Great for online teaching
My monitor doesn't have a web came or a microphone and Camo let's me use my camera and its mic and it looks great and sounds great. Aside from using my iPhone 11 and mic the zoom feature is incredible. I teach guitar and other instruments through zoom and the ability so quickly zoom in super close on my fingers is a gigantic help! I don't use any other Camo features. It's nice to have color correction and all those other doo dads but I never use them. I have nice lighting in my studio so I never have to worry about that. I give it 5 starts because it really is fantastic for me I just can't stand the subscription model of software. Sure, I could buy the lifetime use but, too me it's too much money for what the software does. I have other really sophisticated software I use that I paid less money for and I've been using those for years (with updates). Even $5 a month is steep to me but I make money using it so it makes sense.

Superior web cam
I compared this to epocam which is used with the elgato family of products and vcam. Reincubate is superior. It has a very natural looking depth of field background blur whereas the other two pixelated the area around the portrait. It has only one downside, which was still not enough to knock it down a star, which is that it requires a wired connection from your phone to your Mac or pc. Not an issue if you’re using as a webcam or to feed in video to obs or streaming. It might be an issue for those trying to do mobile filmmaking. But then you’re probably not looking for webcam software. I recommend the developer work on a wireless option which will allow the phone to be used further from the computer which opens up a wider range of film angles.

Truly Fantastic!
I searched high and low for "the best" webcam when starting a new remote job this year. I have also tried many different brands over the years and simply never found one that excited me with the quality and features. Once started at my new job, they internally recommended Camo, which I had never heard of. I tried out the free version first and very quickly (and excitedly) paid for premium. I already had the best possible camera in my pocket, and now I could easily use it for all my web calls! The finetuning capabilities make this my absolute favorite option now, and I don't have to carry any additional cameras or cords when I travel, than the phone and cord I already have on every trip to begin with. Thanks for making such a great app, Camo Team!!!

Love It!
I was using the logic Pro 922C camera and a light ring for meetings. I struggled with mounting the camera to a 38-inch screen. Also, the mic would always create an echo during the meeting so I had to change to iPods. And even with the ring light it was always dark. In one meeting I noticed the Camo icon on a screen. The image was high res, bright and the sound was great. I researched Camo and immediately purchased it for my new iPhone 14 Pro. Now my image is sharpo, bright and the audio is problem free. Camo has far exceeded my expectations and has deleived a fantastic user experience. The only negative I can think of would be that I would like more /- zoom control when using the front facing camera. I have to use it because my stand is magnetic. And it only offers 1:1 ratio.

The only way I've *really* been able to use my iPhone as a webcam
There are a ton of apps that allow you to use your phone as a webcam: Epoc, Iriun, etc. and I've tried several. My issues with those were that the video was choppy, they were slow to connect, the lighting was bad, they didn't connect with Zoom, the desktop client was ugly or hard to wrangle and other frustrating things that ultimately left me to go back to my Macbook's built in camera. Then, I found this app. It actually works well, finally! The video is crisp, it connect via USB so the connection is instant and stable, the settings are straightforward and well-designed, it works flawlessly with Zoom and everything else I care about. Exactly what I was looking for

Content creators need this app.
In addition to the many apps available for turning your smartphone into a webcam and using it with OBS, Zoom, or any other software, I was interested in finding an app that has no delay and creates a sort of depth of field effect to my videos. That's why I bought a 13 Pro Max iPhone recently. I tried my old iPhone XR with this app and got surprised when I saw the "Basic Portrait and Portrait Mods; I wish I had known about this before I purchased my new phone. I am not using other image adjustments in the app, as I am using the app in conjunction with OBS Studio and doing all my color grading and correction within OBS. This app is a must-have tool for those looking for that kind of usage, and it does not break the bank. I recommend it.

The definitive webcam app
You know how every now and then you’ll see a Zoom square that looks much better than everyone else’s camera? That’s what you can get with Camo. I’ve tried a few others, but Camo stands out for high quality and high configurability. My favorite adjustment is white balance temperature -- it makes your room’s color tone look “cooler” or “warmer”, a big improvement over the default camera settings. Combined with higher resolution (compared to everyone else’s webcams), it makes my presentations look professional. I also appreciate the ability to crop the camera image, especially when I’m working from a messy office or a distracting public area. Just tons of useful and well-thought-out features.

