So far BMC is easy and approachable to use, and it has a great tipping and membership feature. I would like for future updates to include a “revert to draft” button for blog posts (which is weird that it’s not already built-in) and a way for members to download files directly within posts (I haven’t done any audio posts yet, so I can’t speak on that). Currently, I either have to re-create a public blog post if I want to turn it into a draft again which is tedious, and I have to create an external Dropbox link for people to download any files I want them to have. Other than that, I’m looking forward to Buy Me A Coffee’s growth, even with some of the current lack of features I’m working around.
I downloaded this app as a way for my clients to tip me or pay me. I had a client buy me $12 in coffees on February 26. It’s BEEN A MONTH! It was the first time I used this app. I tried to cash out and was told my account needed to be verified so I followed the steps to verify. I added my bank account and card details and provided my Instagram account information. The app declined my account verification and sent me an appeal form. In the meantime they have refused to let me withdraw the $12 to prevent “fraud”. Its been a month of dealing with this horrible app. I filed the appeal form and it’s been almost 2 weeks and no word from them so I recently contacted customer service again. This app has basically taken $12 and is refusing to release it despite the fact I have credible social media. I’ve been dealing with this for a month maybe longer-over $12 that was paid to me by a client. What this app does is extremely wrong and unethical. I’ll be contacting the better business bureau and the attorney generals office to warn people about this fraudulent app that refuses to pay people the money they make.
I received a notification that there was a reply to one of my posts via email. I launched the app and found none existing. However on the website the reply was there. It seems that the app is not properly synced up or is not functioning altogether. Please fix this at your earliest convenience. Thanks
I use it two weeks and it’s horrible. I downloaded because a lot of YouTubers are start making accounts in BuyMeACoffee and I wanted to support them. I can find the account through the app but can’t become member, I emailed support and asked if I can donate from my page in the app, they did not answer directly to my question and asked me to use browser… On website I can’t find any others pages and support whoever I want, it has so many options and complicated menu, I’m not really stupid to use multifunctional app but in this one I got frustrated. On the Patrion it has weird way how to became a member opening additional pages, but a least I can track all my subscription and manage my payments. It’s simple and useful. But this one disappointed me, it has cool design though… I decided to write review because of help centre service, I didn’t like it.
Recently had a friend share with me about this app and checked it out. Realized there are so many things you can do with the app. Since then, I have been telling all of my friends on social media to check it out also. So many people need something they can use to centralize their content and BMC definitely does that while also keeping things simple and easy for people to understand. Who isn’t looking for just that with time constraints at this point?? I know the simplified app is what definitively keeps me coming back.
It should become better than a beta-looking version
I wish the whole interface were a little bit more like Patreon's, which looks a lot more professional and definitely less confusing. The website and app don’t synchronize as they should. I see many followers on the website but zero on the app. When you copy-paste content from other apps like Word or Notes, the fonts get messed up. You cannot fix two different fonts into one unless you fix them somewhere else, paste them all at once, or type them by yourself. I invited my followers from other platforms to my page and offered a free membership for some time to promote my new platform. I also sent an invitation to my secondary email to see what my followers received. Well, they received a lovely email that led them to the app, not to my page! What is the point if they are not redirected to my page and have to search for it?! This platform has the potential to become more like Patreon. I hope they can improve it as soon as possible.
I was literally up and running in 10 minutes. I now have a membership, with two levels. I don’t have to set up an email newsletter, because once I make a post it will send to the members and supporters. I can do stuff just for members, for supporters and members, or for everyone. My biggest complaint as it stands right now, is that I can’t make a video like in Instagram or audio like in Voxer, in app. I do have to jump through hoops to be able to provide anything other than a blog post. Which is quite obnoxious for me. Outside of that, so far I love it because I didn’t have to think. I was up and running in 10 minutes, and that’s all I cared about.

Awesome app I love it I do wish that the Buy Me A Coffee Button wasn’t hidden once you add the Membership Button. I think this is the only reason I haven’t added the Membership feature. I want people to be able to clearly access both the BUY A Coffee Button and Membership Buttons easily. The Buy A Coffee button should still be visibly displayed without disappearing once a Creator develops and activates the Membership button.
