I’ve been using Avast for over 10 years, in fact it’s probably closer to 20 years! Ever since I downloaded and used the free version of avast just to protect what I was doing online I’ve trusted avast. The first time I used avast it didn’t have a browser it was just security but man o man was it good! It was constantly thwarting the bad guys from getting to my computer and with two young boys who were just starting to surf the net I needed all the protection I could get! lol Now here we are 20 some odd years later and I can honestly say there has never been a successful hack or scam that has made it through to my computer or laptop or tablet nothing nada zilch. Fingers crossed and avast is all I need. I have friends who wouldn’t listen to me and they insisted that if it was free it was a scam but it wasn’t. Even the part of avast that they let you use free of charge is incredibly strong and secure. Its not hype nor is it a stretch to say avast is quite literally the absolute best at whatever they want to do. So, download avast today and start using it before its too late. DO IT NOW!! BEFORE THE NIGERIAN PRINCE AND HIS EAST EUROPEAN COMRADES GET THROUGH WHATEVER PITIFUL EXCUSE OF A SECURITY SUITE YOU ARE CURRENTLY USING!
I was the victim of a phishing scam and bad actors gained access to my bank accounts. While no software can replace common sense, and I bare the responsibility for what happen, I was very disappointed with the fact that my security suite at the time (from a very well known brand) did nothing to warn me of my mistake. Aside from properly educating myself in all things internet security, I went on to try several products to compare and decide the best option for my needs. Norton, Bitdefender, and Avast made the Final Cut and from those, Avast was the clear winner! Excellent detection methods deliver quick scans with great results. Simple to use interface that provides the right amount of control without getting lost in a sea of options. Unmatched privacy tools (part of my suite but often sold separately). Ransomware mitigation that is simple to setup. Very useful tools like sandbox and email guardian. The ‘bank mode’ works much better than others I tried. And so much more. Now, there’s not a feature in avast that a competing suites does not have, however, none of them offers all of it like avast does.
I have been using avast since the 1990’s, because avast was the only antivirus that offered 64 bit protection, at that time. Avast, has become even more innovative in recent yours, by offering a very high security browser. Avast offers a very wide array of security products. My only complaints is that avast does not ofer to bundle their products and sell at a discount price. Secondly, if you own one or more of their products, and it comes up on sale, before your current product expires, the purchase date of what I would have thought would extend the expiration date of my current, does not. The new product date starts on the date of purchase. This is a weird way to conduct business as the purchaser is actually the loser, by purchasing the same product on sale. I have screwed myself many times. In my opinion avast offers the best security you can get. I am not and have not been offered any compensation for my review of avast products. Best browser + VPN for free with option for premium
Seriously, because of my background in computers and technology and cyber security I am an avid user of VPNs while also utilizing private browsing to keep my data secure. Anticipating tracking is kind of my thing and in todays world it’s not just professionals or authorities anymore that are tracking civilians and our data. Civilians are tracking other civilians! Privacy is paramount. Avast is the only FREE version of software/ application that I’ve used to develop and offer security at this level free of charge. And for a small subscription or membership fee you’re met with endless customizable options for however you choose to secure your phone, laptop, home, work or school computer. The amount of security that Avast VPN & Browser provides for their users is invaluable. You just can’t put a price tag on your privacy. I’d rate 10 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ if I could.
Update: when I used "system-wide" VPN (across all apps), my iPad is maddeningly slow. It was practically impossible to do anything with my photos/camera roll. I circumvent this problem by turning OFF system-wide. I use VPN on Avast Browser only. Back to 5 stars. I've encountered a few other annoying situations (logging in to social media when it does not recognize me, and annoying Google CAPTCHA's) as well. Usually it blocks ads, as promised. I do like the app's search engine to discover a variety of PDF's, eBooks, new sites, and other items. This is my first experience with VPN. I'd say the benefit outweighs the liability of slowing things down, at this point. I do trust the Avast brand; I've been using their antivirus software for years.
It good to have at first I thought it wasn’t working but yes it’s works you pay the full service and it help stop hackers and videos don’t keep playing when I played some games and less you decide to turn off the button to let it allow to but I don’t I like keeping playing without any problems. I also enjoyed where you can go anywhere on any app but there times the app itself turn the off switch idk why but I alway keep checking it out and update when there one. Sure if need something to keep you safe and want to explore on the internet without being bothered I get this if I was you. Thanks again everyone keep up the good work
A s a multi-year user of avast I have been very satisfied because what Avast does to protect my systems and keep me family safe from the many threats that lerks in the ether. I am a 20 plus year technology veteran and yes there are many options available however Avast “Takes my protection to the limit!” I am very satisfied as are my family, I will continue to use this service. Don’t take my word for it, try for yourself and become a believer. Thanks Avast, you have not let us down over the years-Thanks for keeping your word!!!!