Truly enjoying my fantastic iphone 12 camera with no delay!
My iphone 12 pro max is now my internet camera - it is also my recording camera for other things and Camo has made it all possible! There is no perceptible delay on my computer screen so using the Awesome camera's on the back of my phone is zero problem. The clarity and function is way beyond a Logitec Brio. This has ended my search for a great streaming experience, a great camera. This experience is every bit as good as advertized! The only thing left will be figuring out the best holders for the phone and positioning - but it is easy to be motivated to buy those when you see how vast the improvement is. And the solutions are often super cheap and simple.

Gets the job done and it does it well!
The thought came about, "hey, this old iPhone 6s that is otherwise useless with its bad battery would make a great web cam because the camera is better than my MacBook, and the microphone is really good. How would I do this?" After trying a few other apps I ended up with Camo and I'm super happy. The free version functions well but if you get the Pro version, it opens up even more opportunities. My old 6s lives on as a great webcam and thankfully Camo supports this old device, unlike some of their competitors. I absolutely love it and highly recommend. I want to add that I bought a few webcams and found that unless you spend big dollars you wont get one as good as an old iPhone.

It's Contagious...Everybody is getting it. :)
Several YouTubers recommended using an old iPhone as a webcam in lieu of spending a ton of money on a dedicated webcam that can be less than par quality. In addition to this several used CAMO to provide better quality for video meetings and they weren't kidding. Especially if you have an iPhone with portrait mode, CAMO ups the ante. I showed it to several collegues, being we are a 100% remote company and now they are all getting it. When they are on meetings, others in the company are asking how they improved their cam quality and so it goes. I had an old iPhone 11 laying around and now have a much better webcam than any I could have found online. Thanks CAMO!

Camo is amazing!
I wanted a better virtual meeting cam than what my standard Logitech webcam could offer. I really wanted DSLR quality video but didn't want to pay for a DSLR rig that would essentially be stuck at my computer for meetings. A last-ditch search for options turned up a review of Camo, and now I can use my old iPhone 6S that was just sitting around as my full-time webcam. Armed with a small stand-mounted ring light (that I was already using with my webcam), the difference in video quality is stunning. I also love that you can tweak camera settings or have it set on auto. Camo saved me a ton of money by not having to buy a new DSLR setup and it works perfectly with Teams, Zoom, Google Meet and more.

Excellent Support
CAMO is an excellent product. However, there are problems getting it to function when the other software changes -- like TEAMS and Webex. Then you have to re-install. I'm not good at that. So, I have had to rely on the excellent support team at CAMO. That said, it takes time. A big improvement would be to eliminate the need for the user to jump through hoops everytime the world around CAMO changes. That said, the picture clarity is excellent, especially good in a confined space where a SLR cannot function. Also, iPhone requires different green screen lighting. TEAMS shows more bounce than Zoom. That's not CAMO's problem but could be a nice feature/benefit problem for them to solve. I use the product every day. So, I love it.

Great product
This is the software Apple failed to include with their os. It makes it possible to use your fantastic iPhone and iPad cameras as a high quality HD webcam, with all the bells and whistles. Not 4k ready yet! The pro software version also includes the ability to save presets that include exposure, brightness, saturation, rotation, and many more. It also works as a virtual webcam that can be inserted into Zoom and other live video and audio apps. Considering that you can buy a live-time license for 80 Dollars, I will not ever buy a webcam again. I rather use my old iPhones. Finally it payed of keeping them around. The software works perfectly with my 6 years old iPhone 5SE. That's amazing!

Nice webcam replacement w/iPhones & iPads
It's a nicely developed app paying attention to all the details. It provides the software apps for your Mac and iPhone or iPad to use their cameras as a webcam. The quality of the images is generally good and I like all the controls it provides, front or rear camera, Portrait mode (Pro) which gives you a nice, cinematic look. My only gripe is that even after I upgraded to Pro I still had a "Camo" watermark on the image with my iPhone 13 Pro and no way to remove it. It did not happen with my iPad Air (4th gen) however. Also, some of the image adjustments are rather poorly implemented. For example, when adjusting brightness to be brighter it simply adds white to the image. Not a true brightness adjustment in my book.