We have been using BMC for almost a year now, once we put the time into building out our content, our audience grabbed on. We found this much easier then other content hubs, and liked the idea that you can simply donate a quick couple of bucks with no strings. People appreciate the ease of popping in and doing that. Ok the app is not only clean and easy to understand but is SUPER simple to upload any type of content I want to share! I started a new account after leaving for a bit but now that I’m back there are really cool updates that are really helpful that I’m excited to use. **You can also download and use the app solely to receive money if you don’t feel comfortable giving out your venmo, cashapp or PayPal!
So I found out about this platform on Twitter and I have to say I really do love the concept and app. It's super intuitive and easy to use. I haven't come across any glitches or freezing so far. I'm a blogger, writer, beta reader and want to be publisher and this space is perfect for these things. The idea for this is exceptional. I changed mine to buy me a robot 🤖10/10 would recommend to all creators out there.
I downloaded the app and post it on my 40k+ account instagram bio, some of my friends just sends me about 60$ or something like that as a first try ! When i wanted to withdraw it they said ur account has been suspended and the money will send back to persons they tips u , for no reason, I read the application policy I didn’t do anything wrong and still didn’t accept me as a creator, I texted the support , they reach me back after 4 business days, with a mail from Tina saying “Hey, thanks for reaching out! Let me forward this to our payments team and get back to you!” Then ghey never get back !
They just defunded all creators for Ukraine. Most heartless move possible: kick people from a country viciously attacked by daily rocket attacks Update: the developer responded this move was meant to “save costs”. My simple question to the developer:: do you really think it’s ok to save costs at the expense of someone’s maybe single source of income? Imagine it was you who has to go through nightly bomb raids, imagine you depend on this income to support your family. I know actual creators in Ukraine forced to close their channels because of you saving costs. How much did you save on these people?
As stated above this site had the worst support I’ve ever seen, very untimely responses with little help other than articles. Account abruptly deactivated without reason even though it stated I would get an email. I got nothing. My supporters donations are stuck and cannot be withdrawn due to some type of website error on their end ( or so they say). The site itself feels like a scam and the app is useless. You can’t even access your payout setting or any settings at all without logging into the actual site. Creators- DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.
I singed up using my Apple ID and everything was going well. Woke up one day and tried to login and kept receiving error messages about my authentication no longer works. I contact apple and they did a trouble shoot and informed me that it was the third part app that I was using. I sent several emails to the support department with my concerns and never received a response. I have no way of getting in touch with them and no way of getting the money that is on there. Total Loss. I do not recommend.
I think this app has yet to even begin to see if it’s true potential there’s so many different variables that can go into the future of this app that it could blow up and it’s it might be one of the better apps out there so I’m glad to be a part of it right away and thanks folks.
I use this app to follow one creator I really like. It makes it easy to see all the posts. However it seems there isn’t a way to do the financial support on it (the whole “buy me a coffee” deal.) Being able to do that directly from the app instead of having to go the website, which then sort of defeats the purpose of the app, would make it much more useful.
This app is great, but we’re in 2023. Why can’t i search up key words/terms to locate specific content from the creators i’m subscribed to ? not having that feature makes it harder on my life and exhausting because i have to now scroll through dozens of videos to find what i’m looking for. Do better buymeacoffee. upgrade this feature and your app will become superior/better.
I really enjoy Kofi, and I’ve been a faithful user for a long time! However when downloading the app I was unable to login to MY account even when using the email. Instead it signed me up as a new account, and I can’t login to my original kofi account. I’d live it if this app let you sign in with you password instead of just your email to avoid this problem.
Just started using this app. Haven’t used it enough to determine whether it’s something I’ll use and keep. Probably will. The rating request came up on my second or third use. And that was during times I was trying to learn how it works.
I only made an account because I wanted to be able to support different artist which is fine one artist, though decided not to work on what they promised so I went to the page to try to see if I can get a refund. Kofi said they wouldn’t be able to help unless I messaged the person who scammed me, but in order to message the person who scammed me I need to pay them I understand protecting artist, but it shouldn’t be at the expense of those that are supporting them
I’ve tried starting up commissions and payment on the app three separate times but the app is super not user friendly. I can’t even manage my own memberships that I’m subscribed to on the app :// or see my own commissions. I just wish the app was a little bit more user friendly. I can’t even get STARTED without running into issues
The site is helpful for creators, but this app leaves much to be desired. Almost everything besides checking income either must be done on the site or is substantially more convenient. You can’t use the app to upload or post things in the Extras/Shop section. Even writing a post is difficult, and their WSIWYG editor is laggy.
