recommend this app and cameras.

Not impressed
UI isn't polished. Motion detection isn't reliable, nor is the hardware. Having better luck with Ring's products. Update: got an email saying I got a developer response, but I can’t see it. I must say though, whatever the newest update did, fixed my major complaints. Good works dev!

Should be called A$$Crap
First, I have over 25 years in CCTV both private and federal government - so I know what I am doing. Foscam was great... Amcrest is garbage. The hardware has massive massive reliability problems. I went through 8 of their baby cameras with a 100% fail rate before I wrote them off as trash. Now I am testing their regular WiFi cameras and am at a 70% fail rate on the hardware. I have taken one apart and tried to tell Amcrest what the problem was but their arrogant developers would not listen. Read the other comments and you will See just how bad of a company they are. Their poor quality does not support their elevated view of themselves. Their software is equally poor. Cloud only works with Alexa 20% of the time and only works with itself 60%... so 40% of the time their own software does not work independently of anything else.

Ethernet Cameras
We haven’t been able to get ours to record in months and no one is returning my husband’s phone calls. They say someone higher up will call back but no one has called him yet. This is an issue because we got the cameras for security for when he’s out of town and I’m alone. This is unacceptable and lousy service. They worked for a month then stopped and he has done everything he’s read on the troubleshooting and nothing is working. Poor product and poor customer service

Wonderful
They work so well. Ones in my window for the out side and I have one inside. You can see live or record. You can also see anything that is going in and talk to who ever is in the room with the camera I’ve scared my kids with it a few times haha it’s a must have.

It’s hard to imagine being a loyal customer paying $20/month to have two-camera plan to not see a perfectly performing app... with timely, robust updates when Apple updates. Yet since the iOS 12 release in August, my app refuses to send push notifications like it used to. I prefer temp banners to tell me each motion detection... but that failure has gone unaddressed since August... forcing me to set email notices... clogging my gmail inbox with 60ish each day. So what are they doing with my money?? Buying drinks on a beach somewhere!?!? For $20/month... Amcrest should have had the update staged and tested well in advance of the iOS update and I shouldn’t have noticed a single hiccup or speed bump. Instead, it’s now been 4 months with a busted app. Awful service and customer treatment.

Won’t show more than 4 hours at a time.
I use this everyday. The app won’t show more than 4 hours at a time even when I tap the 6-hour option. I can’t jump to a day or time, like the app says it supports. I’m paying monthly for this and am now getting what was promised. I feel like I should cancel. I’ve deleted and downloaded the the app and that doesn’t seem to make a difference.

Too complicated, too temperamental
Great camera when it works. Whole system must have been set up by a highly technical person with no idea of how a user could possibly use it. No easy recovery solutions when system does not work.

Some issues but happy
When there is a power outage I can't get the camera to reset until it is unplugged and then plugged back in. So when I am vacationing and power goes down I lose video until my son goes to the house and resets camera. Really like the video it produces and response time on play back is great. Also control of the camera is very easy for panning etc..

I have been using Amcrest for well over a year. I have a camera that has worked well below zero and through the winter months. The video of visitors (including spiders) has always been clear and sharp.

Good app, not recording occasionally
This app is great, looks beautiful, easy to use ONLY when it’s working. I’ve been having issues with it constantly. Every other day there are no video captures and recording is not happening. Like today, I left home an hour ago and wanted to see what my dog was doing. Open app - “No events”. Just now I’ve arrived home. Checking again - I can see myself in live, but there are no records in cloud at all...

Nice but needs work
I set up two cameras using this app and I can’t connect to them… worked well when I set them up, but now they stopped connecting. To be honest the amount of settings available for each of the cameras is also lacking. I guess this app should only be used if you have a cloud subscription and don’t want/need to access all the settings?

Push notifications???
Ever since this app and iOS updated, I no longer get push notifications even with them enabled. If I delete the app and reinstall it, it’ll send notifications for a few days then stop and have to repeat the process which is really annoying. It does send email alerts but that’s kinda beyond the point.

Update: issues resolved by Amcrest support, app and cameras now working better than expected! Fast notifications of motion via email and app Very clear image quality Very fast and very responsive tech support! Original:App is old slow and non intuitive doesn’t even keep the correct time which is pretty important for a security camera, only recorded motion if your on top of camera, low confidence this company has the ability to produce a real PoE camera

It does not record
We needed 24/7 recording and they offer a service at a reasonable price. Little dis we know, out of the entire month in January we have one day of recording on the cloud service. Their camera does not record even when there are motion in live view and their support staff are just as worthless as the camera itself. Blame everything except their product or try to figure out what is the casual. Their support hours are banker hours so if you work during the day don’t expect to reach them for support when you get home. I seldom leave such negative review and always try to give people the benefit of doubt. With Amcrest my advise is spend your money elsewhere. They have terrible camera, customer service and worst of all technical support.

Works but needs improvement
The Amcrest Cloud app needs to be updated with subscription status and payment info. Also, live feed takes too long to open. There’s is no need for this app to be separate from the main Amcrest app. Needs to be an all-in-one. The main app needs an update too including a trough the app firmware update and cloud access. Overall layout in both could be updated too.

Broke again
Your last update fixed the problem that the update before had broken. Could not turn on motion detection to record events. Got to use it again finally after weeks. But guess what? Your most recent update broke it again. When are you people going to quit screwing around with this app and give us something that works??? You turned something that worked well a year ago into a pile of crap. Nice developing, give yourselves a raise.

Amcrest View Pro - Really?
I am so dissapointed with this software! Just purchased a nice Amcrest IP Camera and the software to run it is awful. It looks like something from the pre-2015 with a buggy interface that seems to be an afterthought. I couldn’t even use the PC version, OMG. Please put some work into this! I would never have my customers use anything like this.

Awkward and forgetful
The timeline navigation system is terribly hard to use farther back in time, is very fussy, and frequently jumps back to the current day -- I cancelled the storage service as a result as it was unusable. Awkward setup since I already had 3 cameras in Amcrest View but they can’t carry over from their other product so I had to dismount them to get them set up since the WiFi setup didn't work. Version 4.1 forgot all three cameras again so I have to reenter again.

Decent App
All in all this is a decent app for on the go observation of your security cameras. I've had some tech glitches, but that's given with any kind of technology that you are becoming familiar with.