Your best webcam is your iPhone
I thought about spending $200 or more to get a good HD webcam. Then learned about Reincubate Camo from Joanna Stern's review in the Wall Street Journal. I'm only using the free version with my iPhone 12, and it is awesome. I have a goodneck mount holding my iPhone above my external monitor. I have a lightning cable plugged in to my USB port on the monitor. I open Camo on the phone, open Camo Studio on my MacBook Pro, and then Zoom automatically recognizes it as a webcam. You get the quality of iPhone lenses for your webcam. Totally love it. I suppose the one downside is you can't use your iPhone while it's being used as a webcam. But you probably should be focused on your meeting instead of texting anyway!

Update: Developer responded and resolved all problems.
Update: Reincubate developer reached out and resolved all problems, and proved a new build so the windows application now works great. Revising my rating to 5 stars. It is impossible to activate the pro mode on a windows 10 laptop that is managed by corporate IT. This app uses non standard ports to activate and they are blocked by corporate firewalls. In addition, the windows app requires admin level access and violates several group policy settings due to suspicious components. There is no way to reach the developer other than email, and they do not respond. Avoid this app and ignore the suspiciously fake reviews. Do not pay to upgrade.

great utility
This fills a niche: the "why can't I use my phone (or an old phone) as a webcam?" niche. The free version is totally usable and the paid version adds lots of spiffy controls. I got under-24 hour helpful response from tech support with some qustions. For browser-based webcam applications you need to use Chrome, seemingly because of the limits the developers placed on other browsers. I had a little trouble until i remembererd to start things up in sequence: first the Camo phone app, then the Camo desktop app, then Chrome. Lets me use my Mac Mini for webcam aoolications, and the video quality is much higher than my various built-in webcams. Full marks!

Pretty cool!
I have been using my M1 MacBook Air with the LG 27 inch Ultrafine 5K Display, and the display's camera has been fine, with no significant problems. However, I just got the Camo app on my Mac (and iPhone 12 Pro) and I'm now using my iPhone's BACK camera for video confernecing and WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! Much sharper picture with a lot more detail! Also, I love all of the options associated with the paid version of the Camo software (mode, lens, resolution, presets, light adjustments, image adjustments, etc.). I've used it with Teams, WebEx, Zoom, and FaceTime, and it really is what it claims to be. If you want professional quality video for your video conferences, you need this app!!!

Sick app with amazing support!
This is the best app for a webcam I have used so far! It is super convenient for class or meetings and works super well with no bugs, low latency, and a super high quality image! It’s also super nice having the ability to control everything on the Mac app as opposed to on the phone for when I have it mounted. I have tried other apps like EpocCam for example it’s it’s filled with bugs and doesn’t work properly. I do not have that issue with Camo and for the price of Pro it’s a good deal considering the support you get with the app and when comparing it to a hardware webcam that doesn’t even match the quality of the iPhones camera and is $200+!

Easy-to-Use, Functional, Cost-Effective
Camo has completely changed the WFH experience for me, my colleagues, and my clients. I stream with better resolution, color, light balance (especially in low-light), and field of view using my iPhone. Meetings appear more professional, and the $10 flex arm I use to adjust the phone's angle allows me to use the optical zoom or wide-angle lens with a unique effect. To spend a large sum of money upfront for a better webcam or an elaborate setup for my DSLR never made sense. Though I'd rather pay once for the Pro, the monthly subscription is manageable given the pace at which the iPhone's cameras improve.

It's Continuity Camera "Pro"... but even better than that.
I love Continuity Camera in macOS. It simplifies so many things. But it lacks (any) controls, including which camera on my iPhone I use and granular image controls. Camo exposes all of the picture refinement settings I could hope for, and adds even more power via things like overlay templates. Last note: I love that remote work has become normalized. I *don't* love the isolation that bad webcams can create. Anything that allows us to better "be with" others through higher quality sound and imagery is wonderful. Camo enables that.