They block ads on sites that they don’t make money from. They allow all the scam ads from Google but block ads on all of the other search engine sites. Really a terrible business that allows their users to steal content from websites by not showing ads, unless they Norton, Avast, AVG, Avira, all the same company, make the money from the ads. Despicable business people steal content and revenue from other businesses. Eventually, because of businesses like these, you will have no more search engines, just Google and Bing and no more news sites because they will put them out of business too. But here’s the kicker, you will have to pay to use most sites in the future because all the ads are blocked and nothing is free as you’ll soon find out.
Did I mention I love Avast Pro? works EVERY TIME. Its the only thing I have ever used that gives me everything I want and no worries. I live where internet and cell signals are not very strong or fast, and every other browser, VPN or privacy suites slowed my internet and cell data to less than 2 Mbps. Impossible to use. But Avast speeds up both! No lag, no dropped signals, just open Avast Browser Pro and Avast takes care of all the worries for me. No Ads, no popups, no spam texts and emails after being on the internet. NO STRESS! I Love It!!
I’m only a few days into using this browser and it is okay so far!!! I would love to continue using it but there are a couple hurdles that should be easy to fix. First, Let me grab an already open tab and move it up or down please! Second, when I have the search open and I’ve scrolled down, click the site then return and the search page is back to the top of the page… it’s really annoying and it causes me to lose my place at times. Third, when I want the navigation bar to appear it is Terrible!!!!! I’m pushing and sliding on the screen but nothing!! This is Really bad.
I’m happy with the added protection. Many have told me to get a VPN, but I am still in the process of configuring it. My hopes are that the VPN will stay connected and that websites on the internet will load quickly on startup after some time away from my phone or when charging overnight. My home internet provider goes down almost every night, and I read that might cause the VPN to disconnect. I will contact support if I cannot figure it out through research.
Reasonably stable, security seems decent and has the best no-tracking functionality versus the competition (very easy to use) My only complaint is that the browser seems to lose track of where you are on the page when you leave it for a new tab and then return. When you are doing a search and open a new tab to look at the results, you lose track of where you started and default back to the top of the original window
I was trying to learn to use my iPad for everything including schoolwork as my sisters do, but there’s this one annoying bug I found that irritated me to the point of switching to a competitor. I could not figure out how to enable third party cookies so my schoolwork could open a website. I have tried messing with the settings like turning off the protection allowing it for that one website but no avail. I called tech support FIVE TIMES but they had NO CLUE how to enable cookies. One person even told me this browser is not compatible with iPad. Like dude…if you were with me right now you’d feel really stupid about what you said. Who hired these guys? Developer please fix then I’ll think about switching back.
This is the most secure browser on the App Store and I highly recommend it I just wish the Anti-Fingerprint feature was added soon. I also have a suggestion for the adblocker, my suggestion is that currently the strict adblock mode blocks 99% of ads but could you add a feature where strict mode blocks 100% of ads for people who have a paid avast subscription because it would make the app a lot better.
But hey once I get it working, it’s nothing to worry about and I worry about plenty. I’m learning. I wish it was a class I could take to learn more about how to use.(I’ve seen the offerings on my computer screen and will re-look.) that this old man could learn from. Currently I’m using avast on my TV in my living room to keep me safe. Took me an hour but I got it. Operator error is a phrase I am all to put on your with. Good luck.
For a browser that purports to protect one’s privacy is rather odd that when you try to see Avast’s privacy policy in the app the screen goes blank and then reverts to the home screen. Haven’t seen it yet so I’m not using the app. UPDATE - The developers responded to my review demonstrating what I believe to be good customer care. I went back and found that my pop up blocker was preventing the privacy policy from loading. The blocker was set only for Safari so I don’t know why this browser was affected. With the blocker turned off I can see the privacy policy.
Compared to other browsers, this is weak. I really like Avast security and VPN, but the browser leaves much to be desired. One of the single most infuriating things is that if you have a browser open, but need to open another window to search something else, the other browser will completely re-load when you switch back again. Really annoying for video sites like Bitchute, as it will not save your spot on the video you were watching. I’m also annoyed that I can’t change my default homepage. There are a lot of bugs, I could spend hours writing, most of which center on opening more than one tab at a time. Pretty annoying.
I started using Avast months, no, YEARS ago! It remains a joy to use, and is a very competent browser. Yes, it did seem like a pain to roll into your day, what with logins each return, but once you get the hang of it, it is second nature. Give it a try, you’ll like it after the first hours of use. You’ll LOVE it after the first week of use!! P.S.: don’t forget to use the VPN included with the full browser. Your security is vastly improved!
I had been using DDG as my mobile browser and Avast as my desktop browser. As soon as DDG went full GoogTard and began censoring and labeling search results, I bit the bullet and purchases Avast Secure Browser Pro and set StartPage as my search engine. I do like a browser built on the Chrome framework with access to Chrome extensions and themes, and the privacy features and search engine options are well worth the annual fee.