The Buy Me a Coffee platform stopped paying to Ukrainian creators and providing coverage for the Ukranian region. I found this position of the company very disappointing and frustrating, especially when, for many creators, this is the main source of income during this horrific war that russia started against Ukraine a few years ago. I hope Buy Me a Coffee will reconsider their sporadic and excessive decision. Meanwhile, I have to cancel my channel and all my subscriptions.
So basically it would allow me to sign in on my phone ,but doesn’t allow me to sign in on the website. It keeps saying “Login using your social authentication failed. Try again later” and it’s been like this for over 8 hours.
I had accidentally created two accounts and could not make corrections. The tech support at Buy Me A Coffee responded quickly to my email, merged the accounts, and resolved the matter instantly. Thank you, Tech Support!
Really cool idea... But sending funds and withdrawing funds isn't intuitive (I figured it out, but even help articles were not clear). Ability to save password and login via biometrics would be great. Update: continued problems with adding pictures to posts. Despite uninstalling and reinstalling the app, i continue to receive "network error".
This app has made it so extremely easy to connect and post on the go for our podcast!! If you are thinking about it do it & then Buy Us a Coffee, because we didn’t steer you wrong!
The combination of learning materials ranging from podcast to transcriptions, and the multiple ways of accessing the program, make it easy and a delight. Add to that Stefano’s enthusiasm, and we have a winning combination.
I really enjoy this app. I do wish that I could have access to some of the laptop stuff on my phone. Such as the shop feature, and the audio bit as well.
Having the app allows to get notifications, stay connected, and publish updates anywhere anytime. No reason not to have this app if you have a buymeacoffee account.
I’ve seen so many horrid apps that a solid one gets 5 stars. This one is solid. No bugs that I’ve found. It could have more features but they’ll hopefully come. The foundation is good.
I dont remember how long ago i made an account for this app, but ive been trying to log back in and i dont ever remember trying to delete my account once. It just says “ As per your request, this account has been queued for deletion. Please contact support to cancel the deletion.” And i have no clue how to contact support but hoping i would get help or an answer by this review.
I love this app. It’s a great way for me to connect to my “Buy Me A Coffee” account, interact with my followers and supports. It’s such a creative way to receive donations. I feel like this app makes the process on both ends easy.
Decent app, seems to be constantly improving, and I hope that mobile payouts will be an option very soon. Otherwise I can see myself and others taking our business elsewhere - also weekly payouts are nice, but how about daily?!
The sign up for this app is very misleading. I somehow got set up with 2 accounts billing my card twice every month and the website and app are completely different. Online you can’t delete your account, only “disable” It. You have to get this app to actually delete it. It’s very user unfriendly and I hope the creators I followed uses a different platform like Patreon which is far superior. Be careful.
I love the app but I hate that there is no way to get into notifications to turn them on and you can not get to settings either, all the FAQ tells you click settings then click notifications but on website or app do these tabs exist, it would be nice if you added that to app & website being your FAQ is wrong as they do not exist
Hi I’m loving how easy it is to setup everything for free n stuff but there is one thing that would be nice. Can you make it have an audience already built for us? Kind of like TikTok. I don’t use TikTok because it’s Chinese Spyware.

This app reflects the lower 20th percentile UX experience that the website delivers. I constantly get notifications, but when I click on a link, the indicated message requires constant clicking to find. The app never remembers me, requiring a new login. The app is terrible and needs a complete UX redo. It's too bad, because the service offer is good but the UX is just bad.
The app’s interface is very good. Sleek and clean, easy to use. But it would be better if ALL of the features available on the browser were also available on the app. I can’t make on the go changes without carrying my laptop around as well.
If I try to make a post and add a picture it gives me a “network error” every time. I e restarted my phone, logged out and in and it doesn’t seem to fix the problem. Is there a fix for that?

Your app gets one star if there was zero I would put it there. I have to delete the person. I’m following reload the app then add an updated payment method. This is an amateur at best and when that’s all done updating the content provider was an added to my follow list in the app? Higher a new app programmer to simplify this. Brutal.