Perfect
I think this app is perfect. It is easy to use. Just got to install the iphone app and the mac app. Plug in the lightning cable and you are ready to start using your iphone/iPad as a camera. I noticed right away that the iphone's camera was better than my macbook's built in camera. I'll try to use this camera as much as possible. Thanks! There is no wifi option. I've tried other apps that support it and it's choppy and laggy. I think this is why Camo has decided to do the wired appoach to give the best user experience with the least amount of complications.

Does Exactly What I Want
I have software that will record whatever is on the screen of my iPhone but this runs circles around it and causes it to work exactly like a camera or a WebCam in any software which is instrumental in creating much better looking talking head videos for my contact and my clients. It's a 100% improvement over what I was using before with even they supposedly 4K WebCam. You can't beat the quality that comes from the iPhone and the Camo software captures it all and gives you lots of control options and branding add-ons in the interface.

Very impressive; wish this was built into macOS
This app suite is very impressive. Camo has come a long way VERY quickly feature wise. Originally it looked as is the Mac OS may natively get this feature, however it's clear now the native solution will be nowhere near as feature packed as Camo. I also appreciate how much they offer in the Free version; though I really wish I could unlock my Wide Angle front camera without paying full price; but hey that's how they make money. I was using Epocam before this, and switched over to Camo entirely because of the many options in the Mac app that can adjusted DURING a video call. My main feature requests would be for it to get the iPad's native Center Stage support. And second, if at all possible, would LOVE an AppleTV version of the software; maybe it's just not possible. Using AirPlay causes a lot of lag/delay and sync issues that should just be avoidable by direct linking a camera to apple TV.

Better than Logitech
The concept and execution is great. You get to use your iPhone or iPad's camera (which are way better than any webcam outthere) and mics for your video conferencing. I have used this for Slack, Teams, Hangouts, Google Meet, and Zoom and have had no issues. The free version allows for 720 streaming which looks great and should work for most people. I also think the upgrade is worth it which allows for even better video quality and unlocks a lot of great controls/settings. I'm glad I found this app and returned the Logitech webcams I was trying out.

USB connection is broken for iOS
This worked for about 2 weeks and suddenly the software no longer connects to my phone via USB. I prefer to connect via USB for streaming to prevent any chances of lag. I tried everything to troubleshoot this issue like using different USB ports and different cables to see if maybe something was malfunctioning on my end, but unfortunately its on the software end. I also tried uninstalling and re-installing both the phone app and desktop app and nothing changed. The most recent update has broken a basic and very necessary feature for me and I don’t see a point in using it anymore. Very disappointing as I paid for the PRO version because I was so impressed with it when I first used it. I wish I could revert to a previous update. :(

Great App - Better than iOS Native
I bought this app the day before iOS updated with the wireless webcam as a new feature. I was bummed at first, thinking I had paid for a useless app. But it was immediately clear Cameo is WAY better than iOS Continuity Camera—the ability to fine-tune Cameo and use filters sets this app apart. I have a $4,000 mirrorless DSLR webcam set up for streaming, but I often use my iPhone 14 Pro Max with Cameo now instead. Great work on the product, and keep it up. Maybe Apple will come and buy you to get a decent native feature in their iOS.

Works really well so far
I have been using Camo for about a month now for viritual residency interviews during my last year of medical school, and it has worked great. I have it running on my old iPhone 7 that I never got rid of because it has a broken screen, but the rear camera on it is way better than the camera on my macbook air. I did buy the premium subscription so I could use the HD feature, but looking back I dont think I needed to because 720p is plenty anyway, and sometimes 1080p can become a bit laggy on Zoom.

Works great. Pro version is worth it.
Love it! I have a BMD Studio 4K, but this is much easier to setup for quick meetings or broadcasts. Definitely not as good as the 4K camera, but since you already got the phone, the pro version is well worth the money to up your webcam game w/out a lot of setup, especially when combined with an existing studio lighting setup that's configured for a nice camera. I like this because my camera has to move from work to home but having this allows a second camera input into OBS as well as a simple much nicer webcam option.