I have recently tried multiple browsers and antivirus programs. After doing some research, I decided to do a trial with Avast. I am very happy with the results so far in my trial. This is after having paid lots of money for yearly subscriptions to browsers that are rated much higher that honestly I found were not as reliable. So far extremely satisfied, great job Avast!
Of course I have no way of knowing what this browser does or how it works. Maybe a little test utility would be nice to challenge it and see what happens. The truth is these hackers are far more sophisticated sometimes more than the programmers themselves. But still grateful to have an option to protect ourselves with this browser program.
Thank you for making a product that has worked flawlessly for over ten years. I appreciate your customer service when I have needed it. I feel that my phone and home computer are safe at all times. Thanks again for all you do to protect some of my most valuable assets.
This app is awesome. I love this app because it prevents any ads from popping up related to what you have recently searched. I used to watch PornHub all the time on Safari and random porn ads would pop up when I was not watching PornHub. Now I can watch all the PornHub I want without having to worry about those random porn ads popping up when I let someone borrow my phone.
I thought I still had my subscription to Avast until I started getting all these alerts somebody was into my information. Upon looking for my Avast account I couldn’t find it. My guess is the subscription ran out without my knowledge. I’m here now to reinstate it. It’s the best of all I have used.
From the anti phishing to the built in browser vpn. Avast secure browser will not let you down. After using it for years as well, I’m still learning or finding new little things that make me love it all over again.
I had the Avast Secure Browser for years now, & never used it until now. My default browser of choice was Chrome, but that browser has to many problems, & did not load fast. The Avast Secure Browser is fast, & secure, to fits my browsing needs.
I don't have to touch the VPN setting when I open up the browser, it turns on automatically. Weird. Can you tell me what other browser does that kind of weird thing? I Love using Google Chrome or Apple Safari, but their browser are not weird enough. I Love Avast too now, weird.
I’ve noticed that this app takes up an increasing amount of memory on my phone and iPad. After using it for only a few searches, the memory used jumped from 137mb to over 400mb and increasing. Most of this increase is data storage. What’s up with that? And is there a way to fix this? Good app otherwise but the memory issue is a potential deal breaker.
Excellent customer service. I complained about the product not working, and they corrected the problem in less than 20 minutes though they told me over the phone that it would be 3 to 5 days!
Avast Secure Browser has fit in perfectly with their security suite in protecting my Apple and PC products. Since using both I’ve not seen nor been reminded of any security problems related to the internet or otherwise. Excellent product.
The browser is fast even with the vpn on and it’s easy to use. Only thing that’s not clear on any of the Avast mobile apps is if the vpn encrypts cellular data as well as WiFi connection’s data if even at all. But the biometric password is a nice touch ;)

Have been an Avast user two decades or so. I trust there products and have had no issues or problems. The only issue is that some websites done allow vpn access which is there loss.
The VPN works, but the browser collects your data. Only way I’ve found to delete user data and activity is to delete and reinstall the app, and I’m curious if Avast has a database of users & their activity. The “clear all” doesn’t clear anything, it’s just for show. Makes you wonder why they’d deceive users, almost as if the intention is to collect activity & data.
It’s about time they came out with a browser where you don’t have to trip on weird stuff happening or cookies lingering or spyware or google up in all your business. It’s smooth scrabble hackers nightmare
Lock screen security feature and auto-enabling VPN are the best. I tested VPN on a speed drop and it can make around 130 Mbps download (of course depends where you are) - amazing. Upload though is just 2.1 Mbps , but I don’t complain, VPN is untended for download in incognito mode.
Love the VPN connection, it is so much more secure.! I’ve had trouble with people jumping on my wireless. Identity theft and more, I had such an uneventful day for the 1st time after installing this browser and was so productive. Thank you Avast for dropping my anxiety level.
I get that you guys run a business, but it’s funny when you are blocking ads and at the top of the main page is a “Upgrade Now” button. Crap man, if I wanted to upgrade I would. I remember many years ago Avast was amazing because they made good stuff and never pushed their product. But at some point it became “Upgrade now”, “Use This”, etc. Really diminishes their product.
This is a great browser. I’ve been using it for about a month and have had no problems. I love the fact that it’s secure and fast. In fact I like it so much I deleted my Google app so I don’t have to be spied on just to search the web!
Avast has come through for me before and they have with this browser. It’s secure, private and everything they say. It’s a good browser too. Excellent, in fact. It’s worked ell for me.
I have used this browser on my desktop computer for about a year. It makes a secure connection threw which I can watch, any videos browse or anything else .
I enjoy using this app. Not only does it work like it should I find myself engaging with it like a game. Easy to use, functions better than expected and finally I feel money well spent.
This stuff even scans the bios while my PC is starting up, and guess what? Of course Microsoft has been sending out patches that just clog your computer's CPU with crap! Everyone else just scans once your computer is booted.
Honestly the web browser is great with every thing the only gripe I have is that google will sometimes think it’s a like a unrecognized thing trying to gain access.