A great tool for desktop streaming
I use Camo-Studio multiple times each week to connect to Zoom and OBS in my work as a pastor. I particularly appreciate the on-screen adjustments I can make in the Camo Studio app which runs on my Mac. These are much more conveneint for me than what is available in other software I've tried where the controls are only accessible on the phone. My only nit is that that the connection with the laptop often seems to need to be refreshed at launch, but once set up, I don't think I've EVER lost the connection.

Works where others fail
I have downloaded a number of pieces of software that promise to turn the iPhone into a high-quality webcam. Camo is unique in that they have thought through all the common use scenarios (e.g. multiple supported apps, no wonky drivers, ability to change resolution and adjust image). In short, it WORKS and supports MORE use cases than any other piece of software. It costs more than the competition, but it's really clear WHY. It's because it likely supports your use case! That's worth the price of admission, for sure. Good job, Reincubate!

I found this while trying to find a quick fix to dying webcam I use with my Mac Mini. The quality of the video is exceptional. I've been using it now for just a few days and have to say I'm impressed. I have an iPhone 13 Pro and had already found that a stand was useful both for parking my phone while I was using my computer since a glance let's me unlock it. Plug and play, Stream in 4K
No matter if I’m on a Zoom call, Team Meeting or Live streaming some one no doubt comments on the clarity of my camera and ask what am I using. For years I’ve used a Logitech webcam that I’ve recommended for so many as an easy solution, but I’ve retired my C920 for good. Camo takes advantage of the 4K quality camera I have in my pocket without having to hookup my dslr. The iPhone with Camo makes the perfect option for clear recording or streaming to help you look your best for the world to see! The AR features aren’t bad either.

Flawless
It's a lot more reliable than my dedicated webcam was with the LogiCapture software/drivers on Mac, and the video is almost perfectly contrast and color balanced. I wish the "portrait mode" not to be confused with "portrait orientation" worked with the front-facing camera but I understand that's something that may happen in the future. I also wish there was a way to have it work in the background on the iphone so if a call comes in, my video doesn't go blank when the iphone switches over to the phone app.

I only use it when I forget my webcam or when I loan my webcam out to another colleague, but is awesome software and my iphone is a million times better webcam than my logitech. The Camo software is flawless. I sometimes use it for hours at a time and have never had it crash. It was a breeze to set up. Just install the software, attache your lightning cable to your Mac and figure our a way to mount your iphone at the right height. I bought a cheap camera mount off of ebay and it works great. Really convenient and easy to use. The studio has a lot of controls. I work from home and my video quality has gone up significantly because of this. Only thing is I wish this app had wifi support. Excellent App
Camo is a high quality app that's surprisingly easy to set up. I've now been using it for a month or so. I'm a teacher and I use it with OBS to create teaching videos. I also use it for Teams and Zoom meetings. The quality is far superior to the webcam that I was using last year I've been surprised at how many people have complimented me about the lighting and clarity of the picture. A Gamechanger for WFH.
It's hard to quite describe just how convenient camo has made connecting my phone and using it as my webcam. For years, I used a logitech external webcam because it was such a huge jump in quality over the builtin webcam, easily a 2x in quality. Well, this is easily 2x as good as that external webcam. It's simple, extremely high quality, can be wireless if I need, gives me all the control I want and need, and the icing on the cake is the ability to buy a lifetime license, a rarity in today's landscape. Well worth the money!

Enough to switch away from DSLR and HDMI dongle
I recently had a complicated setup involving a beefy DSLR connected to my MacBook via an HDMI-to-USB dongle, an AC adapter, and a camera arm behind the monitor. I was able to simplify my setup with small phone mount and a single Lightning cable and the image quality is honestly just as good on my Zoom calls. Took a star off since Apple is releasing similar functionality in the upcoming macOS Ventura with plethora of features like Desk View, Studio Light and Center Stage and it would be great if Camo can be updated to be feature something like Desk View or a whiteboard mode (similar to Insta360 Link).

Much better image quality than a laptop camera
Using Camo Studio Pro with a spare iPhone 6 Plus on a cheap phone tripod. Despite being rather old the phone's camera has noticeably better image quality, autofocus and low light support than my MacBook Pro's built in camera. In particular the better camera makes it much easier to show physical objects such as drawings or crafts over video calls. Overall Camo is a solid improvement over a webcam at a fraction of the cost of a professional video camera.

great alternative to your built-in or external webcam
Have been using this on and off for the past few weeks with Zoom, Google Meet etc. I think it's a fantastic alternative to a webcam, the quality for the free version at 720p is better than my built-in MBP webcam, the software is super easy to install and stable both on MacOS and Windows. Having cables and a tripod can be messy but I've definitely considered paying US$80 for the full license but am not sure if the 2-computer limit will be an issue in the future.

It works!
Camo is a great inexpensive solution instead of purchasing a pricey webcam when you already own one--it's called your phone! The colors are much more natural, and the image is more high resolution than what comes with our (2020) iMac. It's easy to setup, and just requires some kind of stand to hold your phone. We use one that clips onto our monitor, and it's easy to adjust angle that way. Highly recommended if you want to improve your image quality for video calls and livestreams. inexpensively and easily.

Fantastic!
I recently got an M1 MacBook Pro. Let’s just say the quality of the built-in camera leaves much to be desired. As I was looking around for ways to improve my picture quality, I read that many webcams had compatibility issues. That’s when I came across Camo. At first, I was taken aback by the price. There’s at least one cheaper option out there which I tried, but Camo is well worth the extra money. The software on both ends (iPhone and Mac) is highly polished and includes a bunch of useful settings to optimize picture quality.

A handy plug-in for our online world
This program literally saved my bacon at the beginning of the pandemic, when my old webcam gave up the ghost. After discovering that all new webcams were either cheap, poorly engineered digital throwaway cameras, I looked at Camo. It allowed me to use a long-retired iPhone 5S instead, and not only was it easy to install, but the quality is far superior to any webcam at nearly any price. It's even better now that they've removed the mandatory CAMO watermark for free users. This download is a must-get.

iSight Alternative
This is a great alternative to the iSight cameras on iMacs and MacBooks. The quality is much better than the old cameras in those computers. I like having the ability to see myself on the phone and remove my self view from the particiapants in the meeting. The modes are, for the most part, fun, but useless. I only use the basic portrait mode, which slightly blurs the background very well. The masking is probably the best I've seen aside from portrait mode in FaceTime calls.

Incredibly useful for creators and live streamers
The iPhone is probably the best video camera you own, but Apple's bare-bones Camera app is limiting, and getting the dang footage onto a Mac is a pain. Camo makes it incredibly easy for creators. I can combine the high-quality video from my phone with the audio from my studio microphone and record directly to my hard drive in one video file. I can even record simultaneously while I'm on a FaceTime or Skype call. And best of all, it's a stellar Mac app.

This is a game changer
I love this thing! I have a Sony Zv1 and an EOS RP and of course they look good as webcams but they can be quite cumbersome and time consuming to set up, not to mention a not so portable solution. This is incredible! I have the iPhone 13 ProMax and I really can’t tell the difference between this and the aforementioned cameras. Just incredible. Thanks so much for this product. And I’m definitely buying the pro version. For the price it’s a no brainer. For most people I think free is just fine.

Why this concept isn't already something integrated into Apple's ecosystem is a bit baffling, but it has helped make zoom calls for work a lot easier without having to buy addition hardware that will inevitably just add clutter to my desk. My only gripe is that the device you use has to be plugged DIRECTLY into your computer - it struggles with adaptors - rather than using bluetooth, wifi, etc. Other than that, 5 stars and well worth the download!

Picture Perfect!
Been working all week trying to get camera quality 4K video into Zoom. Dealing with a DSLR was bulky and the battery life wasn’t long. In both situations Zoom would not read the camera or Camo, both worked like a champ with Ecamm. The clarity from the iPhone to Zoom via Camo/Ecamm was crystal clear. The photo settings and ability to zoom in and out are as good as it gets and the phone charges will connect to the USB. TIP: Be sure to set your phone to airplane mode to avoid disruptions due to incoming calls.
